"Spring Break: Girls Gone Wild!"
This assignment made me think of my friends and how "Girls just want to have fun!" It doesn't matter what time of the year it is or how old we are, life is meant to be enjoyed. I really didn't have fun until I went back to church and learned to be me. The Lord has blessed me with lots of friends and I have lots of fun! These are pictures from my scrapbooks and that is why I have this decor because this is something I would use.
This picture was taken July, 1999. It was about a month before I was going to renue my vows for my 25th anniversary. My friends wanted to take me on a "bachlorette" weekend get away. So we rented a hotel in San Clemente across from the beach and had a relaxing time. After the walk on the beach, we went out for dinner. Then we went back and showered and had a pajama party. We did each others nails and gave massages and just talked. We slept in, and took off to San Juan Capistrano had lunch by the mission and did some shopping. We had a wonderful time!
This picture was taken when a group of us took some trailers and stayed at the beach near Santa Barbara. We went out to dinner by the beach and then went shopping downtown. When we got back to our "room" we had snacks and even danced and talked about when we were young. It was a great time of sharing.
The next day we went shopping and and had lunch out and celebrated one of the girls birthdays. It rained hard the 2nd night but we all slept fine. The next day we had "church" on the beach. Then we packed up and went out to lunch and then headed home. It was another time to really get to know each other.
I have been real fortunate to get away with several of my friends over the years.
Every year I go to the mountains with my friends Debbie and Kelli. This past year we went to Running Spring. We watched the moive The Notebook on Deb's laptop/ We went shopping, walking and we scrapped. It was just a relaxing weekend.
Every year I go on our Women's retreat. In 2004, we were at Palm Springs. Joanie drove in her new BMW. After the retreat was over, we stayed to eat and shop. The speaker had talked about the many hats we were and learning to be the women God created us to be. We all bought hats and jewlery and enjoyed the fact that were growing up gracefully.
In August of 2005 I turned 50 and our Women's retreat was at Murietta Hot Spring. My friends and I went up a day early to enjoy dinner, breakfast and shopping because "Girls just want to have fun!" It was the best retreat for me both spiritually and emotionally. I made it to age 50 feeling good about being middle aged and really feeling blessed! After the retreat, we had to stop at Chillis for lunch.
Last month we went rented a cabin/house in Lake Arrowhead and had the best time just eating, watching movies, relaxing and sharing. I did attemp a ride on a sled on the hill behind the house. I also built a snowmen. We are planning another getaway in May. We hope to go by the beach, Dana Point or San Clemente.

Lyrics to Girls Just Want To Have Fun
I come home in the morning light
My mother says when you gonna live your life right
Oh mother dear we're not the fortunate ones
And girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun
The phone rings in the middle of the night
My father yells what you gonna do with your life
Oh daddy dear you know you're still number one
But girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have--
That's all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls-- they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun
Some boys take a beautiful girl
And hide her away from the rest of the world
I want to be the one to walk in the sun
Oh girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have
That's all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls--they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun,
They want to have fun,
They want to have fun...
