Dec. 31, 2005

So far my day has been great. We started out by taking Reina to the vet to get her shots and general check up. We are in the dog house because Reina gained 3 pounds since last year and our little weiner dog id more like a sausage. So this New Year even Reina has to go on a diet and exercise! So my last purchase of the year was $120 for Reina! As we left we saw an elderly couple there holding hands looking so sad. There aged shepherd lay on the floor, barely able to lift her head. She wore something on her bottoms, perhaps doggie undies? I have been in that position when you know you have to say goodbye. It is the hardest thing to do. I said a little prayer for them as I left. Reina was very happy to leave that place! The Dr said to send Renee in so she can apply to work there. After we took Reina home we met Andrew and Marina for breakfast at I Hop. I had french toast and eggs. I love their coffee. Then we came home and loaded up the cars and took things to Andrew's storage. We cane back and worked in the garage, cleaning it and making room to get it ready to get our exercise room back in service. It was a good work out.
I am off to take a nice hot long bath and read for awhile. I will be back later.
In Jeremiah 6:16, God says, " 'Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls.' " You decide which path you are going to walk in this coming year. You decide what your priorities will be and what direction you will take. Those are decisions that each of us will make each and every day. In 2006, choose the good way and walk in it. Only there will you find peace. Quote from

Todays Saying:Enjoying a pajama day!
It feels so good to sleep in and stay in pjs not having to go anywhere! Yesterday Renee and I went to see Rumors Has It and we really enjoyed it. Shirley McLaine is just too funny in this role. As we were leaving, I realized I did not have the keys. We searched everywhere in no luck. I am thinking that a kid wanted the min pocketknife attached to the key ring. The keys were my son's as I was using his car. Renee and I had planned on shopping and so we did that for the next 2 1/2 hours while we waited for my husband to pickus up. So first we hit Target where I got to winter mini flags 50% off. One had the Charlie Brown gang skating. The other has a snowman looking up at the sun. I also got some snowflake earrings. Then we went to Bed Bath and Beyond were we got some over the door hangers so that Renee can hang up here million purses. Then we went to Ross and Marshals. Renee found a gold purse there. When we went back to Target to rest and get a cherry slush. We put all our things in a basket and walked to the other side of the shopping place to our final stop at Staples. I got a desk calendar for my husband. Then he showed up. I treated him to dinner at The Macaroni Grill. So that was one busy day!Today is rest day until dinner. I do plan on cooking dinner and Renee is going to make cornbread. Bye for now! Hugs
Todays Saying:It is sad to see Christmas end.
The rain has been teasing us and it has been cold. I got to sleep until 10:00am today and it felt great! I did some work around the house putting Christmas stuff away and then I took a long hot shower. I took Renee to her Dr appointment because I am concerned about her being anemic. After the Dr. heard about Renee's 21 day cycle and she is a vegetarian, she decided to order a blood test. I treated her to an oatmeal cookie while we waited for her prescription for Napryson for pain. We were suppose to go to the movies, but it did not work out. We will try for tomorrow. We came home and I got more Christmas things packed. okay, time to check the laundry and pack more things. Hugs!
Renee, Marina and I went to the LA Garment district today. There was a number of ways to get there and we chose the easiest, down the 10. We did pretty good until we were almost there and then I got a little lost. Hey Darylynn, drove by USC and the Coliseum, the Staples Center, UCLA and back around. We finally got back on tract and got good parking. The girls loved it. They got some clothes and Marina got a Louis Vatan purse. Now don't laugh, but I just got socks for my son. I plan to buy my camera soon and I did not want to spend much today. Later we left and had lunch at the Olive Garden by the Ontario Mills. I am busy scanning pictures to put on my family site. Here is one of Reina staring at this one gift and she would not let anyone come near it so I took it away. Later we found it was a huge box of Chocolate!
Renee and I started the day by going to the Christmas service this morning. The message was replaced by the Children's Department doing a play called Christmas at Hope Central. It brought back great memories of when I was in school and church doing plays and singing. Back in the 60's we could do Christmas plays at school and sing Christmas carrols. After church we came home and had tamales and pozole. Pozole is a soup made with pork and hominey in a light chilli broth. It was great. My daughter in laws mom gave us a huge pot for Christmas. Marina and Renee went to Ralphs in their pj's and said, "brother we are waiting for you so we can open presetns!" Can you beleive it, they let him out early. So he came home to eat and then we all opened presents. Even the dogs got their gifts and though Reina got a new soft bed, she is here resting on my lap. My sons gave me money to go towards my digital camera. We are getting ready to leave to my parents to continue our Christmas day. I will add more later. We had a wonderful time at my parents. I think the thing that means the most to me is when we stand in a circle and give thanks to God for all our blessings and grace for the food. We had prime rib and rib eye, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, corn, asparagus, candied sweet potatoes, salad, rolls , caramel French apple pie and pumpkin pie. Of courese we took lots of pictures and I need to get mine developed. My parents gave me money so now I can get my digital camera.
It is Christmas eve and we are just relaxing. We just came back from my inlaws. We had the traditional Christmas eve dinner of tamales, beans, rice, potato salad, chips and salsa and gucamole. It got up to about 85 today. I took Reina for a walk when we came back and didn't even need a sweater.
So I will just pretend what it is like to have a snowy Christmas. All one can do here is sunny So. Califronia. Hugs, Merry Christmas!
I delivered some gifts this morning, did some
last minute shopping for next year! Yes I found some things that
came in late at one store and decided to get them for next year
for my friends at work.I need to pack them where I can find them.
I have been known to lose things! I will be pretty busy tomorrow so
I decided to do the Friday Fun today.
Today It was a good day at work. We were addressing Santa Claus letters.
Dear Santa letters are the only first class letters that are allowed to
be opened. They are read and put in 2 piles. Those that appear to
be real special needs and they go to various charities that want to
help kids. The others letters get a return Santa letter that wishes them a "very Merry Christmas from Santa." So I am addressing those. We have different areas/departments that sponsor families also. After work I picked up a few gifts at the Christian bookstore. Then I dropped off some gifts at my friends. Then it was off to Target for last minute shopping. I just got back from Bible study and it was great. It was actually an all praise and worship night. I have some pictures I need to scan so I am off for now. Hugs!

I guess I got the stomach flu yesterday. I also got AF so between that and being sick, I feel yucky. I was feeling sick last night
while I was shopping with my daughter. I was just praying I would not have to pull over on the way home to be sick. I just made it home. I don't think I can eat hot dogs anymore. I got up at 5am and went to work for 2 hours to get a project done and then I went home and went to bed. I have been in jammis all day. I still have a headache but I think that is more because I couldn't drink coffee today. After a long nap, I have been able to play on the computer and wrap some more presents. But I do feel real tired.
After a busy week, I got to come home early from work. I worked my 6 hours and picked up Andrew at 1:15 instead of 4pm. Tonight was his company Christmas party at the Jonothan club in Los Angeles. So they let everyone out early to get ready. He already got a very big bonus at work and had been doing lots of shopping. It is 12:17 in the morning and the boys are playing video games in the family room. Renee and I did some late night shopping at the mall. I got my mom some Isatoner gloves and slippers. I am almost through. Our marriage group meets tomorrow for our Christmas dinner and gift exchange. It is here at our house. I got the outside Nativity set up and the boys out up the outside lights. So there isn't much left to do for tomorrow except to sleep in and then cook.
Say goodbye to my manager at work - Karen whi retired after 38 years of service. We had a retirement party for her on Friday and it was fun.
Saturday my son and his new wife moved in with us. Ok, I lost my craft/guest room, but we wanted to help them out to save for a house. So the house is a little
The weather has finally decided to get cold!
Last night our church had it Christmas party and it was very nice. Tomorrow is our Women's Christmas party/potluck/gift exchange. So you can see I am one busy girl. Then I work for the post office and it is our busy season plus we are going to have a rate change so that always causes more work to get all the computer things updated and so on. So what's my job.... I am in charge of all the postal vending machines in our distrct. We have around 190 offices in Orange Country, LA Country, Riverside and San Bernardino Country. Our Vending was number 1 in the nation for sales this year again. That is why I just love this new siggy I got from Caroline.
Thanksgiving was real nice. We had turkey, potato medly, stuffing, gravy, green beans, corn, wild rice, and macaroni and cheese, corn bread and rolls. There was pumpkin pie, cheese cake and chocolate chip cookies for desert. After wards we played games. I woke up with my neck glands swollen and feeling blah. I suspect a sinus infection. I dropped Renee off at the Galleria Mall, went to Wal-Mart and bought Christmas cards, stopped at the scrapping store and came home. I was surprised at how quickly I made it through Wal-Mart. I paid in the music section which had no lines when I was there.
I don't plan on going anywhere tomorrow. I plan to decorate, work on my Christmas cards and hopefully scrap a little. Renee wrapped up presents today for her dad and made a little spedning money. Reina is here begging and I eat some stuffing.
It was great sleeping in. Hubby already had the turkey in the oven. My son Daniel got the potatos ready yesterday. I just have to make stuffing. I was working on my site yesteray. I was taking May-June from this blog and putting it on its own page when something happened and I lost the information. I was just so sad. That was all my journaling from the wedding of my son. It shows that the info is there, but there is an error and I can't open it. So if Jana can't help me, it is lost in cyberspace forever. I went to bed last night and prayed over it and God showed me the things I did have, my memories and pictures. Then I prayed over those I know who needed it. Like my friend Kathy's new grandbaby that has a viral infection, my friend who is in a broken marragie and so on. I am so really blessed. My kids will all be here for Thanksgiving. They are all healthy, we are healthy and have a beautiful home. We have good paying jobs and a wonderful church family. The rest of my family is well and I am blessed with many interent friends. Have a blessed Thanksgiving! Hugs
I finally made it through another long week. The weather has been in the 80's because of the Santa Ana winds and it is really bothering my sinuses. I could really use a nap about now but it is to late. I got to go to a few scrap stores to get things I need. We are giving photo albums and scrap books as gifts for Christmas so I will be busy with those. My printer is on the blink and now I can't use all those neat fonts I have. That is why I did not commit to Secret Santas. I sent a gift out to Lady Diane at the beginning of the week. I hope she has it by now. I hope Santa brings me a new printer! Well I am off to start laundry. Have a nice weekend. Hugs, Susan
Saturday I went to the Los Angeles garment district.
We shopped for a few hours. Then we had lunch at the Olive Garden.
Then later my husband and I went to our married group. We spent an hour
in the spa and enjoyed a carrot cake dessert. We also drew names for
Christmas. The next meeting is at our house. Today after church I came home and slept for the 3 hours. A delayed AF came down and I have had cramps all
day. So now I am rested. Have a great week! Hugs
I went shopping Thursday at the Sugar Plum Craft Festival. I got some ornaments and some Christmas presents. I also bought me a painted dressor/desk. Kind of a white wash look with painted with roses. I will use it for scrapping stuff.
I went to my friend Oliva's house for dinner. There were 8 of us celebrating Liz's 50th. We had a nice time and I did not get home until 1:30am!
We laughed so much and the food was great!
Today my daughter and I went to the movies to see Shopgirl. I thought it was rated pg, but it was R. There were a few sex scenes that I would rather her not have seen, but regular tv can be just as graphic. She is 16 1/2 and very mature. Then we went shopping. She is a purse-aholic amd found another one she liked. She used her babysitting money and then did some extra chores for me to pay it off. She cleaned my car our when we got home and a few other things. She is babysitting now. I am off to bed now. Tommorrow is it more shopping. We are going to the Garment District in LA. Bye for now.
I amd working on several things today. My web pages, scrapbooking and laundry. I got my homework assignment from Darylynn and though I can come up with several things, I need to stick with my current
hobby/craft and that is scrapbooking. I am glad I am off work on Friday because I want to scrap. Last night was our Women's fellowship and it was great! I have to update the directory for that and have it ready for the next fellowship which is on Dec. 5th and we will have a Christmas potluck and gift exchange. So I will be one busy lady!
This has been another busy week. I was in bed
early 3 days this week and one day it was by 7pm! Needless to say I have not been on the computer all week so here is a long update.
Mon, 10/31 - Trunk or treat at our church was very successful and lot
of fun. I had lots of positive compliments about how my car was decorated.
Funny how the women would say how cute it was and them men would comment on
how many dolls I had. I would correct them and say scarecrows. This happened
several times. Just a guy thing. Yesterday I was so tired yesterday. The weekend just caught up to me so I end up taking a 2 hour nap. I just finished reading an exciting book called the Ezekiel Option by J Rosenberg. It was great! Ezekiel was an Old Testament prophet that foretold of the end times.
This action pact book was hard to put down. Now I am reading a book
I ordered on Depression for my recovery group.
It is called Getting Over the Blues-A Woman's guide to fighting Depression. by Leslie Vernick
She is a licensed clinical Social worker and Christian counselor
who went through depression herself. Here is her site: http://www.leslievernick.com/
Ok, some changes are on the horizon. My son and his wife are planning to move in with us so they can save for a home. Prices for rent and home are outrageous here in CA. We plan to have a family meeting to discuss all the things involved with them moving in.I will give my scrap/guestroom back to them. They can't change the color though. It should be interesting. It will help us out. They will pay us a small rent and that will go towards our cruise. Now I won't have to worry about my 16 year old being alone.
Friday we went out to dinner with Andrew and Marina and we talked about them moving in which might be sooner. So today, after Renee and I went shopping, I started cleaing out the room. Andrew came over after work and he and Daniel moved out some furniture. Just the bed is left that will go in storage as they will be brining in their king size bed. I have had to reorganize all my scrap stuff and that involved movning books around. It is super late now and I am tired but not sleepy! hmm. I am drinking Sleepytime tea to relax. I will end here. Have a blessed Sunday. Hugs
This weekend I have been scrapping around a fall theme. I am a member of
Scrappy Chatters and we are doing a Croptoberfest. Fall is my favorite season. Yesterday I also got all my fall stuff to decorate the back of my car ofr our church's fall festival Monday evening. Today after church my cousin Joanie and I are going to a scrap store to work on our pages. Well I am off to get ready for church. Have blessed day! Hugs
Well my scap crop begins tonight and I have been
busy getting my things together. Most of the pages will be Harvest.
I am also getting ready to do my homework for Darylynn.
Sadie's worn out girl so described me. I worked 30
hours in 4 days and that is a lot for me. I am use to 6 hours a day.
But I wanted Friday off so I asked to work 6 extra hours M-F. I have a shoulder problem and it was flaring up this week. Then I took extra meds. for the pain which makes me more tired. Tomorrow I am going to the mountains for
a planning meetings with the Women's Ministry Team. I am looking forward to it. The mountains are so pretty and there may be snow since it rained hard for a few days this week.
I picked up my daughter after she took her pre SAT test. She said it was a hard test that lasted about 3 1/2 hours. After lunch, we went to Wal-Mart first and got Reina a new sweater and some dog chews. I for some scrap things and Renee got some mascara. The we went to another scrap store and she got some paper and earings. I rold her she has to share them with me. Them we wemt to Mervyns were we did some serious shopping. I got some clothes for work. She got some sweaters and we each got a new purse.
Playing time was over and we spent 2 hours working on her assignment for her physiology class. We did a Power Point Presentation. She got her information together the other day. We both learned a lot.
The weather was beautiful today, but the hot Santa Ana winds are coming again. I had planned to go to Bible study tonight, but Renee needs my help with her research project on brain cancer. Poor thing has pms like me and does not feel well. So I will find some links for her. It is nice to have my site running again. Some virus attacked the server and it was mess. Jana did a great job taking care of things for us! My time has slowed on here, but I could never leave the www. I need to upload a few things and then I need to get busy. Have a blessed rest of the week. Hugs
My site has been down so I have been working in my scraproom trying to get things organized. My son is taking out his surround sound and had to repaint a few areas. Yesterday my husband and I spent the day at Disneyland and we hopped to California Adventure. The weather was beautiful! It was my belated birthday present since it was to hot to to in August. This 50 year old just had to go for Disney's 50th birthday celebration. I got to go on my favorite rides, Space Mountain and Star Tours. California Adventure had a simulated ride where you are gliding over California that I really enjoyed. I also enjoyed the parade, Fantasmic and the Walt Disney story. I got AF there but did ok, but I have been so tired today and I am thankful I had the day off. Back to work tomorrow.
Have a great week!
It seems like the days are just flying by! The weather has been in the low 100's and there are several fires in CA. High gas bills and igh utilities make life hard on the pocketbooks. But all in all. I am still blessed with so much. I am leaving today with Debbie and Kelli to the mountains for a time of fellowship and rest. We plan to scrap, work on our devotions and read the Word and see some "chic flicks" We come back on Sunday later afternoon. I am so looking forward to it. We were suppose to leave early, but the plans did not work out. I had my hair cut and colored by my friend Frances and I have been relaxing. I need to finish packing and load up my car. I have my scrap travel case, cd and mini boom box. Here is a picture of me at the Race for the Cure event. Have a great weekend!
Today my daughter and I participated in the
OC Race for the Cure in Newport Beach. I hope to have pictures in the next day or so. I am so tired as I write this from getting up at 4:45 am. I could not sleep last night because I was excited for today. I came home from church and napped for 2 hours but still am tired. I hope It was so dark this morning and we hit a fog bank at the top of the 261 toll road. I guess that is expected when they build through the mountains. Anyways, we were there early enough to help set up The Postal Service Team booth. We had the biggest company group with over 800 employees signed up. Out Team captain Beverly was there in her pink sheet and cap that all survivors were wearing and there were lots of them! I think I walked about 3 miles today. Renee and I left early to have breakfast before church at Coco's and we end up eating salads instead since we had breakfast at 5am.
Well I am off to work on my scrapbook stuff. Have a great week! Hugs
I got the blinkie in an email today at work, no credit given.
But it was just what I needed to share about the Susan B Komen Race for the Cure walk I will be participating in on Sunday with my daughter. The Post Office has the largest group going with over 800 people going. The group coordinator is my friend Bev Dalton who is a 10 year survivor. Today the PO had a blood and donar marrow drive and I am not on the Bone Marrow registry. I went to give blood too but was rejected because I did not meet the weight requirement of 110. I am just under that. Last time I did not make it because I was anemic. Maybe next year then. The weather has been so weird. We had thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday and then heat. Seems like weather all over this year has been really bad. The signs of the time.... I don;t know if my site will stay up with the hurricane that is heating Texas and my server is from there. Oh well, I have to look at the big picture and I can always rebuild pages. Well I am off to bed. God bless you
Today I had 7 women over for a Creative Memories scrap class. Jennifer gave us some good tips on preserving and organizing our pictures. We plan to get together once a month if possible. I was able to get $55 worth of free stuff, a free mini album just for having a party and one item 1/2 off. 2 women booked parties and
I can order things from them. One of the women there was Dawn, and it is her sister Trena that just passed from cancer. Dawn will be putting pictures of her sister together for the kids. My cousin Joanie was there with her friend Liz who is going through cancer treatment now. She is one of the women I will be walking for next Sunday at Race for the Cure in Newport Beach. Joanie and Liz will be there too. After all that, I had a baby shower to go to. There are such cute baby things now days. I also picked up my first gift for my someday future grandbaby. Andrew and Marina want to wait, but I can still get things and put them away. The weather here had been perfect. We normally have hot days in Sept. My house is all decorated inside and outside now for fall. One good things about having company is that the house gets clean. My son and husband cleaned the front and back yard.
Well having done all that I am off to bed. Happy Sunday!
First of all I want to send up prayers to those lost on 9/11 and second, continued prayers for the vicitims and families of Katrina.
I was gone Friday after work and all day Saturday at the Women Of Faith Conference at the Anaheim Pond. I went with my cousin Joanie and my friend Stephanie and we were really blessed. You can read about it
Here.
My computer email is not working and I think it is time for this computer gets serviced.
I looked at the date and realized it was the birthday of one of my old boyfriends. He would be 49 today had he had not died of diabetes.
Life is fragile. On that note, I am also sad that I think I have hurt a friend. I can't explain it but I feel in my heart that God's hand is in all of it and there will be healing and growth through it all. Meanwhile I am enjoying my day at home with know plans to go anywhere. I am getting my desk cleaned up and the shredder is getting filled. My whole desk is getting cleaned up too. Yesterday I worked on the scrap room and my bedroom and it feels great to get caught up. I plan to take a long bubblebath and read later too. The house is quiet as my son and hubby are shopping for groceries and my daughter is browsing in clothing stores nearby.
Yes the men in my family are cooks and so they go to buy what they want to cook and I enjoy it and get kp - kitchen pickup. I am getting my fall pages ready and moving some things on my server to another website. Adoptions take a lot of room! Well I am off now. Have a great weekend! Hugs
Julie of Bear Essential Graphics teamed up with Darylynn to provide this beautiful graphic. It is linked to the Red Cross who needs as many donations as possible. It is so hard to see what is happening to the victims and those that are hurt from this hurricane. I pray that after the shock is over and the victims are settled, they can see that so many have pulled together to help them. That they will get over their anger. Prayer is needed for everyone. We have never had to deal with this kind of disaster on such a large scale. On the homefront.
I finally got a lot of housework done. I am so blessed to have what I have and I really appreciate it more so now. I hope to get some scrapping done this weekend. I will be gone most of next weekend. In fact I will be going away for 3 weekend in the next 2 months. I am blessed to be able to enjoy time with my friends. I am blessed to have a husband that lets me go without complaining. I could not do much when the kids were young. But they are older now. Renee is 16 and she is babysitting tonight until 1am. I doubt I can stay up, but I will probably stay downstairs until she comes home.
I can't believe I have not posted in 10 days. But I was busy getting ready for the reteat. I was gone from Thursday until Sunday. Monday I was busy with Renee and then I had dinner with my friends.... again. Tonight I actually cooked dinner. I cooked brown Jasmine rice, veggies with chicken and black beans. My husband needed a home cook meal. The retreat was great! IWe have had 11 of them and this one was the best. The speaker was just so on fire and she also sang. It was back to work today and I sure wsa busy! My roomie there was even more busy and she is trying to get 2 Retail Mobile vans sent to Louisiana to replace closed post offices. The devastation is just awful so I will keep them all in prayer.
My cousin gave me my birthday present at the retreat. It was the most beautiful scrapbook of me and I will always treasure it. My Secret Sister also revealed herself to me and I received a wonderfyl birdhouse teapot and teacup. I will have to take some more pictures to share.
I am off to take my bath now. Hugs and blessings!
I kind of slacked off on my exercise and that was not a good things to do. So I have started it up again. Swimming is one of my favorites and I will be doing that tomorrow and next weekend. Our women's retreat is next weekend at Murrieta Hot Springs.
Yesterday I worked at the Pomona fairgrounds where several hundred people became US citizens. It was really a neat experience to see all these people raise their hands and pledge to become new US citizens. They were all waving their flags and clapping and it was wonderful. 126 nations represented there. Over 18 million people have become citizens since the turn of the century. There was a film clip from the President and then a great viedo of the Untied States and song the song God Bless The USA. I was touched. I work with the US Postal Sevice and we processed over 400 passports. It was cool to see the different countries people were from. My shoulder and arm was killing me at the end. I am just not use to handwriting anymore with the age of computers and keyboards. I got my passport photo while I was there for my trip to Alaska and Canada next year. Afterwards, I went with the board members and we put together all the handouts and gift bags for the retreat. You can read about the Hot Springs here
We took Renee for her permit today but she missed it by one so we weill go back the Monday after the retreat. Well I am off to bed. Have a happy SONday!
Yesterday was my birthday and my friends at work gave me a birthday potluck. They decorated my office and sang to me and it was fun. My son Daniel and daughter Renee picked me up and we went to lunch. Once my husband came home we went to the Trena's viewing and then we all went to Black Angus for my birthday dinner.
Today was Trena's funeral and it was great! It was a celebration of her life in heaven. She asked that we would not wear black so there were bright colors and the pall bearers were in white. The songs they sand were great and the flowers were beautiful. The photo montages of her life were wonderful. Pastor Jim had gone to Lake Tahoe for his family vacation but flew in for the funeral. There were lots of sunflowers because it was her favorite flower. After it was all over, Renee and I went shopping for school clothes for her and work clothes for me. I have a big meeting in LA on Tuesday so I want to look nice. Well I am off. Happy SONday!
I have been so tired today. I think maybe because of that time of the month and things are heavy. I am going to be 50 on Friday. When does this monthly thing stop??? And it's my 31st anniversary tomorrow and that won't be to romantic. It has been so busy lately and I have not had time to be on the net much. My friend Trena who has been battling cancer passed away on the 3rd. I know she is in heaven and we will see her again. Her testimony is
here I am off to take Renee to driving school but I will be back. Hugs
Ok, I wanted to share about Friday night. Jr and I drove out to Newport Beach and found good parking at the pier. We walked around a while and then took our lounge chairs and ejoyed the sun. Then Cliff and Debbie joined us and we enjoyed ourselves. About 6 we went to Rockn Baja Lobster. Kelli and Kevin joined us and we had a great dinner. Our dinner came in a tin pail. We had shrimp, carne asada, chicken and lobetser tails. We also ordered Alaskan king crab legs. There was lots of salsa and tortillas. Then later the waiter brought over a pie with a candle and they sang Happy Birthday to me. It was a margarita lime cheesecake and it was great! We went to the Balboa Fun Zone after and walked around. Kellie gave me my birthday present. A Legacy Scrap magazine, some stickers, a gift certificate and earrings. It was a nice evening!
I can't believe how many days have gone by since blogging.
So Cal has been hot and we have had 100+ degree weather all week.
I Just haven't been in the mood to be on the computer much this past week.
Friday night we went to a 40th birthday party for a friend at church and we had so much fun and yes I danced a lot. It was fun but hot. We did one dance that is called the cha cha slide and it was fun except I was opposite of everyone else most of the time. Then we did some Mexican dnacing which is like fast paced slow dancing and you move your hips side to side a little more so I am sore. While we were there, Lou and Barbara told us about their cruise they were planning to Alaska and they asked if we wanted to go. Well it turns out that about 15 couples from church will be going next June! I am so excited.
I am reading a few books right now as usual and my Bible and I love when I learn new things. This week has been busy as ususal but it went well overall. My little birds are eating up a storm they are so funny to watch. The weather is hot so I hope they have found the birdbath. Friday my husband and I went to Honolulu Harry's for dinner. We had a nice time and the whole evening to ourselves. We are talking about getting a hot tub. I love to soak in water and takes lots of baths but I miss not having a hot tub like we did at our other home.
I am off to take a bath and read another Sisterchick book. Then we are off to a wedding where Andrew, Marina and Daniel will be in and Renee is helping. I hope to get some scrapping in somewhere in all this.
The days are flying and so are the birds. They are coming all the time now and they eat like piggies. I have 3 feeders up. Friday I got a birdbath at Big Lots. It was $29 and I got it for $15. Then I found out that the feeder I got there for $7.00 was on sale for $14.99. I also got lots of seed at Sam's Club. I have had a busy weekend. Friday I had a meeting for our ladies retreat, Saturday our marriage group met and we went swimming. Today we went to a potuck to welcome our new youth pastor and his family. Well we are going to see and old movie called Car Wash that came out in the 70's. Have a great week!
I got to sleep in today and then made breakfast. I finished 2 more scrap pages and I am cooking corn to take to my parent. Everyone have a great day! Hugs
The weather was great today. My husband and I went to Wal-Mart today I got a 12x12, 3 bin storage for my scrapbook papers. I got some wildbird food for my visitors. I have some visitors in my garden enjoying the seeds I am putting out. I also got a bigger seed holder. I watered the yard and took out the spring flowers. I added some patriotic decortations and my husband hung the flag swags. I hope to work out there again tomorrow. I am also working on my scrapbook and plan to do 1 page a day for the next 31 days as a part of my Scrappy Chatters group. I picked up a few more sheets. I am off to get ready for bed now. Hugs and happy SONday!
Well I am not doing much but the basics. Renee has a few chores. My husband helps out so things get done. I know that with being gone 10 hours a day, I really don't feel much like doing things. Of course I would rather scrap! I just finished another Sisterchick book, Sisterchicks in Sombreros. It was fun. I do that reading in the car while waiting for my son to get out of work. I get my Bible study done at work on my breaks. I take breaks from the computer and do housework. I need to get to bed early. My brain is scattered tonight, can you tell? Hugs
Yes my cousin Joanie and I went to a Scrap Book Store and we were there for 3 1/2 hours. I bought a new photo album for an album About Me. So I got some pages and cut down pictures and cardboard. You can read more at my scrapbook site. The weather has been so nice the past few days
This week just flew by! Monday I had dinner with a few friends and we had the best time! A couple of them just left today for a cruise on Alaska. I am happy for them. I have been traveling myself in the books I have been reading. I just read Sisterchicks Down Under by .
Robin Jones Gunn. She is an author that I went to school with. I loved her book Sisterchiks to the Hula. It was great and brought back some great memories of my visit there back in 2000.
I have always loved reading and it feels great do still enjoy it. So what is a Sister chick? You can read about it here
I have also been busy with my scrapbooking. Last night was my first meeting with the revocery group I am leading. That is why my time goes by so fast. I think I worked about 34 hours this week too. Well I am off to work on my scrapping for now. Have a great weekend. Hugs
It has been a nice weekend. Andrew and Daniel took us out last night for Father's Day. Today after church we had lunch at Olive Garden. Then we went to visit my family and then we went to my husbands family. We are relaxing now in the family room and I am doing laundry for work. I am also cleaning up my desk so I better get going. Have a nice week! Hugs
The week has gone by so fast. I worked a few extra hours this week and it was not so bad. I picked up a few more scrap supplies for big project I am doing. It is nice carpooling with Andrew. I will be back tomorrow to post more.
Hugs
I took a 3 hour nap today after we came back from church. This past week was just so busy! We are getting up a little more earlier as our son has joined us in our carpool! Yes the one that got married, got a job with my brother is Tustin. So we drop him off, then my huband and then me. Tuesday I had a special meeting at church with our Women's Ministry team, the Pastor, Administrator and some deacons. We had to clarify some issues. Things change when you become a bigger church. It went well. Wednesday was our Bible Study. Then Friday we went to our friends 20th wedding aniversary/daughterss graduation/birthday party. It was 80's theme and so we dressed up. It was lots of fun. It was outside and there was a dance floor and 80's popular candy and lots of food. We had so much fun! My sister and her boys had spent the night and we all went to breakfast on Saturday. Later we went to my neices graduation party. She just graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Her dad is my brother who my son now works for. Their family will be celebrating in Hawaii at the end of the month. This morning we woke up to a 5.7 earthquake. It was pretty strong, but no damage here since it was about 80 miles from here. Church was great, Pastor Jim's message was for singles and it was great. I asked him how he felt after dancing on Friday. He was dressed like Miami Vice. Jeans, bright sports coat and sandals. Like he said today. It is good to laugh!
Have a great week. Hugs
I syayed up late last night working on my computer and scrapbook things. We were a little late to church today but got good seats. Pastor Jim talked about what makes a good husband. After church Jr, and I went to this Mexican seafood place and enjoyed hot soup while listening to a 7 piece Mariachi.
Then we went home and I end up taking a much needed 2 hour nap. I am working on some scrap book pages and it includes journaling. Since I am doing a chronological book, I have to go way back since I am only in 1975, our first year of marriage. I sure have lots to do but at least I have a room now. To see a picture, you can visit my scrap site. Well I am off now. Have a blessed and happy week!
I slept in today and then enjoyed a relaxing morning drinking my coffee and reading my email and working on my website. I got my custom graphics from Recycle Bin Graphics for my index page. The I went shopping today for scrapbooking stuff. You know you are addicted when you need new clothes and you buy scrap stuff instead. Hugs
It has been a long week, even with the Monday holiday. I am still trying to get well and this cough and sinus thing is tiring. Now my husband is sick and so I am driving solo. Not to bad as I leave earlier and come straight home after work instead of having to wait several hours for him. I plan to take a nap before a meeting I have to attend in the evening. I am off to bed.
We are going to our friends, Kevin and Kellie for a barbecue.
I still can't smell, taste well, but it will be nice to go for awhile.
Eveyone enjoy your day! Hugs
I felt a little worse today because my sinuses were bothering me. But I did not let it stop me from our plans. I tool Renee to meet Andrew and Marina and the girls got their nose pierced. It is a real small got on the side and it does not look bad or I would not have allowed it on Renee. Then Andrew and I joined Daniel and Jr at the movies and we saw Star Wars and it was great! I will have to see it again and they will have to make another movie. Then we came home and got the food and headed to my parents were we celebrated Paul's graduation from Cal State Fullerton and several birthdays. There was lots of food but I was good and did not overdo. I went to bed by 11pm but woke up at 2am and worked in my scraproom organizing and finished 2 pages and here I am. Any know what to do when you can't save as .gifs? It will only let me save as .bmp.
That is frustrating because I like to download graphics. I also go my doodle-board back up. It was not working and they were nice enough to check it out and fix it.
Well I am off to bed. Happy SONday! Thanks to Erin for this nice gift!
I felt better today except for the cough.
I got to change my blog over today with Julie's cute new mini bear graphics. I also updated my scrapbooking site and healthy me site. My son Andrew is here watching Aviator with his dad. Renee went with her friends and Daniel is at work.
Andrew and his dad made an agreement were Andrew could wash his car here once a week in exchange for doing some things for me. Marina is ok with this. She is with her mom tonight at the movies. We will all meet up tomorrow and go to my famlies home for graduation and birthday celebrations. I plan to take it easy.
Sunday will be a day of rest after church and then Monday we are going to our friends for a barbecue. Then finally back to work and back to exercising.
My Dr. extended my sick leave. Last time I did
not take care of my self and got real sick. I am still coughing, but not
as much. Still feels/sounds yucky! I have been drinking lots of fluids.
Makes me fill like the little rag doll!
I had to go to the Doctors today. I love my Dr. She is good and I will be sad when she retires. She is pleased with my weight loss. She still wants me to take the cholesterol medicine. The cough medicine dopes me up since it has codeine. I am off through Wed. unelss I do not feel better. Tera sent me the cute panda sick bears. Well I am off to watch American Idol. I want Bo to win.
I didn't sleep well last night. I finished painting yesterday and then cleaned the bathroom. I think I inhaled too much cleaner and paint. Then last night my chest felt congested and I did not sleep well because of coughing. I felt the same way all day and tired. But I had errands to do. Andrew and Marina got their tv from our garage and we took it to Costco so that they could exchange it for a flatscreen. My sister Ann and her husband got it for their wedding gift. Marina and Renee were going to get their nose pierced, but the place was closed because they were at the Orange Blossom Fair in Riverside. Marina's dad's band will be playing there tomorrow. We went to Wal-mart and I found a quilt, and pillows for the guest room/scrap/carft room and it looks so nice. Marina's family came over and Andrew and Marina opened up their wedding gifts after we all had dinner. They are all set now. They did their first big grocery shopping today. They have a few gifts to exchange to get things they need. We all go back to work on Monday. Well that depends on whether I get better or worse with this chest congestion. Renee and I are suppose to visit our friend Trena, but I can't go if I am sick. She has cancer and is not doing well and I can't visit if I am sick. I am drinking chamomille tea now and I just took a vitamin. I went off my diet today but will get back on track Monday. Happy SONday! Hugs
We slept in today and it was great! We also went to the swap meet and then to see Monster in Law. Then I we got food for Reina and paint to paint Andrew's old room. It will be a pale golden yellow. Did I mention my son
is married? I am working on a site for him and Marina. Meanwhile, here are a couple pics. to share. Hugs
We all had breakfast together and then we stopped at the rental place. There were a few more things we added. Then we were off to the church to get things set up for the rehersal dinner. Later I picked up Renee from school and we headed to Sams Club to get the cake and things to the wedding. We also stopped for ballons for the tables. The rehersal went well. Then we had a great dinner of red beef and green chicken tamales, rice, beans, chips and salsa. Marina's friend made all the food and it was great to have hot food waiting for us. Tomorrow is another busy day and I am not sure I will be back or not. Pray that all will go well. Thanks!
The weather is just beautiful! I had my hair colored today and my bangs trimmed. I have actually had times to scrap. We watched American idol last night. I felt so bad for Vonzel who we want to win. Andrew was busy wrapping gifts for his ushers. Tomorrow will be busy. I will try to get on here to update. Here is Andrew and I on Mother's Day with the flowers. It was a wonderful day today! I went to church and they were handing out carnations to all the moms. I got a purple one. Then my sons came and sat by me. Andrew handed me a bouquet of flowers. Then Pastor Jim said"if you have a purple flower, come and get one of the flower arrangements on the stage. I went up there and then on a whim, chose the big one and Pastor Jim said I wanted it for the wedding next week. I shool my head and then put it back and he said what about the flowers and I said I would be back and then laughed. See family, I have a sense of humor. Renee was sad today because she and her boyfriend broke up. After church we went to this Tex-Mex place for lunch. Marina joined us. Andew is with Marina now and her family. I visited my parents yesterday and had lunch with them. It was nice. Today I was just thanking God for my parents and how lucky I am to have them and know how much I love them!
One more bit of happy news, I fit in my dress! I lost a total of 10 pounds since January by eating healthy and doing some simple exercise like walking and using handweights. I plan to keep it up to after the wedding. Have a great week. I know I will because I am off for 2 weeks!
Our whole family is hooked on this now.
I am a Vonzel fan but I like Bo too. I will be working on the bookmarks
while watching tv. I might be working out with my hand weights. I want to get a mini trampoline, to exercise inside. My hip was hurting real bad and I was getting worried about it, but it seems to be better today. Of course I may not be able to get out of bed the day after the wedding! I am hiping AF gets her soon so I can get over this bloating and food craving. I was doing a Bible study today from a group I am in and I was really enjoying it. I am a perpetual student, always reading and learning. Well I am going to do a few things before I watch American Idol. Bye for now. Hugs
I woke up early this morning for a Saturday morning-7:30am. But that is because I was asleep by 9pm. So after a long hot shower, I picked up my daughter Renee and we headed to Wal-mart so Renee could drop off film and get some Midol. Then it was off to the Galleria Mall. She found the hair pins she needed at the Cinderella shop and a ring. She got Lip gloss and a purse at Robisons' May. I got some eye conselaer and a hair clip. We both got the Escada gift set and it has the best smelling perfume, body lotion and bath gel. We both plan to wear it at the wedding. She also got some Mac ompact at Nordstrom. The Mac pack was a gift from her brother. Most of the stuff was a part of our alloted wedding expense. Not the perfume, but that was our treat. The final thing to share is that this women gone wild got her ears pierced again! So now I have 3 earings!
It was a fun day. We did stop to eat at the foodcourt. I had grilled chicken, veggies and some noodles. I did have one bite of Renee's pizza. Oh I did get some sugar free candy. Well I am off to clean my ears and then do some laundry. Renee is going woth Marina and the guys are at the bachelors party. Have a happy Sunday!
The days are going by so fast! The wedding is just 16 days away!
I have been busy working on the seating arrangements. 300 guest
all assigned to tables. Our church is new and large but we do not
have a "social/reception" hall yet. That is the next phase. So it
all is happening in the church. All round tables will be set up.
An aisle we be created separating the brides side from the grooms
side. The dance floor will also go in the middle. We won't know for
sure how it will all come together until the Friday before the wedding
when we set it all up. There is a wedding on the 7th, but not a
reception. The church is nice enough to allow this because a
hall around here cost around $1000 plus and some do not allow catering,
they want to do it too.
So to make sure it all goes smoothly, all tables will be numbered and the
guest will be given their table number when they come in.
I also have to make an alphabetical list with table numbers. It takes time, but
my years experience with women's retreat and teas have prepared me for this
day and one less thing for the bride to worry about. She checks the lists
and I make changes where needs them to be. Almost all of the RSVP's are in.
We had to call few people up. One uncle of my husband put 6 when only 2 were invited.
My husband had to call him up and tell him he could not do that as the invite was
to him and guest. He was not happy.
My boys went and bought the sparkling cider today. My son Daniel was trying to
get away with buying 1 bottle per table and I told him 2. I said he was lucky he
was not buying champagne which was more expensive. There is no alcohol at the wedding.
But we still no how to have fun without it. We have a large dance floor and a great DJ.
We are lucky that our church allows dancing at weddings as it is a celebration.
The DJ has been informed to watch what songs he plays as far as content in the more
current songs. There will be lots of oldies for the folks our generation.
I go Saturday for my final fitting. I have lost 10 pounds since Jan 3 and all my clothes are
loose now. But my dress is really fitted and still tight in the chest area. I don't want to
have it altered, but will if it is still tight. This mother in law can't be fainting from lack
of oxygen! I am going to buy some waterproof makeup to cause I know I will be crying with happiness!
Hugs
I was at work today, feeling a little under the weather when
I got a phone call from my friend Karyn. Karyn and I serve on the
Women's Ministry Board together along with 4 other women.
I told them I really felt bad that we had 20+ women on the waiting
list for our retreat. The 150 spots were filled quickly.
Well Karyn called the place we are staying and they said they
could not give us anymore rooms. However they just put bunks in
and they could give us the rooms with the bunks. Guess what, that gave us an
additional 27 spots, the number of women on the waiting list!
Isn't God good. Karyn had been saying that she knew that if God
wanted those women to go, the spots would open up. She said she
learned that from me. I know that God puts us together for a reason.
He allows things to happen to test our faith or teach us patience.
I am also excited because my boys are at the men's retreat in San Diego.
Their dad will be joining them there tomorrow. I pray that God will
touch them all and they know how they are blessed.
There are so many things to be thankful for. God always provides. It may not
be in the way we want, but He does know what we really need.
"And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs
from His glorious riches, which have been given to us on Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:16
I felt ok this morning but by afternoon, I did not feel well.
My glands hurt on the side of my neck. I bit the inside of my lips several times. I wonder if it got infected. I plan to go to bed early tonight. I am going to help Marina with the arch and that is it.
My baby girl was 16 on the 15th and she has been celebrating since Friday. On Friday she had 7 friends over for a party. First they had a scavenger hunt and then we went to Islands for dinner. Renee likes the garden burgers there. The girls sat on one booth and Stephanie and I on the other.
Then we all came back for the cake, gifts and prizes. Saturday morning Renee and I went to breakfast and then to get her dress for the wedding. I tried my dress on and it is still tight! So for the next 2 weeks I am going on no carbs, So Beach diet and then I will try it on. It fits in the waist on down but I can't take a full breadth which I will need for dancing. I have not gained any weight thank goodness! Daniel took his sister shopping and the to another birthday party for her and a friend and they spent the night. We all met up at church and then headed out to Irvine to eat at
Mother's Market & kitchen, a vegetarian and healthy food store. I did good and had the southwest salad with black beans, avocado, tomatoes. Then we drove down to the
Irvine Spectrum , which has open air shopping. We also went on the carosul and ferris wheel. It was a beautiful day and the princess is happy. Renee got to invite her boyfriend Tony, and best friend Kaitlyn. Daniel had to work, but Andrew and Marina went. So we are home ready to relax. Then it is excerising everyday from here on out!
I took off work today to attend a funeral. "Nana was the mother of several frineds from church. She was also the granmother to my daughter's boyfriend. It was sad, but at the same time we know we will all be reunited in heaven. It is the first funeral I went to where they released doves into the are. The main dove was released by the husband. There were also Mariachis to play songs that she loved. It was very touching. Luckily I have time to take off from work and I let my daughter miss school. My daughter needs to know I am there for her. I have a good friend who is dying of cancer and I know that her passing will be harder for us. Her daughter is in the wedding in May. It is a beautiful day to day and the Bible says this is the day that the Lord has made. At the service, the pastor spoke of how the grave marker says born on 1932, died 2005 and there is a - in between. At that time he asked for people to share some of the memories that the - meant. It was very touching to her the lives hse touched. The video montage was very special too. Thank you Lord that Chela is now with you. Bless her family and friends!
Its a beautiful breezy, sunny day and today is our women's tea.
I set a table with my pansie plates yesterday and just had to add a few things to
get my table ready today. The tea was just wonderful. My best friend and cousin Joanie was able to come. We had 4 women speak on friendship and at the end we had a video of friends. I did good with my eating there, but I have been eating to much. We set up 15 tables for the tea and we will have 35 tables for the wedding.
Renee and I went shopping yesterday for a personal item for the party today with all the bridesmaids. They are having a scavenger hunt and going out to dinner and then swiming and so on. She was real proud that she picked it out herself. She also helped me decorate my table for the tea. After the tea I came home and took a nap and have been relaxing all day. Have a happy Sunday!
Things should be better by Friday and the PMS+ is over. I think I am going to relax with a cup of soup.
Then maybe scrap or just go to bed early and
Todays Saying: I want to relax!
Todays Saying: Getting organized, planning ahead.
I have made time to scrap a little. I am working on my chronological book. I am in 1977 rightnow and going down memory lane is nice. I am cropping pictures, getting rid of ones that don't matter and being more selective with the pictures. Mind you,I had every picture taken in albums. It took time just to remove these picturesfrom the old sticky albums. Many of them are faded.
I was suppose to go to a large scrap show this Saturday. But a friend who
has cancer is getting worse so my daughter and I went to visit her instead. Then I went to the pool party for women at church and I had a real nice time. Then we had dinners at Andrew and Marina's apartment. We had a real nice time. Church was good as usual. I was suppose to scrap all day, but I took Renee shopping and we were gone a few hours. Well I need to get ready for work. Have a great week! Hugs

1) Are you an organized person? With some things I am. I like my closet to be all organized, all pants together, shirts, dressed. Work clothes one one side, casual on another, shoes in boxes. But my desk today is a mess. It has been like that for the week as I have been busy busy! So I am working on it today.
2) What is one thing about your home that has to be just so or it
drives you crazy when it comes to organization? My living room has to be clean.
3) Do you have one little nuance about your organization that most
people consider to be a little over the top? What is it? The laundry has to be kept sorted. If they just bring down the basket, I won't do it.
4) What is your favorite organizational tool? (bins, closet organizers,
etcetera)See through bins.
5) Where is your favorite place to buy organizational needs?Wal-Mart.

I actully have shoes to wear during the ceremoney. But I want to dance and so do lots of us so we need comfy shoes

My husband and I went to work in different cars today so I could leave after work instead of having to wait 4 hours for him. I picked up Renee and we had lunch at Taco Bell after looking at sandals at Target. Then I made a $400 payment at the rental place for the wedding. Then I enrolled her up for drivers school and she did 2 hours of book work there. I was reading in the car.
Then we decided to go to the movies to see the Beauty shop movie with Queen Latifa. It was pretty good. I think she is a good actress and very pretty. We all watched a documentary called Super Size it. I don't think I can eat much fast food after seeing it. I have virtually cut out hamburgers and fries. My weakness is chips. Not potato chips, just tortilla chips. The dietician for my husband said to change to that if he had to have them. Well time to get back to exercising. I think I would like to go skating. I will hav to check that out! Hugs
We had around 45 women here today and the shower went great! There was so much food! We all went to 1st service and them came home. This was after we decorated the cake table and the outside. The weather was great. I was really so thankful for the help, and especially how my family helped. My mom brought fresh fruit. She it up and arranged it on a platter. She also brough buffalo wings. My sister Ann made potato salad, my sister in law Cyndy made pasta salad and my sister Terry made a veggie and cheese platter. My sister in law Sherry made deviled eggs. Marina's mom Jesica brought friend chicken and made chilli beans. Her mom brought potato salad too. I made a sandwich platter with turkey, roast beef, pastrami and muenster cheese. Marina's Aunt made the cake and cupcakes. Yes cupcakes with strawberry frosting at Marina's request. I was a good girl and had none, though the chocolate bundt cake lloked to die for. I stayed with the fresh fruit. She received so many gifts! She got both "personal things" and housedhold things. She has the basics not to set up her apartment now. She even got a gift card to Staters to buy some food. There was this one cute sexy thing that I just loved. I asked her what size is and that I liked it and my daughter says oh no no way. Then Marina said "someone hide that thing from Susan" Everyone had a good laugh. They laughed when she opened a gift from Reina my dog and there was some of those no nothing undies. Even Marina calls her baby. Well the whole thing was a success. My house is back in order and clean. Andrew is taking me to the apartment on Tuesday evening to see the set up. We are all so blessed! Thank you Lord! Hugs
Today I took the dau pff work to help Marina get into'her new apartment. We also took care some wedding stuff. Later my hubby and I went to drop Renee off and Jr helped Andrew put the bed and table together. Marina's mom brought her a few things too. Daniel came to help put the rest of the chairs together and a shelving unit. We got home around 9pm and I am ready for bed. It will be a busy weekend with shopping and cleaning Saturday and the shower on Sunday. More weeks until the wedding! Hugs
The weather was crazy today! Sunny in the early morning, hard rain in the morning, windy then sunny. I am watching the weather closely with the shower coming up. Nothing like a party to get the house clean and oragnized. I got my linen closet done today. I went in for a fitting for my dress and it is a bit tight! So I need to lose another pound to pound and a half. So tomorrow I plan to really cut back and exercise. I ate to much this weekend! I had a nice Easter. It was wonderful to have our opening service on Easter. We broke tradition this year and did not get together with family. We went to lunch at the Macaroni grill and the food was great! We took a few pictures and the kids went to an Easter picnic. Jr. and I went to Lowes to get some flowers for our garden. There were lots of butterflies all over! Must be from all the flowers that are blooming from all the rain!
Well I need to get going. Hugs
Last night was the last meeting with my group
on Freedom from depression. We had a potluck
and it was great! We got to look back at the
first meeting and what we were feeling 12 weeks
ago. 12 weeks later, watching the smiles on the girls faces was great.
We have come through a lot together.
So what did we learn? That we are not alone.
That there is no shame or fear to keep us down.
We learned to set boundaries, and ask for help.
We have choices about many things. But the main thing
is that we have a God who loves us and a church that
wants the best for us. We have new friendships.
Thank you Lord!
Toward the end, one of the girls got up 'cause I thought
she was not feeling well. One of the girls started thanking me
and I was sharing that I was happy to be used by God.
God allowed me to go through what I did to be able to
be used by Him to serve others. Rick Warren's book called
The Purpsose Driven Life says that we were created for a purpose
to serve God. Earlier today my daughter and I and Andrew and Marina all went to the church to clean up. It opens up on Sunday! After the clean up we went to a coffee house to hear a Christian band that Marina's dad is in. It is called the Steve Riddle Band. Then I had to go to Walmart to buy some spring flowers to plant. The weather is finally sunny and will be through Easter. Then another storm is due. I hope it will be sunny on the 3rd cause that is the shower for Marina. Time to get ready for bed. Have a great weekend! Hugs
I went to the Dr. today and he said that I still have
some infection, but I am healing. I can bend my finger a little more. I still have to soak it and take my antibiotics. He said take Motrin too for inflamation. He said that human bites are the most dangerous, then cats, then dogs. He laughed when I told him my dog and I were battling over my banana and I lost. My son took me to my appointment. We had lunch with Marina, ordered the items for the rental place and bought the sodas and water for the shower. Last night my husband and I went on a tour of the new church. The greeters and ushers met last night. Tonight it was teachers and music. Another group meets Thursday. We are 95% sure we open Easter Sunday! It is amazing to see how God has built our church. Sunday will ne so special! Hugs
I went to the Dr today and my finger is infected. It was a long and busy week. I decided to go to bed early so I took a banana and some milk and set it on my night stand. I went to the bathroom and when I came back, the banana was gone. I knew it was Reina. I put my hand under the bed, heard a growl and then crunch. Reina bit my index finger and it was very painful. Renee came over and saw that I was bleeding and called my husband. I knew I had to wash it out so I went to the bathroom. As I was rinsing my finger, my hubby searched for the peroxide and Neosporin. As I was standing there, I felt faint and I just laid down before I passed out. He treated my finger and then I went to bed. He was nice enought to give me a towel for my head and ice for my finger. Meanwhile, Reina had left the room and was getting a 2nd scolding. Later she jumped on the bed and carefull inched her way to me and then went on her side. That stinker knew she was bad and was trying to make up. Here I am typing without using my sore finger. I love my dog and I know that what I did was dumb and she is a dog that does not like people to grab her food when she is eating. I know that we will have to watch her more closely when small children & future kids come. Well I am off to bed to read. I plan to sleep in tomorrow. Have a great weekend. Hugs
First of all I slept in cause I really needed to catch up with my sleep.
I took Renee to her friends and then home to do work. I had my Christian radio station on loud so I could walk from one room to the other singing along. Lots os laundy today. My hubby and I went out to dinner and talked about the wedding. I am enjoying my sugarfree coffee and I update here and then I plan to read my Bible before bed. Thank you Lord. for the car I can drive, the washing machine to wash, the radio to listen to, good food to eat and time with my family. Amen!
Hugs

Today's Saying:Our church is 13 years old today and our new church opens on Easter Sunday! I am so excited. Andrew and Marina will be getting married there in 2 months. They were working on the invitations this evening. I got more things done today. I had to clean the refrig. today cause a can of coke prayed open. What a mess! But it is clean and shiny again. Off to bed. Hugs
Today's Saying: Thanking the Lord for time well spent.

My Dr. called and told me my cholesterol came back high and I have to go on meds. I have to get blood dawn now to check my liver and Kidney functions for a baseline before I start the meds. High cholesterol runs in my family. So now I will have to watch the cholesterol thing again. I will cut back on meets and my anemia will probably come back. I know that exercise is important so I have been walking and I am using real light weights(2lbs) I am reading another good book on my break at work. It is called Standing Firm and I am really enjoying it. My last Secret Sister at church gave it to me. My mind is on so many things with the wedding and the shower and I know I need my devotions and quiet time. I am also looking forward to decorating Andrew's room to be my quiet office/craft/reading room. I will move my prayer basket in there. I want to paint the walls a yellow/gold and make curtains. I will look at Wal-Mart to find a nice country style bedspread. I want to move my country stuff there from my family room. Andrew needs to take his Star Wars stuff off the wall soon and start packing them. He wants to leave his desk there but I like my own desk. Actually, I would like something smaller, but I don't have the funds for it. Especially with the wedding. Plus Renee and I want bikes and I need to put those on law away. Oh I need to get addresses to Marina because the invitations are due in any day now. I better get busy!
Whenever I can get to Wed. night Bible study, I leave feeling spiritually refreshed
and challenged. I love learning new things from the Bible. Yesterday I went to a design center called Shinoda's. I found some items for the centerpiece and set it up for Andrew and Marina to see. Today I went to Party City and found some black plates for the snack plates for the wedding. I will explain that later. The tablecloths were on sale too so I got those and some items for the shower. Did I mention the shower has bee moved to my home
. We mail out the invitations on Monday and Tuesday we get a call from the church saying we can't have it there that date. So we decided to keep the date and have it here. So that means we have several things to do to get ready like moving furniture around and basic spring cleaning. The weather is unpredictible in April but you have heard of April showers. Andrew and I are discussing the rehearsal dinner and the $$$ are growing
. I am ok. We stopped by the new church after Bible study and prayed and we are trusting in God in for everything. The facility is almost ready. The sod is planted and the last of the palm trees planted. The split rail fencing is set up by the horse trails. Norco has strict rules providing one side of the street to prove horse trails. Volunteers will be cleaning the rooms on Saturday. Then men's Promise Keepers will be putting tables and furniture together on Monday night. I would love to help on Saturday, but Marina and I already made plans to go back to Shinoda's to get the centerpiece items. We figure we can get each table done for $10 and we have 30 tables. Well I am off to bed now. Hugs and blessings to you.
Marina and I went to the Bridal Show today and we had a real nice time. Marina received 2 roses at the Fasion show. They had about 6 future grooms go up and they had a leg judging. It was funny! The man who won just got back fom Iraq. Afterwards, we went to the mall to eat. As we got there, Anrew called and they were there too so we all met up and ate. Renee wanted to look at bras. We went to a place called Things Remembered. We picked out the cake server and knife which is a gift from Renee. She will take it to the shower which is on Aprik 3rd. The invitations should be going out tomorrow. Well I am off to see Oprahs movie with Haley Berry. Hugs
My sons's wedding is on May 14. He is meeting Marina. They met at church youth when he was 16 and she was 14. He is now 24 and she will be 22 this month. I found my dress today after looking at several books and having my miss tell you like it is daughter do her commentary on each dress. Then the owner showed me a dress and I tried it on and I loved the way it fit my body. Thank goodness I lost those 6 pounds. I need to lose 1 more pound and work out my arms now for the next month. The dress has a beaded bodice that fits above the breast and had thin straps. It has a clear wrap that I will wear during the wedding, but will be removed at the dance when the lights are low. Everyone is wearing black except the bride and flower girl. It will look so elegant with pearls. I will be making all the girls bracelets and Marina is giving them necklaces and earrings. Tomorrow Marina and I are going to a large Bridal show at the Riverside Convention Center. The shower is set for April 3. Things will be moving quicly from this point on. After meeting at the place, we went out for lunch and then we went to the place where we will order the cake. Marina's mom and sister were with us. It was a nice outing. I have to get ready for our marriage group now so I am off. Oh, I am getting a new washer and dryer on Monday. They are very much needed. At least the apartments Andrew and Marina want come with a washer and dryer off the kitchen. My water bill will come down after Andrew leaves since he showers 3 times a day! Hugs and blessings!
While I was without a computer for a week, I realized how much time spent on the computer and how much I got done while I was off it. So will will limit my time depending on what my schedule is like and how I am feeling. I have been more tired and I am listening to my body. I am busy with church activities and my son's wedding is just a few months off and we are getting busier with that. Work has been real busy and I am sure that is one reason I have been more tired. I have also started scrapbooking and that takes time. I have 30 years work of pictures to get done. I am not rushing it, because then I would be stressed and I don't need that.
It is nice to be back. But I did get a lot done while I was wiith out this little old box. I gotto scrapbook and get some fileing done and got thi computer desk all cleaned up. I got some much needed sleep. I went to the Dr's on Thursday and told her how I have been tired lately. She was happy I lost 6 pounds as long as it was from my new eating habits. I went todayget bllod drawn after a 14 hour fast. They took for tubes of bllod. Then Renee and I went to eat and the we got the computer. We also got a few scrapbooking items. It was a nice day. The whole family just finished watching the movie Ladder 49 with John Travolta. It was a real good movie about firefighters. Well I am off to get ready for bed. I have a busy day tomorrow with church, a meeting with the bridesmaids and the the Oscars. Have a great Sunday! Hugs
I was off work yesterday and got my hair cut, colored and styled.
I got rid of the highlights and am a dard auburn brown. I also made my hair appointment for the wedding which is now 3 months away. Last night was the Servants banquet and it was held at the Eagle Glen Country Club. This is the one time where everyone gets to dress up. I wore pants this year since it has been pouring. I wore some black dress pants and black top and then an off white
crochet shawl. Everyone said I looked nice. Everyone did! My boys and Marina sat at our table and we got an idea for the wedding. They had a beautiful table centerpiece that I forgot to take a picture of. Then they had 2 plates with crackers and grapes. Marina and Andrew suggested we do the same thing for the wedding, and adding cheese slices. Yu know something they can munch on while we take the pictures after the wedding, but before the food. I really need to start looking for a dress. I want to lose about 3-4 pounds, but that should still be a size 8.
Well I need to get going here. My marriage group is coming ouver for dinner and I have things to get done. Oh, my friend who is in our group will be taking my comuter to service it, so I wont ' be here for a few days.
I will keep track of my treat week and Monday it is a holiday so I plan to go to the movies to see Million Dollar Baby. Bye for now. Hugs

I have been reading up a storm and enjoying it.
I am lucky to have the time to read and I am a multibook reader.
I am currently reading about 5 books right now. So how do I do that?
I read the books at different times of the day. God is showing me so many things. I am off tomorrow and need to get some housework. We are having our marriage group over on Saturday. The house is tidy so just a few cleaning things. Tomorrow is the servants banquet and I am having my hair done because it needs it! Going to wash that gray right out of my hair. So since I need a cut and color, I will get a style for the banquet!
Recovery group was good tonight. The women are doing great and I love the bond we form as we open up and share and trust. I stayed up late to back up my files. My computer is acting weird and making a beeping sound. So I am prepared to have it checked on Saturday. My friend Cliff from our marriage group is my computer guy. Well I am off to bed. Bye for now. Hugs
Church was great today! Pastor Jim talked about letting go of the things from the past that keep us in bondage. When we accepted Christ, He took those things from us. Now we are to press foward and keep our eyes and heart focued on Him.
So the only thing I am looking back to are the pictures I am working on, getting 30 years of pictures in order. I mean lots of them are in order, but need to be placed in new books that won't do anymore damage to the pictures. I also got to work on my adoption cottage, deleting things to make more room on my site. Now I am getting ready to watch the Grammy's. Oh, poor Raina got her eye scratched by a cat on Saturday so there we were oof to emergency again. She got some antibiotics and is doing well. She loves to spend my $$$! Well I am off. Hugs

This has been a super busy week! I am still feeling tired so I need to make a Dr.s appointment. We watched Shall We Dance with Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon and Jennifer Lopez. It was a really good movie. I would love to take dancing lessons with my husband. We both need to exercise and regular exercise is so boring. I have always liked the dance movies like Saturday Night Fever and FlashDance. I know that when Andrew gets married, we are going to dance for hours! Maybe if I got more exercise, I would feel better. My recover group went well last night. It goes until the end of March. Then I am off for 3 months. Just in time for the final preparations of the wedding. My husband and I are going to go away for a day or so after the wedding to just relax. Tomorrow should be a relaxing day. We might go to the movies. We also got a few other movies to see here like Shark Tales. Well I am off. God bless you all! Hugs
I know when God talked to me. I will read the same thing
or hear the same thing over and over again. So I am taking some time to
meditate on His Word and what He is telling me.

I slept another 12 hours and I have felt great! I got AF so that is why I must be so tired. My hubby made a potroast day and I just cooked barley. He added it to the potroast. We took Reina for a walk today and a neighbor had 3 shelving units for sale. So we bought them for our garage. This was help us get things more organized. 2 of our shelves need to be thrown out. The third shelf is for the weight equipment. Well I am off to scrap for awhile. Hugs

1. Do you follow any kind of fitness routine? If so, what?
I am just starting to exercise again.
2. Do you prefer to exercise alone at home, or in a class or gym?
3. What is your favorite healthy recipe? Fresh Veggies
4. If you could give just one fitness tip, what would it be?
Drink lots of water!
I slept for 12 hours. I did not feel good yesterday and slept until 12 noon. I ate somthing yesterday that did not agree and I had a headache so I did not go to work and got that much needed sleep. I feel better now. I have been reading the Makers diet and it really makes you stop and think about how un- natural a lot of food is with all the additives not to mention all the products we use. No wonder there are so many illnesses in our modern society. Well I am off to bed. Take care. Hugs
I guess it is time for a Dr. visit. I know I need more sleep. I can't stay up late anymore. I am changing my eating habits and I think my body is protesting. I have to get my blood tested again to see if I am still anemic. I am eating soy products and more nuts and fruit and veggies. I get full sooner too. My husband made reservations for our Valentine's dinner at this cute little Italian place. I haven't been eating much pasta so I will have to go easy since I love bread with the basalmic oil and vinegar. Well I am off to bed. Hugs
I got this saying in an email today and it really touched me.
Today was another day away from home, but nice. Church was great. More women signed up for the Ladies retreat. Then we went for lunch, later to our married group. We had a real nice time, dinner and flan for desert, a Mexican custard. So I blew my diet. I am watching American Dreams on tv while I get caught up on my emails.
Here is my Sunday Brunch
1) Do you use bookmarks? Yes and I collect them too!
2) What is your favorite book? My Bible! Then God With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
3) Who is your favorite author? Currently Max Lucado
4) What is the movie you feel is the most authentic version of a book?
Well all I can say is Gone with the Wind is one of my favorite fims.
The movie would have been longer had they not left things out.
I read the book 7 times in Jr High and it's 1037 pages.
5) Is there a book you wish they would make into a movie and why?
I can't think of anything right now.
I have entertained the thought of writing a devotional.
I am off to see a Hallmark movie. Have a great week! Hugs
I got to sleep in til 10:00 am today and it felt great! Then my husband and I went to see The Aviator, the Howard Hughes story and it was a great movie. It was long, but well worth it. I wish the ending had been different, but now I want to learn more about him. I have seen the Spruce Goose up close anf it is huge! After the movies, we went grocery shopping. We spent more time reading the ingredients, checking for carbs and sugar contents. We bought ground flax seed to put in our low carb yogurt. We got lots of fruits and veggies. We got balck beans, lentils and barley. I want to make a soup with those ingredients. Actually I want to teach my daughter since she is a vegetarian. I got a new book to read called the Makers diet. It is real interesting. The men are watching the God Father and I plan to go take a hot bath and read. I wish everyone a great week!

I am still feeling great after my weekend getaway.
I have been spending more time reading my Bible and just meditating on
what God and what I learned. Bible study was great. We are learning about Moses. God wants him to go to Egypt and Moses says he is not good at speaking. In the New Testament. it says that Moses was trained in Pharoahs court and was a learned man. Sounds like is is afraid. God uses ordinary men to do extraordinary things! When I was in Arizona, we went to this swapmeet and I got the cutest mini doxie stuffed animal. I had to get her.
Here she is. Isn't she cute! Hugs
I got back from Arizona today. We were in Goodyear Arizona which is about 20 minutes outside of Phoenix. The conference was hosted by Skyway Church in Goodyear. The women were so friendly and the conference was just awesome! Rita Springer's
music was just great! as were the speakers of theFragrant Oil ConferenceI liked hearing God is my King and I am his princess. I learned so many things this weekend and had a great time of fellowship with my friends.
I blew my diet when I was gone, but I will start up again Monday. The hotel we had had a full order buffet breakfast and of course we ate out. We laughed because we had to stop by a Wal-Mart while we were there. The weather was nice, just like here. Well I need to get ready for work and then some much needed sleep. Hugs and blessings!

I took a day off work to take Renee to the orthdantist. I had to get a few things done to before my weekend getaway. Dinner was real nice with the whole family. The boys cooked steaks and I made veggies. Renee made pasta. We prayed and then talked about the wedding which is May 14. We are looking at a guest list of 300. I am going to a conference this weekend so I won't be back until Sunday.

It was a great day today. We all went to church and then we went to Hometown Buffet for lunch. I did pretty well in watching what I ate. Then Renee and I went to Michael's to get her some scrapbooking stuff. We start tomorrow, finally! I put away the last of the Christmas stuff today. The only thing left is the big tree and the boys need to take it down. I exercised today for 30 minutes in our garage with the boys and Marina. We had music on and it felt great. I am watching the Golden Globes and enjoying a cup of honey lemon chamomille tea to help me relax. I have a holiday tomorrow for Maring Luther King day and so I get to sleep in! Reina will be happy to have me home. Well I have to go get Renee at the movies. Sure will be glad when she can drive! Hugs
This morning as my husband and I left to work at 5:30am, we we noticed a few helicopters overhead in the canyon , but more toward us. When we got to work, I got a phone call from my father in law telling me he had to leave his home because the Prado dam was leaking and they were evacuating his area. Could he go to our house. Of course I said yes. Then I called my son and asked him to get his downstairs room ready and clean the bathroom. My mother in law is on kidney dialysis and needs to be calm so I wanted her to be able to rest. So all those copters were news copters. Then my father in law called back in hour later saying he was still there, but packed if they had to leave. Meanwhile, he had lots of newspeople at his place. He actually lives on the hill and the mobile park is below him and they were evacuated. A total of 2000 people were sent to the Corona High where my daughter goes. Things turned out ok. They army corp of engineers is draining the dam and the golf course is flooded and we have never seen so much water going down the Santa Ana Riverbed. They should have it drained enough to work on the cracks.
Okay well my husband and I left work early because he already had a Dr appointment to learn more about his pre-diabetes. But first we stopped at lunch at this place called Olivia's and we had grilled salmon, veggies and fresh out of the pot beans. It was very good! The class was very informative. We learned a lot about what diabetes is and how sugar and insulin work. Then a nutritionist talked about meal planning. We both weighed ourselves and took our blood pressure. Mine was fine and my hubbys was a little on the high side of normal. I lost 2 pounds! So the key is to exercise and watch the carbs. Well I am still putting away ornaments. Why so long? I have so many and now I am writing down what I have.
Our friend Nancze is a grammie now and I am happy for her. We prayed for her son to come home from war and now a baby is here. Praise God! My firstborn son Andrew turns 24 tomorrow so we will be celebrating this weekend. Hugs
Yes I dropped a heavy ornament on some of the glass ornaments and they broke to pieces. One of them was one we had from when we were first married. So I am a little sad, but I do have one more just like it. I will have to be more careful. On a good note, our Women's Minsitry prayer meetings went well last night. We board members met with the Bible study facilitators and the worship team to go over the goals for 2005. We started out with signing, I presented the the various things to the women and there was great feedback and support. We ended with prayer. So I am excited to see what God will do with our ministry. We should be moving into our brand new facility soon after being at schools for 12 years. Well I am off to put away more ornaments!

I have ornaments everywhere! I actually put them back in the boxes so it takes awhile. I am sorting some out to give away, some to Andrew for his first Christmas. But I take a break and come here.
Hugs!
I had 12 hours of sleep! I sure needed it. I had such a busy schedule and needed. I woke up with sinuses bothering me. I was dreaming about my grandma Louisa. I could see her face and hear her voice. I sure miss her. Well I got the ornaments off the tree and now they are waiting to be packed up. At least the boys can take the tree down. As I was taking down my ornaments, I realized there was one I thought I had but didn't. It was the Noah's Ark. Luckily the Hallmark store has 2 they are holding for me. I am also setting aside some ornaments to give to Andrew and Marina for their first Christmas next year.
My group on Thursday went well. We all agreed that is great to be able to open up and share and someone else knows just how you feel! Medication was the big topic. I remember when I told my pastor that I finally was on medication. I remember my pastor saying. "If a diabetic needs to take medicine to function normally, then the person that is depressed has the same option." Then he asked me if it worked and I said YES! and he said Praise God. I know some women on the net share it. There are lots of women who suffer with depression and are afriad to admit it. There is hope out there. Need to talk? Email me. Hugs
Yes back to work and church activities. Last night I had a board meeting with the women at Marie Calendars and I had a great salad and some potato cheese soup. Tonight was Bible study and that was great and tomorrow we start our new recovery groups and I have 8 ladies signed up for my group.
Small groups should not be more that 10 people. Our topic will be recovering from Depression. I have involved in a nutrition group now and I am getting ready to scrapbook so there are some new links at the bottom. More rain is on the way too.
I am off to bed now. Sure need the sleep. Hugs
It has been a relaxing day today. I slept in until noon again. I had left over with the food we had last night. Later we had shrimp cocktails with the salsa my husband made. We bought the large cooked shrimp on sale which we soaked with lime juice. Then we added chopped celery, cucumbers, tomatoes, and avocados. We had chips to go with it. This is what we get when we go to this Mexican Seafood place. It was yummy! It has been cold for So CA, 55 for the hight is cold and 30's at night. There is lots of snow at the local mountains and still another week of rain is due. Well I am off to see a movie with my hubby. Hugs
