Todays Sayings:Caught in the middle....

I guess I have the after Christmas downer. There is so much I have to do and think about. I started taking down some outside decorations and the lights will come down on Monday. I have the box ready for them. I want to do some thing today but I just needed a break. Jr and I went out to breakfast at a new place today that we enjoyed. Then we wer at Lowe's going over the options of flooring for the 2nd floor. We are going to have them come and give us an estimate. We got a few things and came home. The kitchen cabinets are not coming out quite the way we were expecting and we may just paint them white. I showed a picture to Jr that we had take at a model and he liked it and so did Andrew. I think I want to look at some model homes for more ideas. Maybe tomorrow after church, rather after lunch. Well I better get back to packing. Hugs

Todays Sayings:Christmas is still going....

I got money from my parents and my sons so I went shopping yesterday and today.Yesterday my husband, Daniel my son and I went to the movies but it was so crowded that we decided not to go. We had lunch at Market broiler. I had Atlantic Salmon with red potatoes and veggies. It was so good! We went into Ontaio Mills and I found this cute Bear at Hallmark, dressed in a sombrero and serape and it plays Feliz Navidad and moves. I got it for 50% Off. Then we headed to Living Spaces and I found some couches I liked. But we went to another store and we found the kitchen set we both liked. They deliver on January 6th. Today I bought the dishes I had my eyes on from Bed Bath and Beyond. My kitchen has gone from country to modern. They are almost done in the kitchen. The new fan went up today. The knobs are going in and then I can clean things out on the weekend and put things away. Well I am off to soak in a bubble bath and read my newest book. I have to work tomorrow. Bye for now. Hugs

Todays Sayings:Merry Christmas/Feliz Navidad!

Last night we had a tamale dinner at the Pedroza Sr's. We always bring tamales home and have then for breakfast. There were beef, pork, jalapeno/cheese, veggie and sweet tamales. I like to eat them with either a squueze of lemon or sourcream. We eat breakfast after we open the stocking gifts.

Here is a picture of the beef and veggie.
Can you guess which is veggie.

Reina opened her gift and enjoyed it while sitting between my legs. It was funny because she kept sinking lower and lower. She did not want to be moved either. She likes the blanket my friend Olivia made me. Joanie gave me several gifts the other day when she, Olivia, Alice and I got together for our Chritmas get together and gift exchange. They all got me a combined gift from NY which included a bag that I can keep my knitting in.

Andrew and Marina got my my Charlie Brown Nativity to add to my collection along with some DVDs and money. They also got us dishes. Renee got me 2 books,a bookmark,2 ornaments and Daniel got me money which will go toward more dishes. Jr got me a huge jewelry box. My parnets will hand out gifts later when we go to their house for dinner. I need to prepare my candied yams not and take a bath in the bath salts my friend Alice gave me.

Thanks Johanne!

Todays Sayings: The Shopping is done.

We slept in today and it was warmer than usual, almost 75. We went yo Denny's for breakfast and then to Sam's Club whick was very busy. We got a couple of Christmas CD's and Baked Doggie Cookies. Made me think of Daylynn who does her own baking. We got the stocking gifts and we are finished. I am eating a Chocolate cake we got from Davi's wife. David is the one doing our cabinets. They own a French Restaraunt that we plan to go to in the future. I finished another scarf and I may keep this one. My dad asked for one of my scarfs and I happen to have one in mind for him. Well I need to wrap the last of the gifts. Have a Happy Sunday. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Things are coming together.

I finihsed wrapping most of my gifts tonight. I hated to miss Bible study, but I know my limits and I just can't stay up late anymore. I was talking to my dad today about how our ideas on life change as we get older. Dad talked on how he and mom are so blessed to have their kids and grandkids. I am blessed to have my family and friends and as I get older I realize how much they mean to me.... how much I love them. Material things are nice but time with family is more important. I love the little siggy below. When I saw this tree, it reminded me of the Christmas tree drawings I did as a child. It was another great Christmas memory.

Dec 19, 2006
Todays Sayings: Thank you for Cliff who fixes my computer.

I messed my computer up and Cliff was nice enough to come down on Monday and fix it. He also put up my new 19 inch flat screen monitor which I am not sure if I like. Maybe I need to adjust the colors because it seems so washed out and I changed the fonts and not they are too big. Oh well, I don't have much time since I am still trying to get presents done and my sinuses are bothering me again. Then it is real cold for us here today with the highs only in the 50's. Even now it is 39 out and going down to 39 going down to 32. This is sunny CA? Oh well I have lots of warm things to wear. The Santa Ana dry winds make it hard. But overall things are good. Isn't the siggy below cute. My husband says that is me decorating everything! haha, Hugs

Dec 16, 2006
Todays Sayings: Thank you for the rain.

We really do need the rain so I am glad for it. I have been busy "organizing" There is just so much to do with Christmas and remodeling going on at the same time. Our garage is a natural disaster as things are dumped in there. At the same time there is satisfaction knowing we are decluttering our home. So much can accumulate over the years. When we are through with the kitchen, we are going to put new flooring on the 2nd floor. So that means we have to pack up things so furniture can be moved when the laminate is put in. Last night we watched World Trade Center at it was a good reminder of how our country worked together in the face of disaster. It was nice having the fireplace on and snuggled with our blankets. I know I need these breaks in the midst of all that is going on. Working on my site is relaxing too. Well I need get some lunch now for my hubby and I. Have a great Sunday! Hugs

Dec 14, 2006
Todays Sayings: Got money???

We went shopping today for new bathroom faucets, a ceiling fan for the kitchen, 2 medicine cabinets and a few other things. Our cabinets are getting refaced and are all off right now. Another week of no cooking. I actually miss home made food. I was sick for a few days with a sinus pain and pms, but I feel much better today. I have been taking 1000 mg vitamin C and I think that has helped. We watched The Devil Wears Prada last night and I thought it was good. I am trying to get more sleep so I am off to bed. Oh, I added a picture to the remodel. Bye

Thanks for the gify Cindy!

Todays Sayings: A variety of weather.

It was in the 30's last night and it was so cold this morning. Then as I got to Orange County, it became very foggy. Then it cleared up to a bright and sunny day. When I got home it got up to 80! I sat out on the porch working on crafts. I had the dogs in the pen.

Renee and I went shopping to look for things for her winter formal. Then I came home and had a nice hot shower and then came to play here for awhile. I need to get back to my crafts. I did take a picture of Reina but I will post it later. Hugs

Dec 3, 2006
Todays Sayings: A day of peace.

Today was a much better day.Andrew and I saw Phantom of the Opera last night at it was really good. It is a musical and I enjoyed it. I would see it again too. My cousin got me the DVD when she was in NYC this summer. Andrew got to see it when he was 11 in Los Angeles at the Pantages. His teacher took him. He loves musical soundtracks. I got a good nights sleep and today was much better. Church was good as always. Aferwards I went to a craft fair, but I did not buy anything. The one thing I liked was not for sale. Then I went to the market to get some groceries. Renee and I went to see The Nativity Story I really enjoyed watching the Bible come to life. I want to go see it again with Jr. I was not raised Catholic, and did not understand why Mary was always revered. But once I became a mother and then went back to church, I could relate to the "women revered above all women" I have not had a chance to put um my Nativity sets with all the stuff going on, but I pan to starting tonight. I got one when I was in Alaska. I plan to take pictures and make a page for them at my Christmas site.
While we were at the movies, we saw the preview to Charlottes Pig. Her most favorite animal(pig) with the most feared one(spider) together. It reminds me of being in summer school in the 3rd grade for reading of all things. Later we realized it was not that I could not read, it was that I could not sit still and pay attention. Luckily for me, I was better able to focus and I became a little bookworm, still am. ~Let It Snow~By the way...
Does it snow where you live? No, not is So Calif 30 miles from the coast. If not, have you ever seen snow in person? Yes when I got to the local mountains. I was there last March.

Do you like snow or do you consider it a nuisance?
Since I do not live in it, no, I like it.
Do you have any experience with shoveling snow?No
Have you ever built a snowman? Yes last March
Would you prefer Christmas with snow or without?
Since it does not snow here, I would say without.
If you could hit anyone with a snowball right now,
who would it be?(all in good fun)Darylynn or Dru since they are SO CA girls like me and no local snow.

Have a wonderful week. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Winter blues go away.

It all started out with a bad dream. My daughter was nice enough to bring French toast dips for breakfast and I spilled the sryup all over my new tablecloth. Luckily it is plastic. I end up going back to bed and sleeping until noon. I know that having boxes all over the dining room was getting to me. Then we were suppose to go to a Christmas party and my husband said he did not feel well. So we stayed home, missing the steak and chicken dinners. But I did take a long hot bath and put on my Eeyore snowman pjs and had a turkey sandwich. Daniel put some boxes in the garage for me and that helped. Andrew and I are going to watch Phantom of the Opera together. My cousin Joanie got it for me when she was in NY this past summer. I did get to make some Christmas vase decorations. I was going to take them to the party as gifts. I will give them away for Christmas.

November 30 2006
Todays Sayings: It's freezing in here!

We got the Santa Ana winds from the gulf of Alaska and it has been so cold! Because we have been doing work aroud the house, we have not turned on the heater yet. We got a new water heater today. David starts the cabinets next week. I am enjoying my chinese goulash soup left over from yesterday. I have my recovery meeting tonight and then one more and then I am done. I am so tired but I have to go, I am the faciltator! We decorated the tree last night and I took pictures. I plan to put them up at my family site tomorrow. I gave everyone a new ornament. I have bought several for my self over the past few months. I am in the Christmas mood, We have seen the Charlie Brown Christmas and Rudolf this week. I really like to see the Christmas Carol with Alistar....? I remember my 7th grade English teacher reading it to us and she was so good and I enjoyed it. The Nativity story starts Friday and we hope to see it this weekend. Well I have to go now. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Things are coming together!

Yesterday we went to Home Depot and got our swichplates and electrical covers. We got new lights for the kitchen and a new disposal. Later I went with my cousin Joanie and we worked on our Christmas cards. Every year we put music on, have tea and rubber stamp our envelopes. David the jack of all trades is here today installing the stovetop. sink and dishwasher. He is also going to redo our cabinets. Hubby put the gas top on and the switchplates. So things are coming together. It is so cold today so the first thing we plan to make on the new stove is Mexican hot chocolate. I redid my Adoption Cottage to Christmas and I just added some more winter siggies. I also got a card from Nancze today.

Todays Sayings: Happy Thanksgiving!

Hubby is rinsing out my yams in the bathtub so I can cook them in the oven. I usually cook them on the stove, but we have no stove or woring sink at the moment. There are new pictures on the rRemodel link to the right. I am enjoying my morning coffee this morning before the day gets to busy. My husband and I will be drivng to my sister's home in Temecula for Thanksgiving. I have no much to be thankful for this day. For my God, for my family and friends and as Denise says, for all the "fluff" I will be changing over my blog in the next few days even though fall is still here until Dec 20. Todays Sayings: So many things to choose from....

I took a sinus pill last night and I was sleep most of the day today. The granite guy came and took measurements today. Then we went to the Wherehouse to look at the slabs. There is a new picture added to the remodel link. The picture does not show how pretty it looks and then when they finish it and polish it, the granite really shines. We selected the edging and decided not to go with a rounded edge. They will take out the tile on Monday and they should be back the 25th to install it.
I hosted a jewelry party at my friends house today and I got a few piece sfor free and a purse at 1/2 price. When I got home, I was packing my kitchen cabinet stuff and we are getting rid of a lot. I will need to clean the cabinets and re-paper. I will be posting before and after pictures. Well I am off to pack some more things. Have a blessed Sunday. Hugs

November 14, 2006
Todays Sayings:Lots of things happening today.

I got a book in the mail today from an author who spoke at our retreat a few years ago. She wrote a note saying "thanks for sharing" but she did not sign the book. Then I found the quotes she had taken from me and that was cool except she used Sue instead of Susan. I am not a Sue so I felt a little out of sorts of a few minutes and then I had to let it go. On the weather front....It was drizzling this morning and the sun was out when we came home. It will warm up for a few days and and then get cool. My roses are still blooming and I picked a long stemmed red rose. I packed up some of my fall things today because I need to stay ahead of myself with the remodeling around the corner. We picked out a black stove top with 4 burners. We were looking at the 36 inch, but it was a lot more and we do not want to lose counter space. We also picked out the dishwasher which will be black panel too. We are going tomorrow to look at sinks and faucets. We decided on our granite and Jr. called the guy up to let him know. I got my homework done for Darylynn and you can see the link to the right. I tried to find pictures, but I ran out of time. As you can see, my thoughts are all over so I am off to bed now. Goodnight and God bless you! Hugs

November 13, 2006
Todays Sayings: I am back from Running Springs

I got home around 10pm. We did not leave until 6:30 pm and it was 32 degrees. We had such a nice time! I have pictures but I need to find a new program to reduce the size of my pictures. I got my computer upgraded and cleaned out and the program I was using is gone because I conflicted with mew stuff. So once I figure it out, I can upload some pictures. I also need to work on my Nov. homework for Darylynn and that will keep me busy the next day. The granite guy came yesterday and left samples and gave an estimate. We are thinking of doing our downstairs bathroom too. I went to my parents today and saw their kitchen and it looks wonderful! I can hardly wait except for the mess. Well that is part of it. I am off now. Have a great week. Hugs

November 9, 2006
Todays Sayings: Going away again to relax.

My friends Debbie and Kelli and I are going to Running Springs for some R & R. We plan to just take our time, set our own pace and enjoy some fall days. We go away every fall. Just so happens it was back to back for me. I have my scrapping stuff packed, knitting and my Bible. My clothes are washed and I will finish packing in the morning. I am really excited about this weekend. The cool weather is back and I will enjoy snuggling with a blanket sipping hot chocolate and just taking an easy pace. Of course we may do some shopping and that is fine with me. Hugs

November 6, 2006
Todays Sayings: Sinking my teeth into changes.

This pertains to changes in my spiritual and physical life. I just came back from my women's retreat in the mountains and it was great! An with the end of this retreat, I end my time on the Women's Ministry Board. I have served since 1995 and it has been a blessing to use the gifts God has blessed me with. I have a lot of peace about this. I will continue to serve with recovery ministry as a a lay counselor. When I first starting going to my church in 1993, I served as a Sunday school teacher and teaching is one of my gifts so I may go back to that, but the clear message I get is to spend more time with my parents and that means visiting more on the weekends.

I went to the dentist today and only had 2 cavaties. I was expecting worse things. I also had my teeth cleaned and I was actually more calm through the process. I was asking about the random pain I was having and she said it was the pressure my sinues were putting on the nerves of my teeth. So that can be controlled with Motrin. Finally, I need to take care of myself better. I have been going crazy with the candy and sweets and I need to drastically cut back on that. My husband and I are trying to decide if we are going to do something after Thanksgiving since he is off. We are thinking of going to Julian. I iwill be checking it out online. Well I need to go now. Here is a picture of my friends and I in our room at> Pinecrest Conference Center in Twin Peaks.

November 1, 2006
Todays Sayings: Seasons change and I am enjoying fall!

Last night our church had it's annual "Trunk and Treat". People decorate the trunks of their cars and pass out candy as the kids make the rounds. There were lots of cars and from what I could see, the kids were really raking in the candy! My husband and I did a game booth this year. It was a bean bag toos/throw. The kids had to get a bean bag in a can or basket. It was very interesting to see the different personalities come out in the kids as they took thier turns. Once they knew they were getting candy regardless, they were freer to enjoy themsleves. There was free popcorn, snowcones, cotton candy, hot dogs and hot chocolate, punch, coffee and water. Did I mention candy??? The band was set up in a large flatbed and there were 2 moonjumps. Here are a couple of pictures of our booth and Reina trying out Pooch's costume. Renia had a princess cape on.

October 29 2006
Todays Sayings:

Do you buy trick-or-treat candy and end up eating it yourself?
We dont give out candy because we are at the church trunk or treat.
Have you ever had to go out and buy another bag of candy to What's your favorite...caramel apples or popcorn balls? apples!
Did you watch the 40th anniversary showing of "It's the
Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"? Yes we watched it.
What was your favorite costume as a child? Snow White

Have a great week!

October 28 2006
Todays Sayings: Getting things done.

I normally like to sleep in on Saturday's, but we woke up by 7:30. So Jr and I decided to go to I Hop for breakfast. I had the oatnut pancakes which I really enjoy. We came back and layed around for awhile talking about what we want to do around the house. We are going to put in granite counters, get a new sink, dishwasher and stovetop. If we have any money left, we are thinking of putting new flooring upstairs in the hall, the bathroom and Daniels's room. This week our chuch is having a harvest festival. Jr and I are going to do a pumpkin patch bean bag toss game. I will take lots of pictures to share. I did add a couple of new pages to my Fall Cottage. One is a fall craft page and the other is a Pumpkin Patch! I hope you can visit them. Well I am off to finish my crafts for gamebooth. Have a blessed Sunday! Hugs

October 26 2006
Todays Sayings: Pray for the firemen

4 firefighters died today while fighting a fire near Palm Springs. They gave their lives while doing their job. God bless our firefighters. Every year we have the Santa Ana winds and it brings in hot, dry wind and with it fires. It is suppose to cool down by the weekend. I am off to my group now. Hugs

October 22 2006
Todays Sayings: Whatever is good.....I will dwell on those things.

Today at church, Pastor Jim completed a his teaching on peace. He read from Philipians 4:4-9. It was good and I do have peace. Yesterday we celebrated my mom's birthday and niece's 18th birthday. The whole family was there and it keeps growing when boyfriends and girlfriends come. We had grilled sirloin and shrimp, corn on the cobb, salad, stuffed potatoes, veggies and fresh fruit. We brought chips and my husband and sons home made salsa. They make it from scratch by roasting chillis and garlic and all that and my house still smells like it. We ate outside on the garden patio since the weather has been hot the past few days. My parents both shared how blessed they are because of the love in our familt and that is true Praise God.

After church today, Jr and I went to Kings Fish house for lunch. Then we went to see the movie A Night with the King and it was very good. I love historical movies and this was about a Persian King who marries a woman who is Jewish but doesn't find out till the end. It is a movie I would see again. I just finished the updates for the women's retreat and we have over 100 women going the first weekend of November. I sure hope we have fall weather and nor heat wave weather.

After the movie we went to Kohls and started our Christmas shopping. They have some great sales and I got myself some petite pants in green. Well I am off to bed. I have another busy week. Hugs

October 15 2006
Todays Sayings:I will give thanks to God for I am
fearfully and wonderfully made" Ps 139

That is what our Pastor taught on today on church completing his series on peace. Today has been a great relsxing day and I plan to end it by going to bed early. I did a lot yesterday and went to bed late last night. We are enjoying our fall weather, but warm weather will be back by mid week. I have been washing my winter clothes this weekend too. So I am all set. I am praying we do not have hot weather at our Women's retreat at the mountains the first weekend of Nov. One year we were there in Nov and it was 85. Well I need to go now because dinner is here. I really need to go on a diet again. Time to take out my South Beach book again. Have a nice week. Hugs

October 12 2006
Todays Sayings:I a blessed!

It is so nice to see the good in things. It is so good to have something go wrong and be able to get over it and not feel down and depressed. I just came back from my group and it is good to be able to share the road I traveled to get where I am today. From depression to freedom. To be able to share with others and let them know there is light at the end of the tunner and yes even Light in the tunnel when we stop letting fear control us. I guess that is why I love scarecrows. They are full of "stuff" just like we are and we are still loved by our God. Well I need to get ready for bed. I am now on the 5th book of the Yada Yada Prayer Group. After this I have to wait until the next one comes out Bye for now! Hugs

October 10 2006
Todays Sayings:I love fall decorations!

I decided to decorate in front of the fireplace this year. The kids love when I turn on the lights. Yesterday I was busy decorating coffee cans for a game booth I will be doing at my chruch's harvest night. I am going to fix a mini pumkin patch and the kids have to get the beanbags into the cans. I will take pictures to share of course. The weather has been nice and rain is scheduled in the next few days. I plan to take a hot bath and read more of the 4th book of the Yada Yada Prayer Group. Enjoy your week. Hugs

October 7, 2006
Todays Sayings:It's a beautiful fall day here!

Fall is here for us and I sure hope we don't get a heat wave though it can happen. There is a breeze, and leaves are falling. Our bif front yard tree will soon be turning orange and gold. I have my fall decor, but I have not put up the houses. I was going to do that today, but Renee and I drove to OC today to Main Place because Marina was working at Nordstrom for Smashbox. Renee and I surprised her and what was real funny was that her mom, sister and niece showed up too. I was able to get a few picture for her website I am working on and I will share it here. Marina works full time at a regular job, is going to school 20 hours a week and doing freelance on Saturdays. She and Andrew are saving for a house so they are still living with us. Well I need to go picj Renee up since I have her car. Have a great weekend. Hugs

Andrew does parties there and makes about $200 in tips. He only works there Saturdays to have extra money. I brought out my fall decorations and set them out. I am also packing some of my regular decorations which will come back in the spring. I got a new storage container for my scrapping and it will keep my paper in order. Todays Sayings: God is good even when our circumstances aren't.

I just finished reading the 1st book in the Yada Yada Prayer Group and I really enjoyed it. Luckily I have the next 2 books ready to read. I worked in my closet for 2 hours. I bought 2 plastic bins with 3 pull outs. I put sandels and socks in them freeing up 2 drawers. I also organized my shoes. I now have 1 bag for give away. I think I will get one more bin since they are on sale at Target. Now back to the saying.... Life is real, with ups and downs in everything. I use to suffer with depression and everything got to me. I have learned to let go lots of things. I have learned to make choices and look to God for the things that bother me, worry me or even get my upset. It is so easy to get into a bad/sad mood when things don't go our own way, but life happens and things change. So everyday, I choose to give it to God and thank Him for my life. Oh and one more thing. I have added a new butterly siggy to my blog on the left. Pam's daughter designed it. The little butterly symbolizes the new person I am because I have the Lord in my life. There is nothing I can do by myself, but only what He has done in me. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." 2 Corinthians 5:17

Todays Sayings: Thank God for friends, far and near.
A gift from God, so very dear.

This was another great week. Now that the weather is cooling down, I am in the mood to decorate but all my things are in the shed and I need the boys help to get to it. So I think I will pack summer things up and clean. But that is in between all the other things I am doing like still trying to finish my scrapbook. Knitting and reading is still relaxing me and leaves stress. Life is real and we all deal with different levels of stress. I facilitate a recovery group on Thursdays. This past Thursday I got to meet my Online friend Micki who is from Georgia. It was so nice and I was in a joyous mood all day. Well to joyous for women in depression. Next week I will be back on track and though I did not sleep much that night as I was praying off and on over the meeting, I chose not to let things get to me. I am learning not to let things get to me. The Lord is hekping me to trust in Him in all things. Today my daughter, daughter in love and I all got piercings. This is my 4th and I just love to wear earings. We all do so after letting them heal, I will put my small diamonds in the new hole. I have to get ready to go to another 40th birthday party and I leave you a picture of me and Mikci!

Todays Sayings: Another busy great week!

I just can't believe how another week has gone by! I did get to change my index page, blog and Adoption shop over to fall. I love fall, not if the CA weather would just cooperate! I hope to decorate my home in another week, if I have the time. I am still scrapping, knitting and reading. Recovery groups at our church have started back up and I lead the one on Depression. It is hard to believe that I suffered with it for several years, so my heart really goes out to women that do. I know that women are just to busy and not enjoying life. I make time to do the things I like as I mentioned above. I do work 30-35 hours a week and I need time to relax. Somedays it all catches up to me. Friday we went to a party for my friend Marlene that turned 40. It was fun and Tom was taking pictures so my hubby and I took our picture. I want to celebrate life as I age. But then I came home and slept for 14hours!

Well I leave you with my

Todays Sayings: There is so much to be thankful for.

I just finished my write up on the Women of Faith Conference I went to this weekend. The link is at the right. I was really blessed! The week was very busy for me, so I had little time to be on the computer. I have another busy week planned ahead of me with meetings at church and a party at the end of the week. I want to change my blog to fall in the next week. Our weather is finally cooling down to the high 80's. Today at church, everyone took hands and prayed in remembrance of 911. After church we went to El Torrito to celebrate Daniel's 23rd birthday. I have been on the computer for several hours working on my WOF page and now I am off to bed. Have a blessed week and think fall.

Happy Birthday Daniel!

Todays Sayings: Putting things in order, prefall cleaning.

I am feeling much better. I have gotten more sleep over the last few days and Friday was finally a catch up day at work. I got all my paper work either filed or mailed off. After work I went to Family Christian bookstore and got a few books. One is on healthful eating. I know that I need to get back on track with good eating. I felt so good when I was eating good and I have been eating lots of junk and put on weight. I also got a few books to read in the bath. That is where I do leisure reading. I got Yada Yada Prayer Group and The Potluck Club. I also got The Hallelujah Diet. I started out today with a multigrain cereal, 1 egg and 1 cup of coffee. I am cooking a pot of beans which I haven't done in awhile. My hubby is working his day off today so I want to have dinner all set for him. Now for the exciting news. We took Renee shopping yesterday and here she is with her new car that she will be paying for for the rest of her life! Have a great weekend. Hugs

She got a Kia Spectra and she is calling her friends.

Todays Sayings: Ups and downs this week.

My moods have been that week so far. Work has been crazy and the homefront has been tense. I was in bed early Tues after a long bath. I also think that the new meds I am taking for my shoulder make me more tired. I am ususally irritable when I feel so tired. So I cut back to one pill. I may stay home from Bible study and get to bed early. I have another busy day of training at work and spending that much time on the phone and computer is draining. My husband made spaghetti today and it was great and I overate. I really need to exercise and get my blood going! Well I did post the American Idol pictures and you can find it at the link on the right. Bye for now. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Still Scrapping

August 19, 2006

Todays Sayings:
The world is so big and we are but a spec in time.

We dropped our son and his wife at the Ontario airport this morning about 4:30. They are on their way to Cancun for a week. They had a stope over in Phoenix first. So we have been looking at the US Map and World map.I still can't get over how great things are. I was telling Daniel that when we were ar sea, we could look out for miles in any direction and there was nothing but sea. Yet we were just a speck in time. Well I have a failry quiet weekend and I plan to work on my Alaska scrapbook some more. I went to a scrap store in Huntington Beach yesterday called Once Upon a Memory and found several pages for crusing and some sickers for Alaska and Seattle. Have a blessed weekend. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Getting things done.

Todays Sayings: Thank you God!

Over and over again I think of how blessed I am. Even in the midst of the bad/sad things, I can still give thanks. Sunday, Our worship leader gave the message. He shared how God lead him to worship and he was brought to our church, New Beginnings. Then he shared how God was calling him to another church. Pastor Jim announced it the previous week.As sad is it seems to be losing him, we know that it is a part of God's plan. He will be going to Fellowship church in Grapevine Texas. Tonight we had a praise night. Pastor Dex brought in some friends and they played with him. A little jazz, a little latin flair and Dex sand songs he wrote about the grace and mercy God showed him. Then we ended with some worhsip songs. You are a Friends of God and Better is One Day. Then he called up all the band and worship team to go and sing with him. It was a time of laughter and tears. I know that God was greater plans and he brought Dex to our church to build and refine him. Dex also met his wife there and now she is taking the big step to leave her family to be with her husband. Noemi's dad is the Pastor of our Spanish Ministry. So when you look at the big picture and understand that God is in control, you can weep for the night because joy comes in the morning!

August 14, 2006 Todays Sayings: Enjoying the cooler weather!

Yes we are in the 80's and 90's which is way better than mid 90's and 100's! Yesterday I went to a baby shower for a friend at church that just adopted a baby girl. Here I am holding her. I was joking with my friends saying I was"praticing" for a future grandchild.

I showed Marina to tease her, but she knows that a baby will come when they are ready unless there is an oops. They leave this weekend on their vacation to Cancun. You know many "oops" have happened on vacations. Well it is all in God's hands and I just want them to enjoy their vacation. Speaking of cooler weather, I got this cute siggy from Tammy for my birthday. I also got a cute scarecrow one from Pipa. I have been at the craft stores and there are tons of fall decorations. I just love fall and scarecrows.

Well I am off to scrap now. Hugs

Today is our 32st anniv.

My parents took me out to lunch today for my birthday which is on Saturday. Today Jr and I went to dinner at Miguels. Then we went to the Hallmark store so I could spend some of the money my parents gave me. I got 2 new Hallmark Christmas ornaments. They remind me of our Alaksa trip.

August 9, 2006

We are not sure what we want to do. We talked about seeing the new Trade Center Movie, but we will see. It is real hot again and we have the air on. I have had a nagging headache all day. I plan to go to bed early. My parents are taking me out Thursday for my birthday which is Saturday. I will be 51. I don't feel that most of the time. My cousin Joanie and I are going to a jewlery show and then lunch. Sunday we are going to a baby shower for a friend who just adopted a baby girl. Makes me think back 17 years ago to my baby. Well I have a few things to do before I got to bed. Hugs and blessings.

Today's Saying: So many busy days!

Last week I had a busy week and this weekend was busy too but fun. Friday I went to a Luau at my cousinsfor her birthday.

Saturday I went to a women's luncheon and later we met our frineds from our marriage group at Newport Beach for dinner. Jr bought me this necklace and I wore it to church today and got lots of compliments on it.

Church was good today and Pastor Jim continued the lesson on sex in marriage from the Song of Solomon. After we went to lunch at Lee's Sandwiches in Irvine across the street from UCI, the school I graduated from in 1977. The place has really grown! We looked at a Kia car today but I am not sure it is the time to bu it. We need to check out the insurance with our insurance guy. Even though she will be working, and dad will co-sign, I would get stuck with the insurance and I do not need that at the moment. I know this will be another busy week both at work and home. I am finding time to knit! Have a great week. Hugs

Today's Saying: Good news!

Renee had her working interview at the vets and got hired! She will start at $7.70 on Monday. This is her first job and she is real happy and so are we. We will all go out for lunch on Sunday to celebrate.

Reina was checking her our big time!

When I was in Rosarito with my friends, we all spent time collecting some rocks for out garden. There were so many beautiful rocks, all so unique, just as God as created all of us. Here is my favorite with a flower design in the middle

Here is the link to Menopause the Musical

I went to bed late and I am so sleepy so I plan to retire early tonight. I may knit awhile first. Bye for now. Hugs

Today's Saying: There is a time to play
and time to stay home.

I can't beleive it has been a week since I last posted. Wed.-Sat. I was at Rosarito Beach with my friends. We had a nice time and the weather was cooler. Our beach house was just a few blocks away fromn the beach and the water was warm. We all collected sand dollars and rocks to bring back. I brought back some windchimes and jewlery. I was a little under the weather while there, but still enjoyed being with my friends. The pictures below are with my cousin Joanie who is also my best frined. Then Sunday I went to the play Menopause the Musical today at the Grove theater in Upland. There were 27 women form our church that went and we all thought it was hilarious! Then we went to dinner afterwards. Here are some pictures and my ~By the Way Sunday~.

Today's Saying: Got Alaska?

Yesterday it was 112! Renee and I went swimming at my parents and I showed them my pictures. They have been on a Jamacian and Mexican Rivera cruise so they could relate to the fun of cruising. Today we got together with all the friends that went on the cruise together. We looked at each others pictures, had lunch and then watched videos. Of course we all talked about wanting to be back in Alaksa's weather. Funny cause we were all freezing when we were at the Hubbard Glacier. Here is a picture. I have a few to add to the Alaska site. I hope to do that this week.

July 21, 2006
Today's Saying: Did I day Heat Wave!?*!

I am so glad it is Friday! I had plans to scrap today, but I end up wroking on my site, visiting and then of all things, gardening. My roses needed pruning and the weeds are all over. It has been too hot to work in the yard but I guess I was just heat crazy enough to go out. Reina had fun playing in the sprinklers and she should sleep well tonight. I have been knitting and am still learning. I am working on a scarf from the yarn I got in Seattle. I just finished a lap blanket to use when I read, but it is too hot to use it now! I got this cute siggy from Elizabeth today. Thank you!

I get my car serviced. Renee and I plan to go to my parents so she can swim and I can show them my pictures. Well hopefully I will get to scrap tomorrow after we get home.

Time to take a much needed bath!

July 17, 2006
Today's Saying: Hot and humid go away!

Besides being in the 100's we now have 75% humidity and we are not use to that. I am so glad I work in a cool office. I am so glad to be done with my Alaska pages and you can find the link by the Elliot graphic. I am off to dinner with my friends and we will plan our Mexico getaway. Bye for now. Hugs

Today's Saying: We are cooking here!

It was 106 here today and we are breaking record every day. I want to be back in Alaska! I mailed Elliot back yesterday and Darylynn received him today. My daughter was asking for him and sad that he went back. The neat thing about the trip is that my kids missed us and Renee calls me Mommy more now. She drove to our church's food bank today to help out. Her"new" car is having problems in this heat. She is looking for a job to get a real new car. I did take time out to get a pedicure and manicure. After spedning hours on my Alaskas pages, I needed the treat and feel so much better too. I put the final touches on the Alaska pages and should be posting it after Darylynn proofs it for me. I need to get my house back in order as it has been neglected while I put the pages together. Luckily my men cook and they cooked salmon today and it was great! Daniel and his dad are wearing thier new aprons. Have a great Sunday!

July 12, 2006
Today's Saying: A time to celebrate!

I was off today and still woke up early. I have been up early for most of my vacation even when I could sleep in like today. Well Renee passed her drivers test and she was so happy and so was I. I was knitting and praying while she was taking her test. I did not see her drive back but went out and then noticed she was. The driver guy did not say anything and Renee had no smile on her face so I thought oh no, but then she said she only missed 7 out of 15 and she passed. She had to go back and get her temporary lisence and when we got to the car she screamed Thank You Jesus, I passed. Now I am liberated! We went for lunch and then some shopping. I also got some more yarn to make a pink scarf for a breast cancer survivor. Then once the guys were home and showerd, we went for dinner at Miguels. Then home to work on my millions of pictures! I am working on page 15 now and hope to be able to post by Saturday. I am also sending Elliot back tomorrow. He has been lots of fun to play with but time to get him home for his next adventure. I think I will post this at my blog too. Well I am off to bed. Hugs

July 10, 2006
Today's Saying: Back to reality.

My husband went back to work today after being off 3 weeks. I went back last Thursday and even worked Saturday to be off on Wed. Renee takes her drivers test and pray that she passes. Well it is also time to send Elliot back. It was fun having him, but he has more adventures to go on. I have been busy working on my pictures but it is taking longer than I thought. Some have to be scanned and others from the digital still have to be resized. Then I only took a million! Well I better get busy because I am going to go to soak in the tub and read soon. Hugs

July 4, 2006
Today's Saying:
Thanks for the siggy Tammy!

We arrived home around 6:30 pm yesterday and our family picked us up and we ate at Olive Garden. We have no plans for today except take pictures to be developed and wash clothes. I do have to make another appointment with the dermatologist cause my skin condition flared up so I will probably need the cryo surgery again. Well I need to get my pictures uploaded and that will keep me busy all day. Hugs

Today's Saying: Almost Ready!

I am taking a break from packing. I don't know how to pack light for 10 days. It is easy when you are camping and you where the same jeans for days But to have the formal wear with all the goodies and the day clothes for both ship and land and then Seattle-10 days total As you can see, Reina knows we are going and is sad.Can you see her in the suitcase?

This was the verse of the day for today: 6/23- The Lord will keep you from all harm -- he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Psalm 121:7-8
Ok, I am done packing. I just need to go to the bank and get my nails done. Elliot is all packed too. So now we just have to make sure that all our special instructions to our kids. Andrew will be taking us to the airport in the morning and dropping us off about 6am. Then he will bring the car back for Renee who has her driving test at 3pm. We tried to get an ealier appointment with no avail. The ship does have an internet cafe so I probably will be there.

June 20, 2006
Today's Saying: Anticipation!

Our trip is just a few days away and I am so excited. The suitcases are out, clothes are here and there as we wash and pack. My hubby and I got the batteries and cd's we need to film our adventure in part of God's country. We each got a backpack to use to carry our essentials. Pastor Jim shared the highlights of when they went lastyear and so I am getting more excited. I have been checking the weather and it seems to be around 55 right now for the highs. It will be colder as we near the glaciers. We will dress in layers for our shore excurisons. The pictures I take will be shared from my family site and I will post the link when the pictures are ready. I also got a book to read on the plane.

Thanks to Cindy for the cute gift!

I got myself a little journal to take notes so I don't forget.Anyway, we talked about the Ark of the Covenant tonight. It made me think of when I was teaching the 1st and 2nd grade Sunday school class ten years ago. I made a visual display out of a cardboard storage box and metal rings. Maybe someday I will go back to teaching. Well I am off to bed to read. I will have more time to work on my site tomorrow. Hugs

Today's Saying: Getting ready for the next trip!

I finally finished my vacation pictures that I have listed at my family site. The link is under my tagme to the right. My husband and I got up early to send our boys off on their weekend bachelors trip to Las Vegas. My oldest does not drink so I asked him to be the designated driver. He said several of them did not drink and they were going to eat at different buffets. They are all 21 so all we can do is pray they are safe. Then hubby and I went out for breakfast at Pollys. Then we did some shopping at Kohls that had lots of stuff on sale. I got a 28" luggage piece and a matching carry on. My husband will carry it on as he will have the movie camera in it and the meds and so on. I will have another carry on and my purse/backpack. My hubby got a suit to wear on the formal night and he has a sports coat for the 2nd nite. We leave the 23rd so it is countdown. This weekend is hot! 102 here today. Hubby and I had sandwiches for dinner and we have a few movies to watch after we take our daughter to her friends. They are going to Palm Springs for her friends birthday. Well I need to look up tour stuff in Alaska. Bye for now. Hugs

This is where we are going camping

Today's Saying: Dealing with Ups and downs.

Just when I thought my cold was getting better, it is getting worse. My ear hurts and I know my sinuses are acting up. I have to call and make an appointment for Renee tomorrow because she has not been doing well. I think that school is taking stressing her and her veggie diet is not keeping her healthy. So we both need to go in. I actually have an appointment for Tuesday with my regular dr. I cannot go to the high sierras feeling sick. The altitude will really put pressures on my sinuses so please keep me in prayer. I also lost my uncle to cancer today and though I am sad about it, I know he is in a better place and I will see him again. On the upside, Renee and I had a nice time shopping and I found a lightweigt purse/bag for my Alaska trip that should hold all my things. I also got some cute tops and Renee said it appeals to the hippie in me. Hugs

Friday Fun

1. Do you come from a large family?
Three girls, one boy. I am the oldest.
Did you wish for a bigger family as a child? No
A smaller one? At times Why? So I could have my own room.
2. If you have children, how many do you have?
Three, 2 boys and 1 girl
Did think, growing up, that you would have more or less?
I really never gave it much thought. It was just
something you had. But then I had infertilty problems
and had lost 3 by miscarriage. So them my priorities
changed and I have 2 sons and 1 daughter.
3. If you could change one thing about your family,
either parents & siblings or your own, what would it be?
Maybe to have had one more daughter through adoption.
4. Give us a great family memory!! The most recent would
be my son Andrew's Wedding to Marina.
so I did get a daughter in law!
May 12, 2006 is their 1st anniversary. Praise God!

Today's Saying: Crafting away.

I have been shopping at Michaels and they have these gift fpr $49 and then on sale for $19.99. I made the 3 for under $30. I plan to give one for my Mom for Mother's Day. Renee claimed the one on the left. I was sorry to see Chris have to leave, but glad Elliot is still there.

Today's Saying: Knitting away

I found some really cute furry yarn and I am trying to make a scarf. Well we will see. It is relaxing. Today Renee and I went to the library because she has a research paper to do on Mexico. There may be a chance that she will be going to Cancun for her high school graduation with several friends. They will be going with a family from church so I am happy about that. Renee will be 18 by then, but she is still my little girl. Well I am about ready to do take a bath. Hugs

Today's Saying: I am getting ready for a busy week!

I slept for 11 hours and got up at 11am. I put my music on and did some house cleaning. My hubby was working in the backyard. Staying home feels good when I am gone during the week with work and church. Plus with gas being so expensive, I don't drive anymore than I have too. I paid $3.33 a gallon! Today was our final prayer meeting for the conference. It begins Thursday so I will be scarce after Tuesday. My knitting is improving and I find it to be relaxing. I did a little shopping after the prayer meeting. I found a couple of shirts and a pair of dangling earings. I love earings and purses. I need to find a backpack for my trip. Something lightweight and roomy. Well I am off now. My daughter in law needs to do her homework. I am off to get my jammis. Hugs

Today's Sayings Cindo De Mayo May 5, 2006

We just came back from a party with friends from church. We had Mexican food and then we played American Idol with a Mexican flair. The winner got a $25 gift certificate to Chili's. We played Catch Phrase too. I think we were one of the first to leave at around 10pm. We get up at 5:15 am Monday-Friday and by the end of the week we are tired. Saturday is sleep in day! Hugs

Today's Sayings I am learning new things!

Ok, don't laugh to hard. This was my first attempt at a knitting project. I started out with 8 loops but ended up with 9! I am going to use this as a bookmark for my Captivating book. Tammy has been helping me learn Word Press and I am thankful for her help! I saw Ameican Idol and was sad to see Paris go, but she is young and will have other chances. I need to let Renee use the computer to do her homework. We plan to get her a computer for Christmas. Now if I could buy one, get one free like the phones! Hugs

Today's Sayings One more thing to do...

I have been wanting to leartn to knit for awhile like I really need another thing to do. But it is something I said I wanted to do when I turned 50. I took a basic knitting class back in highschool but that was about 33 years ago! Even with a book I could not figure how to cast on. So I found a few place on the net to look at. I just want to make something simple like a bookmark or scarf. I just watched American Idol and I liked Elliot and Paris. Chris was Chris. It is hard to decide. Well I am off to bed to read. Happy Wednesday! Hugs

Today's Sayings
~Yardwork~
Spring has arrived and the yardwork begins...
mowing, trimming, gardening, etc.
By the way...

Who does the yardwork in your family, or do you hire someone? Are you a "no weeds in my yard" perfectionist, or do you let the weeds rule? Thinking about the yardwork, does it make you want winter back? My middle son ususally mows the lawn. Both boys help their dad with heavy things. I like to get out there and pull weeds and and trim things. I love to cut my roses and they are really blooming right now. I am not a perfectionist like I use to be. I would love to do more, but physically I can't. The weather will be nice this week, so hopefully I can be our there for awhile. Now that the weather is nice, I can go out and spend quiet time there. I can enjoy my wind chimes and watch the birds fly around. Have a wonderful week. Hugs

Todays Saying:Reading speaks to your soul
and exercises your imagination.

I have loved reading since about 4th grade. I don't know how many books I have read and my reading room here at my site only list book I have read in the past 14 years. My parents had books in everyhome we have lived in. The house I lived during highschool had a room that was converted into a library after the 2nd floor was added. All of my sisters and brother have bookcases filled with books. Ihave bookcases upstairs and downstairs. If our church ever opens up a lending library, I would donate many of my books to them. I like to give books as gift to people I know enjoy reading. Reading can be an adventure. Speaking of Adventures, just 2 months until our cruise. We leave June 23, 7 days on the cruise and 3 days in Seattle. Hopefully I can go on the net while on the cruise and the hotel has a business center with computers. Everyone have a great Sunday! Hugs and blessings

Todays Saying:To the creator of the universe,
I am captivating!

I am reading Captivating and I am aso listening to it on a cd at work. I have read the story of creation many times. But I didn't really grasp this fact until I heard it on the audio. Eve was the last thing to be created by God. His creation was not complete until she was created. Not as an after thought, but the final beauty set on earth. So remember how special you are in God's eyes. He makes no mistakes. For we are fearfully and wonderfully created! Well they sent Kellie home. I think it gave her a lot of exposure, and hopefully she will get a chance somewhere sometime in the future. She went with a good attitude and that is great!

Todays Saying:

I have been reading Captivating and Fouth Dawn today. I just love to read! I did make time to watch American Idol and I really like Katherine, Paris and Chris. I can hardly wait to hear Andre sing. I have one of his cd's and the power and passion are awesome! He sings a duet with Celiene Dion I think called the Prayer and it is a beautiful song. Well I am off to read my Bible. Hugs

By the Way Sunday~A Prom Queen~
It's prom season once again!
Things are so elaborately done today, updos, manicures,
glitter and glam, even limos, it's almost a must.

By the way...Did you attend a prom or
a special dance during high school?
Share your experience, maybe a picture.

Luckily I have this picture from a page I did for a Darylynn's homework assignment on love. This is JR and I at my Sr. Prom in 1973. We double dated with his younger sister and friend Steve. She could not go unless they went with us. The prom was held at the SS Princess Louise which was docked next to the Queen Mary. We drove in JR's Monte Carlo. Most kids drove their own cars back then or borrowed their parents car. We had take a test drive a few weeks prior and got lost and eneded up in Malibu of all places. We had to call my parents up and let them know we were going to be later than planned. As you can see we both wore green. It was a color that was in that year. Another girl named Cinda Belle worse the same dress in pink and her date was in pink too! We actually took a picture together to laugh it off. My sister wore the dress the following year when she was 1st runner up from Homecoming Queen. Anyways, it was a special night even though we had to double. My kids get a good laugh when they see the picture. My hair was growing out from a pixie cut which was popular for some girls. Longer hair was in for guys too. That was 33 years ago and that young man did become my husband.

Todays Saying:Inspite of cold rainy weather,
my soul is bright!

There was a time a few years ago when I could only see the glass half empty. Now days I see the cup half full. I choose to dwell on the positive. So spring is cold today like winter and I put on my sweatshirt and had chicken soup from Juan Pollo. Earlier today we picked up Renee's car from the smog place. I can go to the DMV and say it passed! My husband and I then drove to WINCO in Pomona and saved lots of money there. Pomona is around 23 mile from us and is the city where Renee wants to go to school. She wants to go to Cal Poly Pomona because they have a good animal husbandry program that is close to home. After the groceries were put away, I started laundry and played the computer. I was in warm flannels by 4 pm and so comfy. Hubby and I took turns with Reina. She loves it when we are home and she is with one of us wrapped up with a blanket. I am off to read before bed. Have a nice Sunday. Hugs!

Todays Saying:Thinking

Today I sat at my computer at work trying to learn a new program when I decided I needed a break. I tend to work at something until I get it. But I have learned that I need breaks. So I decided to enjoy my tea and straighten out the area I have my goodies. I found a fortune cookie from last week and decided to indulge in this little bit of sugar delight. I even dunked it in my Jasmine Green Tea from Trader Joes. Like anyone else, I read the saying from the cookie. It said "Nothing can keep you from reaching your goals." It is something I have heard many times and at first I said, "that is right!" Then my mind went right back to a scripture I had read earlier today. It basically said that we can make goals but God is still in control of our life plan. There is nothing wrong with setting goals, but many things will influence the true outcome. It is still in the hands of the Creator of the universe to determine what happens to our life. It is great when things go well and we achieve our goals. Other times it does not happen and there is usually a reason for it. Who we look to and how we respond will determine if we are headed in the right direction. Oh thee verse.....All a man's ways seem right to him, but the LORD weighs the heart. Proverbs 21:2

Todays Saying: I have been catching up on my sleep.

I stayed home for 2 days from work. I just can't afford to get real sick and getting my rest is one sure way to get better soon. I selpt 14 hours on Tuesday and I slept 11 last night. I went back for my blood test to check my iron levels again when my husband came home. We have to cut our driving around as much as possible because gas is over $3.00 a gallon. The highest it has ever been. This is depressing since it only looks like it will climb and we have a trip to the high sierras planned next month in a 35 foot RV. It will be expensive but still cheaper than renting a condo. Well I am off to bed. I have a lot of praying to do tonight as my heart is heavy with a personal matter.

April 17, 2006
Todays Saying: I need to catch up on my sleep!

Despite the fact that I had a sinus cold, my weekend was pretty nice. My husband and I made it to the Good Friday service. They also celebrated the Pastor's 50th birthday that evening with a huge cake 50 candles and balloons. We did not stay for cake. We went straight home since we were both real tired. I don't know if I have mentioned that my husband works at the US Postal Service too. He was pretty busy. With tax time, things are crazy and with Easter the same time. Saturday morning he took Renee's car to get fixed while I took her to the Easter Egg hunt. Later I picked her and her friend up and took them for lunch. Renee and I had our nails done then went to look for shoes. Then we went to have our hair done. I got color, highlights and a cut. She got a cut. Then we decided to we had to go back to get pedicures since we both got sandals for Easter. We headed home and I went to bed right away. Shopping and being sick are not a good combination. My husband and I woke up early and set out the Easter baskets and Renee's birthday goodies. Then we went to church to greet for 2nd service, then we stayed and greeted for the beginning of 3rd service. We welcome the people as they come in and hand them the bulletin. Our kids came to 3rd service. We went home and took a nap. We were at my parents home by 4 and stayed until 9. We had a wonderful Easter dinner. Mom made Prime rib and ham. We had salad, mash potatoes, gravy, sweat potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, and rolls. We also had desert as we celebrated the April birthdays. We had cream cheese pie with fresh strawberries, Tiramisu, Jell-O and heart shaped butter cookies. As you can see in the picture, Renee loved that! We all got home and went to bed early. This will be another busy week as usual. Have a blessed week! Hugs

Todays Saying: Under the weather but feeling happy!

Well I did not get to sleep in today like I wanted because Renee's friends kidnapped her and took her to breakfast for her birthday which is Sunday. She turns 17. They are taking her out tonight too. So Renee went to the Dr with me. I like having her drive me around. I really like my new Dr. She asked about my cold and said I was doing all the right things and just to let it run its course. But if it gets worse, to call in an antibiotic. I understand not wanting to go on it unless I have to. She was really happy about my cholesterol. It has come back to the high end of the normal range which is under 200 and I was at 260! I am taking Zetia and other than a mild stomach ache, it is working. The other medicines were giving me muscle aches. She wants me to keep watching what I am eating and to increase my exercise. She wants me to take a calcium pill and a multi vitamin. I had my pap and she checked my breast. She said that women that wear underwires need to massage under the breast weat the wire has been. I can't remember why but it is not the first time I have heard it. It had something to do with cyst. We talked about menopause symptoms and what I could take to help. More soy would help and Black Kohash will help with hot flashes so back to Estroven only I take the Sam's club version. We talked about becoming irregular and she said that it was normal, especailly for my age. Then I told her I did not want AF for my cruise and she gave me a prescription for birth control pills to start one month before and then I would not have to worry about it. She is just so understanding. Turning 50 has its changes, but she said that it has more to do with the way we deal with it that has the biggest impact. It is just another phase in life and she said I was doing good with adjustments and asking questions. I have to have another blood test because she suspects I may be anemic again. I need to eat more broccoli and spinach and almonds. So will get more of those. Well I need to go get ready for the Good Friday Service. Hugs

Todays Saying: Man's best friend is a gift from God.

I am talking about pets when I say this. Whether it is a dog, cat, guinea pig for bird, pets play a special part in our lives and hold a specail place in our hearts. I am thinking of Darylynn and what she is going through with her dog Dylan. I like her would do anything for my dog because she is my furbaby and one of my kids. My sister's doxie needed back surgery and she did not hesitate to pay to get it done. When there is a change, then we take it. When it time to let go, it is one of the most painful things to do. Especially when they are hurting and out of love they are assisted to their final resting place. Life is fragile and it is by the grace of the Creator that things live. "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh, blessed be the name of the Lord." Well I am off to Bible study.

She wants to go to CA Poly Pomona which has a good program dealing with animals. If she goes on to be a vet, she will go to UC Davis which is about 7-8 hours away up by the state capitol in Sacramento. We were suppose too have our marriage group but one couple was sick so we postponed it. It work out for the best. Jr. and I watched Memoirs of a Geisha and it was good. Her story was amazing! I finished my book called Through the Gates of Splendor. I am always reading several books and I have them everywhere. I made some soup today. I sauteed some onion in olive oil. Then added a can of black beans and 1 can of chicken broth. I was also cooking brown rice in the rice cooker. I added cummin, garlic power, onion powder, pepper and 1/2 chooped tomato. I cooked it on low and when the rice was done I added the rice to the soup. I served the soup and added avocado and grated cheese. It was pretty good. Next time I will add water or use low sodium broth. I may add some grated carrot or squash. So I am back to my eating healthy.

Todays Saying:I had another great weekend!

Like anyone that works, Friday is a welcome day. My husband and I rented the movie Pride and Prejudice. We snuggled up in a quiet house. Everyone was gone. Saturday we got to sleep in. Renee and I went to a jewlery party called Heavenly Treasuez. Then we went to Wal_Mart and I bought hair color. I actually did my own. My regular hair dressor and I could not connect and I could not stand the grey. Sunday I went to church and the out to lunch with my friends to celebrate a birthday. We went to Chillis and had a great time. We decided we wanted to get together for another Girls want to have fun get away. I have been working on my Darylynn's homework on Spring break and here I will be going on another one. Whe I got home, I hit the computer to update my web pages. I changed over my intro. page and updated my linkies. I also made my lunch. It is time to go back to heathy eating. I made a salad and I will have left over salmon from today. I plan to journal it and add my exercise. My friends tease me cause I was telling them how my size sixes are feeling tight. I will leave a picture of us taken last month at a banquet.

We got our income tax return and we got more than we expected so that covers our cruise to Alaska, thank you Lord! I finally got a digital camera, but I have had no time to figure it out cause I got Renee a new V-Cast cell phone. We got a 2 for 1 deal. plus a 20% discount under my Postal discount. I have been having fun with the new phone. Both the camera and phone take small video clips. I decided on a Cannon, because my regular Cannon camera has always taken great pictures. Now if I can just get back to eating good. I feel like I have been on two month pms pit while my body decides if I am going into menopause or not. I need to go and exercise! I am off to bed. Todays Saying: I have a song in my head and heart!

One of my favortie groups is Avalon and I was blessed to hear them perfrom at the Women of Fatih Conference last Sept. They will be at the next one too. They can really sing! This song explains my relationship I have with the Lord. Here are the words.

I grew up in Sunday school
I memorized the Golden Rule
And how Jesus came to set the sinner free
I know the story inside out
I can tell you all about
The path that led Him up to Calvary
But ask me why He loves me
And I don't know what to say
But I'll never be the same
Because He changed my life when He became...

CHORUS:
Everything to me
He's more than a story
More than words on a page of history
He's the air that I breathe
The water I thirst for
And the ground beneath my feet
He's everything, everything to me

We're living in uncertain times
And more and more I find that I'm aware
Of just how fragile life can be
I want to tell the world I found
A love that turned my life around
They need to know that they can taste and see
Now every day I'm praying
Just to give my heart away
I want to live for Jesus
So that someone else might see that He is...

BRIDGE:
And looking back over my life at the end
I'll go to meet You saying You've been
CHORUS: *******************************

Todays Saying: My mind is just going!

I stayed up late watching the Olympics and it was great watching Anton Ono win gold for the US Speedtrack. I slept in till 9, took a bath and got ready for church. I put my makeup on while Renee drove. She is doing really well. For the first time I am really seeing myself age. My skin is changing and AF did not come this month so I guess I am really entering midlife for sure. But one thing I know, I may change on the outside, but it is the inside, that really matters. I have come a long way when I look back. I didn't even know the real me up until a few years ago. Pastor Jim preached a great sermon today being real honest about what he went through as God worked in him. After church my son Andrew took us to Lee's sandwich shop in Irvine. I could not believe how much things have changed there. I remember taking country drives out there as a kid when there was nothing. In 1965 they were building a new university out there and my parents took me out there and said that is where I would be going someday. I visited there in in 1968 with my Jr high club. Some students took us around the campus and I remember the big computer mainframes. Then they took us to the beach. I can still remember hearing Scarborough Fair on the radio. Life was so easy then. In High school I was being recruited to go to UCI. I had the GPA to get in and they wanted minorities. I wanted to go to Jr college first, but I know how much my parents wanted me to go there. So I did. The place we ate today was very close to the Bank of America I went to for my student loan to get from my sophomore-senior year. I was the first person in my family to graduate from a 4 year university. I would do things differently if I could do it again. The best education I have had is the things I have learned since I went back to church. Well I will end with this:And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28 Have a blessed week. Hugs

Need to diet!

Todays Saying:Family is so important!

As usual, I have been busy both at work and at home. Church keeps me pretty busy too. Yesterday I went to a birthday dinner for a co-worker and came home late. This morning when I came down the computer was sounding strange and not smelling to good. I could see that it never shut down like I thought it was suppose to. Well I thought I fried it for sure. There was nothing I could do but turn it off and let it cool down. My husband and I took Renee to get her car smog checked and it did not pass. We met for breakfast and Daniel joined us. Then we took the car to a place to get smoged and they were busy and we left it there. We did a few errands and then came home. I called my friend and he said to bring the computer over. Turns out the fan burned bad but luckily there was no serious damage to the processor. I was so glad. But I decided to spent time with Renee and we went to the movies. We saw Medea's family Reunion. It was a good movie and both Cecily Tyson and Mya Angalou were in it. Renee really needs to see Roots to understand the end of the movie. It was a pretty good movie. It feels nice to be able to update, but I want to go read now. Have a nice Sunday. Hugs

Todays Saying: Enjoying my day off.

I slept in till 10 this morning. It was great. Then I had lunch with my friends at the Black Angus. I had the grilled salmon and it was great. We finished off with a chocolate yummy something. I was telling my friend that I was waiting to get AF before going back on my healthy diet. Thing is, I am now around 10 days late. It dawned on me that I might just miss this month. This past few weeks have been pms I thought, and I have been eating lots of chocolate. So maybe it is the beginning of menopause? I am 50 now and you would think, but it is different with everyone. Well I did something positive. I joined a gym and I did 4 miles on the bikes. I plan to go 3 times a week. I can't walk outside like I use to because if the pre cancerous condition I have on my face. So I am looking forward to losing the 4 pounds I have gained these past few months. I am watching the Olympics right now, but I plan to watch the Bachelor.

Todays Saying:It's been a busy but blessed weekend.

Friday night was our annual church banquet at Eagle Glen Country Club. This is one time everyone can dress up and enjoy wonderful food and fellowship. All the pastors are at the entry welcoming the guest. This banquet honors all the people that are regular servants in the church. This would be the ushers, greeters, teacher, recovery ministry and all the rest of the ministries. My husband and I are greeters. I lead a recovery group and I am also on the women's board. Each table had a loveley fruit basket surrounded by ivy. We were entertained by a clean comedian. We sang a few songs and had communion. There was a gift giveaway and I won a certificate to Chipolte grill. Saturday we had our marriage group and we had a real nice time with your friends. We are all going camping in May by Mammoth. Todays Saying: Back to normal weather.

Last week we were as high as the 90's! We are at the 60's today and it will be cold all weekend with rain hopefully on Feb. It has been a dry winter this year and last year we beat all records for rain. I had a nice Valentins day with my hubby. I got a real pretty plant for my office in a beautiful container. We went to Newport Beach for dinner. We took the back way in, took a ferry across the bay and had an early dinner. I had a cup of clam chowder and shrimp with pasta. My husband had asparagus stuffed orange rough and macadamia nut ahi with fruit. The bread was really good. There was no room for desert. We took the ferry back and got home early.

Todays Saying: A Betta busy day

Yes I said betta and I better explain that for you. My daughter has this Kathy purse that we both like. She does not like leather purses because she is an animal rights activist. I kept telling her I thought her purse was made of soft suede leather. Some say it is and some say it isn't. I have told her it is so she will give me her purse. Then we saw this tv commercial were this man is shaking/dancing with a cow(milk-shake) The song was shake this thing Miss Betta Betta. At least that is what we think we hear. So then I named her purse Mis Betta Betta. Then I decided to find one of my own on Ebay since it is an older purse. I lost my aution of the one I wanted because I was in transit from work to home. I was sad. So yesterday Renee and my daughter in laww picked me up and we headed to Main Place Mall. Renee said she would give me Miss Betta Betta if I got her a new one so I did and I named her new purse Mo Betta Betta. We have had a big laugh over that. That was yesterday. Today we were busy busy. I had my hair cut and colored. Then we went shopping at Kohls and she laughed at me because I came out of there with makeup I had tried on. Then we went to open up her Jr checkings account. Now she is driving me all over in her car so we had to stop for gas. Then we went to Sam's to get our glasses fixed. Then we were off to the mall and we were looking for more Kathy purses but I do not like this years models.I did find a purse I like at Payless I liked and she said it was kind of hippie like and I said great, just from my era. So our final stop was to eat. She has been cleaning her room and I am here catching up. So it has been a nice but expensive girls day out!Have a Happy Sunday!

Todays Saying: Firewatch!

Well there has been a large fire just 8 miles from me over the moutains. The toll road we take in the morning is closed because it is the firebreak for the fire. 900 firemen are fighting but the Santa Ana winds make it hard to keep it in check and it is only 7% contained with 3500 acres burned. I found a Kathy purse on ebay that I want. My daughter has one that we found at Ross and it is a cream color with leopard. The one I want is black with leopard straps. We like to share purses now.We are all home watching American Idol so I am going to end now. Hugs

Todays Saying:It's a Family Affair

Church was great as usual. We greeted and on greeting days I like to dress up a little nicer. I wore a brown med calf skirt and black boots. I had a pink shortsleeve church with a matching sweater. I had pink earings and a brown purse. Then when we came home and put on jeans, black shirt and black tennis. This was to show my family support of the Stealers. Renee, Daniel and I went to the indoor swap meet at we got leopard sterring wheel cover and floor mats and an air freshner for her new 1987 Maxima. THen we headed back to church. Our church showed the Suerbowl game on one of the big screens. We ate hotdogs, chili beans, nachos, salsa, chips dips and salad. We had cheese cake for desert. We had a nice time and I actually enjoyed the game. The weather was very warm today in the high 80's and it will be war, all week. Tomorrow I will go to the Auto club to reister Renee's car. Her brothers are going to detail the car and add a cd player system, hopefully for her birthday iin April. I need to get ready for work so have a great week! Hugs

Todays Saying: Blessings,a good movie, good food and new friends

Well today Renee got her first car...a 1978 Nissan Maxima. Yes it is old. But it is clean and in good condition plus it was free! A gift from friends. Today I watched a movie with friends from church. It is called End of the Spear and you can read about it here.It a really good and I want to see it again with my husband. Afterwards we had lunch at Sizzlers. Now I am home and really want to sleep but it is too early. I got my new Love shack set from Mable so I think I will play with that on my index page. Have a nice Super Bowl Sunday!

February 3 2006

Todays Saying: TFIG

Oh it has been a long week. I had my nitrogen freeze on Thursday. I really like my Dr. She is very nice and takes the time to explain things to me. I just got back from a jewlery party and it was nice with so many friends from church there and open shopping. No catalog, just all the goodies on display. My daughter actually liked that I got. I got a necklace with matching earrings and a bracelet. The necklace has hearts and little kyes a litte crosses. Jesus holds the key to my heart. You can see it here. There was also lots of food. I am so sleepy so I plan to go to bed after Dancing with the Starts. Barry Manilow is singing. He has aged but so have I! Tomorrow we go to pick up a 1987 Nissan Maxima. It is in working condition and we are getting free from our friends. The care will be for Renee until we can buy her a newer one in her senior year. Tomorrow I need to add my Print Shop back on. I got a new adoption that can be personalized. Have a great weekend. Hugs

Thanks Elizabeth!

Todays Saying: Reading and wondering...

I started reading a new book that is a part of the Left Behind Series. But it talks about what happened prior to the books on the series. It is the 2nd book called The Regime, and it follows The Rising. It talks about the Antichrist. I think I have mentioned that I am a multibook reader- I read several books at the same time and different times. Today I have been wondering what went wrong that 5 postal people were killed last night from the Santa Barbara PDC in Goleta CA. I work for the USPS and it is sad. I am sure that there is sadness for the 700,000 employees. We were offered free counseling today if we need it. I am sure many people will. Well I am off to bed to read. Hugs

Todays Saying: I am back!

I got my computer back yesterday evening and it sure goes fast again. I actually survivied too. I had a real busy week at church so it worked out well. Wed. the Dr called with my biopsy results and I have this condition that is pre-cancerous. So on Thursday I will have the spot rozen with frozen nitrogen. When that heals. I will get some Mac makeup. It is expensive, but they can show me how to use it. I need to get to bed early but I will be back tomorrow. Hugs

Todays Saying: Feeling better!

I was sick a few days and didn't even want to be on line. It was enough to work. I have sick leave, but I have so much work, I hate to get behind. The scab fell off my face and I will have a small scar. I can start putting the scar medicine on it that will lighten it. I am taking my computer to my friend today and may not get it back for a week so this will be my last post until then. So I have to save my stuff to a cd and do whatever else I need to do today. This will give me a chance to get other things done like clean my desk and file and maybe scrap. We have our amrriage group tonight. We greet at church tomorrow. The Women's board will be wearing new sweathsirts tomorrow that we are promoting and we will be kicking off our new year. I am excited about it. We have lots of things planned for tomorrow and lots of food too. Well I need to go and scan a few pictures. Then I am off to enjoy a relaxing bath, then a little shopping. Have a great week! Hugs

Todays Saying: Enjoying my day off!

It was so cold last night but I slept well with Reina next to me. I got to sleep in 'till 9:00am because of the Martin Luther King holiday. We went out for breakfast and then we went to Wal-Mart. I looked at the digital cameras and still did not get one but I did get a new basic HP Printer. Renee needs to print out her homwork assignments. It is time to take the computers in to be serviced so I will be taking it to my friend Cliff next Saturday and may be without it for a week. Renee and I both have meetings tonight and she is enjoying all the driving time she is getting and she is doing very well. She has to drive for 6 months before she can get her licence. That is 6 months before we have to pay her insurance. I had to share my new siggies. Nothing better than a hot drink and a good book. Hugs

Todays Saying: time to celebrate!

It was real cold last night after the clouds cleared away. I slept very well. Todays was our official grand opening at our church and it was great! Afterwards my whole family met at Hongs Kongs for lunch and to celebrate the January birthdays. My son Andrew turned 25, my nephew turned 15 and my me baby sister is 47. Life goes on. It was great to have my parents there. It was funny to hear about our wrinkles and skin problems and so on. We were talking about my biopsy and my moms when she had hers. We took pictures on my regular camera. I have yet to get my digital. I am going to look tomorrow. I think I want a Sony that has the 2.5 LCD screen. I am so blessed to be close to my family. Tomorrow is a realxing day for me! So I can play on the computer or rest or scrap. Have a great week!

Jan. 13 2006

Todays Saying: time to get busy!

Well we had planned on sleeping in. But Pooch, Marina's dog kept her up last night and when Marina checked her, she saw that she had a rash. So Andrew calls us at 6:30 for the vets number. Last night Pooch ate Jrs strawberry yogurt. So they think she had an allergic action and end up getting some benedryl shots and had to be observed. I went in for my eye appointment and now have to were progressive glasses. I do not wear contacts so I must have spent 30 minutes picking out a pair. Now I don't have to take them off and on or trade one pair for a stronger pair. I got some plain ones for jut night time reading. Well hubby is asleep in the easy chair with Pooch on him. I just put Reina on her bed. My son Andrew turns 25 tomorrow and it is the grand opening of our new church. My whole family is meeting here in Corona for lunch. My house is clean in case anyone stops over. I am off to get some chamomille tea and get my things ready for church tomorrow.Hugs

Jan. 13 2006

Todays Saying: Thank God it is Friday!

I showed my spot on my face to my friends at work today and they said it wasn't as bas as I described. I think it is. If I had a digital, I would share, but I don't yet. I have to take the bandaid off now and let it air out. I will check out the healing stuff tomorrow at Savons. I can't put it on until the scab covers it. I was super busy at work today and it made the time go fast. I was in a cleaning mood when I came home. The tree finally got packed and put away so I cleand and organized my living room and put my regular decor back up. Tomorrow I plan do get a lot more done too. I also have my eye appointment too. These eyes are not doing to well. Bye for now.

Jan. 12 2006

Todays Saying: Let's get physical.

I went to my other Dr appointment and met my new primary care Dr. She was really nice. She took the time to ask questions. My cholesterol came back high. I thought with losing weight it would go lower, but I ate out of control during the holidays. So time to get back to healthy eating and time to get more physical. More walking and back to the weights. I am snacking on almond and soybeans as I write. She said to eat spinach a few times a week to get more iron in my body and sweet potatoes. I had a tuna sandwich on whole grain bread for dinner. I need to cut back on caffeine and drink more water. The Dr. also looked at my cheek. I need to keep neosprin on it and after tomorrow I need to take the bandaid off. I am checking to medication that will cut back on scarring. They are out there, just very expensive. The Dr also put me on a cholesterol medicine called Zetia. It blocks absorption of cholesterol in the intestinal track. After that appointment, it was off for my mamogram. That went pretty well. My shoulders are sore from the way they positioned me. I am off to bed now. Bye for now.

Jan. 11 2006

Todays Saying: I am looking at the big picture.

I went to the Dr today and she brought in the dermtologist. They took a biopsy to rule out basal skin cancer. It was real painful when they were injecting me with the anesethic???-numbing stuff. I was feeling a bit faint toward the end of it and when she started cutting, I felt real faint and she had me lay down to complete the procedure. I was numb from the bottom of my eye to the top of my jaw. Like going to the dentist. So didn't feel anything but pressure. She had a hard time with the biopsy because of the bleeding. They had me stay down for awhile. Then she put a round bandaid and gave me a few extra. Now I have to wait 1-2 weeks and either way, I will have a scar. I got some prescritptions and then got myself a cafe _mocha de Mexico. Yummy! I got nonfat milk so I could have whipcream Okay, I am off to Bible study. Ok I am back and my face really hurts! Bible study was great and several of my friends prayed that everyone would be ok. When I was feeling down on Sunday, I went to the bathroom and a friend was crying. She is going through chemo and has lost her hair. I think God was showing me the big picture. So I may have a scar, but otherwise I should be fine. Time to go put Neosporin with pain killer in it and change the bandaid. I am almost afraid to look. Oh well, bye for now.

Jan. 9, 2006

Todays Saying: Back to normal almost.

Sunday I went to church and was suppose to greet with my husband but my son greeted with him. I was just feeling so self concious with this thing on my cheek. I decided to go in and just enjoy the worship and get my mind off of me. Later I went to a meeting at church that turned out well. I came home and worked on the scrapbook I have been doing. I need to go finish it but wanted to update before it gets to busy.Work has been superbusy. Today was the rate change and we were running low on 2cent stamps for the vending machines. So people were having to in the lobby. Personally, I think they should have put it off for another month. I git a Dr apptointment on Wed. for my face. Bye for now! Hugs

Todays Saying: Feeling yucky!

Af hit hard this month and the day after I had to have a blood test after a 14 hour fast. I was doing ok this morning and went and worked in the yard. I came in and felt shakey and I got a bad headache. So I took some meds and layed down. I still have the headache and just feel yuck. I will rest the rest of the day and go to bed early. I think I am down because I have had this spot on my face that I got around Thanksgiving. I was having it treated and just when it seem to get better, it got worse. I see my new family Dr on Thursday and I also have my mammogram that day. I will either go to work that day or take a sick day depending on how I feel. I have so much to do at work, especially with the rate change. Well hopefully I will feel better tommorow.

Todays Saying:

~Plans for the New Year~
By the way...What are your plans for 2006?
We are planning a cruise to Alaska in June with
about six other couples from our church.
I would like to learn to knit, and continue to scrap.
I want to get back on track with healthy eating and
go back to regular exercise.

We had a quiet New Years evening at home with the kids. I stayed up late putting packing my ornaments and I have a lot, mostly Hallmark. I pack them back in their individual boxes. Church was good and we talked about New Beginnings. That though we have all made mistakes in the past, we are to look forward and move on. Our recovery groups begin this Thursday and I lead the one on depression. We picked up Renee after church and we went out for lunch. Renee bought me a cute angel snowmen when she was at Lake Arrowhead Village. I am sure glad I get one more day home because it is going to pour tonight and tomorrow. Then back to the regular busy schedule which means less time on the computer. Well I am off to finish the last of the ornaments. Hugs and blessings.
