~The Memories of 2007~
By the way...What memories, good or bad, will you take with you from 2007?

I think having this blog is a good thing for me to be able look back during the past year. I think that the worst overall thing for me was hotflashes and weight gain. I know that I was depressed for awhile when Renee told me she was pregnant. But the highlight of my year was being there when my grandson was born, a new life. The final memory verse for the year at church is Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. PS 127:3
It is so nice to have a baby that I can love and then give back to the mommy. I do help out when I can but I am there to encourage my daughter and advise when I can and sometimes I have to let her do be a mommy. It is not easy for her since he is colicky. The good from the whole baby thing is that we showed each other that we are a family and we stick together. Not bad, but sad is the fact that my mom's health is not well and the good is that she is closer to my sisters. I plan to visit more often.
There are many more things but not enough time or space.

I will be staying home for New Years, but if I were going somewhere, I would like to be dancing. I plan to incorporate that in my exercise routing. We have a large carpet in the garage and we will get the garage all set to exercise. But first things first and I have all the Christmas things to put away. I will see what I can get done, but I am still struggling with this sinus thing. I may have to go to the Drs. Well I will end here for not. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Getting out, getting busy.

I have been up late everynight since I have been off work. I am a night owl and I know it will be hard when I have to go back to work and be up at 4:30 am. It has been very cold at night, in the 30's and that is cold for us here in So CA. I still have something going on with my nose and it is red, but I am feeling much better. Yesterday my cousin Joanie and I went to the movies and saw White Christmas. We really enjoyed it. It is about a black family and how they all come home for Christmas. Joanie I went shopping at Target afterwards to get some Christmas things and we both got the soundtrack to the This Christmas which I am listening to now. I stayed up late organizing the guest bedroom closet with all my scrap stuff. I took a table out of there and I plan to move this desk in that room. But not until I get my laptop. I got money from my husband and sons for Christmas and that will go towards the laptop. I need to decide which one I want. I want it mostly for word processing and listening to music. This morning my cousin Joanie called and said Alice wanted to meet for lunch. I made breakfast for Renee and then I showered and left. We had a nice time staying at the palce for a couple of hours. Then I hit Wal-Mart for a fe more Christmas itmes like cards, tissue, a prelit wreath and a few containers. I also got a winter outfit for the baby. When I got home, Renee, Edward and the baby left to the mall. Renee and Edward asked me if I could watch the baby a few days a week in the evening if Edward were to get a 2nd job. Renee would work part-time, enough to cover her car payment and insurance. I told her that would probably work out. I think it will be good for her to get out of the house and it would still allow her to be home with the baby. I told her she had to get the baby on some kind of schedule and she has about 5 weeks to do that. Edward would like to get a job at Disneyland since he loves that place and so do I! So we will see. I will end with my Friday Feast and Friday Fun

Appetizer: Name 2 things you would like to accomplish in 2008.
Get Spiritually and phsically fit.

Soup: With which cartoon character do you share personality traits?

Salad: What time of day (or night) were you born? Gee, I don't know???

Main Course: Tell us something special about your hometown.
Corona means circle or crown in Spanish. The city actually has a street that goes in a circle and they use to have road races back in the 40's, I am new to this city, moved here in 1990. I lived in Santa Ana for 35 years.
Dessert: If you could receive a letter from anyone in the world,
who would you want to get one from?
My mom. She is alive, but not able to write to me.

Our last Friday Fun of 2007!

1. Resolutions: Do you keep them or are they an exercise in futility?
One year I did keep it for a whole year. Lose weight. I plan to do it again this year.

2. New Year’s Eve: Stay at home or go out and dance the night away?
Stay home. Any special traditions? Watch the Rose Parade
3. Let’s not call it a resolution, but what are 5 things (of any importance)
you would like to accomplish in the upcoming year?
Read through the whole Bible.
Lose weight and get healthy by exercisig and eating healthy.
Get a laptop.
Scrap more often
Get organized.

A Christmas smile, Eddie's gift to us.

Todays Sayings: Feeling better!

This is the Baby Borjn pouch I am wearing with baby Eddie last night. Both times I have used it and he goes to sleep. I could not use it with the boys because they were so big and I had cSect, but I did use it with Renee. I actually put a blanket around Eddie and myself and took a walk down the street and back. The weather was nice and I enjoyed the Christmas lights. My back was not happy though. We still have a Santa Ana wind condtion and it really messes up my sinus/cold. Well I need to get ready for church. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Santa Claus is coming to town!

Hubby and I have been babysitting all day because Edward took Renee to Knotts Berry Farm for the day. Marina and Andrew came over and Marina had the baby for awhile so I can finally update. Edward and Renee took the baby to get his Santa pictures. Of couse Eddie thought Santa was soft and comfty and would not wake up. His outfit says ELF in it. The little ELF stands for Edward Layfayette Fuller! It was a busy week at work and I was real tired each day. I did get my living room and dining room back in order and decorating is done. I was going to lighten up this year, but Renee wanted to do a lot for the baby's first Christmas. We have not had any time to scrap. Maybe after Christmas when I will be off until the New Year. I have to get things ready for the baby's bath now. Happy Sunday!

Todays Sayings: Meeting Sue and Happy 1 month birthday grandson!
<

It was a cold sunny day today and perfect for meeting Sue from Canada. I picked up Sue at the train station in Tustin and 5 minutes later we were at the District shopping center. We ate at Lucilles BBQ We spent the next 2 1/2 hours talking the time away while enjoying our meal. I thank the Lord for giving me the opportunity to meet some of my net friends. I hope to meet Darylynn and Dru in 2008. After I dropped Sue back that the train station, I went back to the District and stopped in at Michaels and TJ MAx. This is what I found at TJ Max:

Well I am going to say goodnight. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Getting gifts together. Meeting Friends

Hi everyone, it seems that the hours fly. Yesterday I slept in and then stayed in my pj's most of the day. Perfect way to stay on a rainy, cold day. I even took a nap and woke up in time to go to dinner. Then hubby and I went out to Hibachi Steal House/Sushi bar. The food was great. Today we went to church and the message was on teens. It was given by the youth pastor since our regular pastor was on vacation. Then we went to lunch at the place Edwar works at called Carlos O'Brien, a Mexican food place and we had the Sunday brunch. Jr's parents joined us and it we had a nice time. I went to the Christmas Store across the street afterwards. Once we got home, I went with Andrew to look at a Townhouse that was in the 400's and is now $299.000. Prices really have dropped. The picture above was taken by the park in our neighborhood. The recent rain brought lots of snow to our local mountains. Since it was a cold day, Renee bundled the baby in his teddy ourfit that you see below. Tomorrow I met Sue from Suzie's Graphics. She is down here with her hubby who is on business. I will have pictures tomrrow. Time to check my laundry now and watch For One More Day. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Feeling better and remembering Pearl Harbor.

Thursday was a real busy day at work but at least the day went by quickly. I got off work at 12:30 and picked up my cousin Joanie. We had lunch at Baja Fresh and enjoyed hot Chicken tortilla soup, black beans, chips and salsa. Then we went shopping at TJ Max. We stopped at Michaels and Joanie got some Christmas Scrap paper. Now if we could actually find time to scrap! It rained Thursday evening and Friday morning. We really need the rain so I can't complain, but hubby is not a happy camper. The drains were not working properly on the deck and we got water damage in the garage. So Edward helped him on Wed and Jr finished Thur. I got to hold the baby for over an hour. Poor thing, has a stuffy nose so we had to use the nasal aspirator. He got mad when his daddy did it. But later his mom held him and talked to him as I use the aspirator, showing her how to add saline drops. He did not cry at all. He looked at her so trusting and I wish I could have taken a picture.
It was busy at work again. One thing I like to do at this time of the year is be a Santa's helper. Every year we get tons of letters to Santa. They are all opened and ready to determine need. Charity organizations will get the ones they feel they can really help. Those letters usually ask for the basics like food and clothing. The others go to the helpers were letters are mailed to each child if they included a return address. Some of them have really cute drawings. Some of them have a list a mile long! Santa letters and Dear God letters are the only sealed letters that can be opened. Some have postage stamps and some have a sticker or picture. Another cool thing, various cities in the US have special holiday postmarks. You can send your Christmas cards to the PM of that city in a large envelope and ask that they receive the special postmark.
Many flags were at half mast to honor Pearl Harbor. I was able to visit the Arizona memorial at Pearl Harbor in 2000. We spent several hours there and I am glad I did. I remember being on the memorial and watching the oil rise from the bottom. I remember seeing all the names of those that died and those that survived and then later had their names added once they died. It was a moving experience I will never forget.

Todays Sayings: Tummy feeling yucky!

My tummy had been bothering me the past few days. Enough to were I needed to stay home from work today. I guess I ate something this past weekend that just did not agree with me. My throat has been hurting too, but not the cold type sore throat, but lower and deeper. Evey year I say I am not going to over decorate, but then I do. I decided not to put garland on the stairs, then my daughter says "Itis the baby's first Christmas and we need to decorate. Like he would really know. Guess the kids to like the traditions we have had over the years. So I told her she could do it when she was not busy with the baby. I am trying to get my blog stuff updated with new Christmas items and I have been working on my annual Christmas page. I did get time to relax in the hot spa since we had warm weather today, around 84. I finished reading my book called Mosaic by Amy Grant. I enjoyed it a lot. I have always enjoyed her music. My Husband and I got to here her a few years ago and her husband Vince Gill made a special apprearance. I am reading the biography of Charles Schultz now. I need to get my things ready for work now. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Feeling rested and cold!

Friday night Jr and I went out to dinner at Miguels. It had been a stressful day, rainy which caused tons of traffic accidents and we were tired. So once we got home, I checked my emails and went to bed by 7 pm. I slept until 9:30. I was rested and then took the baby so Renee could get a little more rest. Jr and I left to Temecula to visit my parents in their new home and then we went to Red Robin to celebrate my sister Terry's birthday. We had a nice time with my family. My sister Ann will be a gramma in April so we were talking about that. Our family is growing. We will be having Christmas at Terry's house this year. It sure felt cold for the first day of Dec. Once we got home I got to hold my grandson and then I put him in his bouncer. He did fine for awhile and I changed him and he was falling asleep but then cried out. He was fussy and I rocked him for awhile. Renee fixed him a bottle of her milk and we took him upstairs to change him and I rocked him and fed him his bottle while Renee rested. It will be down in the 30's tonight and it will be nice to sleep in again tomorrow. I leave you BTWS and baby pictures.

Todays Sayings: Feeling a bit mentalpaused!

I like my job, once I am there. But I hate getting up early and leaving at 5:20am. Thankfully, my husband does the driving. He starts work at 6:00, then I drop my cousin Joanie off at her job that is 5 minutes away. I get to my job around 6:15, but don't start until 7 am. I work until 1 pm. Then I have a couple of hours before I pick up my husband, then my cousin at 3:30. We ususally get home around 4:15. Today we went to the market and got home at 5:30 and I was tired. I felt like I could just go straight to bed, but I am in the middle of Christmas decorating. Andrew came down for a few hours and I gave him several things from my collection of snowmen. I got a lot done, but there is still lots to do. Saturday we are going to Temecula and Sunday Joanie and I are getting together to do our Christmas cards. So you see, there is lots to do, but so little time. Well that is life and I just need to learn to declutter and keep things more simple. Not easy for me, but necessary. I did get to go to the Sugar Plum Craft Show. I noticed a lot less people there and I was very selective about what I got. I did find a few cute things that made it worthwhile. Renee and Edward went to Marina's mom's house to watch football and I miss my grandson. In the process of going through Christmas stuff, I missed most of Survivor and Grey's was a rerun. I did get my new office computer chair and a new computer. The computer is waiting to be set up, but I had files to save and work to get done. I know I am rambling, which shows that this mentalpause women needs to get to bed.

Grampa & Gramma Hallmark Ornaments
Todays Sayings: It's beginning to look like Christmas!

It was a busy day for me today and I got a lot done. I got fall all packed up and started Christmas decorating. I got the village all up and will finish tomorrow. We started decorating the tree today after our family tradition of passing out ornaments to everyone. Baby Eddie(Renee) gave Jr and my self our grandparent ornaments with pictures. That made me very happy. Renee also decorated stocking for the baby and Edward. I am going to put the pictures up at our annual Christmas Page. I am off to bed now. Hugs

Todays Sayings: A great day to rest!

I stayed up late Thursday evening and just needed the sleep. So I slept in until 10am. I was up for awhile and then sent back to sleep for another couple of hours. We ate left overs and watched TV and took down some fall decorations. I will be decorating for Christmas Saturday.

Todays Sayings:

I got to sleep for 12 hours, and I sure needed it. After I got up, I took the baby for 2 hours so Renee could sleep. Then I gave him to Jr. and headed to my hair appointment. I went a little darker to cover the fading highlights and I will add them back next spring. Then I was off to the market for a last few things. I got some flowers and pumpkins to maky my centerpieces. I made my stuffing and sweet potatoes and I just have to bake them. Jr is cooking a traditional turley and Daniel is going to BBQ one. Jr and Daniel made Cranberry-Orange salsa for tommorow. Renee had cabin fever so she and Edward went on a food run while I watched the baby. I end up putting him in the swing and he stayed in there for an hour and a half. I got to work on my Family site, Christmas pages and added the baby and Edward to the page. I will be working on the annual Christmas page too. Well I need to get to bed now because it is almost 2am but at least I can sleep in. Hugs and blessings.

Todays Sayings: A time to get caught up, a time to help.

After a long and fun day in San Diego yesterday, I stayed home today. I normally do not miss church unless I am sick or on vacation. But today I stayed home to watch the baby while Renee slept. I also got a few things done around the house that just needed to be done. I also washed baby clothes. Did I mention I changed 5 diapers today and got sprayed once. I also got the photos uploaded from San Diego and you can find the link to the left. I am working on the baby pictures too and hope to get them up tomorrow at the baby site. Daniel put up the Christmas light last night and we will be putting away fall and putting up Christmas this week. It is almost midnight and I have to get up at 5 am so I better go now. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Check up, check out.

It has been great sleeping in until 7,8,9. Renee brought Eddie to us this morning and Reina did good and just looked. Then Renee took her downstairs to feed her. Jr and I went to breakfast, did some more shopping and I picked up the pictures I had developed. Then I left again and joined Renee and Edward at the Dr's. Eddie did well at his Dr. visit and the jaundice is going down. Thanks for all the prayers. Then Renee met with the lactation nurse and she was great! She answered all of Renee's questions and then had Renee feed Eddie to make sure she was doing ok. She gave Renee some good tips and really encouraged her. She said having me and her aunts was good support that she needed. Did I mention I nursed my boys for 13 months. I know that in a week, Renee will really have it down pack. Eddie just wants to get his own fists in the way. Since it has been so warm, he really hasn't been in a receiving blanket much. After the appointment we got a regular photo book for all the pics we have taken. Renee choose specific ones for her baby book/scrapbook. I saw the cute sets that Darylynn has used but I have so many things already and no time to scrap at the moment. Renee's cousin came down and gave Renee a baby sling. Erica is expecting her 2nd baby in about a week and they were sharing mommy stories. After Erica left, Renee practiced using the sling with Reina. I plan to to visit my parents ar their new house in Temecula. I am also taking them some fetuccine that Edward made tonight. I have some chicken to go with it. Edward also bathed Eddie today before his Dr. appointment and Renee took pictures. Edward goes back to work tomorrow so Renee will be all alone for a few hours until Marina comes over. Jr and I plan to go to San Diego on Saturday with Andrew and Marina. I better get myself to bed now. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Hot summer weather.

It has been in the 90's the past few days, just like summer. I even took the baby out this morning and rocked him in the swing. I had him for 2 hours so Renee could sleep. Later, Jr, Daniel and I went shopping at Sam's Club and stocked up on lots of things. We did a little Christmas shopping too. My parents stopped by and my dad loved holding his new first great-child. I think Renee is beginning to understand what we meant how her life would forver change. Gone are the 8+ hours of sleep. Edward folded the load of baby clothes I had washed and tonight he will get a bath in the kitchen. We will take him to the Dr tomorrow and Renee will also see a lactation nurse. I was sorry to see Cameron leave last night. I liked how he dressed for his final dances. It is cool to see how the dances become toned as the weeks go on. It has been nice being off this week to help Renee and get a few things done. Jr will be off next week so Renee will still have help.

Todays Sayings: What routine?

Everyone went to bed early last night. Jr and I have turbo fans on so we did not here anything. I told Renee to call my on the cell phone if she needed me. They had an 8am appointment so they were gone before we even woke up. Then after wards they went to Target to get a few more things like breast pads since her milk is in now. When baby left, he was down to 7 pounds, 8 ounces. But he was back up to 7 pounds 13 ounces now that he is really nursing about every other hour for now. When they got back, Edward put the baby in my arms and he slept there for an hour. Jr. and I got a lot done today. I had to get Renee another pair of jammis and baby peed on those too. I washed a load of baby clothes today. Renee had no idea how often babies have to be changed. By 8:30 I told Renee to go to bed once she put the baby down. Edward is asleep downstairs in the guestroom and Renee is up in her room with baby in the crib. We are going to bed after Dances with the Stars. Here are some more pictures.

Todays Sayings: Baby Eddie staying one more day in the hospital.

Four generations

I didn't sleep much last night. I wanted to get things done around the house and make a welcome poster. I think I drank to much tea when we went out to dinner. Then my mind kept going over the whole thing. Friday evening Renee and I were doing some things in her room. She had it her room picked up and was working on a list of things she still had to do like wash her sheets. She was complaining that her back hurt. Then later she did again and I told her she could be starting labor. I told her to go to bed early and do did I. Well she came into the room at 7am with tears in her eyes and said she woke up around 1am and figured it was labor and she started timing them and then drifting to sleep until 5 when it got worse. Well I had her get in bed with me and I rubbed her back and timed here. I told her that the pains were coming around every 5-6 minutes and that she should get up and take a shower. She called the hospital and they told her to get over there. I had her call Edward and she did saying "I think you better get over here" She got dressed while we got the things in the car. Then we were on our way. Luckily the traffic was not to bad. We got to the hospital a little after 9am and it was very busy so they put us in a small room which we had been in before. She went to the bathroom to change and she felt that urge. They hooked her up and we watched the contractions and they seemed to be coming quicker that 5 minutes. Then I saw the baby's heart drop and I called a nurse and told her about the heart and that Renee had not been examined. So the nurse checked her and said, Oh my she is already at 9 centimeters and that they needed to get her to delivery. So things moved pretty quickly after that. I called Marina and told her and she let her job. We all went to the delivery room which was pretty big. There were several people in the room. Marina was not there yet. A Dr. came in only to go rushing out when a code blue was called. It end up being a baby in distress and the needed to do an emergency c-section. They put an IV in Renee's arm and then they broke her water bag. The contractions were getting stronger and she was in pain and saying she didn't want to do this and I told her she could and she would soon have her son in her arms. She wanted an epdural at that point but they told her it was too late and that she was ready to push. Then I started to get that feeling I get when I want to faint. I leaned over and took some breaths and was praying at the same time. But then I knew I needed to go lay down. So when I got up the nurse told me to go to the couch and told the other nurse to get me some juice. Meanwhile I can her them with Renee and I am drinking the juice and starting to feel better. After a few minutes I felt better and sat in the rocking chair. Marina was taking pictures because Renee was pusing now. She did need the episiotomy. After that the nurse in training had to lay on the couch. She said she didn't too many "natural births" because most women had epidurals. It was great to see my grandson being born. To see his head come out and then his body come out and her "its a boy" and her that newborn cry. After they clearned his nose and mouth and cleaned him a little, they gave them to Renee and then tended to her. Great to see the bonding of the parents, our family.

Prayers are needed because the baby has a touch of jaundice and is staying another night. That was hard on Renee, especially when the pediatrician said she had to give him formula to help with the jaundice. I told her that things would be fine. Several visitors came, my sister Ann and her husband my me neice Madeline, my fried Alice, then my mom, sister Terry and her son Diego. Then they left. I suggested to Edward that he go shower and change and come back and so he did. Renee ate her dinner and got up and even picked up the room. Then my cousin Joanie came who is like and aunt to Renee. When Edward came back and they were all settled watching the Chargers game, I left. We will go back tomorrow. I am so glad that I will be off with her this week. After I left the hospital, I stopped at the market to get Renee some things to eat when she comes home. I need to get myself to bed now. Hugs to all thanks for the congratulations.

Thanks to Julie for the wonderful gifts!

Todays Sayings: Pray for no induction.

I was able to go to Renee's Dr appointment today. She is 2 centimeteres dialated and 80% effaced. The baby's head is down in position and the Dr. thinks she will go in labor this week. If she hasn't by Sunday (18th )they will induce to get the contractions going. Tomorrow we will be in Temecula helping my parents move. I feel like I am coming down with a cold and I sure hope I am not. I am going to go to bed early and see how I feel. I hope Renee's baby comes at the end of the week because there are a few more things to do.

As you can see I had to make myself a granny too like Darylynn. Notice how I have black hair too? I am not ready for the grey. My gramma Chona was always grey to me and that was ok. I wish we could add more things. I would have thad a camera around my neck and a scrap book but as you can see I opted to have the baby and a dog. It will be interesting to see how Reina my "fur baby" will react to the new baby. Tonight Renee and I went for dinner at the Galleria Mall and then shopping for her nursing bras. We also got a baby calendar. Renee made me laugh because she wanted to know where the months were and I told her she had to fill in everything based on the baby. Nov is the first month, not Jan. lol!It was a nice evening. Then I got home and my younger sister called to say that this was the weekend my parents were moving and if I could help on Sat. I told her I would be there if I was not at the hospital. It is a big step for my parents who are 74 and 73. I know it will be hard to leave their home of 31 years and with mom having alzheimers, it will be even harder for her. Luckily they are moving in the same neighborhood as my two sisters in Temecula. Tomorrow I am having dinner with my friend so we can share our menopause moments together as two of us get ready to will become grandmas this year. Notice how I use both ways to spell grandma. When I think of my grammas, I have good, warm, loving memories and gramma was the way I called them. Ok, I am off to bed. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Limping through another week.

Hi friends. My shoulder/neck is feeling better, but my knee has been bothering me. Hopefully it won't be for too long. The spa has really helped. As you can see I changed graphics again. I love this set and I love fall. I have been busy "organizing". I plan to get a lot of things done before the baby comes. Well I have been eating chocolate from Halloween. I love Heath Bars and Butterfingers. I normally don't eat much chocolate. I wonder if the endless hotflashes are promting it? Ok I thought I would try that excuse. Renee got a gift from Nancze today. Renee called and said someone sent her an iron ad I laughted. I told her to open the gift up. Here she is with it. I am off to a Hallmark Open House. Hugs

Todays Sayings: 2 weeks to go.

Sunday was a busy day for our family. After church I stopped in at Costco's to get fresh fruit and a Pasta Chicken salad to take to take to the baby shower at Marina's mom's house. Renee was blessed again with the generosity of so many. Edward attuned also, both of them in matching red outfits. Friday I was shopping and TJ Max while waiting for my husband and I was talking to Renee. I mentioned the fact that she needed a laundry basket for the baby. Then as I turned to the next isle, I noticed some wicker baskets stacked on the high shelf. One of them had the blue check that was on her changing table. I got a sales person to take it down. Luckily there was a smaller basket inside the larger one. I filled that basket with baby things and gave that to her. I gave her a second bag filled with goodies for her to pack in her hospital bag. We will be going shopping Tuesday to get her a nursing gown and bras.

While we were at the party, there were about 16 guys at my house playing a Halo tournament. Most of the boys were from our church. My son Andrew leads a young men's group and they were all there along with friends and relatives. There was lots of pizza, soda and chips. They were in 3 rooms but all connected to each other. Jr stayed upstairs with Reina. The games lasted until 7:30 and would have gone on longer if Andrew had not said it was time to end. Andrew cleaned up and then he and Marina left.

Edward took up all the gifts and as Renee took out all the clothes, he hung up the Baby Snoopy comforter on the wall. I had suggested it since there was a blank space on the wall and 1 diaper accident could ruin it. Once Renee received the soft Snoopy blanket from Darylynn and her daughter Jessica, she decided she would use that in the crib. So the room is complete now. She is off work today and will be doing the rest of the baby clothes as she works on her thank you notes. The baby's clothes are ready and she just has to pack her bag, There are so many baby outfits and different sizes. I put a 3rd picture show up at the baby blog and updated the family and gifts section. The baby got 2 cute snowmen outfits and I want to put him in the middle of all my large snowmen.(if Renee allows it) I am not sure Reina will be happy with that since she likes to take her picture with the snowmen too!

Finally as we end the month her is a fact for you:The Breast Cancer Research semi postal stamps have generated more than $54 million for research since their debut in 1998. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Todays Sayings: Thank God for cooler weather.

I really wanted to sleep in this morning but Jr woke me up to see the sunrise. I could not go back to sleep and we were hungry so we went to IHOP. I love the oat nuts pancakes. We went back home and back to bed. The weather was cloudy and cooler. Great for the fighters to fight the fire. Renee asked if we were still going to Knott's so she could go to the Snoopy store. I told her that Baby Eddie had to move for gramma and he did, quite a bit. Well we girls took our showers and we were off. I put up pictures at the baby's blog. There are 3 under gifts that Renee got in the mail. A soft Snoopy blanket from Darylynn, a diaper bag from Tammy, A diaper Gennie from my friend Irene from work. Tomottow is Renee's last baby shower given by "Auntie Rina" and her mom.

Todays Sayings: Firewatch, coming closer!

Sadly, the Santiago fire is still burning and coming closer to my city. We are ok unless the wind shifts but ther is lots of ash and very smokey. There are over 1400 fire fighters out there fighting it. Then I heard that the Santa Ana winds might come back on Monday and that would make things worse. The fire is only 30% contained. To think it was caused by arson.

Yesterday was my hubby's birthday and went to Claim Jumper, Jr's parent's joined us and we had a nice time. We say several firemen stopping for dinner. A lot of Corona fire fighters are helping, but others still have to be in the city. I think I am going to get in the spa for awhile and may update some more later. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Firewatch!

I was shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond and the power went out. Turns out that a whole section of the city went out for 30 minutes. It went back in time for me to hit Trader Joes for a few thing. I love to eat almonds so I got 2 bags. One for work and one for home. I got my favorite Jasmine Green Tea. I also got some cranberry pills because my bladder has been a little irritated. I was drinking lots of diet cranberry juice, even that had sugar. I told Tammy that I was full of energy on a sugar high!I am feeling better too. I was able to get a few things done at home. There is a bunch of things that are now downstairs and ready to go out. Edward put more things up in Renee's closet. Then he put together the Pac N Play and baby bouncer. The next thing will be the swing. He is also going to hang a curtain up for her. They are planning on taking pictures together with her big tummy. They have their last Lamaze class this Thursday. Renee and I also got the upstairs bathroom organized. Daniel will clean the floors and put up a 2nd vanity. Daniel has been busy organizing the garage. He is getting it done at the request of his dad. Jr just wants his garage organized for this birthday which is Thursday. Well I am having another hot flash so I think I will get some juice. Please keep the firefighters and the people involved in prayer. Thanks

Todays Sayings: Lots of Birthdays

I had a busy day yesterday. I over slept but made it to my hair appointment. I cut 2 inches off and got it colored. It feels better now. Then Renee and I went to a birthday party for my grand nephew. Renee got to see lots of little boys in action. Then we went and bought cusions for the rocking chair. The chair is the one I used with my babies. We put the curtains up and she put away her baby's clothes and blankets. Later we went out at Black Angus to celebrate my mom's birthday. We also celebrated my nieces and my husbands birthday. We had a nice time together. Towards the end, Renee felt light headed and my hubby and son Andrew walker her out to the car so she could rest. She was on her feet most of the day. We came home and we all went to bed early. It was very windy last night and the back yard is a mess.

Todays Sayings: 24 days till Baby Eddie gets here!

Yesterday Darylynn became a grandma and my turn is coming up. I added a picture to the site under Renee. It was taken while Renee and Edward were washing the baby clothes. The crib is ready to go now. I have been soaking in the hot tub to help with the pain in my neck. Saturday I am getting my hair done and I dread getting my hair washed because of my neck pain. I am ready to go shorter now and of course color the grey. Well I need to go and watch Grey's Anatomy. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Time to lose weight!

I really need to lose a few pounds. I have had no will power and I have been too tired to exercise. I know that I need more sleep. I also worry about Renee. Rene gained 12 pounds! The dr checked did an ultrasound to measure her amniotic fluid. The Dr told her she has a lot of water weight and to cut out the salt but drink more water. She has had swollen feet and face for the past couple of days. So I think we both need to cut out the salty food and chocolate. Tammy has been trying to motivate me. I wish she could come over and kick me out of my bad habits. I know part of it is because I have been taking lots of meds to control the pain. I tend to crave more carbs. Today is the first day that I actually feel better. I should get off the computer and go on the treadmill but I just ate. Daniel made this great mango salsa and shrimp. Jr. grilled swordfish which I ate with the mango salsa and it was great. Well I am going to atleast take a walk. I need to change first. So I will end here. I will be praying for Darylynn's daughter Jessica since her baby is do any day now.

Todays Sayings: This is the day that the Lord has made!

I finally got to sleep in today. We stopped by Del Taco before going to church and had chicken soft tacos. We greeted at church today as we do every other Sunday. That means we welcome the people and they come in and hand them the bulletins. After church we went to Shoguns for Sushi with the boys. Renee and Edward went to Marina's parents to watch the Raiders and Chargers game. Renee is a Chargers fan and she has 2 baby Charger outfits and a blanket. I like to check the baby's website and see who tagged and I was really touched to see that Eddie signed it and how he loves his son. It brought tears to my eyes. I went shopping at Kohl's yesterday and got a few things for work. Now that the weather is cooling off, I needed some pants and a few sweaters. My neck is bothering me more now than my shoulder. I guess I need to go back to the Dr. Renee and Edwrd started ther Lamaze classes. Just 4 weeks to go. Have a great week!

I am just about ready to get in the spa. Renee and Edward are on their way to Lamaze classes. The baby is due 1 month from today. Edward moved the large gifts to the guest bedroom becuase I wanted to get my dining room back in order. I found a changing pad today that matches her baskets she is using with her changing table. My son is bring Subway for dinner. Renee's next baby shower date has to be moved. Marina and her mom were hosting it and her Nana's husband died today. I am going in the spa to soak my shoulder now. Todays Sayings: Got clothes?!

Baby Eddie has so many outfits now and they are all so cute! It was nice being off today. Jr and I slept in and the we went to Polly's for breakfast. We also returned the chairs I had rented for the party. We picked up some groceries and headed home. Renee worked on her thank you notes. Then Edward came over and he and Renee took everything to her room and since he was there I asked him to fix her closet. He is going to fix her car this weekend. Since Marina was over, Jr fixed his spaghetti, her favotite. Her grandpa is in the hospital and may not make it. Well I am off to see Dances wtih the Stars. Here are a few of the outfits.

Todays Sayings: A time to rest!

The shower was a success and Renee was really blessed with so many things. Baby Edward is going to be a little fashion baby with all the cute thing he got. I put up a new link at the baby blog listed as Baby Shower 2. I over did it and I am sore all over. I got in the spa for awhile this morning, but it was so windy I had to get out. I will go back in later. I am so glad we are off work tomorrow so I can rest. Renee got some presents at church this morning. Everything is on the dining room table. Renee just bought the Dreft to wash the clothes. She will really have lots of laundry to do soon. I am off to rest now. Happy Sunday!

Todays Sayings: Count Down!

Tomorrow is the baby shower for Renee and I was busy shopping today. I picked up several things at Costcos after work. Thankfully I am off work on Monday and I plan to rest. Renee has one more week to work the 4-11 am shift. Then she will go from 8-2 which is way better for her. She plans to work up to a week before she is due depending on how she feels. She has had a bad cold now but has worked anyways. She is trying to get her hours in so she can have a little money for Christmas. My sister is coming over tonight and is going to help me get things ready. My shoulder is better but my mid back had been hurting. I think it is coming from over reaching with my left shoulder. I have been so tired and busy that I have not even been in the spa. I was able to stay up and watch Survivor and Greys. This is the first time Jr and I are watching Survivior and it is very interesting. They need to send home the girl that looks like a toothpick. She seemed so haughty in the beginning but not now. I have been going down memory lane tonight. Here is a picture of Renee that her foster mom took with the dress she made her. She also made a photo album and blanket to match. The second picture is her doll that had straight hair but Renee braided. I am off to bed now.

Todays Sayings: Be ready for a change of plans.

Friday we went to the conference and it was good. They had a great drama with 3 senarios of the same situation.Out of around 100 couples, we were the 4th longest married couple with 33 years. The others were 38, 39 and 42 years. The shortest time was 3 weeks. Though interesting, it was hard to focus because we were so tired. Saturday we over slept and I knew it was going to be crazy trying to rush to get there so I asked hubby if he wanted to just take our time and not go. Since we had been through marriage counseling a few years ago and covered lot of the same material we agreed. We will complete the workbook on our own. I felt good about it. The old me would have insisted we go inspite of being tired our or busy. It worked out good for us because we end up going to Target with Renee and she picked out the gift she wanted with the money my parents gave her and she chose the Fisher Price cradle swing. Then she went to her friends house and we headed to Knotts Berry Farm. Renee is decorating the babay's side of the room with Snoppy and so we went to the Snoppy store and selected some items. Then after walking around we head to the Chicken Dinner place and had a great meal. Not the healthiest, but great tasting! We talked about being grandparents and how far we have come in our 33 years of marriage. It was a nice date for us even though we played hookie from the conference. My cousin Joanie said it was good. Now for today, We were on our way to church when we got a call from Renee. she said she was not feeling the baby move as much and was worried so Edward took her to the drs. They admitted her to Labor and Delivery to monitor the baby. They admitted her to check her out. We were greeters at church and I told Jr I would leave after we were through greeting. I told my friend Alice and she said she would greet for us and for for both of us to leave. That is what a good friend does. So we left and got to join Renee in the labor delivery and everything was ok. Jr and I got to go in the room with her. I had to laught cause Edwards was watching the Colts game. The nurse said that Renee did the right thing to come in. They showed us the baby's heartbeat readings the spikes were movements and there were no bad drops indicating trouble. The midwives came in and they did an ultrasound to check the fluid and that was ok. We were both excited to be able to see our grandson moving and again they pointed out the boy parts. the baby is in position and just cramped. So we left and had lunch at Costco's because Renee was craving pizza and the berry smoothine. Darylynn, Renee picked out the beige robe and I got a green one. We bought some chicken apple sausage for the grill and some more of the protien bars. I am so ready for a nap now. Bye

Sept 28,
Todays Sayings: The weather if falling again :)

The temperature has dropped again and that is great for us. It has been a long week and I am pretty tired, but my shoulder is feeling better. Tonight we are going to a marriage conference that our church is hosting. It continues tomorrow. My husband is getting showered now and we are going to get some dinner before it starts. So bye for now. Hugs

Sept 25,
Todays Sayings: The body is weak, but the spirit is strong. You can take that saying a number of ways. I know my body hurts right now, but as long as my emotional spiritual self is ok, I am ok. I took a liitle too many pain pils yesterday and it made me sick so I did not make it to work today. Turns out for the best. I was able to get back to my Dr. so she could give me the other part of my medical update on my condition. My husband and I also had a great lunch at El Torrito. We had tortilla soup, salad, chicken soft taco and fruit. When we got back I soaked a long time in the spa. Thanks to my famiily's help, we got decorated for fall. That is the picture you see on top. Normally I decorate just the front, but now we decided to do the back since we are out there so often. Renee also got to organize her room. She fixed up the organizer with the baskets we got at Michales. The changing table was hers when she was a baby. I offered to buy her one to match the crib but she wanted hers. I just need to make a cover for the changing pad. I put the picture at the babysite under baby items. I am off to see

Sept 23, 2007 Todays Sayings: God is there through storms and sunshine.

I had a great weekend. Though in pain, I could tolerate it with the help of my meds. Saturday I woke up early and rested. We went out for brunch and then Renee and I went shopping and found baskets for her changing table at Michaels. Then I took Renee for a much needed haircut. Then we met my family in OC and had dinner to celebrate my dad's 74th birthday. Sunday we all went to church and Pastor Jim talked about how the storms in life can grow us.A lot depends on how we deal with it. We must trust in God, not ourselves. We have to take a step out in faith and move beyond our emotions. God gives us what we need. When Renee got pregnant, it was a stressful time for us at first. This was our little girl. But then we looked at the big picture and saw that we still had a lot going for us. Our family was there for each other and we had friends to support us. Now I will be a grammie in 50 days and I am excited. After church, we went to lunch with our friends, then spent time catching up with each other's lives. After we got home I got to decorate for fall. I have fall florals all over. I will post pictures in the next few days.

Dad and Mom

Edward and Renee at church both with their new hair styles.

Sept 21, 2007 Todays Sayings: To blessed to be stressed.

Yesterday I put up my autumn wreath. I also took Reina for long walk. I also had my Dr's appointment and my Dr. prescribed vicodin. I have taken in before when I was in a lot of pain. When my shoulder really flares up I will take a Motrin and muscle relaxant but sometimes that doesn't work. Then I have to take the vicodin. I don't like to take it to long because it can be addicitng. I am so in the mood to decorate but I have to be patient. Last night Jr and I watched Survivor in China and we enjoyed it. Since I am not couseling this season, I get to watch that along with the other shows I like to see. Greys Anatomy and Dancing with the Stars, the Bachelor and American Idol. I will also be watching the spin off from Greys called Private Practice. I will need to have my hand weights close by so I can at least get some form of exercise in. Well I need to get off the computer for awhile. I am going to get in the spa and do some shoulder stretches. Have a nice weekend. Hugs

Sept 19, 2007 Todays Sayings: Fall is arriving and staying I hope.

I haven't been on much because my shoulder has been hurting quite a bit. I have been taking lots of pain meds and I see the Dr. tomorrow. This is an old injury that flares up and I think the weather bothers it too. I finally changed my into and blog over to fall. I would like to decorate my home also, but with my shoulder, I will have to wait a bit. We are about ten degrees below the normal and I love it. Renee is due in 9 weeks and I am getting excited. The Dr says she is doing fine. She and Edward just need the birthing relaxation class. She will have one more ultrasound to check the baby's head position. The baby is about 4 pounds right now. I finished my Mandisa book and really enjoyed it. Well I am off to bed. Hugs

Sept 13, 2007 Todays Sayings: Ready for another celebration.
Tomorrow is the first day ceremony for the new Mendez Stamp

Several of us stuffed 1000 first day cards into envelopes for the ceremony tomorrow. 2 things make this special for me. The first one is that the stamp honors the grandparents of my cousin and best friend Joanie. The second thing is that the stamp will be issued in Santa Ana at the Mendez school that was named in the honor of Gonzalo and Felicitas Mendez. You can click on the stamp to learn more. This case (1947) made the way for the future Brown Vs The Board of Education (1954) allowing all kids to attend public schools together regardless of race/color. I was lucky to meet Felecitas and her family one Christmas with my cousin Joanie.
I have been busy the past few weeks working on invites for the occasion. Today several of us in our department stuffed the frist day ceremony cards. 1000 of them that will be passed out tomorrow. I had my hair done today, straight again. It will be a busy day tomorrow. I hope to take a few pictures to post. Bye for now. Hugs

"when God want you to go somewhere in your life, He will make the way" Too many times we are trying to make our way through situations instead of giving it to Got to how us the way. "He can tech you a new way to move so you can take the next step." Sometimes we keep doing things the same way and get no where. God wants us to trust in Him and follow. Makes me think of the song that says, "where you lead, I will follow, anywhere that you want me too, If you need me to be with you, I will follow were you go. I "The God who made the mountains will help you take the next step." "Don't miss what God has for you because of your insecurities and fear. He is there with you in the mountains and lowlands of your life." "Don't live with a narrow heart." "Live Lovely, Love Lavishly"

Every year there is the regular team of WOF speakers and then there are the guest speakers. This year we heard Anita Renfroe and she is a comedian and singer. Oh we laughed until we cried. Then there was the heartfelt story is Carol Kent. I love the regulars and you can read more at the site.

Sept 6, 2007 Todays Sayings: Busy scrapping and card making.

Today I worked on Renee's invitations today. I got the material I ordered that matched the bedding. I think I will make the changing table pad cover or a blanket. Today I shared my scrap tips with Tammy and I think I have her hooked! :) Tomorrow and Saturday I will be at the Women of Faith confernece. I try to go every year and this year we have close to 100 women from our church going. It should be fun. It is at the Pond. We will leave early Friday and stop at Olive Garden for dinner. Then we will have a tailgate party at the pond on Sat. I am off to the spa now. Hugs

Sept 3, 2007 Todays Sayings: Shake and bake.

Yesterday we had a 4.6 earthquake around 10:15. Poor Reina ran under the kitchen table and would not come out for a few minutes. Turns out it originated in our city, on the south side towards Lake Elsinore. Then it got up to 109! We went to a surprise birthday in Riverside and it was 113. It was awful. We left early to get my meds and we stopped by Michaels because they had the Cricut Systemon sale! I got one for me and Renee. Jr and I were in the spa until 11pm and it was relaxing. We end up leaving the air on all night because it was so hot and we finally slept all night. Of course we may have a heart attack when we get the electric bill. Renee had to be at work 7 am this morning. We plan to stay home today. I plan to scrap and clean the floors. Have a great day! Hugs

Sept 2, 2007 Todays Sayings: Heat Wave Go Away Now!....

It hit 106 Saturday. We have had to have the air on all day and I know I am going to faint with the next bill. Renee started her training at Target and she is happy that she gets 10% all her purchases and that sure will come in handy with the baby. I made her breakfast before she left. Here is a picture of her I took before she left.

Renee before leaving to her new job.

My cousin Joanie and I went to the Joanne's Crafts to take advantage of their Labor Day sale Saturday. We got lots of scrap stuff. Then we had lunch at Mimi's cafe were we shared the Citrus Salmon and salad with basalmic vinegar and sliced strawberries. We had the bet raspberry tea aslo. Then we headed to her house to scrap. Actually we spent time using her new Cricut System

Citrus salmon from Mimi's Cafe.
I plan to do more scrapping this weekend and maybe some housework.
Habby Labor Day! Hugs

August 30, 2007 Todays Sayings: Heat Wave Go Away!....

I finally opened up my gift I won at Women's Fellowship. It was a Women of Faith book on Contentment. Luckily I am a reader, and will add that to my list to read. I am really enjoying my Mandisa CD. She was a finalist for American Idol 2006.
Work has kept me very busy but I like that. It makes the time go by faster. I went out in the field yesterday and I got to go to the Toyota Headquarters in Torrance. We also stopped in San Pedro for lunch. San Pedro is home to the Port of LA where lots of cargo ships come in. It was much cooler there than my home.
Renee starts her new job with Target on Saturday. I am thankful that they hired her even though she is so far along. She is glad about it too. She is not sure of her hours, but she should find out on Saturday. Then after the baby she will have to decide what will work with childcare. I know I will be watching my grandson whenever I can, but I still have 3 more years to work for the Postal Service. Even then I will probably work part time in my city after I retire.
It was over 100 today and I enjoyed my spa in the evening. I lowered the temperature so if felt really nice. I am off to get ready for work. Have a great Labot Day Weekend. Hugs

August 27, 2007 Todays Sayings: Changes in store....

Thanks for the prayers, Renee's test came back ok. Mine came back on the high side. So I called to order more meds and I am going to start walking tomorrow and eating better. I stayed home today because this was the day to take my test but since I took it Saturday with Renee, I didn't have to go. Renee and I took Reina to Pet Smart to get a harness and some treats. I have been working on a photo show for her first baby shower that her friends gave her. Katleyn is her best friend and she left to UC Berkely last Sat. Her other friend Ricki left to San Francisco State. Renee is going to UC Baby. Her friend have been supportive of her. They are all encouraging her to hold onto her dreams of working with animals. It will have to wait, but for now the most importnat thing is baby Edward. Renee and I are off to Women's Fellowship at church. It will be nice and cool in there! I am back now. I had a nice time. I even won a door prize! I didn't want to open it because it was so pretty. Afterwards we went to Target so Renee could get her shirts for work. I am thanful for a great church, great friends and my relationship with a loving God. I am off to bed now. Here is a picture of the prize. I will open it up in the next few days.

My pretty prize

August 25, 2007 Todays Sayings: A long day!

I woke up at 5:30am and could not sleep. So I got up and started laundry and got on the computer until7. Then I woke Renee up. Today was her glucose tolerance test and I had to have my blood drawn too to check my cholesterol and blood sugars. We got there before 8 and she went in first and then me. Then I went to the car and got our scrap stuff and we had it all layed out on a large table in the cafeteria. Since we had to be there until 11, we needed to do something to pass the time since she had to have blood drawn at 9, 10, and 11 o'clock. It helped the time go byy. I made 3 trips outside to the car for things and I did get my exercise in. I got to drink some coffee after my test. After we left Kaiser, we went to Red Lobster for lunch. I had shrimp scampi and she had the chicken fingers. It sure was good after not having anything to eat for 17 hours. We headed to the Galleria Mall so she could get khaki colored pants for her job at Target. She starts next Saturday. We went to Michaels to get cardstock for her baby shower invites with my 2 40% coupons. Then to Joann's to get some scrap stuff that was on sale at 40%. She picked out a scrapbook album for the baby. We both needed a nap when we got home. After my nap I was doing something on the computer when it started acting up and I thougt it died for sure. But finally I tried the system restore and it is running again. I really need a new computer. I am going to look at the adds tomorrow. Bananasouffle.jpg
August 21, 2007 Todays Sayings: Enjjoying my backyard!

It was another warm day and I finally got a chance to go in the spa. We emptied and over the weekend to clean it. I got all the right combination of chemicals is and warmed back up to 100 degrees. We rearrangee some stuff in the yard and swept it up. I also got a raft and I enjoyed laying on it and reading. I finished my book Having a Mary's Spirit. Then I just enjoyed hearing the windchimes and watching the hummingbirds. It was very relaxing. Thanks for all the nice comments about my hair. It is back to its natural curl again. I am off to bed now. Hugs

August 18, 2007 Todays Sayings: Great family Time!

We had a very nice time today at the party, I plant to write more later. Hopefully we will do this for my parents next year for their 55th.

Hubby and I. It was over 90 today and finally cooling down.

Here I am with my sister Terry.
I am 52 and she is 50. But we don't feel it.

August 17, 2007 Todays Sayings: Busy at work, but doing ok.

The week went by fast especailly at work since I was busy with several projects. It has been really hot all week and I enjoyed the spa several times in the evening. Renee and I went shopping one night so I could get a dress for a wedding we are going to tomorrow. I got my pedicure done while waiting for my husband and then I had my hair done after work. I did something really diffent with my hair, straigtened it. I will take pictures tomorrow with my new dress. My aunt and uncle are renewing their vows at their 5oth anniversary and they are having the work, reception and dance. It will be out out but nice in the evening for dancing. I added 2 pictures to my scrap blog taken while away last week. Renee called me and told me that her glucose blood test came out high and she has to have it done again. This may mean she has gestational diabetes and you can read about it Here. The 2nd test should determine if she does have it and then she will have to watch her diet and get more exercise. I think the whole family will start a lower carb diet. Please pray that she does not have it. I need to get my scrap room cleaned since Andrew and Marina will be spending the night after the wedding. Hugs

August 13, 2007 Todays Sayings: Back to the real world again.

I had a nice birthday and get away weekend with my husband. We stayed at the Dana Point Harbor Inn. The weather was nice, in the 80's which was nice compared to the almost 100 here. We spent our first night in Dana Point. We had an early dinner at Harpoon Henrys. The food was great. Afterwards we went walking along the Harbor checking out the shops. August 8, 2007 Todays Sayings: A day to play.

Yesterday Ed the Retail Specialist took some of us out to lunch to thank us for helping him out. We ate at a Chinese food buffet. I came home with a headache and went to bed. I felt better today. After work I went to the Scap Oasis to work on my birthday card page for my cousin Joanie who just turend 50! Today Joanie and I met at Kadny Scrappers and we were laughing because we spent more time walking around the store looking at the items than we did scrapping. In fact I only added one picture and did one prearrangement. I don't think Joanie will ever finish Oliva's book because everytime we go in there, she finds new paper and then adds more pages after taking some of them apart! He sanguine likes the colrful papers and her melancholy spends forever figuring how it will all fit together. My melancholy does the same thing, though a little more conservative in the paper. My choleric gets it done when it needs to be done. Such is the way of the temperaments. Good thing we are not phlegmatic or nothing would get done! If you want to know what in the world I am talking about go Here
After we scrapped we went to Mr. Tortillas for dinner. As we ate, Olivia called from Lake Tahoe to ask Joanie to call Nathan to bring some items. Then Pastor Jim gets on the phone to ask Joanie why she is not at Bible study. So we are laughing and then she tells him she is having dinner with me and then he now knows I did not go either. Well she tells him we are celebrating our birthdays since she will be with them when it is my birthday. But it was all in fun. I am so glad we can all play around like this. Then Joanie told me this story about when she went walking and got so hot that she decided to take a quick shower in the park sprinkers to cool down. She is loving it when an old lady yells that it is reclamated water. She ran home to jump in the shower. I was laughing so hard I was crying. It was so much fun. I will leave you with this picture of us. Thank you Lord for laughter and friends and good food. Hugs

August 5, 2007 Todays Sayings: Another nice day.

The weather has cooled down to the 80's and will be like that all week. Today we greeted at church. The Series is called Facing the Giants and the topic was fear of failure. This is something most of us experince at one time or another. I know I have. I think the key thing is not to let our emotions rule us. I know how important it is to open up and share with others. I also know that it is better to try and fail than not to try at all and miss opportunities to grow and learn. God gives us all abilities and we are suppose to use them and not let fear keep us from using what God has given us. I know fear kept me from going into the medical field. I also know that God gave me other abilities that I have used. I can't go back and udo the past. I can take one day at a time and move forward and keep moving, and growing. I can offer what I have learned to other's. Renee and Edward sat with us at church and then we all went to Sizzlers for lunch. Renee liked my new outfit I got while shopping with the girls and wanted a picture of her and I together. They left to the beach and we came home to relax. Well we did take Reina and Pooch for a walk. Andrew and Marina went away for the weekend so we have been dogsitting. I am off to scrap. Have a great week! Hugs

August 4, 2007 Todays Sayings: Having Fun here and there.

Yesterday Renee and Edward drove down and met us and we went to the OC Fair. Thankfully the weather cooled and we got there around 4pm. My friend Irene from work gave me a coupon that took $4.00 off each ticket if we got there before 4pm and we just made it. We went straight to the animals for Renee. Then we walked around and looked at exhibits. Then we had dinner. We loved the roasted turkey leg and of course we had to get our funnel cake with strawberries.

Today Renee an I went to Once Upon A Timescrapbook store and we were there for 5 hours! We did stop for lunch. We had some quality mother daughter time. She is working on her monthly pg pictures and one of her and Edward sleeping. I got6 pages done. They plan to have a Luau crop at the end of the month and I want to go to that. Afterwards we went to the Joann's Crafts and I got material to make the baby a blanket. I stopped at In and Out Burgers and brought dinner home. Jr and I are going to go in the spa.

August 1, 2007 Todays Sayings: Getting Organized.....again.

I know that several of you said you would go to the beach if you were me. We did start out that way the last day, but the road we were on was congested with people going to the Laguna Art Festival. So we decided not to go after all. We did spend more time at the mall than we planned, but we got some good sales. Jr and I are going there next weekend so I will take pictures and share with you all. I like to go in the winter when it is more peaceful. Yesterday I met Joanie at Kandy Scrappers and we worked on our pages. Welll actually, I searched for paper to do my Lgauna layout like I did online. I found what I liked and cute the pictures. I plan to work on it tomorrow. I want to make a few pages for myself that I had made for Joanie's book. I also want to work on Renee's baby site. I added a picture of Renee to her baby site. It is listed under her thoughts. I am also looking for games on the internet for her shower. She wants lots of games.

July 30, 2007 Todays Sayings: Resting from the getaway.

I had a great time with my friends this past weekend. We stayed in Laguna woods which is next to Laguna Beach. We never did make it to the beach. We spent a lot of time at the Laguna Hills Mall. I came home from work today and went to bed. It is actually after midnight and I thought I would post before going back to bed. I made this page to share. Friends at Laguna Woods

July 24, 2007 Todays Sayings: Going away for the weekend.

My friends and I are going to Laguna Beach for the weekend. Be back Sunday!

July 24, 2007 Todays Sayings: Still thinking about the beach.

My husband made reservations for the Dana Point Harbor Inn. He got a harbor view with an spa bath. So that is just great. We live in Corona and it is about 40 miles from there. We work in Santa Ana, about 30 miles from our home but closer to the beach. So we will head out that way after work. I am excited. I went back to Kohls after work and found 2 paris of petite capris, one denim and one in black. The denim was a size 4 but runs big cause I actually wear a 6. I have Renee to thank for that since I lost weight when I found about her being pg. I was stressing about it for awhile and lost weight and my hair too. I am doing much better now about the whole thing. It was hard for me to accept that my little girl has to grow up so fast now and will miss out on things. But what's done is done and life goes on and now we are excited about our new grandson. I got him another little sleeper today in green, blue and tan. I figure he will have enough blue things. Renee is going through her things in the garage, packing some things and getting rid of other things. Dad is teaching Renee how to make his favorite spaghetti sauce. It sure smells good!

July 23, 2007 Todays Sayings: Thinking about the beach.

I have been searching the net looking for a hotel room by the beach to go to for our anniversary. We go for dinner out at the beach every year, but since it lands on a Friday, we are thinking of spending the night. So far the right price rooms are taken and the over 300 is all that is left. Well I am going back in the spa. I enjoy reading in there. Hugs

July 21, 2007 Todays Sayings: Friends and fun.

I scrapped all week trying to get Joanie's scrap bppk ready in time for her 50th birthday party which was last night. I got most of it done. We plan to get together so we can scrap together. I need to start working on mine. Today Joanie and I went shopping at Kohls. They are having a great sale and she and I got several things. She will be going on vacation in a couple of weeks to Lake Tahoe and now she is all set. I am saving the rest of my vacation for when the baby comes. Happy Birthday cousin!

July 15th, 2007 Todays Sayings:Creating Memories

Our weather is still hot and we have been trying to stay cool. Edward set the crib up on Thursday and luckily there is room for it. On Friday Jr and I enjoyed time in the spa. Saturday I scrapped until Joanie called and asked if I wanted to go to a Quincinera (15) with her. This is a coming out party for hispanic Catholic girls. None of my family did this since we were not Catholic. So I rushed out to get a pedicure, came back showerd and got ready. Joanie picked me up at 5:oo pm and we headed out to Anaheim near Disneyland. It is almost like a wedding with invitations, food, cake and so on. There is a ceremony at church first. There was an Italian buffet and the food was great. I liked the ceremony the best. She had 6 ushers, all her cousins. The danced/marched in and then formed an arch with the flowers they were holding. Then the parents and padrinos(patrons/Godparents) came in. Finally the young girl came in. The boys danced around here. At one point she left and came back wearing a jersey and she through it to her brother. It was like she was one more time to be a tomboy. Then she came back all dressed up. We watched a video of her growing up. Then a chair was brought out and she sat down. Her Godmother came down the isle holding a pair of heals on a pillow which she handed to the mom. Then the father nelt down and the mom handed him the shoes. The father took off the tennis she was wearing and slipped on the heals. Then the father danced a waltz with her. Then he escorted her to the first boy and she danced with each one of them. After the formal waltzes, they left and then they came back and danced to a modern hip hop dance. Then it was open to all. After church today, we had lunch and then we went to Kohls to get Renee some maternity shorts and capris and a top. I picked a cute outfit for the baby that will be from Reina. Well I am off to scrap with Renee. Here are some pictures.

July 10th, 2007 Todays Sayings:Under the weather.

The weather has been humid and I had a headache all day. After work I bought the crib and it is in the garage for now. I came home from work and went to bed to sleep for 3 hours. Yesterday I went to my friends house and we ate around the pool and talked. I love when we do that. Well I am heading back to bed. I will post pictures of the crib after Edward puts it together.

July 7th, 2007 Todays Sayings: Trying to stay cool

It has been very hot this week so I have not done to much. My husband was off work this week but I was not. I worked from 6-12 each day. We went to Andrew and Marina's apartment in Irvine for the 4th. We had dinner, watched National Treasure while we ate and then we all went out to the pool. Andrew and his dad played cards. Renee, Edward, Marina and Daniel played in the pool. I kept throwing a kew into the pool and they had to race to get it. It was nice out there. Jr and I headed home and wathced the fireworks from our deck. The kids went to my brothers to light fireworks. Thursday I went to my friend Pam's house ofr lunch. She goes to my church and also works at a Christian counseling service for pregnant girls. She gave me lots if information and Renee will see her on Monday. Thursday Jr and I watched a movie called Breached, and Friday we cleaned the backyard and then watched the movie Bobby. Both were good movies. Tonight we are going to my cousin Joanie's for dinner and swimming. I am off to scrap now. Have a happy Sunday. Hugs

June 30, 2007 Todays Sayings:

The cute patriotic raggedy is a gift from my friend Judy who I got to visit while I was in Vegas. I keep it by my computer. Last night we went out with our friends Kevin and Kellie for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. The food was great and it was great to visit with our friends. I have been super busy helping Renee clean out here messy teenager room. Now the garage is a mess again. The boys have been helping too and we were able to get a lot done while she was in Cancun. She now will be entering a new phase in her life.......motherhood. Yes my little girl is now 5 moths pregnant and you can find a link on the right. So how do I feel about it? Well I was shocked of course and sad because she is so young and not married. But regardless, our grandson is on the way. So that is why we have to get her room clean. She has been doing laundry, and getting rid of lots of things. The carpet will have to be cleaned at sometime and I would like to paint though she says it does not need it. Finally, she needs to look for a job because the vet let her go because she cannot do the things she was hired to do and since it was tied into work experience with school and school was over, her job was too. I was upset about it, but she says she will be looking this week for another job. There is just so much that has to be considered and as her parents, we will just have to be supportive. Her boyfriend is going to machinist school and working part time, but he is looking for something better too. Are there plans for marriage? There will be no rush to marriage because they are just not ready. On the advise of our Pastor and many other friends, marriage will be postponed. She is covered under our medical as long as she remains unmarried as will the baby, so for now this is the plan. Edward has been going to our church and he and Renee will be getting counseling. So needless to say, I have been busy here. My husband and I have drawn even closer from the experience and we have found that our friends have been very supportive. If you read the June 23 entry, you will understand why the visit from Janice was important. I am so glad my hubby and I got to take our vacation to Vegas. We are planning a trip to Hawaii next if things work out. Well I am off to enjoy my spa. Hugs

June 24, 2007 Todays Sayings: I am blessed by friends.

Me with Judy and her granddaughter Emily.

Judy was so gracious to pick me up on my last day at Vegas and take me to lunch at Maggiano's at the Fashion Mall. We were able to do a little shopping and both liked the same skirt. I wore mine today to church. She also got me a cute Raggedy Ann Doll with a flag which I will post later. Finally she got me Max Lucado's new book called Everyday Deserves a Chance. I read 3 chapters today while in the spa. I am enjoying my quiet time in the spa. I go back to work tomorrow and I know I will be busy. I have been doing laundry today and getting ready to help Renee to redo her room when she come back from vacation. I am off to bed now. Have a great week. Hugs

June 23, 2007 Todays Sayings: Back from Vegas

The Eiffel Tower behding me. I am holding the flowers
my husband got me when he ordered a wine/cheese/fruit service.

Here were are when we went to see Phantom of the Opera.

Can you see the purse that Denise made me?

We had the best time and this vacation wasvery much needed! I plan to put more pictures up at my family site over the next few days. I met a woman named Janice at the aiport as we were boarding and before I know it, I was telling her about Renee. Turns out she is a minister and teacher/counselor. We talked the whole time and she shared a similar experience. She prayed for me as we landed. We walked off together and then seperated. When I turned to look back at her, she was gone. I thought she was an angel sent just for that time and even she referred to our meeting as a divine appointment. What a blessing! Joanie and her husband picked me up and it was good to be home. Friday Joanie and I spent the whole day together. We had a lunch at Fridays, went shopping and then swimming at her pool. Her hubby brought us dinner. After I got home, Jr, Daniel and I sat in the spa and just talked about the great time we had. If all goes ok, our next vacation will be in Hawaii with Joanie and her husband. Well we are going to mu nieces grad party. Happy Sunday!

June 17, 2007 Todays Sayings: Happy Father's Day!

Renee with her boyfriend Edward on the swing.

I finally have a chance to update. The past few days were busy getting ready for Renee's graduation party. It turned out well and my house is clean. Today we all went to church and then out to lunch. Renee is at work and then when she comes home we will do the last of the shopping we need to do for our trips. Today was also wash day. I just washed whites and opened the dryer and found blue ink all over. Hubby is over there cleaning it. I hung up all my things and they are outside in the sun and then I will have to iron them. It is going to be over a 100 each day in Vegas and I am packing lots of cool clothes. I am so looking forward to this vacation. Renee will be in Cancun for 7 days and though the weather is not as hot, it will be humid. If there is an internet at the hotel, I may blog. Well I need to go and pack. Have a great week. Hugs

June 14, 2007 Todays Sayings: Happy Graduation Renee!

Renee with my husband and my parents.

June 9, 2007 Todays Sayings: Family and Friends

My sister Terry is coming over and my cousin Joanie. It is a little belated graudation celebration for Terry since Joanie was sick and could not make it. Terry and Joanie were in my wedding. Terry and I have always been close. We raised our babies together and lived a block a part. In 1990 we moved to Corona and Terry and her then husband were suppose to move to and it did not work out. Later they moved to Temecula. I was lonely, I missed my sister. Joanie had also moved to Corona in 1990 and we hooked up in 1992.
Susan tagged me and asked me to share this:

Mention seven strange facts about you:
1. I have ADD
2. I have a degree in the bio/social field and
I work at the Post Office
3. I would rather read than watch tv.

June 7, 2007 Todays Sayings: Seasons are changing.

The weather has been nice lately amd I went for a walk on Monday during my break and I saw this:

stork picture lost?

I went back to my office and grabbed my camera and took this picture from across the street on the zoom. This beautiful bird in a man made lake in the city. I am not sure what it is called, but I call it a stork. I was going to cross the street but then it flew away. I felt like God was reminding me how unique nature is and there is so much beauty in it. That evening, I put on music and worked on Renee's photo collage for her graduation. It was nice to get it done and I enjoyed the pictures of my little girl growing up.

I have been busy getting the house ready for company this weekend and the party next weekend. Andrew and Marina are spending Sat night and so I have to pick up my scrap/guest room. I was really busy with the remodel during the winter and I missed a lot of Bible study, but I started going back last week. The message was great for me this week and refreshed my soul. God is showing me things and I have peace. I will be busy so my computer time will be scare. Have a great weekend. Hugs

June 2, 2007 Todays Sayings: Relaxing!

I got to sleep in today until 10am. I put on my swim suit and decided today was just a relax day. Well not totally relax. After sitting in the spa for awhile, I watered the plants and hung a few more windchimes. Then I sat down to read for awhile. Now it is time to play on the copmputer. I have been busy working on a photo collage of Renee and I have all the pictures in place. Now they all have to be set with the adhesives strips. I plan to do that later.

May 28, 2007 Todays Sayings: Happy Memorial Day!

Saturday we hung a hummingbord feeder and te little guy was there in the monring. After church we went to my brother's house and had a real nice time out on the patio. Ater we ate we played remember when and what is your favorite.... I learned something about my mom, she went to a Catholic school when she was little. She told us how her godparents(padrinos) had a little coner market and how she was organizing the shelves. Everyone said what they liked that someone else made. Jr siad my tacos and Dad said mom's tacos though I know she has not made them in a long time. My parents are moving to Temecula. Both my sisters live there so I think it will be good for them. It was nice and when I got home I went in the spa and the little hummingbird was there again. I am sure he will be back again. Today I am working on a photo collage for Renee. We also have to work on her grad annoucements. I better get going. Have a nice day! Hugs

May 26, 2007 Todays Sayings: Relaxing!

I am so looking forward to 3 days off. I need the rest. Thursday I took Renee shopping for her Senior Dinner Dance. We also took pictures with her cap n gown. While we were shopping, she also got a few summer clothes for her trip to Cancun. Last week I bought myself a shirt and capris that I will take. I still need to take Renee for some more things so that would be on Monday. Tomorrow we are going to my brother's )(Samuel)house to celebrate his 46th birthday and his son who was born on the same day. I call my brother Scott and I call his son Scotty though they are both Sam. Scott is their middle name. I plan to scrap today and get a pedicure. Andrew and Marina just came over. She is getting her hair done and Andrew brought breaksfast. OK, breakfast was good. Well I am going to sit with the family while we are all here. Have a great day! Hugs

May 23, 2007 Todays Sayings:
Congratulations to Jordin Spark, American Idol winner!

May 22, 2007 Todays Sayings: Still organizing

Renee had a garage sale on Saturday and made $300. So today we packed up the rest and the Salvation Army will be by to collect the stuff. Then we rearranged some things in there and there is room to exercise or park a car. I spent some time organizing in my scrap room and got more done, but no scrapping. Yesterday I got to spend an hour in the spa and slept great after watching Dances with the Stars and The Bachelor. Andy chose Tessa, the girl I wanted him to pick almost from the beginning. Well I need to go and watch American Idol. I will be glad when the shows are done for the season so I can have more free time. I did spend time working on my Bible Study and more time in prayer. There is a little girl named Maggie that Darylynn told us about that has cancer. My friend Robyn lost her mom suddenly and my friend Judy's mom is sick. So prayer is important because I know God hears them. He may not answer the way we want, but He is in control, even when He takes a love one home. Have a blessed day. Hugs

May 20, 2007 Todays Sayings: A time to pick up!

Terry's graduation went well and I posted a link to the left. It felt great to sleep in this morning and church was good. I was talking to my friend Olivia about Israel. Pastor Jim mentioned a future trip in the summer of 2008 and we are interested. It would be around $2000 a person round trip. Olivia said it cost about that much when they went 20 years ago. So we will see what will happen. Meacnwhile I plan to scrap and try to exercsie.

~Summer Vacation 2007~ By the way...
Do you have any plans for a summer vacation this year?
My husband and I are going to Las Vegas with my son and nephew.
Will you spend more time in the lawnchair outside
or in the air conditioning inside? Both but since we just
remodeled our backyard, I am sure we will be out there more. What's your favorite cool treat? Frozen grapes. What's your favorite summer activity? Vacation!

May 18, 2007 Todays Sayings: A time for completions.....

It was a long week for me. My neck hurt fow a few days and I finally feel better now. I did get a few scrap pages finished. My order from the Scrap Oasis came in and I picked it up on Thursday. Tomorrow my younger sister graduates with honors from Cal State Fullerton with a Masters. I am so proud of her! We will leave in the morning to see her graduate and then go to lunch. I looked several times for a card but did not find one so I will be making one for her tonight. We emptied out the spa on Wed. cleaned it yesterday and filled it back up so I was able to really relax in it after work while reading. Finally, I was really sad to see how Grey's Anantomy ended. I think the actress who plays Dr Yang did great at the end. Well we just have to wait and see. I better get busy making my card and getting my clothes ready for tomorrow. Have a nice weekend. Hugs

May 14, 2007 Todays Sayings: More projects to do....

I had a very nice Mother's Day on Sunday. After church we went to Miguels for lunch and I had a Cesar salad with grilled shrimp. Marina went with her parents to eat Chinese and came over later. We all go to the same church so Andrew and Marina sat with Marina's family. Andrew came over and helped Daniel move things around for me and now my living room is back in order and my scrap/guest room is all set. Today I picked up a few scrap things at Joann's and used my coupon. Then this evening I had to go back to another Joanns with Renee so she could get material, pattern and notions for her sewing class. She is going to make a bag. I am so glad she is taking sewing. I was sharing with her how when I was first married and going to school, finances were tight and I sewed many of my tops to go with my jeans. I also made baby blankets for my friends and my babies. She did thank me and then asked me to make her hard boiled eggs. She started them and I will take them out now. Hugs

May 12, 2007 Todays Sayings: Time to move on....

My son and daughter in law moved out today to their new apartment in Irvine. Ny husband and I gave them a patio set and 2 barstools. I now have a scrapping room again. I got my stuff moved in and now to orgaanize. I need to find the full size sheets and wash them and make up the bed. It was a busy day and tomorrow is Mother's Day! So to all of you mom's, I wish you a very happy day. God bless you. Hugs

May 10, 2007 Todays Sayings: Cooler weather, feeling better!

I feel much better today. But I have noticed I have been more "touchy" lately. A commercial was on tv about menopause and my husband and son both stopped talking to listen. The commercial talked about what a woman can go through. If men only new about our crazy hormones. I just finished watching Grey's Anatomy and it was good and next week will be better. I felt bad for Estelle, the cheif's wife because she found out she was pregnant at 52 and then she ends up pasted out bleeding on the bathroom floor. For a minutes it made me flashback to my miscarriage. I had 3 and the combined feelings of loss came back again. Someday I will see my 3 children in heaven and that gives me solace. Andrew and Maria have been packing up our SUV and this is move out week. We all go to the same church so I will see them at least once a week. We have another bad fire in SO CA. Catalina Island is on fire and that are evacuatintg. I guess I will know more tomorrow. Hugs

May 9, 2007 Todays Sayings: It is still HOT outside!

I must have some bug because my stomach has been hurting the past few days. I my head hurt too so I left work early. It was cold in the office and it felt to be outside. I got some medicine and then stopped at Michaels. By now I was hungry and shaky so I got some brown rice from Pick up Stix. When I got home I slept for 2 hours. I have been scrapping and thinking about my past trip to Hawaii. My husband and I have talked of going there with my cousin and her husband. But Sunday, Pastor Jim talked about him leading a group on a tour of Israel and that sounds very ineresting. The fire was put out yesterday in our area, but the Griffith Park area is burned badly. I wonder if Darylynn's husband worked it. I hope this heat waves breaks soon. Bye for now.

May 7, 2007 Todays Sayings: It is HOT outside!

The bottom pictures shows the firetrucks driving
in next to the divider. We counted around 8
at that point. The Green River Exit is ours.

It's 4pm and 94 outside. It took awhile to get home since there is a fire around 4 miles from our house by the freeway. It is burning at Featherly Park in the Santa Ana Canon. Luckily it is not to windy or it could get worse and close the freeway. There were lots of firetrucks on the way from both directions. As bad it it is, It was worse for the Tornado vicitms in Kansas. I am glad you are safe Tammy!

May 5, 2007 Todays Sayings: Happy Cinco de Mayo
and National Scrapbooking Day!

We don't really celelbrate this for the reason it is celebrated. You can read the reason why Here. But as Darylynn said, it is a cringo celebration, kind of like St Patrciks Day. As I mentioned it is National Scrapbooking Day and I plan to go to at least one place since all their stuff is 20% off today. Well I better get some housework done so I can go. We are having my brother in law and his wife over for dinner. They want to see what we have done. I leave you with my Meez girl.

I got the meez link from Darylynn and it was fun making me.
This will be me in June when we go to Las Vegas. We will
be staying at the Paris Hotel and watching Phantom of the Opera.
Maybe I need to make me all dressed up! What do you think?

May 3, 2007 Todays Sayings: Gone on a scrap hunt.

Today I found a new scrap store in Irvine and since I had to pick up my son, I decided to check it out. I pulled the directions and got close then got lost in the maze of the business park. I found the address but not the store and then circled around and went back. There were so many suites and this one was opposite the street. The place is called the Scapbook Oasis and they had lots of things I had not seen. Then I found this one paper I just love and that was the only one they had. So I have been to their site and contacted the owner and she is looking for online places I can order it. Okay like I did not have enough stuff already. I go out of my way to get paper when it is on sale and then go the complete opposite and spend way to much for what I got today. I guess it balances out. This is were my perfectionsin kicks in. I am counting the days for Andrew and Marina to move out to get my scrap book room back. My whole dining room is overcome by scrap stuff. Well speaking of such I need to get over there and try to make some order of it. Bye for now. Hugs

May 2, 2007 Todays Sayings: Going on a copying craze.

The weather has been nice the past couple of days. It is cloudy and cool in the morning and I have been able to walk during my break. I got to go in the spa today and I sure needed it as my neck had been hurting all day. I have spent the last 3 days making copies of pictures for scrapping. I sure enjoy the pictures of the kids when they were little. I was at 2 different places getting scrap paper too. Michaels is redoing their whole scap section and it has a whole lot more. My whole dining table is covered with paper and pictures. So my time is limited here on the computer for now. Renee's young man told her he has a nice time here. I am glad we got to know him better. It seems so much harder when it is your only daughter, the baby of the family growing up. So my continued job is to keep praying for all my kids, family and friends! Hugs

April 29, 2007 Todays Sayings: Getting ready for the Prom...

Marina doing Renee's makeup. Marina made around $200 doing
the makeup for girls going to prom. They all got lashes too.

Ok, the final touches are done and Renee is happy!

We took several pictures outside and I liked this one the best.
Notice the sneakers? The boy across the street had black and
white sneakers with his black tux. It's the cool thing here.

Yesterday things were real busy but today was much calmer. I got to relax in the hot spa last night but did not sleep well until I new Renee was home safe. Renee and Edward made it to church and then her dad and I took Renee and Edward to Islands for lunch and talked about the prom. We got to know Edward a little more this weekend and he is a nice guy. He would like to be a chef so that was a plus for my husband who likes to cook. As a mom, I am protective of my kids. But I can't control them and Renee is 18 now and has to make certain choices for her own life. She wants to work with animals and will go full time this summer. Ok, now that I forked out all this money for the Prom, we need to plan for the grad party which will be a Father's Day celebration too. I am still working on album picture transfers. Looking at my boys when they were little brings back great memories. We had to laugh at the ones where Daniel is "mowing" the lawn with his mower following his dad as he mows. Well I need to get back to the album so have a gret week! Hugs

April 28, 2007 Todays Sayings: Getting ready for the Prom...

I wish I could show pictures, but Renee has my camera. Hers is broke. I think I will get my self a new one and let her have this one. I want the same kind, a Cannon. Renee looked beautiful and I can hardly believe my baby looked so grown up. I was suppose to go to a wedding today for a daughter of a friend. But I did not want to be stressed by driving there and having to race back. Turns out I end up needing to do a few things for Renee. Marina did her makeup and several of Renee's friends too. I will post pictures tomorrow. After Renee left with Edward her date, we went out to dinner. Then Andrew and I worked in the garage. They move out in 2 weeks and he was moving his things to the front of the garage. After that I went in the spa and it felt great!
Yesterday I found a new scrap book store that was just filled with things. I end up going back this morning and got a few things that I was going to order online and foung them cheaper in the store! So I can get more organized. I need to get my Bible study done so I better go now. Hugs

April 26, 2007 Todays Sayings: Catching up on things.

I got to sleep in today until 9am. That gave me 10 hours of much needed sleep. I have a few things to do before I take my daughter to her Dr appointment. Rather she will take me. I have scrap stuff all over my table and I need to work on that. Last night we all watched American Idol and I just hated the way they announced the end with us thinking Jordin going home. Well I need to get going. Hugs

April 25, 2007 Todays Sayings: Mind racing, body tired.

Since I could not work on my site while it was being moved to a new server, I worked on my pictures. I have scrap stuff all over my table again. It will only be for a couple of weeks until Andrew and Marina move. I feel a bit overwhelmed already, and then I just got some news that will be a thorn in my side. It is too long to explain but it concerns my job status at work. I need to talk to my manager and be positive. Luckily I am off tomorrow to take Renee to the Dr's and I can sleep in. It is hard to deal with things when you are tired. I always feel like this with AF. Did I mention it came back after 3 months??? I did watch American Idol last night and I really like Jordan and Melinda. Both sang great songs. I plan to watch it tonight and just relax. My mouse is messed up because the copy and paste is not working well. I am going to go sit ourside and read for awhile to relax. Enjoy the week.

April 22, 2007 Todays Sayings: Happy Earth Day

I am thankful for the rain to water all our new plants and now green grass. The weather has been cool and I have been inside busy working on my pictures. Saturday I met my cousin Joanie at the scrap store. I had pictures all spread out of Renee when she was a baby. I was choosing paper and decorations to work on her baby book. Joanie was finishing a page for Olivia's scrapbook. After I went to the spa place to get some things and get a water check. They said it looked great so I guess we are doing ok. Then I went shopping for a few more things and I came home with another purse. When I got home we got ready to go out to dinner. Since Renee and Marina were in LA, we went out to the Corona Zip Fusionfor sushi. I had the Califonia rolls and vegtable tempura. Daniel had the Las Vegas rolls and spicy calamari. Andrew had a Lobster roll. Jr got Miso soup and a rib plate. We all shared and we ate with chopstix.
Today we went to church and we are studying Revelation, the last book of the Bible. Now to talk about more changes.... Andrew and Marina are moving out in 3 weeks. Since the housing market has slowed, they have decided to wait on the house hunting and move closer to their jobs in Orange Country in Irvine. They will not have to pay storage fees and high gas prices and they got a move in special. I will get my craft/guest room and can really scrap, that is when I am not in the spa! Time for me to work on my pictures. Have a great week! Hugs

April 20, 2007 Todays Sayings:Weather Changes and more.

In one day we went from nice and sunny to cold, wet and windy. In sptie of it, my husband and I still decided to get in the spa after work today. Renia followed us out and sat on the top step. We covered her with the towel and she still was shivering. We kept telling her to go inside. She finally did. We were warm since the spa was a nice 100. When it started raining harder, we went in. I am happy to be working here tonight as my site had been down a couple of days. Our server was attacked by a hacker from Turkey. Jana my host for Love4Country did a great job keeping us informed of the situation and her quick action got is back quickly. Luckily our sites had been backed up a few days ago so I only lost a few days of things which I had saved. SO since I had the time I worked on my scrapbooks and got a lot done. I have more to do so I am going to go now. Here are a few pictures.

Enjoying the rain in rainy CA. 55 degrees outside.

I saw these long hair doxies and had to take a picture while I was driving.

Here I am trying to work on my pictures and Reina wants loving.

April 18, 2007 Todays Sayings:Enjoying the spring day.

The weather has been really nice the past few days and I have been enjoying the spa. My hubby got this one of me. I have to wear my hair up when I am in the spa. When not in the spa.... I have been working on my pictures. I have so many of them to move from the old photo albums to new ones. Luckily for me, I found them clearanced at Joann's Crafts. They were $14.99 and were marked down to $3.97. Scrapbooking albums are more popular now and these are the standard in the slot kind, but these are photo safe. Renee enjoyed a quiet day at home for her 18th birthday. We had dinner with the food she requested, chimichangas(fried burritos). Then we watched Charlotte's Web, the movie we gave her on Sunday. On Monday we gave her a ring with 3 little diamonds set in a heart shape. She really liked that. Marina will be taking her to Hollywood this weekend for a girls get away. They will be staying at the Roosevelt Hotel. They plan to see the Stars Walk of Fame. They leave Saturday and come backSunday. Here is a picture of me in the spa that my hubby took. I can do leg lifts in there. I should get some hand weight to use in there too! Well I need to do a few things before I go to Bible study. Oh I changed my layout so you might need to reload the page to see the new graphics. Hugs

April 15, 2007 Todays Sayings: Happy Birthday

Friday we celebrated my friends Olivia's 50th birthday. She thought it was just our small group getting together and turns out it was a surprise party. Saturday I went to a baby shower for a friend at church who just adopted a baby girl. She and her husband got to be in the room when the baby was born. After that we met at a place to celebrate my MIL's birtday which is actually today. She turns 70 today. Today is also Pastor JIm's birthday and tomorrow is Renee's. Renee is suppose to have a few of her friends over today. Tomorrow is her actual birthday and she turns 18. My husband and I took the day off. We are going to take flowers and balloons to school. She is scheduled to work but may get out of it. So we will see what we will be doing. I have been getting my pictures in order. They are in old scrapbooks and I am getting tranferred to better albums. As usual, so much to do, so little time.

I am blessed!

Easter was great and you can see pictures by tapping the link to your right saying Easter 07. I am off to relax in the spa. Then I will be watching Dancing with the Starts and The Bachelor.

April 7, 2007 Todays Sayings:

Easter is tomorrow and we are having my whole family over for Easter dinner. Originally the weather was going to be around 80 so we planned a bbq. Now it will be around 67-69, cloudy and cool. Hubby is in the backyard now doing a final clean up. I am taking a break from house cleaning. Renee and I went shopping earlier but neither of us found anything special to wear so with the weather being what it is, we are going to wear pants. We can dress casual at church, but I do like to dress up a little sometimes. I did pick up a few things to make Easter baskets after all. Small ones since Renee protested against not having them. She is my baby going on 18 so I relented and got just a few things. Well I need to go. Have a blessed day and remember that Jesus is the Reason for all Seasons... HugsM

April 4, 2007 Todays Sayings: rollercoaster moods!

Well the last few months of remodeling have been stressful for me. The body reacts to stress whether it comes from a negative or positive reason. When I am stressed, I eat more carbs and I have gained weight in the middle. I am only 5 feet so 5 pounds is a lot for me. I was really pms this past few weeks and I think I ate everything! So I am feeling a little down at the moment. So I will have my little pitty party and then get over it. Starting Monday, I plan to go low carb. Why wait??? Well my whole family is coming over for Easter and there are things I need to get done and I know I can't start anything until after then. I did a lot during the remodel and the only thing firm are my arms. Well I just came in from working out in the backyard. Now I am munching on dark grapes. I am waiting for American Idol to show the results.

April 1, 2007 Todays Sayings:Happy Sunday!

March 30, 2007 Todays Sayings:I got my Surival Kit.

Yesterday I got this kit I had ordered about menopause from menopauserx.com. I got it the day I got my period after not having one since Dec. I was really hoping they were gone for good, but so goes it. Looking back over the past week. I can see where I have been eating more carbs, sweets and a whole chocolate bar one day. At least it was dark chocolate. Normally I would get really bad cramps and a bad headache, but not this time, just weight gain. Maybe that is why the hot flashes have really slowed down. I thought it was the black kohash. I have been drining soy milk too. Ok, so much for this 51 year old in transition. The weather has been nice and will be in the 80's for several days. I plan to plant a few roses and sit on my swing and read. Next weekend will be busy so this weekend will be a time to relax. I finshed reading my Friday Night Knitting Club book. I heard it will be made into a movie with Julia Roberts. You can read about the book Here and Here. I have another knitting book to read after I work on my Bible study. So I will take my reading outside and enjoy the weather. I am off to bed now. Have a great weekend. Hugs

March 27, 2007 Todays Sayings: Blinkie byDarylynn

Tonight is Ameican Idol and I have a meeting to go to at church. My sinuses have been driving me crazy. I take medicine but it makes me sleepy. Then this crazy weather has not helped. We had cold, wind, rain, and sun and more wind today. It will warm up though and I am looking forward to that. My allergies seem to be worse as I get older. I have used Avon products for years. I bought the newest stuff for women 45+ and I must be allergic to the fragrance and my nose just closes up and my throat feels scratchy. My friend Kelli works for a dermatologist and he recommends Aveeno. I have been using the mositurizer with no problems. So I bought more products today. A girl has to do what she has to do to take care of herself!

as you can see, I just love to use the cute mood girls from and speaking of such, look at this new one Saide sent me. You know I will be using that one a lot!

Today was pretty good for a Monday. After work I had lunch at Aa japanese place. I even ate with chopsticks. I enjoyed the 2 Calfornia rolls, the best. Then I spent about an hour looking at books for a future study. So many books, so little time.
When we got home, I watered the plants and covered up some things before the rain comes in. Daniel made manicotti, salad and rolls for dinner. Then after mopping, I went in the spa for awhile and did some legs exercises.
I really did like how Apolo Anton danced with such style and great moves. Well I thought Leeza Gibbons did better tonight and she looks great for her 50th birthday. I think Billy Ray did better but, but he is not my favorite. Heather did great but I really like Laila's moves.Well I applaude all of them.
I am having a snack of oatmeal with soymilk, strawberries and bananas.I am trying to eat better, but I blow it on the weekend. I am off to bed to read for awhile. Hugs

March 25, 2007 Todays Sayings:

Today one of my dear friends turns 50! She is very private and we respect that. Not to long ago, some of us were talking about how we were all in our 30's when the church started. Now there is just one left out of 5 of us that is not 50 and that is Joanie and she will be 50 in August. We all agree that though our bodies have changed with age, our minds still feel young. Just read my homework pages and see what kind of fun things I have done with my friends. I remember once we were staying at a bain home in Bid Bear and someone mentioned that Oscar De La Jolla lived nearby. Well being the crazy women we were/are.... we drove by his house and he was outside in the yard watering his yard. He waved high and we all laughred like young school girls. It was so much fun to act silly. Life is too short not to have fun. We all love the Lord and are blessed to have our special friendship. I am double blessed to have many online friends too. Speaking of that, I added a new page and it listed on the right. Have a great week! Hugs

I got to sleep in this morning until 9pm and it was great! I scanned a few pictures for a new page I am doing and plan to post it soon. I went to Costcos and picked up some fresh fruit and coffee. Then I stopped at 2 Wal-Mart's. I was on the hunt for some chairs to go with my outside table. I stopped at Joanie's for lunch and then I was off to another Wal-Mart. I end up getting 6 chairs total and I think I am all set for the parties we will be hosting this summer. I did get a new rose called Double Delight. After I planted that I spent an hour in the spa relaxing. I guess we can live with the lift on the spa. Later we watched a movie called The Other Sister with Diane Keaton. It is about a rich couple in San Francisco and the youngest daughter is retarded. It was a good heartfelt movie. I did not get anything done around the house as far as cleaning, so I plan to get laundry done tomorrow. Happy Sunday! 1. Favorite Spring Blossom?:Orange 2. Favorite Spring Chore?:Planting flowers 3. March 23, 2007 Todays Sayings:

It was a long busy week for me and I am so glad it is Friday. We got our taxes done and we are getting some moeny back. That will be for vacation. Today I got the smaller patio table from Lowes and umbrella stand. We plan to have Renee's graduation party here so we will be set. They delivered the spa cover lift and I don't really like it. When the cover is opened it stays upright and bloks the vew of the palms behind us. But they main reason we got the spa was because of our bad backs, and neck and so that cover lift will help. It will give us some privacy too. Oh well, it should be warm enough to get in tomorrow. Tonight we saw Black Diamond with Leonardo Di Caprio. It was an interesting but sad movie about how the African people are exploited and how they turn against themselves all in the name of diamonds. I learned some new things and I guess I am glad that diamonds though lovely are not something I have to have. I'd prpbably choose something practical over a diamond, like remodeling my house! Well I am off to bed. Renina is sitting on my lap waiting for us to go to bed. Thank you God for keeping her safe from the harm of bad food. I hope they find the person responsible for putting rat poison in the pet foods. Have a nice weekend. Check out my visual DNA to the right. Hugs

March 20, 2007

I just finished watching the new and my heart goes out to all the little dog and cats that are sick of dying because of the bad dog food. Daniel works at the market and said they were busy taking lots of cans/foil packs of food. Renee said they lost 1 dog for sure from bad food and had 7 being treated. I don't know how she can stand to be there when they have to put a dog down, but she knows they do what is best for the animal. I am glad she has a heart for animals. We were all at the dinner discussing this and I had to ask them to change the topic. I said "so Renee, what subject are you flunkig out on this semester?" That got the whole table laughig. It makes me happy to have my whole family together. I enjoyed American Idol, even Sanjaya. I voted for Jordan because I think she is my overall favorite. As you can see from my weather mini, we have had all sorts of weather today. My hubby and I covered all the new stools and lamps in the yard. We have to drain the spa tomorrow. They are coming on Friday to install a cover lift. They also have to replace the back panel that got cracked when it was delivered. This will give my hubby a chance to get the balance corrected with the water. The sun will be back this weekend and then we can get in the spa again. It really helps my sore muscles. Well I am off to bed. Pray for the little animals. Hugs

A gift from Sylv iaThank you!

Yesterday we hosted Marina's birthday party. We got everything done around the house. Daniel and Jr cooked tons of carne asada and I made a salad. Marina's mom brought rice and beans. We had chips, dip and salsa. We had a non alcohlic bar serving regular and strawberry margaritas. The spa was on with the little water fall affect, but we did not have it open for guest. Just too many people and a few little kids. My sister came down after attending a conference at Cal State Fullerton. All of Andrew and Marina's friends played Catch Phrase in the living room. I snuck outto the spa. It was so nice to be in the dark, sit in the spa, look up at the stars and just thank God for all my blessings.

Todays Sayings:More things getting done.

Our granite got installed yesterday along with the new faucet and basin. We had some plumbing problems and David came real late to fix it. I am grateful he could come because we had no water in the house. We had dinner outside and then we girls tried out the spa. We were trying to figure out the settings. I got stuff to make sandwiches for dinner and we are eating out since we still have summer weather. I got an outside storage bench for spa supplies and we set up a device to hang our towels. Marina and eye painted the gate facing the street and she and Andrew are paitning their bathroom(downstairs guest bathroom) as I write. I will buy a new shower curtain and towels tomorrow. Then back to the inside with touch up painting.

Todays Sayings:The spa is running!

My brother and his son came down today to do the electrical. They ran the 220 for the spa and they added light that are controlled with a switch. Daniel strung white mini lights and Jr. and Daniel put together the outside 3light outside bistro lights. Marina painted the table white. Everything looks so nice. Now we just have to wait for the water to heat up. Hopefully we can try it out tomorrow. The weather was in the 90's today and it will be hot all week. The outside is done and I can get back to my neglected house. I bought a Swifter floor cleaner and I love it for that quick spot clean up. Have a great week! Hugs

Todays Sayings:Our spa is here!

They delivered the spa today. It was not easy for the delivery guys since the concrete has brick bordering. Then they tried to go under the deck but it would not fit, so everyone rushed to move things and have it go around the deck. My brother is coming over Sunday to do the elecrtrical. We went to Costcos today to get some food for a bbq for tomorrow. We looked at a few other things and then headed over to Home Depot. We got several things there that we needed. They did not have the outdoor carpet we needed so we will get it later. We went to Wal-Mart across the street and got a few more things. Then we came home and planted and cleaned in the dark with one light. We got an 1/2 oak barrel and Daniel will plant the few veggies he got. We all showered and then just relaxed in the tv room, me here on the computer. Well I will leave you with the

Todays Sayings:Things are getting done!

Wednesday my husband and I painted the fence. Thursday I graded the area and pulled out fiberous roots from the previous plants. I was so tired yesterday that after I showered, I layed done for a "rest" and did not wake up so I missed American Idol and Grey's Anatomy. I felt much better today. Today Daniel and I planted the palms and jasmine in pots and then placed them on stones. It is looking so nice and new. Tomorrow we are going to cover the rest of the area with decorative bark. While we were out there, we talked about my grandpa David who was a gardner. His clients were all in the rich area of Santa Ana, OC and they just loved his landscape design. I would go with him in the summers and I enjoyed being outside and helping him. Both sets of granparents had gardens filled with fruits and veggies. I can still taste the sweet peaches, apricots and tomatoes. This Saturday they deliver the spa and Sunday my brother and his son will do the electrical. We plan to spend lots of time in the yard this summer. With the price of gas, we won't be driving around much. It was $3.07 at the place by our house. I know our elecrical bill will go up with the spa, but it will be worth it. Daniel is talking of making a small garden with tomatoes, chillis and cilantro, all for his special salsa! Well that is another project. I need to add another adoption to my shop from LilySkys and then I am going to soak in a hot tub. After all, tomorrow is another busy day! Hugs

Todays Sayings:Things are getting green!

I made another trip to Home Depot to get the rest of the palm trees and pink jasmine. They will be going along the fence on the side of the house. Oh I bought paint to paint the fence too. The neighbor replaced some of the fence and so we need to paint. I consider all this outside work exersise. I still have to be careful with my shoulder and back. I remember to hold my stomach in and bend correctly. Then I take a hot bath to relax but today I took a shower. It was hot today, in the loe 80's. This way we can sleep in and still make it to church on time. After church we had lunch and then we went to Lowes for more garden things. Todays Sayings: Enjoying life and warmer weather!

We emjoyed dinner and a concert yesterday. We heard Marck Shculz and Big Daddy Weave. You can see a couple of pictures at Concert Libnk below. It felt great to sleep in this morning. After breakfast, I went to my hair apporintment. Had a color and trim after deciding to let my hair grow out a little. Then I headed to Wal-Mart to get some sweet alyssum for my plasters. While there I found a dwarf lemon tree with buds on it. Lowes came with the delivery of our furniture and the guys arranged it all. I planted something and will finish tomorrow. Yes it was windy as you can see in the picture below. My uv sun hat kept my hair out of my face too. I hope to take more pictures tomorrow after I finish the rest of my planting. After a relaxing bath, I went to the hospital to visit my cousin Joanie who had a hystectomy. We plan to scrap while she if off work recovering. Well I am off to knit for awhile. Happy Sunday. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Things are still getting done!

I walked a mile at work today on my breaks. 2 times around the perimeter does it. I am going to try to do that everyday. While working, I enjoyed the soundtrack from Phantom of the Opera. There is just something from that music that I enjoy. I am really looking forward to seeing it in June at the Venetian in Las Vegas. After work I stopped at trader Joes and got some goodies. Then I read in the car while waiting for Jr. Yersterday I went to the 99 cents store and found lots of yarn for 99 cents that is normally $5.99. I made brown friend rice with chicken and broccoli today for dinner and the family all liked it. I got the dishes done and then stopped to see American Idol. I can't believe they kept Sanjawa and let AJ go. I am glad they let Alaina and Leslie off. But again, the voters decide. Grey's is a rerun so I am going to bed early. Here is the rest of the family Andrew, Marina, Daniel and Renee.

Todays Sayings: Still organizing and feeling better!

I went back to work on Monday and I sure was busy! I like to be busy because the time goes by quickly. I did make time to take a break and walk the perimeter of the building which is probably 1/2 mile. I need to get a hat so I can walk outside when the weather changes. I cleaned out 3 drawers in my bedroom yesterday. I got dividing trays to organize them and through out a lot of little stuff that just accumulates. I was in bed by 9 because I was so tired. I helped my husband out in the backyard for awhile. I also took pictures and zipped them to my brother. He will be doing the electrical for our spa which needs a direct 220 outlet. He is going for some light on the deck post so they can see when they bbq at night. Marina's birthday is March 18 th and we hope to have the back all done for her birthday. I created a picture for my husband to go along with mine. Bye for now. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Feeling much better and out shopping.

See my picture above that I created? I found this place through Darylynn's place today. I had fun putting her togehter. My husband and son even got involved. I plan to make more. We were suppose to go to the movies today to see Amazing Grace. But we went to look at Spas and after 2 hours, we chose one at Cal Spas. My husband wanted a bbq also since our Weber is 21 years old and not working all that well. We went to Lowes afterwards and got several things. The bbq, a table, umbrella and chairs, fire ring and a swing! This is the final thing to finish our home improvement. Well we need to still tackle the garage, but that will wait until the weather has cooled down. We have to get the backyard ready for all the stuff. Lowes will deliver next week and the spa should come in a couple of weeks. Luckily my brother is an electrician and VP at his electrical place and my son Andrew works there too. Darylynn, it is the exit before the vet place you were going too. The weather will be nice tomorrow so we will all be out there enjoying some warm weather before it changes again. I am so glad to be getting this spa. We had one at our previous home and it did wonders for our bad necks and back. We are really blessed to be able to do all these things. Well I need to get ready for tomorrow. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Fighting a cold but doing ok.

I finally went to the Dr. today and I have "viral infection" that is moving fast and hitting hard in some people. First it was my son, then me, then my husband, son and now my daughter. Seems like the younger ones just keep going. I also have been having shoulder pain and the Dr put me on a new anti-inflammatory called Relafin. All my blood test came back ok, cholesterol is under 200 which is good for me. The Dr has me going back to work on Mon. I have lots of sick leave since I have been with the USPS for 32 years. I use to work through it, but I am older and have to take care of myself and I sure don't want anyone else to get what I have. It is cold and rainy this evening so we are going to turn on the fireplace and watch AI and Grey's Anatomy. My friend Tammy is helping me with WP and FTP and stuff so I will work on that tomorrow. I need to take a break and take some Tylenol Sinus. Have a good evening.

February 19 2007
Todays Sayings: Enjoying my holiday.

Yetserday I slept in since I had been kept up with a cough and the nightly hot flashes. My parents came over and we all went out for lunch and I had hot soup. My parents and Andrew and Marina went to look at houses. My parents are agents, my dad is a broker and my mom has been selling homes for 25 years. It was really nice to see my parents. I am blessed to still have them. Marina went with her mom and sisteres to see I Told You So. Jr., Andrew and I watched Phanto m of the Opera. We want to see the Opera when we are in Las Vegas this June. It is showing at the Venetian and we are staying next door at Paris. We plan on going the same time Renee is in Cancun for her graduation. I got my china hutch all cleaned out and everything back in. Things are coming together. I just finished doing a study on Bathsheba and I learned a lot. I am also reading about healthful living. I stayed up late watching medical stuff on the Discovery channel. Too much cold medicine kept me up and luckily I could sleep in today. I went to Michael's today with my 50% coupon and got another small chest. Jr is using it for a small file box. I am going to use mine for scrapping stuff. Bye for now. Hugs

February 17 2007
Todays Sayings: A little under the weather and resting.

I am a Grey's Anatomy fan and did not like that she died in the last episode, or so we think. We will see, but you know they can do anything on tv. Friday we watched Flyboys on DVD and it was a very good movie about WW1 US men flying for France. Toward the end of the movie, I felt like I was coming down with a cold. You know, stuffy, throat feeling weird. Not the itchy painful type, more the swollen type with lots of swallowing. I slept in and the went to get my blood drawn. As soon as I came out, I ate a banana since it had been 15 hours since last eating. My Dr. is checking me for diabets, high cholesterol, anemia, thyroid and whatever else. They took 4 viles of blood so they should have enough to test for everything! I came home and had lunch and then slept for 2 more hours with Reina. Poor Reina had a tummy ache and threw up 5 times. We are keeping an eye on her. We gave her rice with water to see how she does and so far, ok. Back To Greys. I love medical shows and see House too. When I was in Jr High and High, I wanted to go into the medical field. But because of being bad in math and the fear of failing, I chose psych. instead. So I go to UCI and change my majot to Social Ecolgy which is a combo of social and biological schools. After all that I graduate only with the thought of having a baby. Meanwhile, I decide to stay at the Post Office. While there, I learn how to use a computer and here I am today. We a plan course and God gives ys His path to travel and we grow. Well hubby just got home with soup from the Chinese place so I am off. Have a great weekend. Hugs

February 15 2007
Todays Sayings: Looks like a touch of spring.

Though very cold last this morning(for So CA) it turned out to be a beautiful sunny day, low 70's! We had a nice dinner at our favorite Mexican place-Miguel's. Then we came home to watch American Idol
Tonight, my whole family got to have dinner together. Hubby made spaghetti. while I set the table with the new dishes. Then we all watched the movie FACING THE GIANTS. It was a really good movie about a high school football team. Well I am going to end and watch Grey's Anatomy with hubby. Hugs and blessings. Oh, the bear was purchased at the USPS and can be ordered online or Ebay.

Happy Valetine's Day!

February 13 2007
Todays Sayings: Back to work.

I made it back today and had lots to do. After work I went to Michael's and used my coupon to by a chest for my husband for Valentine's Day. It will be for the top of his desk to organize his files. We are both decluttering/organizing. I started it for him and he liked the idea. Andrew is making tacos at the moment since it is their cook night and Marina is taking pictures of him. Jr went to the market and came back with roses for me, a rose for Marina and a rose for Renee. Tomorrow we will go out to eat at one of our favorite places, Miguel Srs. Well Andrew has dinner ready, chicken tacos and chimichangas. Not real healthy, but real tastey!Happy Valentine's Day!

Todays Sayings: Another day of rest was needed.

I end up staying home today from work cause I had an upset stomach. We went to Sizzlers yesterday and I overate. If felt good to get the extra rest. My husband stayed home too cause his knee has been bothering him. We both have tons of sick leave and I worked through to many sick days in the past. I need to take care of myself now. I have been reading up on menopause. I brought out my handweights and started using them last night. I plan to take a long bath and get to bed early too. Take care. Hugs

February 11 2007

Todays Sayings: Happy Sunday

I woke up to rain today. I love the rain when I don't have to drive to work in it. We really need the rain here. We went to Sizzlers after church today. Kelli and Kevin from our married group joined us. We had a nice evening last night. Jr's pot roast was really good. Nothing like having company over to be incenive to get work done. I added some pictures to the remodel section and you can find that at the link on the bottom links.

By the way...When you think of Valentine's Day,
what comes to mind? Special memories, traditions?
I remember making valentines as a kid and the parties.
One sad memory when I had a miscarriage on that day. :(

Do you have any special plans this year?Dinner at Miguel's
If you had a choice, what Valentine goodie would you love to receive?
Well I bought a new vase so I guess flowers to put in it.
Do you have a special friend or relative that you'd love to
treat this Valentine's Day? Why? My parents 'cause I love them.

Todays Sayings: Lots to do!

Yesterday I came home from dinner and then went to bed. I woke up in time to watch Grey's Anatomy and then I went back to sleep, well sort of. Between hubby snoring, hot flashes and Reina roaming the room, I kind of slept. They say that irratability comes with this premenopause thingy. Well I think it is the lack of sleep that gets to you. Reina was scratching at the door to go out but she had already gone out. I yelled "Reina, go mi mi now!" (Me me) is short for dormir to sleep. She jumped back on the bed and slunk down because of my tone. Then I pulled her to me and she settle back to sleep. I still felt tired today. I need to go in for a blood test but it hs to be after a 14 hour fast. The Dr wants to check for thyroid, diabetes, iron, cholesterol and my estrogen levels. I was at the Vitamin store for over an hour reading all the labels of certain things and reading the information on things. I want to make sure I know what herbs can be taken along with prescriptions.I bought some black Kohash that helps with the hot flashes. The Dr. said I could take that with the Estroven. I can so relate to so many of us that don't feel our age, but our body reminds us. I have been eating better but I need more exercise.
My blinds are suppose to come in tomorrow and I hope they have the right size this time. The living room is getting painted and I hope it comes out okay because of the vaulted ceilings. Now I think the space up there is so wasted. It would make a nice loft for reading up there. Meanwhile, all the furniture is pushed together and makes things look messy again. I think I have had it with all this work. Darylynn, I don't know how you do it and with your 5 furbabies too!Wll I did get lots done this evening and tomorrow is our marriage group. We will meet in the family room so all will be ok. Hubby got the pot roast all set to go in the oven tomorrow. Things are looking brighter.

Todays Sayings: A Beautiful Winter Day

There was a beautiful sunrise this morning. The weather was just perfect, around 76. I have been very busy at work but the time goes by fast. I did some knitting during my break today. After work I went to the craft store and got a few things. After dinner I had to take the things out of my china cabinet and luckily Renee helped me. The walls on one side of the living room and dining are getting painted this week. Seems like there is still so much to do.I did get to catch most of American Idol tonight and I look forward to the the final 12. Well I am off to bed. Hugs

Todays Sayings: W weekend to relax!

Yesterday I was in Palm Desert and Palm Springs. We went to a spa called Rancho Las Palmas. My friend Liz invited Alice, Joanie, Olivia and myself to lumch at the Day Spa. It was so nice and relaxing and the weather was perfect, around 84. We had lumch at a Hotel Buffet. Then we went to the spa. We checked in and got a robe. Then we went to our lockers and found the spa slippers. We started out in the sauna, but I could not handle it. It is bad enough I am having hot flashes. They had washclothes in ice to cool off. There was ice water with pineapple in it in several places and we sure drank a lot. After a shower, we went to the pool. It was not crowded at all. They have a limit on the number of customers they can have at one time and we just made it. After time at the pool, we went to the jacuzzi. They provide everything for showers and the vanity area had everything too. Sunblock, bags for wet clothes, a baket of hair drying tools and more. We sat outside by the pool and enjoyed the sound of the waterfalls and just talked about how lucky we are to be an hour away from the desert, mountains and beach. We are going to go for 3 days in April. We had dinner at Chili's. I had grilled chicken with mango salsa, veggies and rice. I got home around 10. We went to church early then to Polly's for breakfast. I had oatmeal raisin pancakes. I have enjoyed a relaxing day watching the game. We are going for the Colts..... They one! cool. I went to the Dr on Friday and we discussed menopause. We are going to try herbal things for the hot flashes and I am going to get more soy into me. I will go to Trader Joes and buy some stuff. I need to exersise more. I plan on getting a stationary bike. Well I am off to read now. Have a great Monday. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Things are getting done!

Well the cabinets are done and look nice. They end up being darker than what we had wanted, but the color we wanted was more for a beechwood and the oak just absorbed to much of the color. Painting is next. The blinds come in on the 10th. I got 4 more boxes unpacked that were filled with books and pictures. I got tagged/email from Tania, Dru and Nancze to do this

Todays Sayings: Another day, but time for changes.

I had a great time at the concert on Saturday night. I took some picture and posted them at the link on the right called concert. Sunday was a day of rest. After church we had lunch and then I came home and read for awhile. Then I napped for about 2 hours with Reina. I knitted for about an hour, had dinner and picked up. I was back in bed by 8. I started my healthy eating again. I picked up a book at the Christian bookstore called the Seven Pillars to Healthful Living. The link is on the left under reading. I plan on going to bed early tonight too. I need to because my sleep is disturbed by the night sweats I am having. I am going to use my handweights for exercise then take a bath and read. Life is just to busy and I need to balance what I do so I do ot burn out. I want to be rested for my day trip to Palm Springs on Saturday. Darylynn had another quiz on her site and I took it. I did better than I expected. Science was my favorite subject. I am going to enjoy my pomegranate white tea I got at Trader Joes while I blog hop. Goodnight and hugs.

Todays Sayings: A busy day at home, a great evening at a concert.

I have been busy getting things done. David out my new computer table together and it is smaller but funtional. It does not have all the storage I had, but I have a file cabinet I am going to orgaize and use once I can get it out of the messy garage. I emptied some more boxes and put the dvd's back. I organized my cd's and listened to some at the same time. Tonight I am going to a Chris Tomlin concert and I am super excited about that.
They delivered the blinds today and they were all wrong. Turns out they used the measurement from the initial visit instead of the one from the installer. So the guys re-measured and will be back in 2 weeks. It did not bother me because we still have to paint the kitchen and we just selected the color. David will start that next week. I do try to balance my time and all work and no play makes me cranky so I visited Darylynn's site and found these quizes to do.

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The West

Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.

Todays Sayings: A busy day with Renee....

I took the day off to take Renee to her Dr appointment. So since I took the time for that, I also took her to get her passport. We went just as they closed for lunch so we had to wait an hour. I knitted while I waited and talked to some of the people in line. The passport clerk said that they have been read busy since befire Christmas and doesn't expect it to slow down in the near future. It will take 6-8 weeks to process and will be back in time for her trip. She is going to Cancun with friends for her birthday/graduation present. Tonight we fill out her Sr. order for grad announcements and so on. Luckily I have set aside the money for all this. I got a few more things boxes unpacked. I even raked some leaves before Renee came home from school. It was sunny and warm outside and Reina enjoyed being out with me. It is amazing how much I can do when I am not at work. I look forward to the day I can retire, but that is at least 5 years away. Well I need to get going. Hugs

Todays Sayings: More shopping today

I slept in and it was great. We headed to Home depot and cleaning stuff for the new floors and ordered a new faucet for the tub. Then we headed to Wal-Mart to get towels and other things. Getting the tile in the bathrooms has been an incentive for Daniel to organize his bathroom. We looked at floor cleaners but could not find what we wanted. We decided that Daniel will use a floor brush to scrub the floor. We had dinner at Applebees with the gift card my husband got for Christmas. Then our last stop was target. We found an ottoman for our family room and a dvd organizer for my husband. I got one for my cds. We got some blankets that were on clearance for the couches in the family room. We still have to get the book casese out of the garage and put then back on the 2nd floor. They need a good cleaning first since they have been out in the garage. Well I am going to take a long hot bath now. Have a happy Sunday!

Todays Sayings: A lot had been done this week

I am glad it is Friday. It has been a busy week and things are looking better. We moved 2 rocker chairs to our room. We rearranged the couches in the living room. My daughter has been busy cleaning the stair rails. I have been sorting things out and some thing have to go. We just have to find room for 2 more chairs or put them in storage. Tomorrow we are going to Home Depot to get a few more things for cleaning and repair. The garage is really a mess but will just have to wait. I am going to take a hot bath and then read. I am leaving with the Friday Feast.

Todays Sayings: Changes are continous......

Well the new flooring is in. It looks very nice but will take getting use to. We need to take our shoes off now. I need to get a swifter and we need some other cleaning stuff. We will have to paint the wall where the carpet eneded and where the modling is now. My daughter is cleaning the stairs for us to earn extra money. We need to take 2 rocker recliners upstairs. We should have done it before the flooring was put in. Now we have to be real careful. When we get things set up I will post pictures. For now, here is Reina trying the new steps. She was slipping the frist few times but she has it now. We need to keep her downstairs while we are gone. Take care, hugs

Todays Sayings: One thing leads to another......

Today they are putting in the laminate upstairs. I am in the family room and our bedroom is above it. I am washing today and cooking beans for dinner. I have not made them in awhile since we normally buy the canned ones. But since I took today off to be here for the floor, I decided to make dinner. It's real cold again and rain is coming in. That would be cool if it snowed. But this is winter and I am glad for cold weather. I can't stand warm weather in the winter. But speaking of warm weather, I got this cute siggy from TraceyThanks Tracey!

Todays Sayings: Things are moving and the big chill is here.

Our couches are here now and they are very comfy. They came yesterday while I was having my hair done. Now we did something really unconventional. We got the same couches for both rooms but in different colors. We are going for functional and comfortable over traditional. This way we can be in one room watching tv or the kids in the other with their video games. When things are done, we are going to get the area rug back under the coffee table. One thing leads to another and I think we will be painting in the future. We need to bring in more color. I haven't mentioned this to my husband yet. I think I will wait until the upstairs is done. The kitchen cabinets should be done things week too.

Todays Sayings: Things are moving and the big chill is here.

It was very cold last night and will be tonight down in the 20's. I am just about to move my computer to the dining rom and may not be up for a couple of days. We have to dismantle this old big computer table, move the entertainment center over here, set up my new computer hutch and then I can send up my computer. We are getting the new couches and things are getting moved all over. Like moving to a new house but so much junk. I will be going through boxes later and getting rid of a lot. Just no time now. Well say a prayer it all gets done and I don't get hurt. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Time to get warm and cozy!

Our weather is getting an artic blast and the nights will be on the high 20's. That is cold and unusual for So CA. But the snow is still in the mountains and not here. You can see that Tammy sent me some snow to play in with the siggie above. Ok, now for cozy, we picked out new leather sofas. Now instead of 3 people on the loveseat, 1 on the big old easy chair, one on the floor and one ont he computer chair(me) we will be getting a leather sofa and couch. It will be delivered on Saturday. I will get new ones in the living room too. I will post pictures after things are set up. Now we can watch all the DVD's in comfort. Well I am off to watch Grey's Anatomy. Hugs

Todays Sayings: Good news

Good news, My aunt is doing much better. The meds they gave her cleared the initial blockages. She will now have to take heart and blood pressure medicine and take better care of herself. She is not heavy but I am sure her eating habits will change, something I have to do too. I am struggling with the night sweats/hot flashes and they were bad last night. I remember taking off my shirt and looking for a tank top. Luckily I had gone to bed by 8pm from being tired the night before. So I will go to bed early again. I can't afford to get sick so I will get my rest.

Todays Sayings: More work in progress

Good news, the flooring comes in next week. Bad news, my aunt Rosie. my cousin Joanie's mom had a heart attack but she is stable and should be having test this morning. She is only 66 and it was a surprise. So please keep her in prayer for me. I am off to work.

Todays Sayings: Take the time to bless someone.

The winds were very strong most of the night and the power did go out for a minutes and then it was back on. My husband and I slept in until 11:00 today. I have not been sleeping well because of night sweets. My husband says I throw the blankets off and then pull them up and away from him. Oh well thats life! We went out to breakfast and a new Mexican place in our shopping center. The salsa was great! So was the rest of the meal. Then we came home and got to work. I put away the outside decorations and cut back the rises some more. I organized in the garage, still putting away Christmas and I hurt my back. Mostly oversstrained but I feel like I worked out.A hot bath helped me but I will have to take it easy now.
On a sadder note. Two months ago I went to our Women's retreat. I was in the room with my 3 friends and our friends were in the room aross the hall. One of the girls brought her 71 year old mom. On Sat. evening, they all came into our room and Carmen was sharing stories with us. We had a nice time. Yesterday she Carmen passed away. Right after the retreat, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She was not having any obvious signs until after she came back. You know I love to take pictures and I happen to take one that had Lisa and her mom at the retreat with their roomates. I was asked to make a copy for the photo montage they are doing. Pictures capture memories and I am glad I have a lot of them. Life is precious and we never know how long we have. God bless those we have lost.

I would like to go to the snow too.

I am sitting here wondering of the power is going to go out. The wind is very strong. The humidity is low and the weather is cold. But we still have red flag warning which means fire warning. Renee and her friends drove to Big Bear today. I made sure she had warm clothes, blankets and food and water. I believe in being prepared. She called to say they had to put on chains. She said it was cold but not to windy. She is a Sr and 17 1/2 so I have to let her grow up and have fun. No saying, I do pray a lot for her, for all my family. She graduated in June and is going to Cancun with her 4 friends and one if the girl's parents. I finished The Fifth Seal last night and have to wait a few months for the next book. Speaking of books, I have 2 large book cases down stairs and 2 smaller ones upstairs. I have to empty the upstairs books to get ready for the new flooring. I was at Target today bying several plastic containers to pack books and other things. I plan to do more decluttering while I am at it.

Todays Sayings: Back on track

I went back to work today after being off for 4 days. After work I stopped by JoAnn's to get more yarn for a scarf I am knitting my sister Terry. We are 16 months apart and very close. I asked her what color she wanted and she said brown. I found a new type of yarn that I really like for it and I plan to make me one too! We were invited to our friends for New Years and it was a nice way to start the NY with friends and food. Funny as the women were in the dining room and the men in the kitchen/game room. Lucky for us, my husband and I were off work on Tuesday too since we are postal workers. It gave us a chance to get Chritmas stuff put away. David came today and removed our cabinet doors again to resand them and bleach the wood so we can get a lighter shade. If this process does not work, we are going to paint them white. We have estimates scheduled for the upstairs flooring. So the works goes on.

Todays Sayings:Happy New Year!

We had dinner at my inlaws last night and then we had a quiet evening home watching the NY celebrations on TV. I was very touched by Dick Clark. It was good to see him there hosting another NY in spite of having a stroke. He is a great example of persevering, even through the rough times. It relates to the lesson we had at church about running the race and not giving up in spite of the obastacles life throws our way. It is a good way to start off the NY. I know that at times I get lazy and miss out on things. Like today, we were invited to a get together with friends from church to celebrate the NY. I woke up late and I felt like I just wanted to stay home and watch the Rose Parade again. But I have missed out before and why, because I was lazy. So we stopped at the market and got some fresh shrimp, sauce, crab salad and crackers and headed to the party in spite of the wind. You know what, we enjoyed ourselves for couple of hours and now we are home relaxing. Well I am off to put on my pj's and read for awhile. I get to sleep in too since I am off in the honor of the late President Ford. Hugs
