Well we come to the end of another year. So much has happened this year and baby Eddie is running around trying to talk. He has brought so much joy to our family. Family is the most important thing to me, to most of us. Every day we get a chance to be thankful for the memories we have of loved ones and for the new memories we create. Every year I think about resolutions and health will be my foremost priority. That and spending more time with my parents. I will think about my goals for the year and list them hopefully at my next post. We will be going to my inlaws for dinner, then to my son's house for awhile. I pray that you and your loved ones have a safe Happy New Year. Hugs and blessings.
I had to get up early for work today. I was pretty busy and the time went by quickly. I went straight home, put my pj's on, went to bed and slept for 3 hours. I have been relaxing most of the day, playing on the computer, or with Eddie or watching tv. I work tomorrow and then I am off another 5 days! I know that I need to make some changes in my life and will post about that in my next post. I will also have my Christmas pictures ready to share. Meanwhile, I have my NY pictures linked to the left for you to enjoy. I would really love to go back. Goodnight friends.
I worked this morning and now I am off until next Monday. I wonder how many Santa letters I did while making calls to Post Offices. I got all my shopping done, but not all delivered. I will meet with one friend after Christmas. Today I met my girlfriends for an early dinner. We had a the whole buffet room at Sizzlers to ourselves for our dinner and Christmas exchange. We were there for almost 3 hours, chatting away. I am very blessed to have my friends both off and on the net. I ran to the market to get a couple of things when I saw a really cute Noah's Ark learning toy at Ralph's and I grabbed it. It plays music and each animal fits into a shape. Tomorrow my husband and I will be cooking chili con carne, chili with meat. We are using chicken and we will also add squash. My husband will also be making fresh salsa. We will spend Christmas Eve with his parents and then have Christmas dinner with my family. I plan to stay in my jammis most of the day until it is time to shower and get ready. We have another big rain storm coming in tonight and it will rain on Christmas too. The weather has been cold too. The nights have veen in the low 30's and I find ice on my window. Snow is still on our peaks. Well I am off to bed now. Hugs
Last Monday we had a big rain storm come in and we got rain for several days. It was also colder than normal for us so we got snow in the lower moutains, The hills above us got snow. It was nice to see snow on the mountains instead of fire. Darylynn, the shot below was taken close to the animal hospital in Tustin, by the old Tustin Airbase. We live on the other side of those. Just the day before the rain, I had taken the picture below of our front yard tree with its beautiful fall colors. Those leaves will be gone by mid Jan. Saturday I rested after having been sick on Friday. Jr was making tamales at his parents. I enjoyed a quiet house because Renee and Edward took the baby to Knotts. When Jr came home Saturday, we made a few more tamales with the rest of the masa. Today the weather was sunny and in the low 60's. We drove to Temecula after church and had lunch with my parents after dropping off Christmas presents. Before going to lunch we let Eddie play a bit and he was non stop. My parentsw also got to see him a temepr tantrum. I told dad to ignore him and he laughed but stayed quiet. I think it amused my mom. My mom seemed much better today. The dr increased her meds and they seem to be helping. I told her how much I loved her and gave her a big hug. Well I need to get to bed because I will be driving solo again since Jr is now on vacation for 2 weeks and rain is coming in again. Hugs
We need the rain but not all in one week. Winter has arrived early for us in So. California with our 2nd day this week of rain plus unusually cold weather for us. Snow is at around 2000 feet and we can look all around at the local mountains and see the white stuff. It takes about an hour and half to reach it. Hopefully it will help the mountain communities as skiers head on up. The days are going by quickly and I have been so busy at work that the times just flies. I monitor the activity of the APC's-automated postal centers in our district. We get alerts and I call the offices and send out emails so they can check the machines. The other things I do this time of the year is DEAR SANTA letters. Every year we gets tons of letters from kids and each one is answered. Those letters that indicate a real need are given to charitable organizations. We have postal employees that will adopt a family too. Some of the letters will be typed out and have I want numbered 1-20, 50. Others will ask for pets and they are usually specific in the breed. Then there are those that just want food and clothes and those are the ones that are set aside. Dear Santa and Dear God are the only ones that are allowed to be opened. I got one letter from a little child that included a piece of costume jewelry and I took it back to claims so they could send it back. We post the cute colorful letters around our offices so we can enjoy them. We work the letters in with the rest of our work duties. I have my office all decorated with Christmas lights and I listen to my Christmas CD's and then there are goodies brought in daily. When hubby and I were on our mini vacation a couple of weeks ago, I took the picture below at Garden Walk. and thought it was beautiful. So I share it with you. Hugs
I had a really nice weekend with my family and friends. My husband and I just watched Survivor Gabon and are happy that Bob won. I would have liked to see Sugar get the Sprint award, but Bob got that too. Bob is from Portland Maine, a stop I made on my cruise. Speaking of cruise, I finally have completed my Photo pages and you can find the link to the left. Saturday we went to a Christmas party and Jerry and Karen's. I work with Jerry and my hubby and I enjoyed the many lights and decorations. They are both big time Disney fans and Hallmark fans. Sunday we went to church early to see the Chidlren's Christmas play called A Country Christmas. Then we took some pictures out in the lobby with Santa. Eddie did not cry or seemed scared, but he would not smile either. You can see him smiling at the picture to the right. I will share one now because I have to get up early for a wet commute. Hubby has the day off. More pictures to come tommorrow. Hugs
I can't believe how fast the days are going. Friday we all went out and worked in the overgrown yard. Saturday I went to my parents home. We went out for lunch and then we went shopping at Costco's. I ordered some pictures reprints for dad and then dad and mom picked out gifts for family members. I plan to go back next Sunday. Then Sunday after church, we had lunch and then Renee and I went shopping. I needed a shirt to go with my new jammis that I wore to the Women's Christmas Party this evening. It was a princess theme and everyone got crowns when we checked in. Our crowns were out name tags. There was a flower pot in the center of each table filled with star shaped cookies on a stick. Dinner was simple, just pizza and salad, but it was fine, just what a pj party calls for. The highlight was the skit where a teacher is going over the Christmas story with her classroom. The cast is the New Beginnings staff as children. Some of the cast were the actual kids of the staff. They took their unique characters and elaborated it and it was so funny. Then we sang some Christmas Carols and had a guest speaker talk about Mary, the mother of Jesus. After that we had desert, which consisted of hot fudge sundaes with the works. Part 2 of the skit had each "child" tell us a part of the Christmas story. It was funny and special all at the same time. We were all created unique and each of us created for the Father. He has crowned us with his love.
I decided I wanted to put up some of my Christmas Village houses anyways.
Instead of putting them all together the way I normally do, I put small groupings in different spots.
I did this because I decided to make my Nativity the focal point for this Christmas instead of the houses
or snowmen. I like the idea of changing things around. Today I showed the baby all the different things in
the living room and he would point and go Ohhhhh. He was looking at the snowman tree and some of the snowmen
at the base. I handed him a snowmen that was on the couch that he could hold. He walked over to the snowmen tree
and tried to put the snowmen with the other. He was quite happy when it got where he wanted it and he clapped his hands.
Now that is a joyful moment. This weekend I will set the Fisher Price Nativity up for him to play with. It looks like
this I found this online quiz
today and thought I would share it with you. Have a great Friday! Hugs

We spent Sunday at Garden Walk.
Once we got there we decided we wanted to see the movie Austraila in the new theater. So we walked around and then had lunch at
Bubba Gump Shrimp Factory. The movie was long but we had
great seats. Then we walked around and decided to eat dinner at the California Pizza Kitchen
It was a great way to end our weekend. Now let me tell you about my Saturday night hair color. I decided to touch up my roots with the Root touch up by Clairol since I did not find the one I normally use by Revlon. So I got everything ready, put my gloves on and read the directions. It said be careful not to tip the mixing tray when I mixed it with the brush and guess what I did, tipped it. I scooped the stuff back into the tray and proceeded to color my roots. Good things there was a box of tissue in there because I think by the time I was done I used the whole box! I had to wipe the color off my face and then I realized there was color on the fomica counter so I grabbed my toothpaste and smeared it into the counter and thankfully it worked. I did not like the way the color looked not, a dark purple blue. I thought, just what I need so I jumped into the shower and started to rinse it out wondering if they got the dye from an octopus. Then I laughed when I the image of a little old gray lady with blue hair came to my mind. She must have used this stuff.
Ok, it did come out ok, a little dark, but ok. Next time I plan to visit my hair stylist. Then I will touch up with my Revlon sponge brush. Remember, I saved myself $45.00 so after work today I went to Sears and got some pj's for the Women's Christmas pajama party. I thought it was tonight but it is actually next Monday. I needed a day to make dinner and spend time with the baby. Well I hope you had a good laugh. I am off to bed now. Hugs
Hi friends, it is Sunday night and I am in my hotel room enjoying free time on the computer. Hubby was watching tv and just went to sleep. We got to see the Disneyland fireworks from our room in Orange were it borders Anaheim. We got here on Thanksgiving day and we leave Sunday. Friday Renee, Eddie and Daniel joined us and we went to Knotts Berry Farm to have the Chicken dinner and then enjoy the craft show. It was nice to be there with the kids, but it was nicer when they went back home! Hubby and I could get use to going away like this every few months. After breakfast we headed to the Block in Orange and watched the movie Bolt. Now if you are an animal lover you will love this movie and we really enjoyed it. I would even watch it again. We shopped around a bit then got some food from Market Broiler and went back to here to the hotel. Tomorrow we plan to go to Anaheim and check out a new shopping place near Disneyland. We will eat lunch and then head home and then it will be back to our busy routine. I am going to bed now. Hugs and blessings.
I have been washing all day and getting the house picked up.
I am done with my Christmas decorating and now I have to get busy with my scrapbook
project. Our family will be spending Thanksgiving with my brother Scott and wife Cindy this year.
I made my candied sweet potatoes and they are in the fridge set to be baked tomorrow. I will make
my salad tomorrow so it will be fresh. Jr and I are staying a few nights at the Ayres in Orange and
we plan to go to Knotts and Donwtown Disney. We won't go into the parks, but we will window shop. The
main thing is that hubby and I will have some alone and quiet time. I will take my laptop
and maybe get my blog changed over to Christmas. Hugs and blessings my friends.
I finally got to meet Darylynn and Dru Saturday at Z Tejas at South Coast Plaza.
We had a great time and chatted just like old friends. We spent three hours enjoying our lunch
and the time flew. Darylynn gave Dru and I a heart shape Christmas ornament and I will be putting it
up on my tree tonight as we start decorating it.We went out and bought a new slimline tree for the corner
in our living room. We have put it in front of out window since we moved here in 1990. Last year we got an
older big screen TV and it sits in front of the window now. With the arrival of baby Eddie, things have
changed around. The family room is basically his play area now and he needs space since he started walking at
9 months. So Jr and Daniel moved there things to the living room and now it in comfy and in use. For so many
years it was the "formal living room" that we rarely went in to. Now everyone is happy. I started Christmas
decorating yesterday and stayed up late doing so. I am off to get out the boxes of ornaments now.
You can find the link below to all the great friends I have met on the net. Have a great week and a
wonderful Thanksgiving if I don't make it back to update. Hugs and blessings!
Saturday we were busy getting ready for the
party. Nature got in the way with several fires in neighboring cities so
several family members could not drive in because a few freeways were closed.
But the party went on and Eddie got lots of new toys and clothes.
I will be making a page for him. Was going to do it today, but decided to
take a much needed nap. I did spend time cleaning out my closet and getting
rid of several things. We are also in the process of planning our Hawaii trip in July
and that will be my incentive to lose weight. We are cleaning out the garage to
make it our workout room. I will be glad when the weather gets cold.
Have a great week! Hugs
Well my little grandson had reached a milestone in our lives as he turns one. His Gamma and Gampa
love him to no end. He has blessed us in many ways. We took today off work to be with him. We are going to Chucky Cheese after lunch and then to Toys R US to get his gift. I know it has been a long year for Renee and yet she already sees
how he has changed her. She has become more responsible in some ways and is a very good mommy. His daddy loves him
too and provides the best he can. I pray that for Eddie's sake, his mommy and daddy will be able to work things out in the
best interest of Eddie. We are having a small family birthday party here and then on Saturday we will be having the
big party at my son's house. His mommy and daddy bought him an outfit to wear. Click the link on the left to see his latest pictures. Hugs
Out fall weather finally has arrived. We had some rain Thursday evening and Friday morning. It was a bit humid for Halloween evening which was great for the treaters. Our church hosted Trunk N Treat again and Jr and I had our highlander set up. Renee picked me up and we went home and go Eddie ready. Look at the link to the left to see his pictures. Saturday was sleep in day. I had a nice relaxing bath and then joined my friends at Olive Garden for lunch. We end up being there for 3 hours and it was great. I came home for awhile and then headed out to do a bit of shopping. I love the time change in the fall just because I get extra sleep and we all made it to church in plenty of time to get good seats. The message was really good and ending the series on making a U turn back to God. After church we stopped at Pollo Loco and then it was home to tackle a mountain of laundry. I am reading several books when I can and getting my scrap things together for my next project. Well the laundry is calling me. Have a great week. Hugs
I can't believe that I have not blogged in over a week! Yesterday we celebrated several birthdays at my sisters house. We had a really nice time. I was able to put the 2 photo albums together for my parents, almost 400 pictures of our vacation. I haven't even begun to work on my photos but I am almost through with the web pictures. I am reading several books right now and I finally can bet back to my declutter project. I went through several boxes of things in the shed that I am getting rid of. When there is room in there, I will transfer garage items to the shed. I could get so much done if I was physically able and if I did not work, but I do. So I will do what I can when I can.
It has been in the 90's and I am so tired of the heat. The nights are getting cooler and it should be nice for our Trunk N Treat at church. Baby Eddie has his outfit and I will be posting pictures on Sat.
This past Saturday we attended the celebration memorial for Tony. It was like going to a wedding, all decorated and tons of food. There were 2 video montages of Tony when he was growing up and his life before he became a Christian. Then there was the 2nd one which had pictures from his time once he started coming to our church. Pastor Jim likes to dress up for our Trunk N Treat and last year he came as Tony. They showed that pictures and everyone laughed. We will all miss Tony but we will meet again.
We are in the process of planning baby Eddie's 1st birthday party and it will be the Backyardagains theme. It it a children's program on Nick Jr. Eddie loves it and carries his little pals around. They are made by Ty, the beanie baby company. I better get going now. I am off to soak and read. Have a great week if I don't make it back. Hugs
Today we went to Temecula to have a birthday lunch with Mom and the family at Pat and Oscars. Next week we will have the actual birthday celebration for both Mom and Dad. Dad turned 75 while we were on the cruise so we decided to make a joint celebration. Happy times are meant to be celebrated and sometimes sad times do too. On Friday, the facilities manager of our church passed away which was a great shock to our church family. I was looking forward to having lunch with my friends on Saturday so we could share our vacation storied. Friday night I got a call from my cousin Joanie and she was crying telling me that Tony had died. She told me what she knew. While at the men's retreat he lost control of his motorcycle and fell. He stopped breathing before the paramedics got there. I went to bed thinking how a young man of 41 could die leaving his wife and 16 month old daughter. But reality is that people die and it hurts our hearts when they were a friend. I spoke with Joanie the next morning and she gave me some more information. We also knew that we would not be having lunch together so I stayed home working on my pictures and talking to my family about this tragedy. Church was very somber today and we did not have a regular service. Pastor Jim said that he wasn't giving the regular message but instead he would be talking from his heart. I know Jim and I could tell he had been crying. He began by reading a Bible passage that told of when Jesus friend Lazarus has died and Martha and Mary had gone to him. Lazarus was his friend and Jesus wept. Then Jim told us that he lost one of his best friends and told us how and he cried several times. My heart hurt for him and for Lisa and so many. It made me think of when my grandma died in 1995. Pastor Jim had called me at home to say he was sorry and that I would see her again in heaven. Then he told me "Susan, you have lost someone you loved and you need to grieve. It is okay to cry." Like Jim and so many, I had learned to hold my emotions in, not to express them. I felt that to show emotion-cry meant I was weak. Though this trait is more common in men, it was something I learned while young. But I learned that God gave us emotions and crying was one of them. The BIble says there is a time to weep.
Jim shared how many men were crying and many were praying. The Dr told Jim that there was little evidence of external injury that indicated that Tony died from a fall. He believes something like a heart attack probably caused his death. Jim told us about how a big, strong tatooed biker came to know Jesus and how he became a man who loved to serve God by serving others. He had a gentle, giving spirit. He and his wife were not able to have children but they were able to adopt precious Isabella. He loved his wife and daughter and it is sad to know she will not remember him. Jim talked about how he cried out to God why, knowing that only God knew. You see, regardless of what we think, God is in control and the only thing we can do is trust in Him. But we are also human and we have emotions and we have love. So in spite of the tragedy, good will come out of this whole thing. Jim said that there were over 600 men at the retreat from several churches and they took up a love offering to give to Tony's wife Lisa. Tony was the man who made all the behind the scene things at church happen. When my son Andrew got married, he was the one that took care of all the things that made the church ready for the event like the lighting and the video set up and the cleanup afterwards. He always had a smile. Jim said that as believers we knew that we would see Tony someday. Jim said we are a great church and there is a lot of love at New Beginnings. Men were stepping up to help in areas that Tony handled. Women were planning the service for next Saturday. A collection was taken for Lisa and I know our church will make sure Lisa is taken care of. Jim reminded us that none of know when our time will come and to be ready. I know this is a long post as I am sharing a part of me, and my feelings as I grieve. It makes me even more grateful for what I have, my faith, my family and my friends. Life goes on so make the most of it and tell your loved ones that you love them. Gods blessing to you my friends. Hugs
Today the new Alzheimers Stamp went on sale an I bought a sheet. This stamp hits home as my mom has this awful disease. The back of the stamp pane says," According to the Alzheimer’s Association, someone in America develops Alzheimer’s disease every 71 seconds."
To raise awareness of issues surrounding this disease and to draw attention to the importance of the caregiver, USPS will issue 65 million 42-cent Alzheimer’s Awareness stamps beginning today. I am almost finished with my pictures. It takes time to resize and rename the pics and place in order. It is Friday night and I am really sleepy so I am going to post this now. Hugs
I have been wanting to update my blog for days now, but I have been busy decorating the house for fall, working on my pictures and sleeping. There was a time when I would stay up until the early morning to get something done like my webpages. But I need more sleep nowdays. I think that age and my new meds make me sleepy. I also take more time to spend with the family. Don't laugh but I took over 1000 picture from my 10 trip. So I have to decide which ones I want to put on my photo show. I will make 2 of them. One for NY and one for the cruise. When I am done, I can start scrapping. While I am scrapping, I will be planning for Christmas and our vacation next year. Did I mention we are going to Hawaii next year for our 35th anniversary. I need to get in shape for sure. I better get back to my pictures now. Hugs
Yesterday we were at 108, the temp is dropping and there is a 50% chance of rain Sat.
That is the day Andrew has his house warming. Now if it would stay low, the Santa Ana
winds ususally start up in Oct. and somtimes the hot wind comes with it. We are at high
alert for fire and since we had very little rainfall this year, it makes things more
dangerous.
Yesterday my hubby and I went out to dinner at BJ's. We shared the bruchetta and spinach/artichoke dip and
we each had a mini pizza. Afterwards we went to the movies to see Fireproof staring Kirk Cameron. It was a very good,
heart wrenching movie and I really want my daughter and her boyfriend to see it. I told her I would
babysit for her. We watched the baby for awhile when we got home from the movies so Renee could run to the
store. Jr put on his Backyardigans show and he loves to dance and carry his Backyardagain friends. I need to get
some updated pictures of him. Speaking of pictures, I am working on the vacations pictures and it takes time.
Walgreens has a special this week when you develop 50 + pictures, you get them for 10 each. So I have uploaded the
first group of over 200 pictures and asked for double prints so I could give my parents a set. Now I need to get the
2nd group done or I can just go to the store also. I picked up my pictures yesterday before the movies and while I was there,
I got a scarecrow yard flag for my garden. I would normally have changed from summer decor to fall by the frist week of Sept. But since
I have been gone most of the month, I am behind. I hope to get some done this weekend. I am pacing myself too. My wrist is finally
getting better and I sure don't want to mess it up. So today I took down a few summer things and put up a few fall things.
I am going to soak in the spa and read a new book I got. Bye for now and Hugs and blessings to you!
I got in around 11:00pm last night and my family came out to greet me. Reina was crying and she was licking my face. I walked into a clean house and roses on the dining table. Baby Eddie was asleep. I passed out my gifts and then headed up to shower and jump into my bed, minus one pillow. I took an old pillow with me and left it behind since I had so many gifts that I came back with. I slept in until 9:30 and then headed downstairs to see Eddie. I said Hi Babas and he turned around, smiled and said OH and then walked over to me and held up his hands. I picked him us and kissed him and he put his arms around me and put his little head on my shoulder. It made this gamma very happy. I told lots of people about my grandson while on my trip. I gave him Tasha from his BackYardigans program and again he smiled and said OH, I went back to bed and slept until 1:30. I have made it through most of my 300+ emails now and I will be busy working on my vacation pictures both online and scrapping. Oh and I need to get caught up on the shows I missed while I was gone. By for now. Hugs
I have been washing and packing for my New York trip. I got a few new things and a new coat that I can use all winter.
I bought one dress and am taking 4. I am packed for any weather type. I need to call Gray Lines in NY to book the same tour my parents got for the 19th. It is a motor coach tour of upper and lower Manhattan. It also includes the Statue of Liberty cruise and visit to Ellis Is. We also will eat at the Marriott Marquis view lounge on the 48th floor above Times Square. It is an 8 1/2 hour tour and it will be a great chance to see NY in our limited time there. We will see Phantom of the Opera on the 18th. I have completed our chore excursions for Boston, MA, Portland ME, and Halifax NS Canada.I work tomorrow and then I am of Tuesday to finalize my packing, dinner with the family and then my lavendar soak :) I will be picked up at around 4:30 am on Wednesday morning. Time to get to the laundry. Hugs
We have been watching the History Channel of that fatefull day the Twin
Towers got hit. My husband and I were just leaving for work and hearing the news and wondering
if it was for real and then they said the second tower had been hit. At work, I took my break and went
to the lunch room just as the 2nd tower went down. It was like a sci fi war movie and yet it was in our country. I remember how people had flags on everything. People were going to church in record numbers. It was just so sad. Next week this time I will be in NY.
I finally got my hair cut and colored. I cut 2 inches off it and it feels much better though I do miss the length. But I am losing more hair and my hair stylist said shorter would be better. It is more layered in the front too. Then I have decided to let the bangs grow out since they are so unruly anyways. Since I hurt my wrist, it is hard to use the hot iron. Daniel and I had dinner and then we watched Sara Palin speak at the Republican convention. Last weeks convention was theatrical and this was more family like. Of course the news kept showing the baby and the pregnant teen daughter. The highlight was when the youngest daughter was fixing the baby's hair and she used the old lick the hand , smooth down the hair trick. It was so funny and endearing all at the same time. I can't say anything about her being in the same position and knowing how important it is to support your daughter. I did like how Barak Obama said something to the effect that politics should not be about the family. Barak's name is in the Bible, in the book of Judges, His wife was the ruler and her name was Deborah. It will be interesting to see how things play out. Speaking o babies... Eddie loves to dance. Whenever he hears music, he moves his head up and down and his bottom and he is just so cute. My phone has ringtones and when he heard it, he stopped what he was doing, smiled and started dancing. The other thing Eddie likes is brushing his teeth, all 8 of them. He will be 10 months old on the 10th. Time sure does fly! Well this gamma needs to get herself to bed. I have lots of things to do tomorrow. See you when we come back. Hugs
I finally got to sleep in today! I also got several things done too. Renee and Jr took the baby to the Block in Orange Count. Jr wanted to get Hawaiian matching shirts for him and the baby. I got my room picked up and then headed over too Michael's to use my 50% off coupons. I got a book book on using Photoshop elements. I got another book on scrapping, and a page set for my NY trip. We are going to Andrew's in awhile for a bbq. Friday I went with my friends. We stopped at Subways and then headed back to my friend's house and ate by the pool. The we decided to take a drive to the local Wal-Mart and did some late night shopping. Then we stopped at McDonalds for ice cream. My kids wanted to know why I was out so late. The tables have turned now. Saturday Renee and I went shopping at Kohl's. She got some summer things for our vacation and I got a couple of things for my NY trip. Then we stopped at the new Babys R Us and got the extension to the baby play yard(the cage) We also got the gate for the stairs. Since he is walking, it is time to start baby proofing this house. Then we came home and I got ready to go with my friends to a bridal shower. First we stopped at Bed Bath Beyond to get gifts. I love that store because they gift wrap and we got to use our 20% coupons. The bridal shower was hosted in the most beautiful home I have seen. The Mexican food was catered and was great. The weather was perfect for sitting outside. The bride to be just graduated from Law School in NY and will reside there. I will miss the wedding because I will be in NY. After we left the shower we decided to stop at Starbucks and enjoy the evening talking. Church was good as always and afterwards Renee and I stopped at our favorite Chinese food place. Edward and his dad picked up the baby so they could celebrate Edward 2's birthday. Little Eddie is the 4th. Renee spend the rest of the day with her friend that she has known since kindergarten. Her friend will be taking care of Reina for us while we are on vacation. I am listening to my Christian music and I am enjoying it. I don't own an I Pod, but that will be on my Christmas list this year. Well it is time for me to go now. Have a great week!
Yes I am still scanning, but not as much as I was. I am down to the wire now, sending them to my niece.
I was also going through old floppys and I found some Christmas graphics I wanted to use. I was all excited only to find the disk
was bad. After trying a few times I was able to get some of the graphics off it. It was gingerbread from Cinnamon Stick Graphics dated around 2001-2002.
Graphics have come a long ways and I have enjoyed decorating my blog/site with them. I am enjoying going through pictures and seeing some for the first time is like finding a treasure. A part of this process saddens me because the years have gone by and I realize there is so much I do not know about my parents. The mom I have known for years is changing and the little girl in me is scared and sad. But then I realize that God is in control and I still have my parents and I can make the most of the time we have left. I am going to take time on the trip to ask questions and of course lots of questions. My next project is to make a scrapbook using a lot of the pictures I scanned. Thanks to Judy, many pictures have been restored to a much better picture. I am so grateful to you Judy. I do have to take breaks and I visit with the family and the baby. He did something new today. he stood up from a sitting position and took off. He was walking on the grass and fell down and he does not like to sit on it because it picks. Then he was a yellow bag I had and got up and headed in my direction. Hugs I plan to post pictures at his site. I need to go now and spend time with the family. Hugs
Almost done with my project. Still have3 pictures all over. I booked our NY Phantom of the Opera Theater tickets today. My parents requested that and my cousin Joanie said it is a beautiful theater. Baby Eddie has 8 teeth now and is walking more and enjoying it. He is saying mama dada papa and gah which we think is dog. He is 9 1/2 months old. Today he had avocado. He likes chicken and cheese. He loves to play in the water. He has been spending more time with his dad who will be going into the Navy this fall. Well I am off to see the Olympics. Hugs
I need more hours in my day! Yesterday I was suppose to sleep in but I woke up early so I got online and checked my messages and then started scanning. After breakfast I went to my friends Cliff and Debbie to pick up my computer that was getting serviced by Cliff. He showed me all that he did and it is like having a new computer. After that I went to my aunts house and she gave me all these copies of pictures she made me of my grandmas family. One is of my grandma's grandmother. She put the information on the back of each picture. I need to scan them and make copies. My aunt Roise also have me some crochet items she made. I took her to lunch afterwards and we had a nice time of sharing. She serviced in the Navy and was stationed in SF during the Korean War. After our visit I took her home and then headed home to get back to my scanning. Renee and I stayed up to watch Grey's Anatomy while the baby played. Baby Eddie is growing quickly. He takes a few steps when he wants to. He started saying Mama yesterday. I know it made Renee really happy. Today he had his sandals on like his "Gampa" Renee went to Andrew's house and Jr and I went to lunch with Daniel and then Jr and I went grocery shopping. I took a much needed nap after putting things away. I took Reina out for a walk and let her play with the water. She loves the water coming out of the hose. Well I need to get to bed now. Have a great week! Hugs
Thanks for all the birthday/anniversary wishes and gifties. I am still busy scanning and I think my scanner is protesting. It is freezing up on me and I am not sure if it is the scanner or computer. I am going tomorrow to
get my desktop. With this big project, I need it. This laptop is getting bogged down with tons of pictures.
Judy has been nice enough to help me with the montage by fixing some of the older pictures. She is so good at doing this. She is getting to know my family pretty well! I was happy to receive 2 gifts in the mail, one from Judy and another from Tammy. I have met both Judy and Tammy and it has been a blessing. I know I will meet Darylynn this year. Darylynn, I hope we can meet after my trip, in Oct when the weather cools down. Here are more gifts I received. It is great to be blessed by so many. I had a nice birthday dinner and baby gave me a gift of a big smile showing his teeth. He has 7 now and he took 5 steps today. He is growing to fast. Time to secure this house!
Hugs and blessings.
Yes it is my birthday today and I thought I would say thanks to all those who have stoppe by to wish me a Happy Birthday and anniversary. My husband and I had a nice time in San Diego yesterday. We upgraded our reservations for the Paraside Point in Mission Bay and had lunch there. Later we drove to Little Italy and had a real nice dinner. It was a great way to spend our 34th anniversary. I am still scanning pictures so I will be scare.
Hugs and blessings to you!
I had a wonderful time with my friends in San Diego. I have been
busy since I am came back. I am still busy scanning pictures which
all over the guestroom bed and Desk. I have 2 more weeks to get the
pictures scanned and ready for the photo montage. I will be going to
my parents this weekend to copy more pictures. My aunt will be there also
with pictures.
Today is the Disney Stamp event at Disneyland. I was not able to
go since I am injured and on modified hours. Renee, Edward and the
baby will be going and I am sure they will take lots of pictures.
Baby Eddie is growing so quickly! He is taking a few running steps.
He will be standing along the playpenholding on with one hand then
he will let go and take a few steps. He laughs with delight and we
laugh with him. His pack n play is in the tv room. We have the baby playard in the living room.
There is more room for him to play in there. He really loves to be outside on a blanket.
He will crawl all over the blanket, but does not like the grass. He is starting to
say baba dada and mam and a few other sounds. He is also eating more foods now and he
will self feed small items liked shredded chicken and the baby pufs. His favorite is
sweet potato. Renee is a really good mommy. Renee got her hair cut yesterday and it looks really cute. I will
post a picture later. Andrew and Marina were painting at their house yesterday and
Renee helped while Edward was watching the baby and getting things ready for Disneyland. I took a car
full of things to their house and then stopped to visit my cousin Joanie for her birthday.
If I am scare, I am busy with pictures, even dreaming of scanning! Haha! Hugs
I had a wonderful get away to San Diego with my friends.
As I was getting ready Tuesday for my get away, the earthquake hit. I felt it begin
and then I realized that things were really shaking. I could hear my china cabinet
items making noise and then I ran for the baby, and Renee was coming from the other
direction. Once it calmed down, I grabbed my camera and took a picture of my chandiler
swinging. My son Andrew called to see how I was doing. I tried calling my son Daniel
but just got a busy signal. Jr said he tried to call me but got the same thing.
Turns out that so many people were trying to check on people that it jammed the
phone lines, but cell and land lines. Edward got through to Renee to make sure she
and the baby were ok. I went to the local market to check on Daniel and almost
every isle had broken items on the floor. I found Daniel at the juice isle and they
were cleaning the mess from bottle of juice that had fallen. He gave me a hug and
kiss and told me to have a good time and behave.
My friends and I met up and we drove in my car, first stop Olive Garden in Temecula.
We got to are destination in Oceanside only to find out there was a mix up and we end
up at the la Quinta Inn in Carlsbad. It was a nice clean place and we chalked things up
to our adventure. The next day we had our continental breakfast and enjoyed the waffles.
Then we left to our next destination at the
Wyndam Harbor Lights in the Gas Light District in San Diego.
Andrew and Marina got their house today. The sellers moved out by noon and Andrew,
his brother and his dad started working in the yard. Andrew swept out the garage so he can
start moving boxes in tomorrow. The carpets will get cleaned tomorrow and they will order
their appliances and bedroom furniture. Andrew will do some painting this week and some
cubboard cleaning. Marina has to take it easy for a few days. Please keep Andrew and
Marina in prayer. Marina had a miscarraige. I told them the baby is safe
in the arms of God and they will need to greive. The dr said
they can try again in 3 months. So they will concentrate on their house. I know how it feels as
I had 3 miscarriages before Anderew. Have a nice Sunday. I plan to wash and scrap.
I hope to get pictures up tomorrow.
I woke up before 6am because my hand and shoulder were hurting. Then my mind was just busy
and I felt the need to pray for my parents and for the rest of the family. We will be meeting my parents for lunch today.
Andrew and Marina are having their
walk through today and the house should be theirs by Wednesday! I will be out of town for a few day, but back
by Saturday which is moving day. I am really excited for them. They got a 1900 sq foot, 3 bedroom home in the newer
area of my city, close to a new elementary and middle school. The market they like is around the corner. They have
a community pool with a bbq. I will be passing on my piano to them. I have had it for 45 years and it was a gift
from my grandparents. Andrew will be able to take all his things he has had stored in the garage and guest room
since he got married along with the things they stored here when they moved out of their apartment.I have been cleaning out drawers of mine to for give away. I am just in the mood and it needs to be done.
I have been busy scanning pictures and I have pictures all over in the guest bedroom. I was suppose to work on
it all day Saturday, but my short trip to Kohls and Michaels turned out to be a 6 hour shopping exercise. I got a
start on my Christmas shopping and got a gift for my future grandchild. I was trying not to look at girl dresses.
I tried on lots of dressed for my NY trip, but did not find anything there. I will go to the mall this week and maybe I should try Macy's and New York & Co! Have a nice Sunday! Hugs
The days are flying! Saturday Renee and I went to visit my parents for the
day and we came home late. After church I spent several hours scanning pictures.
On Tuesday I went back to Temecula with my cousin Joanie and her mom. We
all met at my aunt Celia's. My aunt and uncle are visiting from Oregon.
The last time we all met was at my Uncle's funeral. We had a nice visit and took a lot of pictures.
Wednesday we went to the Orange County Fair. We went last year when Renee was expecting so it was nice to
go back with the baby. Since we were near the beach, the weather was beautiful, around 78.
I got a surfboard sign for our backyard and Jr got the baby a Hawaiin shirt. We are way too much
but that is what you do at the fair. Jr and I shared the roasted turkey leg and a orange stawberry banana Julius.
Okay, now for the surprising news, I am going on a New England cruise in September with my parents and sister.
Dad booked a New England cruise and a few days in NY. After last weeks get away with my sister and her husband, he realized it was a lot for mom.
So now Ann and will be going to help dad out and just enjoy our parents on this trip. Our sister Terry can't
go because she is interning at her job and can't take any vacation yet. My brother ans his wife just took a trip to Europe.
So I be going on 2 vacations in September. More details and more pictures to come. Thanks for visiting.
Yesterday after dinner, we met Andrew and Marina and took our dogs to the dog park. We put the baby in the stroller and I headed to the entrance but it was the wrong one. There was the large dog park so we heaed to the small dog partk. Daniel and Andrew set up chairs and watched the baby while we let the dogs lose. Well they did not really like it because they were afraid. They are so use to being with people they think they are! We had a nice time watching the baby watch the dogs. Afterwards we went to Baskin and Robins since it was $1.00 scoop day. I woke up with a big head ache and I felt achy and cold in the morning. Renee picked me up and came home and went to sleep. I am feeling better now. I think the acupuncture is helping because I am feeling better. Here are a few pictures.
I have had good days and better days withmy shoulder/wrist. Thursday I had my 3rd acupuncture treatment and I felt better. Over all I think things are getting better. I have and MRI on my shoulder area to see if I have something that might be causing the wrist to keep hurting. Stop and think how complicated out bodies are. I have a slight buldge in my 3rd & 4th vertebrae in my neck. That was found back in 95 when I had an MRI. So it is pobbile that all the problems I have had with pain are from that which come from the nerves. But the pain causes the muscles in the area to tightenen which pinch the nerves so it is a vivious cycle. When I hurt my wrist, it also aggravated the old neck problem. I am so glad that I have a good dr and physical therapist that knows acupuncture too. The other thing that is hard is seeing my mom get worse with her alzheimers. It affects her speech and some memory. She has lost so much weight too. Her neurologist has scheduled an MRI on Monday, the same day I have one. On Tuesday my parents are going with my sister Ann and her husband Ernie on a drive uo to Hearst Castle. It will be goof for my parents to go away. Ann and Ernie celebrate their 30th anniv on the 15th and my parents celebrate their 55th on the 18th. The whole family will celebrate my parents in Sept. when we all go to San Diego. I pray that everyone's health will be good and we can enjoy our family vacation. We hope to go to Sea World while there. I am currently researching scanner because I have a lot of old pictures to scan so I am off to do that again. Have a nice week. Hugs
Saturday I went with my parents to a birthday/reunion
party for my dad's second cousin. Dina turned 90 and all her family was there
and her 3 other sisters that all looked great for being in their 80's.
My grandma Louisa was cousin to Dina. To make a long story short, two brothers, married
two sisters and that led to Dina's family line and ours. My sister Terry had to do her geneology
for her Master's program and my dad brought it out to share with Dini'as daughter.
She is doing the geneology and there was a missing picture that my sister had. She got it from our aunt.
It was very interesting to hear the stories. My cousin took notes and will share them
with us. I guess that means I will be working on a family tree after I work on
another project for my family.
On Sunday we went out to lunch with our friends Kellie and Kevin. We had lunch at Balboa in
Newport Beach. A year ago we went out and talked about Renee who was pregnant and all the emotions we were experiencing.
They were a great support to us. On Sunday we were both celebrating the future arrival of
grandkids, their's due in November and ours in March. We sat on the beach and talked and even saw dolpins swimming by.
We walked on the pier watching the people fish. The sites and sounds brought back good memories.
We left the beach and end up at Mimi's for desert. They stopped at our place and we showed themt he backyard.
We agreed to get together soon.
Prayers are appreciated for a healthy baby for Andrew and Marina and that the escrow goes smoothly for them.
Have a great week. Hugs
I was without internet service since Wed. night. So Thursday I called and ATT and asked them to come because the men in the family were going to be upset without any TV. Thursday we rented The Bucket List and I thought it was a great movie. Then at around 1 am(Friday) the electricity went out and was still out this morning so we went out for breakfast. We learned that a transformer blew and SCE was working on it. So Daniel, Renee and I went shopping. First stop was Toys R Us were we got the baby some DVD's and an outfit on clerance. Daniel bought the baby some swin trunks and a truck. Then we headed to the mall and met Andrew and Marina there. We shopped around while talking about the baby to come. Marina is starting to feel sick now. She is due on Feb. 22, on her dad's birthday. We stopped at the market and got stuff for a bbq. We just came in from the front yard were Eddie played in his pool and Reina played in the sprinkler. I hope to post pictures tomorrow. I am off to soak in the spa. Happy 4th! Hugs
Friday Renee and I went shopping and got Eddie some clothes and baby food. We met up with Jr and Andrew and Good Fellas. Andrew and Jr went to get the store so Andrew could get roses for Marina. Saturday I stayed in my cool summer pj's for over half the day. Andrew said Marina loved the roses. Later Marina came over after work at the mall. She does makeup and it was her last time to do it since she is making enough money with her current job and she is now expecting. We went out to eat at Johnny Carino's for dinner and then we headede to a graduation party. We were able to annouce the news to our friends. We also shared the news to friends at church. As I mentioned before, we plan to tell my family on the 4th when we get together. I spent a lot of time in the spa today. It is always nice after it has been drained and cleaned. Well I need to do some laundry and get ready for work. Here are some pictures of Eddie from this morning before church. Have a great week. Hugs
Yesterday I was having dinner with my friends when I got a call from my son asking me if I could come home because he needed to talk to m. That is so unlike
Andrew to call when I am with my friends. I heard worry in his voice so of course
I left tight away. I was thinking they got the house or they didn't get the house. Then
I was getting more worried thinking it was my parents. When I walked in Andrew was looking at Marina and then he said Marina was expecting a baby! Oh that was great news!!!
I told Andrew not to worry(wonder were he gets that from>) that God was in control and everything would work out with the house and the jobs and even daycare. They showed us the
little stick that turns positive. I tried to take a picture of it but it was too bright. Renee is happy to be an aunt and baby Eddie will have a cousin sloe to his age to play with. Daniel was happy to. Grandpa Jr was happy too. We plan to tell our family when we meet for the 4th. I would love a grandaughter, but a healthy baby is what I am praying for. Please pray for a healthy pregnancy. Hugs
We are back to normal June weather with clouds in the morning giving way to sunny afternoons. I have had a headache the last couple of days and my neck has been bothering me. I have had several work related injuries over the years and I think this recent one
with my hand trigged the older shoulder/neck. I have been using the left hand/arm more and that hurts. The previous Dr said I had a slight bulding of my 3rd and 4th vertebrae
and that is causing most of my problems. I am not sure what workmans compensation will
cover ont his injury other than trumatic injury to the hand. I have to wear a brace
to type and that is ok. It was bending and twisting that hurt the most and the hand is
getting better. Yesterday we went for dinner as I did not feel like cooking. I had tortilla soup and it was very good. Baby Eddie kept busy playing with a spoon Renee was dipping in cold water. You can see where his gum is swollen on one side on the top. He was more fussy at bed time so I sat with him on the swing and sang all the songs I would sing to my kids like Jesus loves me and Heavenly Sonshine and he finally fell asleep. I guess watching him fall asleep and still having a headache just got to me and I went to bed at 8pm and fell right to sleep!I helped Renee with Eddie as he had another fussy night. I did go in the spa for awhile and it helped. I told Renee I would watch the baby so she could have dinner with her friends to celebrate a birthday. Then I found out this morning my friends were getting together too. That kind of bums me, but oh well, that is life. I need to get to work now. Have a great day!
I took a few days off from the computer because my wrist and shoulder was hurting a lot. Friday evening I was in bed by 8pm and I slept until 7:00 am! Yesterday morning I got to work at 6:10, put my Nikes on and I walked outside for about 40 minutes. It was cool enough that I did not sweat though I did go to the bathroom and wash up and start work. I must have done 2 miles and it felt great. I had to get some walking in before the heat. The walking also relaxes my shoulders too. I went in the spa twice today, once with the baby. We lowered the temperature to 96 and it was really nice. We just came back from dinner at a Sushi place. I had salad with ginger dressing, grilled shrimp and hibachi chicken, fried rice and veggies. It was great! It is 6:30 pm and it is 100. It got up to 104 and will be hot again tomorrow. I am going to go back in the spa soon. Here are a few pictures to share
I had a very nice weekend with family. Saturday I got up early and went walking again. I got about 3 miles in.
My kids took my husband out to lunch later we went to my sister Terry's house in Temecula to celebrate her son Emilio's graduation. I gave my dad
his Father's day gift. We all gave him money and my son Andrew is taking him to get a GPS for his caddy CTS. My son
Daniel ande his cousin Sergio cooked carne asada and we had rice, beans potato salad, and fresh fruit. Jr and Daniel made fresh salsa.
Eddie was happy to be with everyone. Because it was hot during the day, the evening was very nice. Sunday morning Renee made her dad breakfast before going to church.
The baby had a really cute outfit on and his dad joined us at church. Adter church Renee ande Edward went to visit his dad. Marina's family went to Red Lobster which
is next to El Torrito where we ate with Jr's family. So Andrew sat with us awhile. Andrew and Marina made a bid on a house about 2 months ago and they got
it accepted with a counter offer. My dad submits it tomorrow and hopefully all will go well with the escrow and they can move in the first of Aug. They found out on Friday the 13th and
both Andrew and Marina got job promotions and nice raises. Daniel went to bakery school last week and that will add to his cooking interest. Renee has been real busy with baby Eddie. He just turned 7 month and he
is taking steps all around the crib or playyard. Today he spent time in spa with me. Because it has been hot, we lowered the temperature so that it was
bath warm for the baby. Renee gave him a bath when he got out and he was ready for bed. We are watching the Lakers and the game is so close with a few minutes left. The Lakers won!
Ok, I need to get ready for work. I should have pictures up by tomorrow. Hugs
I have already walked 2 miles this morning and did the same yesterday. I took Friday off to get some things done including having my hair colored and cut. Today will be a busy day for us. The kids are taking Jr to lunch today for Father's Day. Andrew and Marina have some family things to do with her family and we are going to 's Temecula to celebrate my nephews graduation, neices birthday and Father's Day with my dad. We will probably go to lunch after church with my husband's family. I sure hope I don't over eat! The boys got their dad a new weed wacker but they will end up using it!
Sunday was warm so we spread blankets on the lawn under the big shade tree
and let Eddie crawl around. He would go to the end of the blanket and touch the grass and then stop and do it again. It is so cool to see a little baby learn. We will be having hot weather all week and luckily we have a good afternoon breeze that helps. Renee took baby Eddie to Great Grandma Apples house to use the pool. I will post pictures tomorrow. Here is is with his hair combed and ready for church. It is 5:45 and I have to get ready to leave to work which is 30 miles away. Hugs!
It was a long week and I am glad it is over.I had a lot to do at work and it was hard because I am having more pain in my shoulder and neck. My wrist is getting better as far as typing. Grasping is still hard and my hand is a bit stiff. I am sure after a few more therapy sessions I will be back to normal. My neck and shoulder is a long standing issue but I was finally getting better when this latest accident happened. Ok. so much for that. Tonight I am going to the Casting Crowns concert. I have been working on this new layout for awhile. I like being able to change my blog
around they way I want it to be and using the graphics I like. My hand is doing better, still tender in the wrist
with normal acitivites. Luckily typing is not to hard because the hands are pretty straight.
I had a nice relzing weekend, not having to drive myself anywhere. Saturday I went to the movies with
my son Andrew and we saw Narnia, Prince Caspian. Sunday Edward watched the baby and my family went
to see Indiana Jones. It was like old times, just the 5 of us. Today Andrew and Marina came over for dinner.
Hubby was off so he made chicken tacos and Mexican rice. He used the brown jasmine rice and it turned out
pretty good. I am waiting for my food to settle so I can walk. After dinner we were all
watching the Barnyardigans on the Noggin channel for kids. Eddie loves the sining and dancing.
Ealier in the day I stopped at Barnes and Noble and got the book Denise mentioned called Clean Eating.
I went by the children's sections and found Tryone, the moose from Barnyardigans. It was
funny to watch baby Eddie look at the stuffed toy and then at the tv and then back at the
toy. He has been more clingy and wanting his mom. We think he is teeting again. We have beautiful weather this week
and it is perfect for walking. I combined a couple of work breaks to walk today and it was great. It really
helps my shoulder by easing the cramping. Well I am going
to go back and join the family. Hugs
May 30, 2008
I made it through the week. I still am wearing the brace and I can type a bit since most of my hand problem is in my wrist. I can't bend it or twist it without pain, but it seems better. The same with my shoulder as long as I take my meds. We saw Mad Money this evening and it was entertaining. Here is my Then Sings My Soul Featuring Voice of Truth by Casting Crowns. I see them in concert next Friday. You can read more about the group by tapping the link on the right. Have a great week!
I don't know if I mentioned, but I hurt my wrist and aggravated my shoulder at work last week. So I had to go see a dr and I am in a brace. I am spending limited time on the computer. I decided to start walking again and I did 2 miles today! Yesterday my husband and I were on vacation and we decided to go to Olvera Street in Los Angeles. Daniel, Renee and the baby went with us. Olvera Street is a street out of traditional Mexico with its crafts, colors, music and food. After we had lunch and shopped, we went to Chino town for more shopping. I will leave you with these pictures. Time to rest the shoulder and wrist.
We are back to cool spring weather, cloudy in the morning and sun in the afternoon. We also have some wind for the next few days. So we will have cool weather for the Memorial day weekend. I fell asleep last night while watching DWTS and we recorded AI. I am going to watch the final tonight in the family room so I can stay awake. Renee is putting the baby down. He is just so active. He has learned to get in the sitting postition and he crawls over so he can pull to stand. Edward and Renee lowered the crib matress because he can pull to stand and he even took a step over and then fell. He is just going to fast for us. Here are a few pictures from this past weekend and one from Mother's Day.
We had record breaking hit for the spring, hitting 103 in Temecula and 102 in Corona.
Renee, baby a I drove to my parents Saturday. We had the car packed with baby things.
Porta crib, play yard, entertainment center, portable high chair and and all the regular things like food and clothes.
After we unloaded, we all went to eat at Denny's for lunch. We stopped at the store where I picked up some groceries.
When we got back, I got in the spa and then Renee gave me the baby and then she joined me.
It was his first time in the spa. Mom and dad sat by us and enjoyed themselves watching us all in spa.
My parents moved into this home the day Eddie was born. My two sisters live in the same neighborhood.
I am about 40 miles away. After we got out, we gave the baby a shower and he was ready for a nap.
After the nap whe crawled around until we went out for Chinese with my sister Ann and her family.
Renee got to enjoy her meal as everyone took turns holding Eddie. Later we went home and had desert and watched
a movie called Somersby. Renee and the baby slept in the study that has a side room with a pull out couch.
I slept in the guest bedroom but forgot my pillow, so my neck was a little achy. Sunday we slept in. I made
scrambled eggs and toast and my siter Terry made cream of eat. Mom ate well which is good
because she has lost so much weight. Then Renee and I lounged around the pool while the baby napped.
That is dad wanted to know when we wanted to discuss the contract for "Club Sandoval" Dad loves
to joke around. He said it gives him lots of pleasure four us to come and visit.
Dad wanted to go out for a late lunch we were heading out when we saw Terry and her family who were on
the way over to see us. So we left the baby with them while we had lunch. He was asleep when we got back so
we rushed home and loaded the car up and picked up the baby. Whew! Renee drove home and we stopped by
his Grandma Apple's for a short visit. "Gampa" held the baby as we unpacked. It was still
in thye 90's when we came home and in the 90's today. We got some groceries and Edward helped us unload.
We got baby food and so did he. After dinner today we sat out by the spa. I love to rock Eddie on the ourdoor swing.
It really relaxes him. Well it is time to watch DWTS. Have a nice week. Hugs
I had a long post for today but left it on my work computer.
I will post it tomorrow. It was so nice today that I decided
to work in the yard, cutting back roses and trimming the border.
Renee took the baby out to play on a blanket and we chatted as
I worked. Renee was happy to be included too.
I am refreshed after a nice shower looking at baby items from
a link Darylynn sent me. I guess we just spoil our grandsons. Isn't that
what grammas do? :) Renee is making dinner and then we will give
the baby a bath before American Idol starts. Hugs
We had a very nice Mother's Day weekend. Saturday we went to my inlaws and has a luau style bbq around the spa. Before that Renee and I had gone shopping and I found a dress to where for church that I can wear to work too. Sunday morning I woke up early and had plenty of time to get ready. Each mom got a carnation. Afterwards we went for a sushi lunch. When we got home I got gifts together while hubby and Daniel made salsa. It takes about 40 minutes to get to Temecula and it was nice to see everyone inclduing the newest addition, baby Micah. I know baby Eddie was happy in everyone's arms and he enjoyed crawling on the carpet since we don't have much carpet. I hope to add more pictures tomorrow. Dad had the yard all fixed up and it was great that the sun came out by noon. It was cold and drizzly today but will be close to 100 by the weekend. Time for bed. Here are a few pics to share.
I didn't sleep very well last night. My sinuses were bothering me
and hubby was snoring and I was hot flashing so needless to day I was tired all day.
This dreary weather we are having probably adds to the way I am feeling.
I guess I need Geritol. Do they still make that? I wish Tammy would come down here and
be my personal trainer and give me a few boots to get me back in gear.
We watched American Idol yesterday and recorded DWTS. I heard Mario was voted off and
I suspect Jason will going too. I look forward to Survivor which we record and we
watch Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy.
I was thinking of taking Monday off work because I will know I will be tired after Mother's day, but
the rate change is Monday and I know I will be getting calls. I will see.
Cinco de Mayo is like St Patricks Day. It originates in Mexico and celebrates Mexico's independnece from the French during the 1860's.
The Mexican food places are real busy today. I met Danna today and we had a real nice time. I got to meet her grandson Riley and her Stepmom Eva.W talked for a long while and then walked to Target so Riley could stretch his legs and get a toy to keep him busy. I added Danna's picture to my Net Friends page on the link to the left. We hope we can meet again since she come to California once a year. We went to Miguels for dinner since hubby and son wanted Mexican. I was still full from lunch so I just shared what they had. Each guest got a mini nacho plate for the day. I took a picture of the pinata you see above. It is one tradition we did carry on from our Mexican heritage. Each birthday, the pinata was filled with candy and the kids were blinded folded one at a time and tried to hit the pinata and break it to get the candy, But the pinata is attached to a rope and the pinata is moved to make it hard to hit. Everyone enjoys it. I am not relaxing in bed and thankful for meeting a new friend and enjoying good food. Bye for now. Hugs
It is 6:16 am and I am sitting in front of McDonalds by my work. I wanted to get my post for today since I was not able to post yesterday. I was really tired when I came home and I was in bed lights off by 7:30. I missed American Idol and was sad to hear that Brooke was voted off. It was time for her to go. She had a very sweet personality but she can't compare to the two David's that are left. But she will be on tour and who knows, Randy might cut her a folk art remake album.
I have to get to work in a few minutes so I will end with a prayer. Dear God, thank you for blessing me with so many friends on the net. I ask you to bless them, keep them healthy and safe. Watch over their families and loved ones. Help each one while we are in this recession, providing needs and comfort. Thank you Lord even for the computers that let let us reach out. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
I took a nice hot bath after work on Friday and then got out and started cleaning the bathroom. I through all sorts of things out, and it is so much better. I had to go back and rinse things off including me. I did not get to sleep in this morning so I stipped the bed and put a load of laundry in. Then I took the baby so Renee could sleep in. I put him in his entertainment center and made breakfast. My manager at work gabe me a DVD that has puppies playing a window. They were jumping around and barking and he was laughing away. Jr got up early too and went to water the backyard before it got to hot. It is almost 4pm and 96 outside. After Renee got up, we put the baby down for a morning nap and we went to get her hair cut and my brows and lip waxed. This hormonal thing we women have to go through is the pits. Renee lost a lot of hair after she had the baby and it is finally growing back. I seemed to aquire more hair and hot flashes and have now started hrt. Okay so we came home and I started moving things around and sweeping and cleaning and why I picked this hot day I do not know. Well it needed to be done. Renee gave Reina a much needed bath and I think I will go soak in the tub. I may get in the spa tonight since it will still be warm. I will leave yo with my 'Then Sings My Soul Saturday' Featuring Mandisa who was on American Idol and who I got to see on the 2006 concert tour.
This morning I cut some roses from my garden which is really blooming.
I brought them into work so I could enjoy the beauty and fragrance. One is an ivory color and the other is a dark salmon pink and are over 20 years old. I had planted them at my first home and then brought them with me when I moved in 1990. They are pretty hearty roses, they take a lot and keep coming back. They have seen beautiful days, and weathered all kinds of bad weather except snow. Hey that is like me! I brought all my things in my Whole Foods Market Green bag. It is pretty roomy and it was free! I also love my trader Joes tropical beach bag which I used when I went on my getaway to Oceanside. I recycle even at work. I save my soda/water bottles. I use the paper recycle bin. I use my fishbowl water to water my plants at work. I need to get some of the new light bulbs and I plan to do that today. Time to get going. Have a great day!
When I went away with my friends last week, there was a time we were listening to music and I was knitting. One song really caught my attention and it was called Be Still. I was thinking about how busy life was and what a blessing that I could take time off to have fun with my friends. It made me thankful for lots of things. I was thinking about how I had missed church 2 weeks in a row which is rare, but I did not feel guilty because I can catch the message online and I am strong enough in my faith to be ok. Worship is not just singing at church. It is so much more than that and can happen in many ways and not just in church. It is giving praise and thanks to God, the creator of all. So on Friday, Joanie gave me a gift to give to Renee and it was the new WOW Worship 2008. Renee and I were listening to it in the car as we drove to Irvine to Babies R Us. We were talking about how worship music helps us to focus on God. We talked about how sometimes things happen to us that will draw us back to God when we fall away or lead us to God when we need answers. Of course we will not always gets answers or the answers we want, but God is still in control. I just put baby Eddie to sleep and as I sang to him as I rocked him, I thought of how I did not even know about him at this time. And then I remembered how I felt when Renee told me that she was pregnant. I was so sad, yet I knew that a baby was a gift from God. So we put our trust in God. Baby Eddie has blessed our family so much. He has brought our daughter closer to us and closer to God. After our shopping trip, I stopped at Tania's blog She has this post that lead me to a blog that focused on Worship music. I have the link below. I am including the song that touched me below. It is Chris Tomlin singing. I heard him in concert Jan 07. So I will leave you with that. Have a great Sunday. Hugs
April 18, 2008 Todays Sayings: Thank God it's Friday!
I am in my car by McD thinking about how sleepy I am and maybe I need one of their new iced coffees. They have the sugar free vanilla flavor and I think that is what I will get before I leave. But I do love the hot fudge sundaes but that is taboo. I sure did enjoy the one I had at the beach this past weekend! It was a very busy week at work and I am so ready for the weekend. The weather will be cooling down and I hope to work in the garden a bit. Wednesday we went to Hong Kongs' for Renee's birthday dinnner. We had a nice time there and came home and had poundcake and fresh strawberries. Yesterday I recorded the baby moving around the floor. He is rocking on his knees now and rolling all over. I think we will need to get a baby corral at Baby's R Us and a high chair. He had sweet potatoes yesterday and he really liked it. I am not sure how he will feel about peas which he will get next. We will be watching the baby Saturday evening while Renee and Marina have a girls night out. At least the baby is down between 7:30 and eight. Well I better go now and get my coffee and get to Jr's work. I will read and knit there or maybe take a few zzzzzzzzzz's. Hugs
It's tax day today and I am glad we got ours done and money back. We got a nice sum back that goes towards our family vacation this summer. Today we got news that a mistake was made and we owe some money to our mortgage company. I was really bummed about that but things happen and luckily we got that extra money back.
I had a great time with my friends this past weekend. We sure laughed a lot.I forgot my meds and that has thrown me for a loop. I will get back on track after a few days. I also need to catch up on my sleep. Renee got hives and so we went to the Dr's yesterday and she put her on Prednisone for 5 days and she can't nurse the baby. I feel bad for her and him. The Dr thought I should start a small dose of estrogen because the hot flashes have been bad again and she thinks my mood is being affected by it too.
Tomorrow Renee turns 19 and we will celebrate this weekend as a family. I started knitting again. I find it relaxes me and I need that at times. I need to get someone to teach me some new stitches. When I was with my parents last week, my mom said she lost the scarf I knitt her and I told her I would knit her another one. I made a white one while I was gone but I want to make her something else. I feel like my thoughts are all over but hey
that is one reason I started my blog, to put my thoughts down and reflect on them.
I left Thrusday feeling better, just a bit stuffy. I think it was more allergies. It is less than an hour to Oceanside when the traffic is good. We had beautiful weather when we left and came back to record breaking heatwave. It was in the high 90's here and at 9pm, it is still 76. Luckily the weather will be going back down. I did not get much sleep while I was gone, I was a bad girl with my eating but I will get back on track tomorrow. It is nice to be home and I sure missed my grandson! Well I am pretty tired so I am off to bed. I will post some pictures tomorrow. Hugs
Tomorrow I leave for a mini get away with my friends to Oceanside, San Diego county. I have been looking forward to this. The down side is I have a head cold. I am not surprised because everyone here has had something. baby's nose has bee running for days and he had been fussy. Today he cut his first tooth! Renee cut her first 2 at four months, so I am not surprised. Renee and I went shopping today. I got a new bathing suit and a new top. She got tennis for her birthday which is next week. I also got her a light weight coat. I forgot to get some Zicam for my cold. I had about 4 vitamind C/zinc throat drops and I had chicken soup too. Hey, nothing is keeping me from my get away. Now to get back on track with my eating. I had too many carbs today. Renee and I watched Ido Gives Back and they ended with one of my favorite songs... Shout to the Lord. Well I need to get to bed early because I have to get up early and pack and stop at CVS for goodies and sunblock. Here in Baby Eddie napping and Reina falling asleep too.
1pm: I am sitting in my parent's family room looking out to the backyard.
They have a really nice pool and landscapping. The few overlooks a nice development and
hills and lots of trees. I am reall glad that they got this house so close to my 2 sisters.
I have decided that I plan to come and visit them at least once a month. I all most feel
like I am on a mini vacation. Saturday my sister Terry and I went out to Black Angus with
my parents. Before eating there, we stopped by the place my sisters works as a counselor.
She showed up her office and it is set up to do a lot of play therapy which is geared
to the child and teen. I am so proud of my sister and how she got her Masters at 50.
Afterwards we went to Fallbrook to see our new grand nephew Micah David born 4/6.
We came home and had some apple pie and icecream. I had 1 wedge of apple, no crust
and just about a tablespoon of icecream. It was so sweet but good.
Then I got my jammis on got on my parents bed and watched a movie with them. It was Mel Gibosn and
Keith Ledger. A Patriot movie. The news came on and I was saddened to hear on the news that Charleton Heston died. He
was one of my favorite actors and I loved him in The Ten Commandments and Planet of the Apes.
I was even more surprised to hear he had Alzheimers, which my mom also has. On Spet 21 of this
year, a new stamp will come out to honor Alzheimers and the caregivers like my dad.Just so happens
that the 21st in my dad's 75 th birthday.
In the beginning of Sept. we will all be staying at the Bahia in San Diego to celebrate my parents
belated 55th aniv and the Aug and Sept birthdays. I am looking forward to it. Today my parents
and I met my sister Ann and her family for lunch. Ann and Ernie are the new grandparents of Micah.
I already picked up a cute outfit for him that matched
baby Eddie. It will be for when we are all in San Diego. All this is to say I am blessed and
thankful for my family. I am blessed to still have my parents with me. Of all the things I have
in life, I treasure my family the most.
It's almost 10pm and I am ready to go to sleep. I end staying and making dinner for parents after we came home from Longs. Here are a couple of pictures of my parents with Greatgrandson #2. Then Terry and I with Nana ann baby. Have a blessed week. Hugs
It has been a busy week and I have not been online much. I started eating carbs today, 1 piece of toast. I lost 7 pounds. in 3 weeks. Just 5 more to go. Today I am getting my hair done and then I am spending the weekend at my parents. I will be back Sunday evening. Have a great weekend.
March 29 2008 Todays Sayings: Saying goodbye and getting caught up.
The weeks go by so quickly now. I use to come home and get on my computer to get caught up. Now that I have a laptop, I can check my emails after work and then come home and play with the baby. A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I lost a friend from church. Last night we took home made green chili chicken enchiladas to Jeri's family. Jessica, Marina's mom made red ones and then we took rice and beans. Today was his memorial service and it was just beautiful. It was like a wedding feast and it was held at our church. There was a sign in table were we got a program. Then there was table that held pictures and momentos of Tom. He was an engineer and chemist for Rockwell. Then as we entered the church, we were suprised to see that it was set up like wedding. A desert table was on the wall as you walked in. Round tables were set up throughout the church with a vase of red roses, small bowls of candy and nuts were on each table. Once everyone was seated, the retro band came out. Let me explain. Our church began in 1992, and met at Pastor Jim's house. Then it moved to a school that was close to Tom and Jeri's home. We started attending in early 1993. Pastor Jim was lead singer of the church band at the time. So it was a delight to see Pastor Jim, in his suit putting on a guitar, and Norman and Bobby were up there, Mike was on the drums and Lucia, Jimmy's sister was singing. Jim said that Tom and Jeri planned his celebration service and requested certain songs. So that band started and worship began. It was just beautiful. Tom Tellez read Psalm 23. Then there was a video montage of Tom from when he was a baby. Randy Malchow read a poem, basically daying, not to bed sad, because Tom was at home with the Lord were he wanted to be. Pastor John invited people to come up and share how Tom had touched them. That must have lasted an hour and it was very moving. After that Pastor Jim shared a few things and then said it was Tom's request that Jim open an invitation for those who wanted to accept the Lord. I had to run to the restroom at that time and then I joined Renee in the baby room. That is a room that nursing mom's can be in and they can see and hear the service, and the room is soundproof because we all know that babies cry. There was tons of food and I was good and only ate chicken and salad. I let Renee eat while I carried baby Eddie around, me being the proud gramma. Jeri's daighter in law came over to me and said she loved the enchiladas and asked for the recipe. I told her I would
see that she got it. It was truly a special time of love and friendship.
Once we got home, it was pick up time.
Now it is computer catch up time. I leave you with a few pictures from Baby Eddie's first Easter. Hugs
After the Easter egg hunt on Saturday, I headed for the store to get fruit and veegies for the weekend. I showered and joined my friends for lunch at the Elephant Bar at the Galleria in Riverside. We caught up on our lives as we enjoyed a great meal. I had grilled salmon, veggies and a salad instead of rice. After lunch, I still had to stop at Walmart for torch fuel for the tiki light, then pick up flowers and ballons for Marina from Andrew. Marina's Luau party was a success. We had grilled beef, chicken and shrimp on skewers. There was lots of fresh fruit, salad and whie rice. I stayed on course with my diet. Sunday we went to church and then we came home so I could make the fresh veggie plate. We all met at my brother's new home which was formerly my parents. We had a wonderful time and everyone wanted to hold the baby. Renee really got to enjoy the day, eating at her leisure and just chilling with the girls. I was really good and stayed on my diet. I got to eat prime rib, veggies and salad. I had to forgo the twiced bake potatoes, pasta, bread and chocolate cheese cake. I did get sugar free jello. It was really hard to get up for work on Monday and today I actually had to take a nap when I got home. After dinner I relaxed in the spa for awhile before watching Idol. Time to get ready for work now before bed. Hugs
March 23, 2008
Our weather has been great, in the mid 70's and clear after morning clouds.
It will be this way through Easter so we will have perfect weather for the church Egg hunt.
We have been busy doing spring cleaning and fixing up the backyard. We has a lot of Santa Ana
winds and that messed the yard up quite a bit. It is all clean and ready for the summer.
I "planted" lots of spring/tropical plants and I will pack them away at the end of summer.
I will be going to the Good Friday service at church which isn't too long. Saturday is the
Easter Egg hunt we hold at the local neighborhood park. Besides egg hunts for the different
ages, there is food and fun things to do. The changed the time so it isn't as early so I can
do now and still sleep in. Renee and I plan to take the baby for awhile and we plan to dress
him up. I hope to have a picture here to share on Sunday morning. I am not sure what I am wearing
this Sunday. Our church has a casual dress code. But by tradition, I like to dress up for Easter.
Not real fancy, probably just pants and a springy shirt.
1. Food: Everyone has at least one favorite guilty pleasure food. The one that makes everything seem right in the world. The one whose caloric content no longer matters because of how good it makes you feel! What is that food for you? My home made tacos.
2. Pampering: Pampering is always good for indulging yourself! What is your favorite pampering thing? Is it a hot bath with some sifully delicious bath and body products? A mani/pedi? A massage? Give us the goods! Yes. both of those and I spent 2 hours in the bath today reading.
3. TV and books: Do you have a guilty pleasure when it comes to reading or watching TV? You know, a show or a book that you just don’t want to admit you read or watch AND enjoy? Give up the dirt! Watching the Bachelor.
4. Shopping: Most everyone has something that is nearly impossible to avoid buying, regardless of whether or not you need it What is that thing for you? Nail polish, yarn, shoes? Something else?! Purses
I can't believe a whole week has gone by since Iast blogged. I use to come home and play on the
computer and then again in the evening. But now I play with my grandson. I have been reorganizing
also and that takes time. With the warm weather, we have been getting our backyard in order.
We have had lots of windy days and everything is blown around. I am more tired in the evening
and I have been going to bed early. I even missed American Idol on Wednesday because I fell asleep.
Renee and the baby are doing well. Every time she puts him on his back, he rolls to his stomach and then
pushes up. He is also bending his legs which causes him to creep forward. I think this little guy will crawl early.
If you put him in a sitting postition, the one were he has his hands in front, he tries to stay upright for several
seconds. He will do that until he tires.
I lost a dear friend yesterday to lung disease. He had been a chemist for Rockewll for many years. We
know safety guidelines have become better over the years, but to late for some. He and his wife Jeri were friends and mentors to many in our church. They met with my husband and I when we went through a rough time in our marriage.
They gave us love and support when we needed it the most. Renee and I visited them on Saturday. I was able to thank him, pray for him and say goodbye. I will miss him but I know he is in heaven and I will see him again.
Needless to say, I am just thinking a lot. I have been thinking about my priorities
in life and how I spend my time. Well I am off to watch American Idol from Tuesday and Survivor.

March 6, 2008 Todays Sayings: Busy with my family.
I look forward coming home from work each day to see the baby. I say hi to him and he smiles at ne which of course melts this grammas heart. I already have these pet names I call him like Bugaboo and Bapas.
It is specail to see how my husband talks to him and how the baby interacts with him. I am watching American Idol and Asia is singing her farwell song. I wanted her to stay. But that is how it goes. Now we are down to the 2 guys. Danny is crying and he is leaving. I liked the way he rubbed Simon and his unique stlye but it was time to go. Well I think he made a name for himself. Poor Ramiele was really crying to see her friend go. I guess that is a good thing, people getting know people who love to sing. Hey, I love to sing, but it sure is not my thing! Well wait, my grandson likes when I sing to him.
It was cold and foggy this morning. I felt sleepy all day but luckily I had so much work that I the time went by quickly. I went out to lunch after work to a aplce tht makes a good chicken tortilla soup. Then I went to Target to develop some pictures. Rather I printed out some pictures at the digital printing kiosk. I remember the days I had to take a roll of film to a photo processing place and wait up to a week to get my pictures back.
Today I came home from work and Edward was washing Renee's car so I asked if we would wash mine too. After holding the baby awhile, I went upstairs to take a nap. After dinner, we watched Survivor. This is our 2nd season watching it and I wonder if they have past seasons on DVD. Andrew and Marina are making an offer on a house this weekend that is in our area which has easy access to the freeway. That is a good thing because like us, they work in Orange County.
Renee went on a girls night out with Marina. Edward is sitting with the baby who is getting pretty easy now. He doesn't cry as much as he use to. He is such a joy to our lives. Well I am off to blog hop a bit. Have a great weekend!
We have had beautiful warm weather and it will continue into next week. I was able to finally get out to the spa and it felt great! The baby has actually been wearing onesies and going barefoot. I am really enjoying him and the colic is getting much better. He turned over on Saturday and he loves being in his entertainment center. He smiles more and laughs a bit too. Of course he is sleeping less in the day but longer at night. That is good because Renee is taking her first college course online. I need to load some more pictures on the baby site. Here are a couple for now.
The days are going by so quickly. I am enjoying my grandson. It brings back the memories with my babies. Eddie rolled over today. More by accident than anything. He is at the point where he lifts his head up and his legs and he acts like he wants to crawl. He is talks a lot in the morning and has the cutest smile now. He keeps his mom busy for sure. I try to help out when I can so she can study. We went to house warming today for the son of our friends Kevin and Kelli. Our son Andrew graduated the same year as their son Andy. Tomorrow we are going to a baby shower in Sun City. But it will be pouring tomorrow. I hope to get back to watch the Oscars. I am in bed sitting crossed legged and Reina is curled in the middle as I type away. It is her time alone with me. This morning Renee brought the baby to us and Reina did really well with him. Have a great Sunday! Hugs

~Eat Your Veggies~
By the way...What's your preference...
green beans or green peas?
carrots or cucumbers?
corn or black-eyed peas?
broccoli or brussel sprouts?
potatoes or asparagus?
cabbage or spinach?
zucchini or cauliflower?
radishes or sweet peppers? neither
Wow, I just finished watching American Idol and Michael Johns was my favorite, I also liked the young 16 year old David Archuleta. I liked David Noriega's reaction to Simon Jason with the dreads was ok and I love his blue eyes. I liked the guy that sang One is the Loneliest Number, but hey, it was 60's night. I was in Jr high in the late 60's. The carefree easy life. To young to really understand the Vietnam War but into the fads of the time. OK, now for the girls. My hand is much better. Just a little brusing and stiffness. Renee rregistered for college and is taking psychology online. Now if baby will let her get her homework done. On the baby front, baby Eddie wants to sit up. Whether it is in his reclining swing or bouncer, her is trying to sit forward. He wants to be up and looking about. Hi s poor Mama is going to be busy!

Things have been a bit depressing the past couple of days and I am feeling a bit blue. Nothing major, but just there. Doesn't help that I watched Lifetime tv with Renee today and the shows were sad. A show about a crazy babysitter and a movie about a women with Alzheimers starring Mia Farrow and Martin Sheen. The baby was really coliky tonight so I helped out until he went to sleep and then I came up to bed. I do enjoy having my laptop.
I enjoy the sanctuary of my room. I am thankful that I have a day off tomorrow. I was happy to have lunch with my parents yesterday. They were down showing houses to my son and his wife. The good priced homes are going fast. It is a buyers market for sure! I am going to get to bed early tonight and sleep in as long as I want. Then I plan to soak in the spa tomorrow. Rest is all I need and a little quiet time with my God.
~"Souper" Bowl~
~Duos~
By the way...What are 2 things that...
make you happy? Being a Christian and my family.
you can't wait for? Retirement and heaven
drive you crazy? not enough sleep and my neck injury
encourage you? My faith and family
make you sleepy? not enough sleep and depression
make you sad? when my kids hurt and my mom having Alzheimers
you dread doing? getting up at 4:30 each morning for work
you wish you had? no mortgage, and no bills
you'd like to give to others? God's love and friendship
you plan to do today? Today I went to church, had lunch with my
family and husband's family and watched tv at home with Renee.
I got my soft cast off and it was a sprain and not a break! So now I just have mild pain and I am exercising my hand. My ring finger is still sore and stiff and I have some brusing left. We got Renee's computer all set up only to find that it is not working. She downloaded something and it does not work. So now she has to take it back to Cliff, my friend that fixes computers. Renee took the baby to my work for a visit on Wednesday.
I hope everyone had a nice Valentines Day. I did. Hubby took me to Casa SevillaFriday I had another Dr appointment to discuss my shoulder neck problems. It is all the result of old work injuries and arthritis in those disc. So he is sending me to physical therapy. Renee, and Jr took me and then we went shopping at Sams and we had lunch at Islands. Friday evening we went to a surprise birthday party for my cousin's husband. It was a nice time to food and fellowship. Today we went out to lunch with my parents and then we looked at 2 houses. They were both nice but we were to late and they just had sold. They were both $300,000. I know they will find something. I will be back later to do my Sunday Meme.
We have had warm weather the past few days. I need to unpact cooler pj's and
get out some cooler clothes. Of course as soon as I do, the weather will change again.
Saturday was baby sitting day and it went well. After his second morning nap, I found a
cute onsie outfit for him and grandpa helped me change him. It's kind of hard to do things with one hand.
I put his matching hat and of course I just had to take lots of pictures.
After his walk, Renee got home and we took the desktop computers to my friend Cliff.
Then we headed to Ontario to check out Baby's R US. Renee got the baby a new bath tub. We checked
out the activity centers. There were so many of them. She wants this 3 in 1 that goes from infant to toddler.
Here is the link I got him a lullaby cd toy for his car seat.
He sure did enjoy his bath that evening! I finally got in the spa and had to keep my hand up.
Baby Eddie turned 3 months on Sunday. He and his parents were all dressed in yellow. I took lots of pictures
after church and then we headed to lunch. Then we joined Andrew and Marina and my parents. Andrew and Marina
are house hunting. My parents are realtors and dad had founf listing for homes in the $300,000 range.
Prices have dropped about a $100,000 the past year. So hopefelly they will be in a house this summer.
We just got home from work and my internet went on. So I see I have access outside thehouse too!
tap the picture below to see the rest of the pictures from this weekend.
My Dr called yesterday from her home. She was off work this week, but checked her me
messages and saw I had left a few messages. Radiology said no fracture and
I was relieved and could I get the splint off. She said she was referring me to
ortho so they could decide what they want to do. She wants them to look at the xrays one more time.
So I will be one handed awhile longer which is aggravating my right shoulder, neck and hand.
I got my ortho appointment for Tuesday So I will miss 2 days of work next week for dr appointments.
We watched Survivor last night. Survivor China was the first season we saw so we do not know who the new characters are except James and Amanda. I missed most of American Idol on Wednesday. I just forgot because I was busy after taking a long hot bath with my bad hand up and out of the way.
The weather has been sunny and warm and it will be nice this weekend. We will be watching the baby and plan to take him to the park. Renee will be taking her admission test and going to orientation this Saturday for Jr. college.
She plans to start with computer courses. I am proud of her for wanting to continue her education. Renee and Edward have a lot of decisions to make. I enjoy hearing her talk to her son and telling him she is going to
take care of him. It is hard for me as a mom to see her have to struggle. I trust God to meet her needs,

but I was not able to install my photo program on this computer with Vista. I will have to

Baby Eddie is really getting active now. I had to laugh when Renee called to tell me how he only slept for an hour in the morning. Turns out he is sleeping longer streches at night and waking up later. When he is awake, he loves to baby talk. He also looks from side to side and is holding his head up well. He also works hard at holding it up when he is on his tummy. It isn't new to me, but it is to Renee and she finds it amazing. She had Edward went to a baby dedication class at church and then they were going to work out so I have grandma duties. He is napping now. Ok, as soon as I said that he woke up and now he is changed and in his pack n play looking at his mobile.
We have a bread from the rain for a few days but the weather is cold for us. Bottle time, so bye for now.
It has rained most of the weekend and it is pouring now as I type. It is also windy and I would not be surprised if we lost power again like a few days ago. I saved all my picture and graphics files yesterday because my desktop computer is acting up and I think I may have a virus in it. I need to take it in to get serviced. I am so glad I got my laptop.

It has been raining hard off and on all seek. Yesterday I saw a doublerainbow and then it was gone when the rain began. There is a small break now this evening but another we storm has come in. This week we had more than than all of last year. This morning the freeway was really backed up. There was an accident this morning at the 91 freeway just before the 55. We had to take the toll road. Later we heard that 4 people died in the morning crash. We has snow in the mountains by our home. I hope to go skiing sometime this season.
It sure was nice to be off on Monday. I met my friends and we went to
the Ontario Mills to watch 27 dresses. It was a really good movie, we laughed
a lot. Renee saw it with Kaitlin on Saturday and my sister, neice and mom
saw it on Friday. I want to see Juno next. Edward stayed with Renee to take
care of her and the baby. She came down with a cold and stayed in bed.
Edward bathed the baby and stayed until they were both in bed. He is a good
daddy and a good boyfriend. There is talk of marriage, but neither of them wants
to rush. Edward has benefits with his new job, but neither are ready for such
a big step. I know it is in God's hands. My little girl has grown a lot since
becoming a mommy. I love my grandson and I want the best for him. Renee is still
sick so I had gramma duties. I love to sing while I rock him in the same chair I
rocked my 3 babies singing "Yes Jesus loves me, yes Jesus loves me, yes Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so."
Hi friends, We all have good days and bad days and I am thankful for each day.
I had a great visit with my family yesterday. We met at my parents and I passed out the pictures I had taken at Christmas.
We went out to BJ's to celebrate my sister Ann's birthday. Later,as I drove home,I opted not to meet my husband and son's
for dinner since I was still full from lunch. I got a chance to talk to Edward who was watching the baby while Renee was
with her friend Kaitlyn. This morning Renee and I visted Living Truth Chruch. Renee was a guest speaker there. She was
sharing on how Corona Life Services helped her out. The counselor Denise and another volunteer were there. Baby Eddie
was on his best behavior. After we left we got lunch and then headed to our church. After chrcuh we went out to lunch
with my inlaws and celebrated my father in laws birthday. His birthday but he paid for it. We had a nice time and I took pictures.
Now I am at home sitting ont he couch with my laptop. Hubby is snoozing next to me. I will be baby sitting soon so Renee
and Edward can go out with Kaitlyn and her friend. Kaitlyn heads back to UC Berkely
tomorrow. I am anxious to hear how Edward's first day at Disneyland turned out.

We had a nice time for my son's 27th birthday. We ate at a Hibachi/Sushi place close to out house. Daniel was able to take a long lumch as join us. We all had a nice time and made it home to see American Idol. I have been busy at work but have made time to walk on my breaks. Well I took 1 lomg break since I have been so busy. I was so tired that I fell asleep during American Idol. I took my laptop today and was able to work on my Bible study in the car. I am studying the names of God and that is the great thing on my mind. I was thinking about my trip to Alaska and how I kep thinking of my God the creator of all. I see so many things that make me think of God. Of course the recent thing was the birth of my grandson.
I will be watching him on Saturday evening so Renee can go to the movies with her friend who is home from college. I need to work on my study and then see how Edward is doing with the baby. Renee went to dinner with her friends. Renee and Edward are going out tomorrow with the baby and Jr and I will probably go out to eat too. I will leave you with these recent pictures.
I just updated my healthy blog. I am here in bed with my laptop watching Dance Wars. I am enjoying it. I like dancing. I decided to take a me day. I took a long hot bubble bath after dinner. Renee goes back to work in a few weeks and I will be watching the baby a couple of times a week. It will all depend on Edward's hours which he gets this weekend. So I am going to take advantage of some me days here and there. The weather was in the low 70's today and will be the rest of the week. I hope the winds will stay away. Tomorrow my eldest turns 27 and we are going out to dinner. I sure hope I can watch what I eat. Well I amd going to use my hand weights before I so to sleep. Bye for now.
I decided I needed to get healthy again. There is a link below to my healthy blog. I decided while I was on a pig out binge during the holidays and started Jan. 2nd. I had a physical which included a pap smear and breast exam. My dr evaluated my ongoing shoulder problems and referred me to physical medicine. I also had my mammogram. I still have to get my blood work and hope to get it his Saturday after a 14 hour fast.
Eddie is 2 months old today. He is getting big and heavy. Eddie's daddy Edward got hired at Disneyland Resort! He will be working at the Wine Country Trattoria at
California Adventures. It is one of his favorite places. Well Grey's Anatomy is on so I need to go.

I wrote this earlier today while I was at the Coffe Bean ttrying out my new laptop. I am on my desktop now
I did a lot of research looking for this computer and I got a good deal. I talked to friend and my computer guy. I finally got a
Toshiba. It has a lot of memorey, and the bells and whistles like a webcam and 4 ports to hook things up.
I love the 15.4 screen, but I am not use to the keyboard or layout, I really have to reach, or hold my hands in a different way. The keys feel real nice. I am sure it will take time to get use to it. I have 2 weeks to decide. if I can type things up while I am
away from home, then I can spend more time with the family.I also got a tilted lap cushion to elevate this
and I will have to use it because looking down is not good for my neck.I think I will need to get some sort of pad to put on this thing for my wrist. Or I need to type in a way that does bot put pressure on my wrist. Now I know why they call this a laptop. When I had this on the table, I was having to reach up.the keys seems farther apart too and I am not a typer. I know the basic layout of the keybaord,
but I sill have to glance down. I did get a trackball because it is what I have at home and at work.
It is much better on my shoulder. Hmm, I would suggest if you get a laptop, you sit down with someone elses first. Lesson learned.
Once Renee goes back to work, I will be watching the baby for awhile. We haven't worked out
the details, but it will be on the evening that Edward is working. I talked to her today and told her she needs to check out
alternatives and look into asistance. It would be okay if I was at home like Darylynn. BUt I am up at 4:30 and out the door at 5:20 because hubby starts work at 6am. I work from 7-1 and then I pick up hubby at 3 and then my cousin and we get home around 4:30. So it already is a long day for me.
As I approached the
end of 2007, I mentally thought of things I want to do. I listed them at a previous post.
I have started my reading through the Bible. Another thing was to get a laptop and here I am.
I am watching what I eat now and have cut out
sweets. Well I did mess up by eating some fruit gels.It is hard because I crave sweets. But each day is a new day. I would like to try skiing.
Just to day I tried it. I would like to visit a new place in CA.
The baby is getting heavy! And he wants to see everything. He moves his head from side to side pretty well.
We have fun watching him track things. I love his baby talk, his goo sounds and then he squeals.
He turns 2 months Thursday!Tomorrow is my Dr appointment. I dread taking my blood test because I did bad in the eating department.
I know the results are not going to be good and that will be a big incentive to get going. I better get going since I have a few things I want to get done before bed. Hugs
I finally went to the Drs yesterday and I have a sinus infection. I was suppose to go back to work, but when I woke up, the gland on my neck were hurting and my forehead hurt and my my nose was real stuffy again. He gave me a prescription and another medication for the rash under my nose.
I have another Dr appt. next Thurs for a physical and I will have my mammogram the same day. One way to get back to healthy living is to have a baseline to start out with. At least I had no unhealthy sweets. I did go in the spa today since the Dr. said the hot water would be good for my sinuses and raise my temperature up to help fight infection. I was in there for 30 minutes and it also helped my sore back. I went back to bed after that and read for awhile. I love the new reading siggy. I have started my Bible through the year reading and have a few that I am looking at. But for right now, I am reading up on laptop computers. There are so many to choose from. I did stop by Circuit City after my Dr appointment since it was a couple of blocks away. I did not get good sales help and I was not feeling well so I finally left. I get better service at Best Buy so I will go there next time to look. I will be babysitting tomorrow evening since Renee and Edward are going out to dinner and a movie for his birthday. So Tammy my friend, you share a birthday with baby's daddy. It is cold out now, around 42, cold for us and rain is expected for the next 3 days. I wish it would snow here, but it doesn't. Well I am going to stop rambling and get to bed. Hugs
