Today's Saying: God bless us as we start a New Year!

The last day of the year brought snow to many areas in So Ca that don't normally have it! So the kids took the grands to play in the snow, a short 30 minute drive instead of the 1 1/2 drive to the mountains. Here are their reactions.

They went around noon and it was bright and sunny

Eddie and Jazzy went later when it was colder.

There will be a few things I will be doing to start the New Year. I have picked my One Word for the year. I have chosen the word I will write more about it at my next blog post. Have a great day! Hugs.

Today's Saying: Play Day

I forgot it was Monday today. guess my mind is just behind! I have had a congested cough and though I really don't feel to sick, I am trying to take at east. Today I took my grandkids to a playdate with the kids that live behind us. I could have just left them there, but the mom invited me in and I stayed and we had a nice talk. We both graduated from UCI. She made me a cup of Chai tea and it was so good, especially since it is cold for us, in the 50's in the day and 20's at night. So I am enjoying another cup of tea and thinking about taking Christmas down, a little at a time. I am also thinking of my One word for the New year. While I am thinking, I will enjoy my decorations.

Today's Saying: Taking a day to rest is good

I am listening to Christmas music on Pandora and enjoying the quiet while everyone is out. I had lunch with my friends yesterday and it turned to be an all day event. I have a chest cold so I am using my Living Essential diffuser with Theives while I enjoy some Bengal Spice tea from Celestial Seasonings. Will be working on my Christmas pages today.

Today's Saying: Counting down to a sweet holiday.

I am relaxing in my dad's recliner watching Holiday Inn after watching the end of White Christmas. It makes me think of my parents. Today we went to my grand daughter's ballet performance. She was so cute. Afterwards we went out for lunch. Then off to the boutique. I wish I could say I made a lot of money, but by the time I bought several things from my cousin, I end up with about $40! I did get so many nice things for gifts. I lover her new scrubs and got some stocking stuffers and a birthday gift for my sister. We also bartered some items. She got several of my ornaments and we were both pleased! We both love gingerbread and she bought several for gifts. I sold a lot of baby Jesus wreaths and gingerbread ornaments. The grands all end up back at Disneyland. Here are few pictures.

Today's Saying: Preparations keeping me busy.

So like most people, I have been busy wrapping gifts. I have completed a few more crafting projects because I will be in another holiday boutique with my cousin Joanie. Today we got everything ready. I made us cute little gingerbread aprons to wear. We both are providing baked good, tea and coffee. We have been having cold weather for So California. Down in the 30's and 60's in the day. That is our winter weather. Having rain is an added plus and we really need the water. Well I better get going so I can wrap some presents. Please click on the graphic below to go to a page on gifts.

Today's Saying:

Several weeks ago the women in my life group made wreaths. It was the first time working with mesh ribbon. The girl showing us came over to see how our table was doing. She pointed out that I was not doing it right. I was on a role with the way I was doing it and so I told her I was okay with it and kept at it. She just said okay and then went on to the next lady. I use to be a perfectionist with certain things and I would have been flustered if I felt I was not doing it the "perfect way" But I was at peace about it and actually liked how it came out. So did everyone else. I took it home and added the bells. My husband really liked it and we hung it over the tv in the living room.

Today's Saying: Family day at Disneyland!

December 12, 2014
Today's Saying: Breakdowns....

Yesterday I decided to go shopping and on my way, my car started sputtering. It was like the Autopia ride at Disneyland. The car would slow and I would hit the gas and it would not go and then it would lurch forward and then feel like it was going to die. I was able to get it to a safe location. Triple A rescued me again and then the auto shop lent me a car again. My hubby met me there and then left back to his parents.

My father in law broke his hip a couple of months ago. He went to a rehab place, then to an assisted living place. On Wednesday he went on hospice and is at home now. My husband is spending lots of time there and I expect this is the way it will be. Prayers appreciated. We had a stormy night and rain all day. We really need the rain since California is in a drought. Though it is raining, tonight I am having dinner with my friends. Life moves on in spite of the breakdowns of life.

Today's Saying: Reindeer Fun

I mentioned that we went back to the storage and I brought a few more containers home. I was happy to find my Rodney and Rhonda Reindeer. I have had them since at least the 80's but could be earlier. We have put them in various places through out the years. Last night the grands watched Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and again at school. Sometimes it is the simple things that make the holidays special!

December 10, 2014
Today's Saying: Moving forward....

After my post yesterday, I went out to rake the leaves. I felt much better except it was so warm. After we picked up up the kids, we brought them home and they jumped in the pile of leaves. When I asked them to put the leaves in the trash, they said it was to hot! It was, so I had them go in for a snack. Later the other grands showed up so it was a busy night. I did manage to get the trees decorated and things boxes put away. Today I will work on more Christmas cards. Rain is coming in for Thursday and Friday so the winter weather will be back, yea!

December 9, 2014
Today's Saying: Falling a little behind.

I got enough sleep last night, but still feel tired today. I want to go out and rake leaves because the gardener is coming tomorrow. Raking leaves takes me back to my childhood helping my dad outside during the fall. I have lots of memories of having fun outside with my dad. I was a tomboy and loved to climb trees, skate and hang out with boys. I think part of the reason I feel blah is that I miss my dad. My grief counselor said there would be days like this. But I have to remember that life goes on.

Judy has been doing some graphics for me for my annual family Christmas page. Last night we were up talking about the page design and the time flew. Judy has helped me over the years with pictures and my dad was so thankful. I remember when he asked for a a particular photo for his montage and asked that Judy remove the background. She helped with several pictures and dad was able to see his almost completed montage before he passed. Well I am going out to rake the leaves now in our 75 degree weather. Hugs

Today's Saying:

We finally got our storage unit taken care of. A man was moving out of his and had 6 metal shelves that roll and he asked us is we wanted them. They are really sturdy and will be used for my crafts. It is time for me to get ready for church. I would like to leave a link to my page I made a few years ago called .Christmas Blessings

December 6, 2014
Today's Saying: Moving things here and there.
Christmas treasures everywhere!

We got the bigger storage unit and started transferring things on Friday. We have so many boxes of Christmas things. Remember I mentioned the missing cards and rubber stamps? Well I found them! I found a few other things and that made me happy. Today we will move the rest with lots of help. I will treat everyone to lunch, color my hair and then be ready to watch the grands for the evening. Maybe I will be lucky and get a pictures. I also added a few more quilt squares. Do you have one to share with me?

December 5, 2014
Today's Saying:Remember when we exchanged quilts?

I am updating the Christmas Quilt page at my Christmas site. So dig up your old quilts and send one to me if you want to be added and I will add it. Click on the quilt above to go to my quilt page.
Thursday we went to the storage place and got a bigger unit. We will move things on Saturday. This will help me by giving me room to actually work in there and downsize. I also got my first group of Christmas cards done and I will mail them out today. I also did some Christmas tree decorating while I enjoyed listening to Christmas music. I still need to finish adding some more decorations. Then I will be taking a few pictures to share. Hugs

December 4, 2014
Today's Saying: Getting some much needed rain.

It is pouring as I speak and we sure have needed the rain. The kids have been happy to use their umbrellas at school. It is a little harder for me because they can't go out to play when they come home from school and they sure are full of energy. Today I let them decorate their small trees and they need some more small ornaments.

I sill have not started my Christmas cards. I was updating my address list to run labels. My son and his girlfriend also brought back a couch and my dad's recliner from storage. It feels good to sit in it again. and the room in more cozy. Our house is officially off the market and I must have received over 20 calls from realtors that want us to list with them. We just want to enjoy the holidays!

December 3, 2014
Today's Saying: A little behind schedule but ok.

The grands have been busy the past few days. Eddie and Jazzy went to the Los Angeles Museum of Natural Science this weekend with their parents. They had fun and loved the dinosaurs. I went to Disneyland on Sunday with Audrina and I bought her an autograph book. She had fun getting signatures. It rained off and on but we stil had a nice time. While we were at Disneyland, Eddie and Jazzy decorated their tree. When I got home the main slim line tree went up but the lights would not work and I sure did not want to get a new tree. I went up to shower and when I came down, Daniel and Jr put on the lights I bought for outside. A little big, but it works.

We had more rain today and the grands got to use their new umbrellas. I had to go to Hobby Lobby again because the mini vine wreaths I ordered came in and they were half off too! I was all set to work on my Christmas list, but I could not find my labels from last year. So I spent a few hours recreating my list. So now I am behind again. I use to have them all done by Thanksgiving but at least they will be out. Then I can finish decorating the trees!

December 2, 2014
Today's Saying: It is starting to feel like Christmas!

The boutique and going to Disneyland set me back a bit as fat as decorating. But both were fun days. I enjoyed the cookie exchange and though I am not much of a baker, I will be baking with the grand this year. I made it to the post office today to buy my stamps and I will start writing out my cards on Tuesday. I did some more decorating today and the house looks much better. I got a cute ornament from Chatterbugs and card and another card from Danna that depicts her town. On Monday evening I was able to attend our Women's Christmas event at church and it was nice. Here is a picture of me with my friends Alice and Joanie.

Today's Saying: It's beginning to look like Christmas!

Well it is because of the decorating. The grands have been home from school this week and we have been busy decorating the house. They have their own tree and are excited about the stockings being hung. We added a Mickey one for Elijah. We had a nice Thanksgiving at my son's home, but I do miss having it with my siblings. After dinner I passed out an ornament to each child. I will post pictures later. It was near 90 today but the weather will be dropping in time for the holiday boutique. Tomorrow I will be sewing some pillows and shopping for my Christmas cards. I am looking forward to the Chatterbugs blog challenge.

Today's Saying: Prepared and thankful!

For the past few months, I had prepared to move and be settled in our new home. Today we had the sign removed and now I will focus on the Christmas season. But first we will celebrate Thanksgiving and be thankful that we have a comfortable home with lots of memories made. I will prepare my sweet potatoes and stuffing, recipes from my mom with my own touch added to it. Decorating for Christmas has begun and it will be more simple with emphasis on a country feel. I am prepared to enjoy this season with my family. I am almost finished with my crafts for the Christmas Boutique and I am pleased with what I have done. I am not sure what will happen in the new year except that we will prepare our house for sale and prepared for whatever God has in store for us. Happy Thanksgiving my friends!

Today's Saying: Enjoying a fall day.....

Feeling more relaxed now that we decided to take our house off the market. We still plan to sell, but we will wait until next year. Yesterday we went to the storage unit and took out some of our Christmas decorations. The whole experience was a bit comical, but I will leave out the details. I have been working on my crafts and thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas. The grands will be home next week for Thanksgiving break, yes a whole week. So we will start decorating for Christmas. We will start in the family room where the grands hang out. We will set up a tree and hang the stockings. I do have some Thanksgiving projects for them to do. Tomorrow my Bible study meets for the last time until the after the New Year. We will be having a breakfast potluck and do a Christmas craft. I need to get back to my crafting and Thursday night tv shows. I will leave you this picture of Jazzy and her friends at school after the Kinder Thanksgiving play.

Today's Saying: Thinking.....

Another Friday, the days go by so quickly now. I have been working on crafts for a holiday boutique I will be in at the end of the month. I do it more to express the creative side of me. Some women do it to earn the extra money they need for Christmas or their business. One thing we all have in common is the abilities that God has given to share with others. I was sitting at the table this morning listening to my Christian music on Pandora and wondering why I felt a bit blue. 2 years ago today we found out my dad was sick. I had noticed his weight loss over that past months, but they found fluid in his lungs and it was not pneumonia. To make a long story short, he died 3 months later. I miss him a lot and I miss our talks. But I know he is with the Lord and I will see him again. I know that what I feel is normal and I have to allow myself the feel.

Last weekend I went to an Essential Oils party at my sister's house. She has been doing this for a few months now. I have heard of these oils from my friends Judy and Pam. So now I am interested in it and just ordered a kit for personal use. Well I better get back to my crafting. Tag siggy below to comment.

Today's Saying: Happy 7th Birthday to my grandson Eddie!
So today we will be taking him to Disneyland.

My sister Ann will be joining us along with her two grandsons, Micah and Oliver. Later, hubby, Edward, Jazzy, Renee and a few others will join us for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney. Perfect fall weather is predicted! Christmas decorations are already up at Disneyland and the official holiday season starts on the 13th. Hubby and I went on Friday at it was 91 and we never made it into the park because our car broke down near the park. Luckily we have road service and got towed back to our city. Our car should be ready on Tuesday. I think we have had our last open house until after the new year. Tag siggy below to comment.

Today's Saying: Highs and lows

This weekend we had cooler weather and much needed rain. The high this week will be near 90. Thankfully, the nights are cooler. I know a lot of you have been praying about the whole house situation. We are going to have one more open house and then stop until after the new year. If a realtor wants to come and show it, ok, but I want to be free to decorate for the holidays. My husband spends a lot of time helping out his two parents and so he has little time to do anything but help out with the grands in the morning. The last time we sold a home, it was in December. You never know but it is in God's hands and I have no control. I have to remember that so I don't get depressed. I have to focus on the blessings I have now.

Meanwhile, I am busy crafting, because I am going to be in a holiday craft show at the end of the month. I can't believe we are in November already. We will be having Thanksgiving at my son's house again so that is one thing I don't have to worry about. Now if the weather would just cool down again, I could "chill"

Today's Saying: Thanks for the prayers.

My son Daniel is feeling a little better. He was at the emergency on Monday because he was in a lot of pain. They checked his blood and did an xray of his abdomen to make sure there was no bleeding since he had just had a colonoscopy. They gave him pain medicine and IV since he was dehydrated. I drove him home and then took Mel back to get his truck. He is on 2 medications for his colitis. He has had to cut out a lot of foods that cause irritation. I am so glad he has a girlfriend that is there for him. Pray for my daughter in law Marina too as she is suffering with a concussion for over a week. I went to watch the baby yesterday so she could go to the dr. Pray for baby Elijah too. He has lot of pain with his bowel movements and it breaks my heart to see him in pain. I suggested she contact the new pediatrician to discuss what they can do to help him. And finally, prayers for the house situation. We have a family coming back on Sunday for a second look. If they don't make an offer, we will think about taking the house off the market until after the holidays. Tag siggy below. Thank you friends!

Today's Saying: Another friend gone.

My friend Nancze passed away this week. We met online over 10 years ago in the country graphics community. We were also in a group called WAGOH. Women after God's own heart. She was only 66 but she had been ill for awhile. We never met, yet we were friends. We meet again someday in heaven. I am praying for her family and all us that miss her.

I have been super busy around the house, packing more things and cleaning. I will end with a couple of memes.
Here is a meme from Annie

Today's Saying: Left Behind!.....

It is Saturday morning and I was suppose to be at the Walk for Life in Corona. But was so tired and just needed a day to relax with the hubby. I donated my money for the cause so I am glad I can help out that way. Yesterday morning I went to my Bible study group and the topic was on marriage. Afterwards, a few of us went to see the movie Left Behind. It was a good action packed movie about what happens when the rapture happens and those left behind. It is based on the Bible when the church is taken up in the blink of an eye. I will see it again with hubby. Nicolas Cage is in the movie, Jordan Sparks and Lolo Jones have scenes in the movie too. After the movies I went to Michael's and picked up a few more fall items. Hubby picked me up and we went our for an dinner. Hubby and We are going to try out a new restaurant by our house and them maybe go to the movies. So I am off for the day. Have a great day!

Today's Saying: Chatterbug Fall Blog hop!.....

I love the fall season. My website has 14 pages filled with so many beautiful graphics and pictures. I packed most of my fall decorations for the possible move thinking we would have moved by now. I asked my hubby where the fall bins were and he said they were toward the back of the storage unit. Well there was no way I was not going to have some cute decorations. So I have picked up a few things over the past few weeks. I have found them all on sale(40-60% off) at Hobby Lobby, Michael's and Wal-mart. I usually decorate several rooms but I have to keep it simple. Even our realtors said it looked nice. I am just happy that I have these items to enjoy! Which one do you like best?

This little guy is just 4 inches high.

This is on the front door and about the size of a shoebox.
It is from Hobby Lobby. I love that store!

The flag is from Hobby Lobby and the owl from The Dollar Tree.

This was from Wal-Mart. Love how it looks hand crafted.

The vase was at the market in a color I can use all year.

I found this cute scarecrow and pumpkin at Hobby Lobby.
The scarecrow has leaves stitched on the legs.

The pumpkin is from Hobby Lobby.
I found these boxes 50% off at Michael's.

I got the changing light Mickey at Disneyland.

I hope you enjoyed your visit. Please come back to see my Fall Cottage.

Thank you Toni!

Fun day at Disneyland with my sister Ann and her husband Ernie.

Sept 24, 2014
Today's Saying: Fun now and planning ahead.

As I mentioned in my last post, my past weekend was fun and busy. Hubby and I spent a few hours at Disneyland, taking our time and looking at the Autumn decorations. We are going back again on Sunday and meeting up with my sister and her husband. We all have passes. The weather should be in the 70's and perfect. I am thinking of getting some Christmas gifts from there this year. They really have some cute things. I like to decorate a tree with just Disney Ornaments and I think they are here and not in storage. Anyone else thinking about Christmas?

My cousin is having a fundraiser holiday craft sale. She wants to make a donation to a battered woman's shelter. She has asked me to make some thing for this event which is to be held the first Saturday of December. So I have been going through my garage and have found lots of my crafting items. I will be busy with that, my Bible studies and the new fall tv line up. So what is your favorite show for this fall? Hubby and I like to watch Survivor which starts tonight! Off to dinner as my grand kids dad, Edward is making ribs! Here are a couple of pictures from Sunday.

Today's Saying: Happy Fall bring seasons of change!

So happy to have cooler weather and a hint of fall is here. Today is the first day of autumn and would have been my daddy''s 81st birthday. Today is also Renee's first day of work at St. Joseph's hospital in Orange Country. So Ampa took Eddie to school and I took Jazzy. We will both pick them up at 2:00.

I feel pretty good after the busy weekend. On Friday I went to my women's Life Group. It was a nice time of fellowship as we went over the questions from our past church service. We talked about Joseph in the Bible. Lots of bad things happened to him, but he was able to make the most of his life and forgive. He said that what man meant for evil, God meant/turned to good. We usually can't see the big picture while we are in a bad place. When my dad died, my heart was so broken and I wondered how I would go on. But thank God, time heals and now I am able to move on, enjoy time with my family and friends. There are still dents happening, but I can cope.

Later in the evening, I had the 3 older grands, scrap pictures of the day we went to the beach. They did really well for their first time. I plan to do this again. On Saturday I went to a women' autumn brunch with my cousin Joanie. They gave each woman a gift bag and used our tickets for a drawing. Joanie and I each won an autumn late candle. We also signed up for the Bible study. It means I have to get up early on Saturday's but it is another change I wanted to make. After the brunch, Joanie and I went to Hobby Lobby and and Walmart. We also had lunch together and talked about the things she wanted to do now that she is retired. On Sunday hubby and I went to the early service at chruch and then we went our for lunch and then to Disneyland for a few hours. It was a nice weekend and I got to bed early. The house is quiet and I plan to do to do my Bible study now. Have a great day. Hugs

Today's Saying: Happy 5 months to my grandson Elijah!

Yesterday I went to watch Elijah so Marina could take Audrina to an eyeglass appointment. I love when he tries to talk and smile more. He is also getting heavier and my shoulders are sore today. Audrina and I cuddled while he slept since the air was oh high. I am so lucky to have access to my grandkids! Afterwards, I went to Hobby Lobby to get a few more things on sale and today I got some more things at Michael's. I am going to be making some Christmas gifts and I am getting my supplies together. I got another fall item today since my stuff is in storage. I would not be able to put up a lot anyways since our house is still for sale.

I am all caught up with my Bible study and my Chatter home work and looking forward to doing more pages.

Today's Saying: Thinking about Christmas when it is over 100.

We have had a heat wave the past few days and yesterday it was 106. So my mind is thinking of Christmas. My cousin Joanie just retired from her job and I was able to go to her retirement party. It was really nice and I am glad I could go. Joanie says she wants to have a holiday boutique fundraiser at her house this year. She wants to support a battered wives shelter, since she experienced that with her past marriage. So she asked if I could go some crafts and it made me think back to when we were both in a craft show for St. Joseph's Hospital back in the late 1990's. We each made over %400 dollars! I think country craft items were more popular back then. I know I have craft things packed away, but I need to find them. I hope they are in the garage and not in storage. Joanie wants me to make some scrap pages to sell. I have few other ideas like my snowman sock ornaments. I plan to scrap today but for now I need to get ready for church. Happy Sunday!

Today's Saying: Good news and a visit to the past.

My daughter Renee got a job with St Joseph's Hospital in Orange Country. It will be full time with benefits. She had another offer in our city, but it was a desk job and she wanted to work with patients. So she will have to drive further to get her training as a medical assistant. This will be a stepping stone as she works towards her long term goal as an RN. We will be helping her with the kids most days. she starts on the 22nd which would have been my dad's 81st birthday. He was happy when she told him she was going to be a nurse. I did a page for her and it is linked below.

I started working on my grand daughters Birthday page and was looking for graphics. She had a mermaid party, but she loves Pandas. She must have over a dozen of them. The mermaid theme was great since it was around a pool. Daddy took her shopping at Toys R Us to get a dress and she came home with a Little Pony dress and a big panda! So then I though I would use the Panda Graphics from Karen at Daisy Dreams. So began the search, not just for her sets, but all the Pandas I had adopted from the adoption shops. I have my graphic cds dating back to around 2000. I wish I were more organized because I have to look in folders that are in folders. So I have been a little obsessive with the search and making a home for them on my site. I have done this with the Julie Bears and the Figs. There is a lot of satisfaction doing this because it reminds me of the fun busy days when we had websites and adopting from each other. I am sure we all spent a small fortune. At least I have enjoyed my website over the years!

Today's Saying: Happy Birthday to my son Daniel!

Audrina's party with her Mommy's family at Chucky Cheese.

I missed the birthday parties this weekend since I was away with my girlfriends. I really needed this time with my friends and we had a great time of relaxing and catching up on our lives. We had to leave a little earlier than planned on Sunday because of the thunderstorm coming in. I got drenched while loading up the car.

Because I have blogged over 12 years, I was able to go back and look at the past times we got together. We were able to scrap again and I have a scrapbook of all our little adventures. I am ahead of schedule with my Bible reading and just need to post. I still have to finish my Chatterbug homework, but almost done with it and glad I started ahead of time. I am also working on a birthday page for Audrina. I am also going to do a page that will have the archives to my past years post.

Today's Saying: Making changes....

As you can see I have changed my blog to school now Labor day has passed. When I was a kid growing up, we went to church camp every Labor day weekend. We stayed in family cabins when we were young and then got to to to the Jr high or high school cabin. The last time we went was in 1973. Lots of good memories. So now we are trying to create memories for our grandkids. I want to do more family pages here and I will slowly phase out my friendship pages. I redid my Chatterbug page and added my Bible study page for Blogging through the Bible. I also started moving pages from my Family page to my regular site map. I still have to do Audrina's birthday page. Here are a few pictures from our Labor day celebration and one from Camp around 1965.

As my dad loved to say, here are the new seniors.

Audrina with her cousins. Our kids took pictures on these steps.
This was once my parents house and my brother bought it.
So we still get to make memories here.

Today's Saying: Labor Day family time.

We had a nice time at Disneyland with Audrina though it was 88 degrees there. Better than home which was near 100. The park was not as busy as we expected but there were lot of out of town guest participating the Disney Walk for CHOC.(Children's Hospital Orange County) We had to park further away than usual, but got a free shuttle to the park entrance. Andrew met us there and we had our packed lunch which was pretty good and we plan to do that again. I had to take Ibuprofen a few times because my I woke up with an earache. But it did not stop us from going on the Grizzley Rapids Run twice. Audrina had lots of fun, especially since she got an Ariel doll.

Saturday I woke up with more pain so I end up seeing the Dr. and he said I had an external ear infection, so I left with antibiotic ear drops. I spent time working on my website, adding a page for my Blogging through the Bible study. I also worked on my Chatterbug pages and my Panda House. Today we are going to Audrina's Ariel birthday swim party at my brother's house. I will be making her a birthday page in the next few days. Meanwhile, I will leave with this picture we took after lunch.

August 29, 2014
Today's Saying: Hot fun in the summer time.

My son Andrew gets off work early today so he is going to meet us at Disneyland. We are taking Audrina with us today since her birthday is on Wednesday. Andrew's pass ends then and he is going to renew in a year when the baby is older and the whole family can go. Time to get ready!

Today's Saying: Life in Limbo?
(an intermediate or transitional place or state of uncertainty)

I talked to my realtor today. She asked when we wanted our next open house since this is a holiday weekend and we said no open house. When we put our house on the market, we had seen how quickly the houses were selling. We are not the only ones so now we have 5 houses for sale in our area and things are moving so slowly. The law of supply and demand is real. Prices are dropping. We were hoping our house would sell quickly and that we would have been in our new house by now. We went to one open house that we liked, and it is half the size of our home. We can't buy until we sell, so we are in limbo. We were told to "declutter" so we put a lot of things in storage. At some point we will have to go through the storage and decide what we want to keep and what we have to sell. All our fall decorations are in storage along with most of our Christmas items. Some thing we have control of and others we don't. So now we will have to decide what our next step is.

Today's Saying: Today....Taking a day to relax.

Yesterday we got our house ready for open open house. Then we headed to Temecula for a 80th birthday party. It was cloudy and warm when we left and started raining. We stopped at Costco's to get fruit. The party was for my brother in laws mom who lives with them. My sister said she was not only doing it for her MIL, she was doing it for dad. Our dad had wanted an 80th birthday party and we were discussing it at his 70th, but he died a few months later. So the grands enjoyed swimming a bit in the rain and playing on the trampoline. We enjoyed great food under canopies and the mariachi band that played music. We got back late so I did not post this yesterday. Time to get ready for church. Happy Sunday!

Finding a Willow Tree in an antique store at half the price!

I had lunch with my cousin Joanie yesterday and afterwards we went to the Corona Antique Mall. She has a space there and she was working on it. We were telling the owner she needed a Facebook page to bring in people. While I was looking around, I found the Sunshine willow and it made me smile. I was happy to add her to my collection!

Today's Saying: Introducing My baby ballerina!

My grand daughter is taking her first ballet class with 3 and 4 year olds. I am not a morning person, but I did get up early today to see Audrina at her class. Family sits out in the hall between 2 classes. Audrina was happy to see us there and she kept looking and we get smiling and cheering her on. They are not the best pictures, but they are great memories!

So happy to see us!

(I am on the left, reflected in the mirror)

Right before this picture was taken, Audrina was trying to figure
how to place the feet placecards. She end up doing the pose and
this picture is saying "is this okay?"

Here she is looking at her daddy and aunt Renee.

The assistant teacher placed flower bunches on the ground, and we knew Audrina would go for the purple ones. But just as she reached the bunch, another girl grabbed them. Audrina Looked at the bunch and found the color closest to purple. The girl who got the purple put them down to get another color only Audrina did not see that because she was looking at us. we were all pointing to the flowers and she was smiling. When she did turn around, she noticed the flowers and cautiously picked them up. Before she had to take them back, she ran towards us to show she got the purple flowers! I think I will get a little bunch if purple flowers to put on her birthday gift.

Today's Saying: Happy to see my blogging friends!

I am really happy to see people blogging again. Judy and I are one of the few people left with the old Country web homes where we keep our blogs. My site started around 2000, or maybe before. I use html to code my pages and once you get a few pages done, you just copy the format and change out the graphics. I enjoy using the many graphics I have. Most of the graphics artist are gone now but I know that many of us saved our graphics. I am happy to be a part of Chatterbug College, and I am working on my first homework assignment. Some of you may not know what this is all about. It started with Darylynn and I still have all my homework. If you click the sitemap link on the left, it will take you to my site map(listing of my many pages) On the right of the site map, you will see the link to my Homework pages. Some assignments were a few lines long and some turned out to be their own page with graphics to match. If you get a chance, visit a few for ideas. Have a great weekend!

Today's Saying: My Virtual Blog Day

Thanks to Annie and Melanie for inviting me to do this.

1. What am I working on? I will start this by giving you my creative back story. I have been working on various projects off and on the computer. When I was young, I did not think I was artistic. I knew I was more musically inclined. I learned that music inspired my creativity and I like details. When I was growing up, I always seemed to have a bulletin board that I decorated with poems, and pictures. Then I was in Jr high I started a scrap book of my school days that included pictures and awarss and even report cards. I usually was the historian in groups since I liked to take pictures and record events. When I took my first computer class and did word processing, I regretted not doing better in typing. I loved working on spreadsheets and creating special documents. I was able to use this to serve the women in church by handling the registration for various events. I created programs, sign up sheets and bookmarks. While doing this, I was also discovered the country graphics community. I loved learning how to put my webpages together and better yet, I met many friends. The country graphic artist brought life to my webpages. Scrap booking became really popular and I was able to use my computer knowledge to print things our to go with my scrapping. In 2007 my friend Tammy asked me to joining Facebook and play Farm Town with her. It was another way to be creative and eventually I moved to Farmville and I have played that for 5 years. Here is a picture of Jade Gardens farm at Farmville.

Now to the question, what am I working on. I sill am scrapping when I can, but my time is limited. Since we are in the process of selling our home, we hav to keep everything show ready. When I scrap, I tend to use the whole dining room table since I don't have a craft room anymore. Here is a sample of a simple 8x8 page I recently made. It sits in a frame on the table next to the grandfather clock my parents gave us one Christmas. I did the wording on the computer. It says Time is not measured in minutes. It is measured by a lifetime of memories. I made it up to go with the picture.

I do like to work on my web pages and I am currently working on a project of some summer memories.I have to go back to other pages I did for Darylynn's homework with that title. You can find that at my site map. The only other things I am doing is organizing and packing.

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre? I have looked at a lot of blogs and I still like to use the country graphics. I write things mostly about my everyday life and it is my online personal journal. I love to include lots of pictures and I have over 200 pages at my website.

3. Why do I write/create what I do? I like to journal and I have saved all my blog entries over the last 12 years. My goal is to print everything out to save for my kids. I like going back and reading were I was at a certain time. I like using the graphics to express what I am writing.

4. How does your writing/creating process work? Most of the time I will have a topic in mind and then search for the graphics I want. Sometimes I have found certain graphics that I loved and then had to find a poem to go with it. A few times I put a page together that needed specific graphics and I made my own using the pictures of my topic. Below is a link to a few pages I have created that I want to share.

This is a page I made as a scrap page after I did it here. Laguna Woods

I love to read so I did this page. My Library

I saw these graphics first, then found a poem to go with it. Footsteps

This is a page I made and asked Judy to do the graphics for me. Disneyland 2010

Finally, if you go to this page, Our Family my vacations pages will be listed on the right. When I come back from vacation, I put my web pages online first to share with you. Then I go back and scrap them.

Sorry if this is long. It was nice to do and I will announce who will be doing this in a day or so. If you want to know just let me know. Please leave a tag.

Today's Saying: Needed a day to play.

Life has been so busy these past few weeks and I was actually losing weight and sleep. I needed to lose a few pounds so I am okay with that. I just needed to get my mind off the house. My late night Word with Friends friend Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer and I was praying for her. Then she got an a car accident. I hurt for her and been thinking how life if so fragile. I decided I needed to relax and I today I took a me day.

Just did a little cleaning and gave the kids lunch.

Then left and did several hours of shopping at Hobby Lobby and Kohls.

I should wear a pedometer when I am shopping because I go around around the whole store a few times or more. I got one sheet of scrap paper. I got a few other items for scrapping. Then I stopped for a light lunch and then headed to Kohl's. I was there for 5 hours! I tried lots of clothes on a spent a lot of time in the house wear section getting ideas for our next house. I did not like the sale they had where you buy one and get one for 1/2 off. When I got to the check out I found out there was no coupon to use and the 20% starts tomorrow. So I asked them to hold my stuff until tomorrow and Renee and I will go back.

I am watching my shows, Black Box, Rookie Blue and NY Med.

At bedtime I will read off my Samsung reader.

Finally I will say my prayers.

Today's Saying: Going for the green
after the red, white and blue.

We went to my sister's house on the 4th. The drive over there was a little hard as I was thinking of the many trips to visit my parents. I was okay when I got to my sister's house, formerly my parents. It has been nice watching the changes my sister has made to the house and I know my dad would like it. I know he would be happy knowing we were having fun and creating memories for the grand kids. I will be doing my virtual blog tour next week.

3. Favorite Tastes? Home made tacos, creme brulet.

4. Favorite Sounds? A Newborns cry, my grand kids laughter, ocean waves and wind chimes.

As I have mentioned before, we are trying to sell our house. We had it landscaped to be water wise. But we think that most prospective buyers want to see the green and so do we so are putting in grass. We already had the trees cut back which was a major job. This is the work so far. Next post I will have pics of the grass.

Today's Saying: Getting Ideas and having fun.

On Friday I met with my Bible study group for our last official meeting. Kari set a table for breakfast tea, we muffins and jam and scones. Then she shared pictures of her trip to Scotland and England. I had to leave early to take Jazzy to her last day at preschool which was Hawaaian theme.

Our house has not sold yet and I think because there are too many houses for sale now our area. So we will have to lower our price and do some yard work that was needed anyway. We have a side hill and the trees and shrubbery have overgrown. We were working in the yard on Friday when a tree trimmer truck went by. We flagged them down and they will cut back the overgrown trees and shrubs. We will also be putting in grass. So hopefully this will help. Most people will put money into upgrades if the yard is done so we will see. The more we do, the more I just want to stay here.

During our open house on Saturday, we went out to lunch with Daniel and Melinda. Later we went looking at houses in our town to get an ideas of prices. So we do have a better idea of where we want to buy. We headed to Disneyland after church.

Mema and Elijah with our Mickey shirts.

Today was Jazzy's graduation ceremony from preschool. It was held at our church for 3 community YMCA programs and it was super crowded! There was lots of picture taking and then Jazzy said she wanted Chinese food for lunch. When we came home we played Disney Monopoly. It was a fun family weekend.

Today's Saying: Toni's Summer Meme.
Toni's Tuesday Meme

1. As a child I loved to play...? Jump rope, tether ball, jacks and hopscotch. I had a lot of friends that were boys so I also liked to climb trees, race bikes and play hide and seek.

2. As a child I wanted to grow up to be...? An astronaut, a scientist, a doctor, writer, I also wanted to be a mom.

3. As a child my favorite thing to eat was...? Chocolate donuts from the Helm's man. They would drive down the street with their panel truck. Ice cream on sugar cones from Thrifty's Drug Store, now a Rite Aid. Back then it was a nickel for a single, dime for a double and 15 cents for a triple. I think a singles is over a dollar now. I loved my mom's tacos and my grandmas freshly made tortillas with fresh butter. Yummy.

4. As a child my favorite relative was...? I was close to my grandparents and have lots of good memories with all my cousins. 4th of July was always a big fun family event!

Today's Saying: Music fosters memories.

For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed music. I also like how certain songs bring up distinct images from the past. Certain kid church songs take me back to my early days of Sunday school. patriotic song makes me think of marching out the living room as kids in the 60's. Another song makes me think of my grandma Chona. Carole King makes me think of my mom and Frank Sinatra makes me think of my dad. This past Sunday hubby and I went to see Jersey boys. I think I quietly sang along to all the songs in the movie. One song in particular makes me think of my hubby and our early dating months. Hubby and I are going to be married 40 years. Imagine after 40 years and still remember the words.

When I was pregnant with my son Andrew, I played a musical ornament that my parents gave us. After he was born, I played it and he would turn his head to the sound and I knew he recognized it. I played classical music for him too and to this day he likes classical music and loved the sound tract to like I do. He is very much like me. Music has always spoken to my soul. I would think, they are singing just what I feel. Music paired with learning is an added plus. I learned the books of the Bible with songs. Music is powerful.

I remember driving around with my dad his last couple of years and he would tell me what he was doing when a certain song came out I sure wish I had written it down. We played a lot of my dad's music while he was bedridden. His last hours were filled with his music. I played the old hymns we listened to at church long ago. The hospice nurse said that sound was the last sense to go. I like to think that music was the first thing my dad heard as he left to heaven. "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound."

Today's Saying: Out with old and in with new.

We had a great weekend. Hubby and I went to the movies on Saturday during our open house. We saw Maleficient and we thought it was very good. We saw a preview when we were at California Adventure a few weeks ago. Jazzy and Eddie were a little afraid but keep asking to see it. We did not take them since we needed time alone. I think they would have bad dreams if they saw it because parts of it are a bit scary for young kids.

Before we left for the movies our realtor said she was surprised that our house had not sold yet. She suggested we make the living room look larger by removing a few things. So while we were eating dinner after the movie, we decided to take out the big old box Tv and get a new Wide screen tv. We also talked about removing either the couch or piano. After church on Sunday we went to Best Buy and hubby picked out a his new toy.

Andrew and Marina came over with the kids and we had a nice bbq. Edward cooked steak, chicken, and corn on the grill. Andrew cooked asparagus. Renee made mash potatoes and I made a green salad. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather. I rocked the baby while Marina ate. I love holding him. It is nice to have all the grands together. Audrina does not come over during the week now that Marina is home. Audrina goes to preschool for 3 half days at our church. It works out well because I take Jazzy to preschool for the rest of the month. Eddie likes to play Ninja Turtles on Nick Jr.

Hubby and son were busy today moving things out. Daniel put the huge TV in his room. It looks really large in his room but it makes him happy. They also took the couch and large coffee table and put it in storage. While they were gone I was busy using my Hoover Floormate. Later I got in the spa with the kids. Might as well enjoy it before we move.

Today's Saying: Cleaning is exercise
but not fun like zumba.

I joined a Bible Study group for the summer and we decided to add some fun thing to do after our study. Our leader asked us what our passion was. Mine is scrapping so I brought in supplies and we scrapped. Libbey, invited us to her Zumba class and what a workout but what fun. Afterwards we went out for some frozen yogurt. I am going to try and go to Zumba once a week at the Women's Senior Center. We will be doing another craft and get a lesson in juicing.

Renee has finished her classroom instruction portion of her medical assistant program. Now she is doing the internship part at a pediatric group. So now we will be watching the kids in the day which is much easier to do. Audrina is staying with her mommy now that Marina has decided to stay home. She will be going to preschool 3 mornings a week at our church and she loves it. I am blessed with my family and now we need to sell this home.

Today's Saying: Endings and Beginnings

Hard to believe my grandson Eddie has graduated from Kindergarten already! When Mrs. Johnson presented him with his diploma she said he was special because he was her first "second generation" child to graduate. She explained how Renee was in her first kinder class. I had given Renee the picture of her and Mrs. Johnson together and so I had to take this picture. It saddens me that Eddie and Jazzy won't be able to continue at Prado View when we move. It is a great school and ranked as one of the top in top in our city. But we have to move and Eddie will do well wherever he goes. He reads at a second grade level and excels in all he does. Jazzy graduates from her preschool at the end of the month and she has really grown too. Audrina just started preschool at our church that just opened up a preschool program called Bright Beginnings. Our church is called New Beginnings so it is a great name.

We had fun at Disneyland yesterday though it was quite warm, 86. Hopefully we can go again at Christmas. We were able to take the kids 3 times for $159 for the 3 days. Disney has raised their prices again and it they don't have that special, it is too expensive to go often. Our annual passports went up to. But for now we made some great memories. Now I just have to scrap them.

I decided to renew my hosting service one more time. My website is huge and I am going to slowly take down pages and keep it more family than friendship. I am saving the written part and plan to scrap things that I want. I still plan to blog here and then eventually will go to my blogger site.

Our house has not sold yet. We have decided not to actively look for houses until we do. Meanwhile I am slowly packing and trusting God to work this all out. Meanwhile we will enjoy out home here.

Today's Saying: Fun and Freedom go hand in hand.

Yesterday hubby and I took Eddie and Jazzy to California Adventure. We were there for 11 hours! It was not to busy and we got fast passes for a couple of the rides. We love Cars but Eddie and Jazzy did not like the racers part of it. They did enjoy Soaring Over California so we did that twice. The Aladdin Show was great and they really enjoyed it. It it s live musical production 45 minutes long. The Jeanie steals the show with all his funny jokes taking from current news bits. Today I was so tired and achy. I made it to my Women's Bible study and then I took a 3 hour nap. We got back tomorrow to Disneyland. We got a special 3 day pass for $159 but they have to be used by June 6.

Today's Saying: Happy Belated Mother's Day!

Link to Tea pictures on the left.

I had a nice relaxing Mother's Day. We went to church, then grabbed lunch at KFC. Renee wanted to know what I wanted and I wanted a bbq for dinner. So after lunch, I played on the computer, then took a nap. Just after waking up my daughter comes rushing in to say a realtor with clients wanted to see the house. He called while I was asleep so I did not get the call. Luckily that house was pretty tidy and they saw the house. Hubby made bbq chicken and steak. Andrew and Marina ca,e over with the kids and we took a few pictures and had dinner. I was busy trying to look at both cameras and did not really smile, but I was happy to get all our grand kids together in a shot with us.

I will be busy keeping the house ready for visitors and open house. I have also started packing kitchen and crystal. We took a big load to the Salvation Army and I know we will make more trips. Next week we have open house on Saturday and Sunday. Last Saturday we went to the Orange Circle after visiting the cemetery. We had an amazing dinner and desert at Francoli Gourmet Emporio.

Today's Saying:
May the 4th(Force) be with you!

Just had to use my Leia that Sadie made. I will post again on Monday with pictures from the tea. Today is our first open house and we have been busy all week. My house looks really nice now. Glad we are still here to enjoy it!

Today's Saying: For Sale......

I can't believe how quickly the days are going by. We have been busy cleaning and the house looks really nice. On Thursday our realtor Della came over and we signed a million papers to put our house on the market. Our first open house is Sunday, May 4th. The sign isn't even up and we have 2 people coming to look at our house on Saturday. So now we need to look for a house. We want a single story with at least 3 bedrooms. We would like a big kitchen and it does not have to be perfect because we can remodel it. We love our city but it is expensive. Wwe are open to the cities nearby so we are close to our kids, hubby's parents and our church. So needless to say, we are busy busy busy!

I have also gone to help Marina out 3 times this week and I mostly just held Elijah. I love the little faces and sounds he makes as he sleeps. I also like talking to him as he tries to open his eyes and look around. He is so beautiful! My grandkids are my world. I am hoping the next house has a yard we can put a swing set in and we hope to get some type of playhouse too. I want them to have good memories like I have of my grandparents.

Today's Saying:

It is a beautiful spring day today, low 80's, and breezy. We went to church and then home to relax. Well kinda, I started packing things today after I took a lot of things out of my China cabinet. Our realtor Della is coming over on Thursday. Saturday we went to the Easter picnic and saw the grandkids collect eggs and have fun with the activities. I enjoyed a hot dog and the kids enjoyed some goodies too. Our church does this every year and it is opened up to the community.

I got to spend 2 hours holding Elijah on Friday and I will be going over this week too. Audrina looks like Andrew and Elijah looks like his mommy. I will be making him a page but I will post pictures here for now. Our Easter dinner will be quiet since Daniel is working and Andrew and his family are resting at home. I miss the rest of my family but I know they are all celebrating with their families. We will get together for Memorial Day.

Today's Saying: Happy Memories.
Thanks to Annie for this Meme.
Childhood Memories :
1 What is your most vivid memory from childhood?

When I was about 4, several of my friends were playing in my backyard. They were all boys. We rode our bikes all over but we would go in my backyard because I had a playhouse, well clubhouse. I remember that they had to pee and they all went to the back of the house and peed and I watched. I was not a happy camper. Not because of what they did, but because I could not pee like them. I had to go in the house and sit down. I don't think I ever told my parents and I only remember that one time.
Or perhaps if none are vivid, what was your happiest?
I was happy when I was at my grandparents backyard with all my cousins.
Yes I loved being outside riding my bike, later skates and later a Red Derby Skate board.

Can you tell I was a tomboy? The girl on the right is my sister Terry.
Dad is taking the picture. We moved to a new house when I was in first grade.

I was about 10 in this picture. I loved riding my bike all over.

3 What games did you play outside? Hide and Seek, baseball, basketball, tetherball.

5 Was there a special meal you liked for dinner as a kid?
My mom's tacos. It was ground beef with potatoes. It was one of the first things she taught
me how to make. I made some this week for my family. It was her family's recipe.
You can find the recipe at the link at my site map.

6 Did your family go on trips or vacations? Do any stand out in your memory?
Yes camping in the valley of Yosemite. I don't have any pictures,
but we did see some movies on the anniversary of my dad's death.
We saw lots of home movies of Easter, Christmas, birthdays.
I will have to find some to post later.

I have been busy still de cluttering. I am also getting out more with friends. Friday I had breakfast with a lot of friends from church. Saturday I had lunch at Olive Garden with Alice and Olivia. Sunday after church we went out to lunch with Andrew's family and their realtors, Later we went to look at the house they will be leasing. It is huge and hopefully the baby will be on time and not early. Today I had lunch with my cousin Joanie. Tonight I am going to Women's Fellowship at church.

Silly girls.....

Today's Saying: April Showers brings May's flowers.

We have had some rain and earthquakes. I like the rain but do not like earthquakes. They are so unnerving since there is no warning. But they are a part of nature that can't be controlled. We are expecting rain tonight and I sure hope we get it because California did not get enough rain this year and food prices are already going up. Renee and I went shopping and stocked up on a few things. We have been busy packing and cleaning. The new carpet for the bedrooms goes in on Thursday so everything has go go out and into our bedroom. Renee has added a lot of things to the give away pile. I have been sorting too and it is so tedious but much needed. At least I can have my IPhone playing the music I like.

I also have been busy reading. I finished another book on my IPhone and have started another one about a man's visit to the gates of heaven. I am also reading a book called Lahaina which the historic whaling city of Maui. I sure hope I get to go back someday and visit 2 more islands. I am not sure if we will be able to take our East coast vacation this year since we will be moving. We will have to wait and see before we make plans. I am also going to need my own car in the future. Hubby and I share, but he will get busier with his parents and I need to get out and about too.

Finally, did you get fooled today? Renee fooled me. She said that Jessica called to say they were at the Drs and Marina was at 8 cm. Then after I jumped off the chair, she said "April Fools!" All is ok and the baby is around 6 1/2 pounds. Andrew was 8 pounds 7 ounces so I am not surprised. Elijah is due April 24th. What do you think? I am off to pay some bills now. Have a great week. Hugs

Today's Saying: "You don't stop laughing when you grow old;
you grow old when you stop laughing." George Bernard Shaw

I really love this saying. The Bible also says that laughter is good medicine and so true. Thursday the 20th, we went to Eddie' open house. He has the same teacher his mom had for kinder. Friday the 21st I saw God's Not Dead with a few friends from church. Sunday I went to Disneyland with my son and Audrina. I went again on Tuesday(25th) with a few friends from church. I had a lot of fun and we got on a lot of rides. I have been super busy. I finally finished the baby shower pictures and the link is on the left. I have been going to physical therapy and I also had my eyes checked. I really like my eye dr. My vision is worse, but my cataracts are about the same. Time to get new bifocals. We have also been busy around the house and a lot is getting done. It is late but I did not want to get to bed without updating my blog. I worked on the spring theme today. We are finally getting much needed showers. Here are a few pics from Disneyland. We went for Olivia's birthday, but first we met with several friends for breakfast.

Today's Saying: Boy am I Busy!

Monday I went to a special event at my church. Each woman received a pearl from the table hostess. The speaker told us what a pearl goes through to become a pearl. It was good to be out with other women. I also went shopping before the event at Kohls. I got a new top and an outfit for my grandson who is due on the 24th of April. The baby shower is on Saturday and we have been busy making the decorations. Marina showed me something she liked from Etsy and I ordered the digital set. Is here a what the invitation looks like. Isn't the little elephant cute!

I have also been busy going through boxes and old bills and getting rid of a lot of things. Hubby is more than happy to make trips to the Goodwill! He is also happy to see his garage organized. We did rent a storage unit to store our Christmas boxes and some furniture. So you can tell we have been busy!

My physical therapy appointment is tomorrow. I should have scheduled it for after the shower because I know I will be really sore. My daughter Renee is doing really well at her medical school. I got her a Stethoscope/blood pressure kit which she will need for her intern portion of her class.

My next post will have pictures from the baby shower.

This week I found the last Valentine's Day card my dad gave me. I set it up next to my table lamp. But I have my eternal Heavenly Father. This is what He tells us.

I just finished a book on my Kindle that is not listed on the right which are regular books. It was a great love story and you can read about it at the link below. Good deal for $1.99

Today's Saying: Happy 1 year in Heaven Daddy!

Edward had to work. Daniel and Mel leaving to work.

I know my dad and mom would be so happy knowing we all got together today. We met at the cemetery and took pictures. My brother talked about how rough the last night was with dad and then how hard it was when dad died. But that because of our faith, we would see him again. Yes the year was hard as we grieved, but we made it through the year. There was lots of food and the kids had fun playing. My brother Scott showed home movies of when our parents took us to Yosemite, the snow and our trips to see Terry in Denver. Also of Christmas and Easter at our grandparents yard. Scott brought us all together and we prayed to thank God for you and mom. To remember that we will all be together soon. Until then we will continue to stay close as our families grown and remember our mom and dad.

Today's Saying: Enjoying my princesses.

Saturday was a fun day at Disneyland. Hubby and I went with Andrew and Audrina. At one point Andrew and Hubby-Jr. went on the Indiana Jones ride and Audrina and I headed over to California Adventure to ride on the Ariel ride. Audrina is very animated, the way I was when I was a child. Even my dad said she reminded him of me. Every child is unique and special. Jazzy is like her mom Renee. Slow to warm up to people. Serious at times and silly at other times but I think she gets that from her dad. I had 2 movie tickets and decided I wanted to take her to see the movie sing a long frozen. She thought I was taking her to preschool. She was very serious about my going the wrong way. Once she saw the exit, she asked if we were going shopping. Then when she saw me turn by the movies, she asked if we were going to the movies and then she started asking if we were watching Frozen. She was so happy, skipping and smiling. We got our tickets and our popcorn and hotdog. It was nice to see hear enjoying the music though she was so shy about the singing. She was very animated at the end of the movie. In the evening, hubby set a fire and Eddie and Jazzy and hubby and I watched Cars 2. Friday we are going to the Family movie night at church.

Jazzy at the movies with the outfit Judy gave her.

Today's Saying: Thinking of my dad.

A year ago this Friday, my dad called all his kids into his room. He basically gave us his blessings. He told us how much he loved us and how proud he was of us. He said he was happy to see all his family close and for us to stay that way. We all got to say how much we loved him and how good of a dad he was. He then held out his hand and he we all took his hand/arm and dad prayed for us. I broke down crying and my brother was just rubbing my shoulders. I knew my dad had finally accepted his near death. I hated to see how the disease ravished his body and how he had aged so much in a few weeks. I am so glad I was able to spend those last weeks taking care of him. I am also glad that my faith assures me I will see him again. I still miss him so much, but the pain is not constant anymore. I am trying to live my life knowing it would be what he would want. It is also what God wants for me. One thing that makes me smile is my dad always calling me his curly hair little Susie. Even to the end, he called me that. He always accepted me for me. I am also glad that I eventually saw a grief counselor to help me with the pain. She said it was important to allow my self to feel and express my thoughts. I better get to bed now because we are going to Disneyland tomorrow.

Today's Saying: Girls just want to have fun!

After church on Sunday, 4 of my friends and I left on a mini vacation to San Clemente Beach, the place I was at last August for a family wedding. My friend Cynthia and I drove up in her new Mercedes. We followed my friends Lissa, Lucia and Dolores. Cynthia's daughter has an apartment 2 blocks from the pier that was ours for the next few days. The apartment was basically empty and we slept on air mattresses. Once we dropped our stuff off, we headed to a few places in nearby cities. We went to a bakery called 85 in Irvine. It was the best bakery I have ever been too. The line was out the door! Then we went to dinner and then the market to get our breakfast supplies. There was no wifi at the apartment so we played a game called Left, Center, Right or LCR. It was a lot of fun. Lissa brought a DVD and Video screen and tons of chic flicks for the weekend. We made a huge breakfast on Monday morning and then took a walk on the pier. Then we went shopping after we got ice cream cones from Rite Aid. We were sharing how we remember when we got single cones for 5 cents and it was called Thrifty's back in the 60's. I found a purse at Ross and we also went to Marshall's. We decided to have dinner back at the pier at this Italian place. It was cold as they only had outdoor seating so we took our food home. We had the best pasta and salad. Then we watched a few movies. Tuesday we enjoyed another late morning home made breakfast and decided to were going to just stay in and watch movies and play games. We ordered pizza and salad to be delivered from the same Italian place and the pizza was really good too. We enjoyed the pastries all weekend. Tuesday night I won 3 gift cards while playing LCR. Wednesday morning we went for breakfast at a cafe across from the pier and we had the best breakfast. We headed back to the apartment, packed and cleaned. We said good bye and left around 12. It was a much needed great girlfriend get away. The lease expires at the end of Feb. so we are going to try to get back one more time. The other girls took the freeway back one way and we took the more rural way back through the Cleveland National forest since it is more scenic. My hubby and grandson met us at Target. I used my gift card to by the game for Eddie. The grandkids were happy to have me back. Now I have to start all over with my eating plan. I did do my reading and am on track with that so I am happy!

Today's Saying: Made to Crave

Long before computers, I was a book reader. I think it began with the Little House in the Big Woods that really peaked my interest in reading. I think I was in 3rd grade. I had such an imagination and I was also a vivid dreamer. I loved seeing the pictures in my head as I read. When I was around 10 or 11, I read the Trixie Belden Mysteries and I still have them. I was hoping my daughter Renee would read them, but she does not read for enjoyment, only for school/learning. As far back as I remember, there were book shelves in all my homes while growing up and in my own household. My parents even turned one room into a library when they remodeled their house. Once the computer came into my life, the amount of books I read each year dwindled. I read my Bible and a few series books like the AD Chronicles. A few years ago my friend Judy gave me her old Kindle and I have read a few book on it. I have though of buying a new Kindle HDX, but not sure if I want to get that or getting a small computer that can do it all. I will need something before our trip next fall.

At Christmas, I ordered a book called the Women of Christmas and while getting that I also ordered One Thousand Gifts because several friends said it was good. I decided I wanted to read more this year. My sister gave me the same book for Christmas so I am going to exchange one for another book. A few days ago my friend Tammy asked if I wanted to do a study with her because she knew I wanted to get healthy. So I signed up and hubby picked up the book yesterday and I stayed up late reading from both books. I then journaled my thoughts after the reading. Both books go along with my 2 words for the year which are abundandly and desire. Today Judy tagged me and said she was reading Made to Crave and if I wanted to join her in the study. So I will be busy reading again and hopefully cutting back on Farmville. I do plan to keep blogging here. Here are the books along with 2 pictures from vacation.

Looking down at Red Rock Canyon before flying into Las Vegas.
I hope to visit here next year when we go to Vegas.

Another thing I want to do is play more board games.

Today's Saying: Happy Birthday to my Father In Law
and good to be back home.

Walking at the Mall by the Venetian.
Decorated for the Chinese NY, year of the Horse.

We had a nice flight home Saturday, just 40 minutes from Las Vegas to Ontario. We had to get to the airport early so that Andrew and Jr could get on the road for the 3 1/2 hour drive back. Audrina enjoyed our time at the airport chatting away. At one point she stood on the chair and sang her version of going to fly on a plane....up in the air. A student sat on the floor near us and plugged in her I Pad. Audrina's Ipad was getting charged too. So after the girl left, she had to try the same thing. Marina got priority seating with a note from her Dr.

Audrina with her Ipad. Marina got the case at a kisok since it was on sale.

The sun kept me from getting a good shot with my IPhone.

Happy 80th Smiley!

Today family and friends met to celebrate my Father in Laws 80th birthday. We met at Miguels. The same place we had my dad's birthday party 3 years ago. It was bittersweet for me knowing how much my dad wanted an 80th birthday party. It was nice because Smiley went through cancer treatment and has been in remission. The grand kids had lots of fun and my brother in law took lots of pictures.

I am sitting here in my recliner and feeling pain in my knee, just when tomorrow was suppose to be the day I start walking again. I was tucking Jazzy in bed and bent over straight legged, and when I stood up, I felt a pain in my knee. I could hardly walk. I took some Motrin and have my knee in my recline position. First my shoulder and know my knee. I need to make a dr appt. She is not going to be happy with my unhealthy lifestyle. She last saw me after my dad died and told me not to lose anymore weight and now I have gained the 10 pounds I lost. Well I have to make some changes for sure if I want to be ready for our trip next fall. One of the changes is getting to bed earlier. I hope to have some more pictures to share in a couple of days. Have a great week! Hugs

Today's Saying: Happy Birthday to my son Andrew

Yesterday was Andrew's 33rd birthday. He and his dad saw a crab food place when they went to the market the previous day. So we went and really had a nice meal. It was a nice change from the Buffets we had been eating at. Judy from Homespun Blessings was able to come over on Monday with her kids and we all had a great time. Well this is just a short post. Jr and I are planning on going out for a few hours and he is ready.

Today's Saying: Time for winter break.

Tomorrow I am flying to Las Vegas with my daughter in law and grand daughter Audrina. She is almost 6 months pregnant, and her back hurts a lot,we are flying. Yesterday I felt baby Elijah moving a lot! The rest of the family is driving up for a few days. My son Andrew has a time share there so his family and hubby and I will stay the week. Renee has school so she can only go for a few days. Daniel will be home since he just came back from vacation from New Mexico.

I have a link to the right about One Word. If you click on the link, it will take you to my page on my One Word.

I got the sound track to Frozen and added it to my ITunes library. Then I moved the music to my IPhone. I played the sound tract for the kids while they worked on the Frozen puzzles. We plan to take a few games up with us the the timeshare like Monopoly, Scrabble and Uno. While up there, I plan to meet up with Judy of Homespun Blessings. We have met a few time there in Vegas and here at Disneyland. I have a page listed below that has the online friends I have met in the past 12 years. Well I better get going because I have lots of errands to do today.

Today's Saying:Packing up for the future.

I have been busy packing up my Christmas decorations. It takes a long time since I have so many ornaments. I am also packing knowing I will be moving so things have to be done just right. I did get a chance to get away to visit my sisters. While there, my sister Terry and I saw the movie Frozen. Though I watched it with my grand kids, I missed a lot while with them. This is just not a kids movie. There was so much to read between the lines. One song really hit hard and my sister just took my hand. The Billboard charts for Jan. 7 says Frozen is the #1 Movie and the #1 Album of the top 200. The song Let It Go is my favorite. If you have not seen it, do so while we still have the winter weather to go with it.

After the movie we saw her son's new home and then we went to eat at a place called Rockafellas Deli It had a menu that reflected the different foods of NY. I had some Matzo ball soup and a sandwich and the pastrami was the best. They have 2 bakery windows and it was the best! Hubby and I plan to go there for sure. Saturday hubby and I will go on vacation to Las Vegas and stay at my son's time share. I will be taking my laptop of course! I am currently working on my One Word Project and will talk about it at my next post. I hope to make it back here before we leave. One more thing, baby Elijah is now 25 weeks along and moving a lot! Can't wait to hold him!
