Todays Saying:Slowly moving to Blogger.

I can't believe how long it has been since I was last here. I have been blogging at my Blogger site because it is easier. I have had this site for over 20 years now and it will probably be muy last year. I just need to get things I have written saved. This webhome has over 200 pages if not more. If you go to the site map, you can get to the index of tons of pages. There is the Christmas site, Fall site, Recipes and more. All the vacations link to multiple pages. Enjoy your visit here, then stop at my blog site at Blogger.

Todays Saying:Waiting for fall!

I think this is the longest I have gone without posting here. I have posted a few things at my Blogger site only because it is easy. I feel like I have more control here. But I think I will move there soon. Maybe I will get more visitors there and be inspried again. Life has been pretty busy here. I am still bible journaling and I have added a new thing called Bibledex cards. Remember Rolodex cards? Well the crafting world started doing this a couple of years ago with Heidi Swap. Then the Bible journalers took it from there. So I am doing a study on words in the Bible, going to Monday study on the David at church, reading the Hiding place and Bible journaling. I went away with some of my Lifegroup friends a few weeks ago and intoduced them to Bibledex cards. Now we work on them after our Wednesday morning study. I have fully embraced the creatie-craty person I am! You can find the link to my blogger site on the lower right. Happy fall! August 10, 2019
Todays Saying: Happy 45th anniversary to us! We are off to spend the day in Laguna Beach. Sunday we celebrate my birthday and my grand daughter's 10th birthday and she and her brother start school that day too.

Todays Saying: Beach fun!

My daughter in law Marina and I took the kids to Corona Del Mar State beach. We wanted to go to Huntington Beach, but they were having their U.S. surf competitions. It was a bit cloud when we got there but the son eventually came out. I was able to do a cut up some of my Bible journalig graphics. I looked for a few shells, but that beach does not have many. A black and white fish washed ashore but a man threw it back in the water before I could take the picture. The grands were all excited about it. We packed lunches for everyone but went out to eat before heading back home. Friday we are going to a concert at the Orange Country Fairgrounds to hear Michael McDonald and Chaka Khan. We are going with my siblings. I need to get back to my study so have a great weekend!

Todays Saying: Busy hot summer!

We have been busy with grandkids. We are also having hot weather and it will be a 100 degrees today with some humidity. Thursday we are going to my son's company picnic and after lunch we will go to the water park for most of the day. Then my other son has his company picnic on Saturday and hopefully it won't be as hot. Sunday we will watch my grandson's last basketball game of the summer. I am still busy with my various studies but not as busy when I was taking the craft camp. I learned a lot and now I need to put some of the things I learned into practice. I am also working on this blog again and enjoyed changing to a beach theme. We hope to get to the beach next week.
The Site Map to the left takes to to a big list of the pages I have done over the years. Some pages are not even listed and those are the ones I am trying to remove from my server to free up more space. Then I am going to add pictures from our Hawaii trip from Novemeber. We will see how long that takes!

Todays Saying: Craft Camp is over, the heat is on!

First of all, my comment link works! I just had it blocked in my browser. I should have check another browser first. I went and installed a guestbook from Bravenet and when I looked still an empty page. Then when I checked Edge, there were both! The main thing I need to do is save the personal things I have written to paper because reality is that things change and this site will be gone someday. We think we have forever and we don't. So the things that are important to our loved ones are the one that count.

Today's Saying: Time for camp!

Well virtual camp is what I mean. For the past two years I have participated in to online camps. They both started on Saturday. One is a craft theme camp through The Reset Girl The other is Revival Camp 2019 through Illustrated Faith. My grandson Elijah also graduated from preschool on Saturday and after the ceremony we went out to eat. He and his sister Audrina are out of school now. The other two grands end on Wednesday. Last week we got to see Eddie receive an Honor Society award.

Today's Saying: Finally Back!

I finally had to buy a new computer! Starting all over takes time. I need to reset several passwords since they were saved. I had to add back all my favorite places that I use to resize pictures and so on. It takes lots of time and I have been busy with all my studies. I finished the Names of God and I am now doing one called I Am by Lysa Terkeurst. I will be starting 3 new projects June 1. Revival Camp with Illustrated Faith. I just got my cute kit and we will be going over the Old Testament. I am also doing 100 Days of Less Hustle, More Jesus and finally Camp WantaCraft with the Reset Girl. I have done these virtual camps the past couple of years and enjoy myself. I like to "set up camp" in my craft space. I will be doing activities with the grands too and plan some camping activities with them too. I hope to get some pictures here soon.

Today's Saying: Busy days!

I have been enjoying our warmer weather. I try to go outside to get some sun each day. Our roses are blooming and so are the aphids. I have to go out and spray them off with water and use a spray. I made it to the gym twice this week and it felt good. Does spring cleaning count as exercise? I have been cleaning and rearranging my closet. I have also been busy with my many studies. This Friday we get our two older grandkids until the 16th. Our daughter is taking a vacation to New Orleans for her 30th birthday. She is going with a few friends. She just got an award at work and she deserves a nice vacation. Once she starts nursing school, she will be very busy! Last week my cousin and I went to the Orange Circle antique district. We had so much fun and I found a few things that I liked.

1. What Hobby You Do Or Wish You Still Did:
I enjoy Bible journaling. It can be in my Bible or in little notebooks.

may be going to Maui in 2021. We also may be going to New York
in the fall of 2019 for our 45th anniversary.

4. What Is Your Favorite Childrens movie: Sound of Music and any Disney movie.

Today's Saying: I am springing into action!

I have been enjoying our spring weather for the most part. We had so much rain the past few months and everything is green. The California poppys are enjoying a super bloom and we only live about 20 miles from it. But the traffic is so heavy over there from all the visitors. The rain has brought lots of butterflies and sadly many mosquitos. I am making some bug spray with my essential oils.

I am doing better with my acid reflux if I watch what I eat. After last night I realize I cannot eat full fat yogurt in the eveing. I think I will find a non dairy alternative. I have lost about 5 pounds since January which is a whole size for me. I am actully trying to eat more while still watching what I eat that does not aggravate the acid reflux. So no coffee with all the fat and sugar creamers. No chocolate for now. No fried breaded food. No red meats and no citrus/acid fruits. I am also watching what I eat that helps my osteoporosis. So I have to cut back and salt and I gave up carbonated beverages about 5 years ago. I mostly drink water now. I get the PH balance water at the health store which is good for acid reflux.

I have been busy working on several Illustrated Faith projects. One is a Lent study. The other on my spiritual birthday. I am working on another devotional on the Women of the Bible through Dayspring. Today I start a study called RescYOUed that will go over 30 names of God. I am also doing a Msx Lucado study based on his book called Six Hours One Friday. Oh and I forgot the Facebook group study I am doing with Karla Dornacher - Discovering Hope in the Psalm. Thank goodness I am retired! For the fun side, I am doing a Spring playbook with Cori the Reset Girl. I printed and spiral bound my playbook. I finished it yesterday. I printed out everything I needed for today last night and then my printer broke! No Joke! I will be taking it to Office Depot to see if they can fix it. The older grands are with their dad this week since they are on spring break. I am off to enjoy my busy week now. Hugs

Today's Saying: Spring is around the corner
but today it is cloudy and cool.

The forecast says warmer weather is on the way. Then I can go out and get some vitamin D! I finally had to go to the doctor about my acid reflux. It seems to be improving, but I have had to remove a lot of things that are not good for it like coffee, chocolate, citrus, spicy food. I have to make sure I still get enough of the food that is high in calium and vitamin D. I need to get back to the gym!

I have been enjoying my different studies. I am doing a study on lent, the women of the Bibe and one on joy. I finished one oneline class and am almost done with our church evening group.

Satuday my husband and sibling went out to eat and then to a George Bensen concert. We always have a good time when we are together. We know it would make a mom and dad happy to know we are staying close.

Today's Saying: Up and running!

My computer stopped working on Feb. 14 and it took several days before they could get it fixed. I went to Office Max instead of Best Buy because they were a lot cheaper. They backed up all my stuff to an external hard drive and then re installed windows 10. So it is like I have a new computer and I have to add everything back. It takes time because some of my things had passwords saved already. I have to reset passwords. I tried MS Edge but it could not read the inline frames here. So I decided to go back to Firefox which has the features I want. I have been super busy with several Bible studies and did not even open my laptop a few days. I started removing a few pages from my server. I have a few friendship pages left but they will be going down in the next few weeks. Then the Cottage Garden will go after that. If you want to see them, you can find them at the Site Map, link to the right.

I enjoyed watching the Oscars this year. I love how the women are dressing so nicely. Lady Gaga looked so pretty in her black gown. I need to get to bed now but hope to blog more regular soon.

Today's Saying: Rain and more rain.

We have gotten lots of rain this winter which we really need! I don't mind because I don't work. But I do worry about my kids that have to drive in it. my grands that have to walk in it. The grands are off school and they are staying with us. They really enjoy being here. They sleep in the guest room which is really set up for them. There is a bookcase with toys. Eddie his bed and Jazzy and Renee sleep in the full bed. I have lots of Lego sets and art and craft supplies to keep them busy.

have been busy with my various projects along with my Monday Bible study and Wednesdy morning life group. This week we are taking paper flowers and candy to a assisted facility. We are also having a Valentine potluck. I still need to make 12 cards for our exchange. Hubby and I are suppose to go out to eat at the Mission Inn, but now is forcast for rain. So maybe we will take in another movie. We watched A Star in Born last week and we enjoyed that except the bad language.

My computer has not been working very well. Not sure if it is the computer or thr trackball. Cut and paste does not work very well. I use the Firefox browser and it has not been working very well either. I have not been very well either. I have been suffering from acid reflux for several weeks and have had to change my earing habits. I also have been sleeping in an upright position. I plan to get a wedge pillow to help with this. I have had to give up coffee, spicy food, red meats and some dairy, acidic fruits and chocolate. I am praying that this can go away and that I don't have to go on long term medication. I take enough medications and suppliments now.

Today's Saying: What is our nation doing?

I rarely discuss politics on my site as there is more division in our nation that ever was. But I am so saddened by the decision that they will now allow babies to be aborted right up until the birth age in NY. It is so wrong! Why don't they make a law that says of you don't want your baby, you have to give it up for adoption? So many families want children that can't have them. We were blessed to adopt a baby girl almost 30 years ago. She has given us our first two grandkids. Life is precious. Lord our nation is in big time trouble, please help us.

Today's Saying: Saturday 9 Meme......
I Forgot to Remember to Forget 1955(the year I was born!)

1.Elvis sings that he thinks about this girl all the time. What person or topic is on your mind this Saturday? Catching up with my Bible journaling. Finish up Christmas packing.

2) He wants to forget the day he met his girl, but simply can't. Think about someone very important in your life. Did you know right away that they were going to be influential? No I didn't We were cousins and only saw each other at family functions after childhood. Then in the 90's (now in our mid 30's) God put us together to serve him and others. But we both had to learn to open up and trust and get a lot of healing. She is m best friend.
Since this week's song is about memories, let's check on how well you recall events in your own life.

3) What was the first concert you ever attended? I assume we are not talking about church or school events. When I was in grade school, my piano teacher took me to hear an orchestra play. I think it was in Los Angeles. I was so mesmerized to see how the music came together through the different instruments. Years later when I was in NY at the theater ready to see Phantom of the Opera, I saw the orchestra below the stage. My mind went back to my childhood visit to LA. When I was 17 in 1973, myboyfriend and I went to see Tower of Power and Average White Band at the Long Beach Arena. Tower of Power had a hit called - You're Still A Young Man- It was a double date with my sister and her boyfriend.

4) Where did you get your first piercing? (Not only where on your body, but who did the deed and where did they do it?) My grandma pierced my ears at her home when I was around 12. She cleaned the ears with Bactine. She held ice on the ear until it was numb and then cleaned it again. Then she cleaned the needed that had red embroidery thread. Once it healed she bought me my first earrings.

5) What's the name of the bank where you had your first checking account? Bank of America.

6) Tell us about your first bicycle. I remember riding bikes when I was around 5 or 6. Most of my friends were boys. When I was around 10 I got my first big girls bike. When I was 14 I worked for the summer and bought a sting ray bike with the huge seat.

7) Who received the first text you ever sent? I don't remember.

8) What had you been drinking when you suffered your first hangover? Never had a hang over.

9) Whose was the first wedding you ever? I don't remember but I was around 4 and I was the flower girl.

Today's Saying: Tuesday 4 Meme......First

1. What was your very first job?I worked at Toy City and I was 14. I needed a work permit and could only work at Christmas break and summer vacation. I had to use an old fashion cash register and figure math in my head. I wrapped a lot of gifts with red and white stripped paper. Everything had a price sticker on it. I would open a box and get the inventory sheet of all items in the box. Price stickers were included and I priced the merchandise and put it back in the box. My mom was the head manager of 9 stores. Toy City eventually closed down because of Toys R Us.

2. What was your very first car? A 1971 Chevelle Malibu in lime green.

3. When was your very first ride on an airplane, boat or train? 1968 we took a train trip in Decemeber from California to Colorado. There was so much snow. I remember one evening my mom and I were looking out the window as we approached a station and we saw some deer outside. It was a special moment. I did not take my first plane trip until I was in my 40's because I was afraid to fly.

4. Who was your very first best friend & do you still talk? My oldest friend is Diane. We met in grade school aroud 1962. We got together talked four a few hours. I also met up with friend from high school last year for an evening of memories. At Christmas I met up with my friend Anita who I have know since 10th grade.

Today's Saying: Saturday Nine
Saturday 9: You Make Me Feel Brand New (1974) Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here. Welcome to the first Saturday 9 of 2019!

1) As 2019 kicks off, what are your hopes for the brand new year? Read through the Bible again, get back to the gym and eat healthier. Have a nice 45th anniversary.
2) Just because an item isn't brand new doesn't mean it isn't valuable. Have you scored any fabulous finds at a second hand store or website? Yes I found an antique dresser at an antique store in Orange California.
3) This song is sung by The Stylistics, a group from Philadelphia. Have you ever been to Philly? No but Hubby and I saw the Stylistics in 1974.
4) This song was co-written by Thom Bell, a Philadelphia-based musician/producer who was born in Kingston, Jamaica. The average daily temp in Kingston in January is 87ยบ. Do you have plans to get away this winter and go somewhere warm? We were just in Hawaii after Thanksgiving.
5) The Stylistics took their choreography very seriously. As you can see from the video, they even carefully synchronized their hand movements. Do you use your hands much when you talk? At times. Depends how excited I am.
6) The lyrics tell us that the singer is grateful for a friend who will walk with him along a path that "sometimes bends." Looking back on 2018, tell us about a time that life's path took a bend you didn't quite expect. Wow, I am 63 and have taken a few curves. I think the hardest was dealing with infertility
7) In 1974, when this song was popular, Chicago's Sears Tower opened and was for years the world's tallest building. Its elevators can carry you to the 103rd floor in approximately a minute. When were you last on an elevator? While on vacation in Hawaii this past November.. We were on the 16th floor. The highest elevator I took was at Rockefeller Center, NY 2008.
8) Also in 1974, the 55 mph speed limit was imposed nationwide. When you drive, are you careful to stay within the speed limit? Or do you have a led foot? I try not to go more than 5 miles over the speed limit, but at times I go 10 over the limit.
9) Random question -- It's time to pose for your Saturday 9 yearbook picture. Will you show us your right profile, your left profile, or will you look directly into the camera?

Our first Christmas, 1974
