Today's Sayings:

It is hard to believe that another year is coming to an end. Time goes by so quickly! Yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of the death of my furbaby Reina. I was so heart broken. Last year was the first Christmas I did not have a mom and missed her a lot this year. Time does heal the heart that hurts. Hope fills the heart and keeps it going. The older I get the more I realize how blessed I am. My family is the most important thing to me and everything else is material. I enjoy watching my grand kids grow and I want to be around for as long as I can. So I decided to start out the New Year right. Yesterday I went to Kaiser with my husband. He has a doctor's appointment and I decided to get my mammogram done while waiting for him. They take walk in and no charge! I also got a flu shot-ouch! I have my physical on the 16th. Now to change my eating habits. I told hubby we are eating healthier too. After that I had to return my fireplace hooks since they did not work. The we went to the Mission Inn for dinner. They decorate for the holidays and there was a lot of old world decorations. We were sitting in the Las Campanas patio when the lights all went on. You could hear the people filled with wonder. After walking around the Mission, we went across the street to the antique store. I was able to find a Snoopy Hallmark ornament dated 1991 for only $6.99 and it was in mint condition! I am going with my dad later today. I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year! Hugs and Blessings!

Today's Sayings: A tease of spring weather.

It was 82 today and sunny. I was able to take Audrina for a walk and she loves her walks. I hope to take her to the park Thursday since this weather will continue until after the New Year. The nights on the other hand have been in the low 30's. I am so glad I don't have to go out in the early morning like hubby. It is good that I retired when I did since they changed his hours to start at 5am instead of 6am. He is really hoping to retire this year. I am thinking of my NY resolutions and as usual, better health is on the top. I plan to do more reading too. I am so addicted to FV and I know how I need to spend less time playing. I do enjoy playing Words with Friends and it is good for the brain.

I took tons of pictures for Christmas and now I need to work on my annual Christmas page that are at my family Christmas site linked at the left. The highlight for me was Christmas dinner at my sisters and taking my grand niece and her mom. My sister Terry was so happy! We stayed at Terry's and watched while the baby's presents were opened. Another nice thing was Daniel taking his girlfriend and her son. Edward was able to be there and he left back to Vegas on Monday evening. I was able to pick up a few after Christmas sale items. A Charlie brown musical moving ornament and wrapping paper. I also got another CB tree that has the Linus blanket and plays music. I took the stocking down yesterday but I am not rushing to get things put away. I will go at a pace that is relaxing and organized. I am planning on spending the weekend with my dad and come back on Monday. Jr goes to bed early because of his hours so he doesn't mind me going with my dad. Bye for now. Hugs

It is countdown to Christmas. Today we had a church play that showed Jesus on the cross. There were specific things Jesus said like "I thirst" and "it is finished. Then the scene would change to a Jesus as a boy. It was an interesting play with a great message. Then Pastor Jim dismissed us but not before telling us to enjoy our Christmas meals. After church we went out for lunch with my dad and my inlaws. Edward arrived from Las Vegas and joined us too. The babies were really happy to see their daddy. Dad brought down gifts from Temecula and took ours. The kids are all excited about Christmas now. Oh the picture above is the ornament I mentioned in my previous post. I found it online and I love it!

So what is on your Christmas menu? Christmas Eve dinner is normally tamales. We will go to the Christmas Eve Service at church before heading to my inlaws. Saturday I will be making enchilada casseroles for my family's Christmas dinner. My daughter will be baking so we will be busy in the kitchen. I was suppose to go make tamales on Saturday with my cousins and aunts, but I woke up feeling sick and decided to stay put. I felt bad because I really wanted to do this. I have learned to listen to my body. Hopefully I can go next year. But what I really want to do is make my own. Traditional tamales are made with pork or beef. But my husband can't eat it and my daughter won't eat it and everyone likes chicken. I am going to try to make some for the New Year. I just need to find and easy recipe. Mexican markets sell the masa already made so I will get that. If I find a good recipe, I will share it at my Recipe site.

On Thursday, my cousin Joanie and I drove to Downtown Disney to meet our friend Judy and her daughter. Judy's family was taking a Disneyland vacation and I planned to meet up. We had the best time. We got to listen to the Dicken Carolers at the Grand Californian. We had mocha cafe coffees and this wonderful chocolate fudge cake with warm caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. It was yummy! The time flew and before we knew it, it was almost midnight. I met Judy online around 2001 and we have met 4 times now. What a blessing she is! Her daughter Emily is a little blessing to with the most sweet spirit. She gave us each a Minnie angel and it is on my tree next to the Minnie ornament that I got from Melanie, another online friend. God is good to bless me with sweet friends.

I do not watch Audrina this week. I put away the cage and all the extra toys and now my living room is in order. Right now my dining room has presents that need to be wrapped and a couple of craft projects that need to be fixed. I am listening to Christmas music and relaxing in my chair. I like to stay up late and sleep in late. I have always been a night owl. I like to play my games when the house is quiet. I still work on my website, but not as often. I do have this page to share and I am going to add it to my Christmas index. Merry Christmas if I don't post again.

Today's Sayings:"Let inspiration generate hope today" LIGHT- Thomas Kinkade

I was watching an interview of Thomas Kinkade and learned that he was a student of Cal State Berkeley in Ca. It was there that he found more than education. He found a personal relationship with the Father of Lights, the inspiration for his paintings. It made me think of the children's play today at church. The "stars of heaven" told the story of the "Light from heaven" They told the story through songs. There was "the Star, Shooting Star, "Falling Star" and more. They also sang a song called "This little light of mine." It was one I sang in Sunday School and one I sang to my own children. I sang it with the the kids in the class I taught in Sunday school. They enjoyed it because it has hand motions. Now I want to show the hand motions to my grand kids. I was also reminded of a play I was in when I was a child. Each child in my Sunday school class held a candle and recited a verse. This was mine. "Christians lit the light, that all the world may see, the gift of love, from God above, God's son who set us free. That was about 48 years ago!

I love all the Christmas lights on the trees in the house. Last week we took the kids for a walk in the neighborhood to see the lights and displays. Yesterday we went to Knott's Berry Farm, and I enjoyed the lights come on as the sun was setting. I especially enjoyed the music playing, the traditional songs I learned at school and church while growing up. I was especially happy to see a Nativity displayed as we entered the park. I was thinking of Kia and how she shared a picture and asked if we had one to share. It has inspired me to do a web page on my many Nativity displays/ornaments. That will be my next web project. Today's Sayings: Happy Birthday to my sister Terry!

Well look who the wind blew in....me. Well we are experiencing the Santa Ana winds which brought in colder weather and knocked over a lot of things in the backyard. I will have to go look at my front tree to see how many leaves have fallen. I did take a picture yesterday. I am all decorated now and will post pictures at the annual page I make. My daughter asked what I wanted for Christmas. I told her a day to talk with my mom cause I miss her voice. Of course I will have to wait until I get to heaven. I miss her more this year than last year. I guess because since I was the oldest, I got to stay up and help her decorate, and wrap presents. We sat on the couch with hot chocolate and watched Christmas movies like White Christmas. That was before there were cell phones and laptops and multiple rooms with Satellite TV. Life is busy and I thought it would slow down once I retired, but I am busy with the baby and taking care of the house. The kids enjoyed putting ornaments on the tree. Last summer when the ornaments came out, I bought some for my grandkids. Now that Christmas is here, I have no idea what I did with them! Well I am sure they will show up. I have been helping my dad with his Christmas list and getting ready to do his cards. We both send pictures to Costco to have cards made. I will be spending the weekend with him and I am sure we will get a lot done. Dad has already decorated and set up his tree. He got a smaller one and set it in the living room instead of the family room. We went to my son's house for Thanksgiving and took some pictures for our Christmas card. Hubby and I went away for the weekend on the Friday after Thanksgiving. We stayed in Orange County and went to Downtown Disney and Old Town Orange. We had a nice time, enjoying the sites and sounds of Christmas. I got a few trees to decorate and an antique store. We did go to Target and found some items too. It was a nice and much needed weekend. Our next get away will be in June for my nieces wedding in Maui. Well the baby is up and I need to go. Hugs

Hi friends, I am resting after a busy weekend with the family. Eddie's party had a Cars 2 Theme and he got a lot of toys. I have a few pictures from my Iphone and I am waiting to get some pictures from my sister. My Iphone is ok for some pictures, but many do not come out clear. My camera was out of space and I could not use it. We decided to go the tostada bar again and everyone liked that. I cooked a roast and 2 chickens and we bought the shredded pork. So people could either add meat toppings to their tostada or make small soft tacos. Sunday we got the predicted rain, thankfully after the party. After church Jr and I went to Walmart to pick up some gifts I ordered for the kids for Christmas. I also got some SD cards and a Flash drive. Then we met Renee, Edward and the kids at Toys R US so Eddie could get a helmet with his birthday money. Then we went to the movies to see Happy Feet 2. I am going to take down the rest of the Harvest things this week and start Christmas decorating. I am in no rush though, especially since my shoulder hurts a lot today. Jr is home this week on vacation and we will be going away Friday for the weekend. I am so glad Thanksgiving is at my son's house and we are taking a ham, sweet potatoes and stuffing.

I am sitting here watching Dances with the Stars and thinking how another week has flown by. The house is quiet now that the babies are asleep. Fall is here for sure now. My front yard tree looks beautiful with the multi color of fall leaves. I can finally go for walks again now that the weather is cool. I have packed away my warm weather clothes and washed all my winter clothes. I have also packed away my pumpkins and some scarecrows. I will put the rest away after Eddie's birthday party which is on the 19th. Normally we would have celebrated it the Saturday after his birthday, but that was the day baby Scotty has the kiddie party the Child's Play in Temecula at the child. It rained that day so it was great for all the littke ones. We adults had fun watching and playing with the kids. Afterwards, Renee and I went shopping at Kohls and I got a grey pair of boots and a black top to go with the grey jeans I got. While we were in the shoe department, Eddie saw Woody Boots and he just had to see them. He once had slippers and he wore them till they had holes and outgrew them. Well this Mema had to get them for him. His mama told them they were for home only. Eddie does not know how blessed he is. Our church is involved with Operation Christmas Child, a part of Samaritan's Purse founded by Franklin Graham. This program provides Christmas boxes of love for kids all over the world. Our church does this every year. We chose a 3 year old boy because of Eddie. People fill a box with items for a boy or girl and state the age. We also provide the postage to send it over seas.

When we first moved to this house, Jr wanted a low maintenance yard so we had cement put in almost everywhere in the back yard except the side. We put sand on the side and that is where we kept our swing set. Renee was 10 months when we moved here so things worked. After a few years the boys stopped playing in the swings and Jr decided to build a playhouse for Renee. He spent a summer with one of his uncles that was a carpenter. He did a great job adding a dutch door and a double window and to other windows. Well she played in it with her friends until she was around 5th grade. So we decided to turn it into a storage room to free up some room the garage so the boys could have a weigh bench set. Well we decided we wanted Eddie and Jazzy to have fun in it so we have been busy taking things out, cleaning out the playhouse. Jr swept it out and sprayed it for bugs. I will broom it and clean the floors. It once had curtains and I may make some but no hurry. We will see. I will post pics when I can. Meanwhile, here are some of the grand kids.

Today's Sayings: Happy 4th Birthday Eddie!

We was so happy this morning when he opened the present from his dad. He got his red tennis that he wanted. I took a really cute picture of him at the table and he said "but Mema, you need to get my shoes in the picture" Renee was taking him to preschool along with some apple pumpkin muffins to share with his classmates. We asked him what he wanted for dinner today and he said tostadas and rice so I will be making a fresh pot of beans today.

Daniel made chicken pozole, (posole) the other day and it was great. He added various onions, garlic, celery, carrots, cilantro, bay leaves and seasonings-cumin and oregano to a large pot of heated water. Then he added some chicken thighs and let that cook for about an hour. He made a chili powder sauce in the blender and added that to the pot along with some chicken breast and 2 large cans of hominy and cooked it on low for a couple of hours. He removed the chicken breast and cut up the pieces and then added it back to the pot. Then he removed the bones from the thighs. He did not make it spicy because none of us can eat it hot. It was so good! I love to squeeze lemon/lime juice in mine. I am hoping he makes it again for Christmas.



Speaking of Christmas, I am about half way done shopping. Kohls has had some really good sales that I have made with my 30% off coupon. Walmart is already having Black Fridaysales so I plan to check that out. Oh and the good news, I got my first retirement deposit on Nov. 1. I was not expecting it until Dec.1.

Finally an update on my dad. They came home on Monday and dad was so happy to be home. He fell in his room and hurt his tailbone and bruised a couple of ribs. So he was hurting and had to forgo a few things. He was very happy to see the Pople from afar at the Vatican. He has to get all better because we are doing to Maui in June for my neice wedding. That is my incentive to get in shape too!

Today's Sayings: Harvest Blessings!

There are so many things to be thankful for but this page says it all. Thank you God for my beautiful grandbabies! Here is a page I made with My Memories listed to the right. Oh I just noticed I cut my rick rack short. Well at least I can edit it.



I have been thinking a lot about my blog/webhome and my webfriends. I know that they have all come into my life for a reason. I know there have been many graphic artist that have shared there wonderful graphics to make my web pages special. When I first stared my webpages, I did not know about linking graphics back to the artist. I had lots of ideas in my head about the graphics I wanted, but I needed the artist to do the work for me. It was during these times I was able to get to know about my friends. Both Elizabeth and I liked tea and so I asked her to do this for me. I closed my adoption shop but decided in memory of Elizabeth I would share these. I do have others but this one says it best. I may make a page of her adoptions. Today's Sayings: Saying goodbye is hard.

Life is full of ups and downs, joy and heartbreak. Life is a gift and when it is cut short, we grieve the loss. I was on Facebook last night when someone mentioned the passing of Elizabeth and there was a link. A picture of a cute Bearded collie appeared and I realized I never saw what Elizabeth look like. But I knew she was nice and loved her dogs. We grieved when she lost her beloved Tequila. I felt so sad. Elizabeth was one of the first persons that gave me tips when I was setting up my webhome. It was before blogs. We all had "webhomes that were filled with pages sharing who we are and what we liked. Elizabeth was also a graphic artist and I purchased several of her adoptions for my Adoption site along with several sigs.



I have not heard from my dad while he has been on his trip. I really miss him but he turned off his phone because of international rates while at sea. Dad and family will be home on the 7th. They were in Naples today and Rome on the first. Our church had Trunk N Treat Carnival and hubby and I passed out candy. I hope to post a few pic in the next few days. We took them to the pumpkin patch on Thursday and I will leave you with a picture of Mema's little pumpkin blessigs. Hugs

Today's Sayings: Faith, Family and Friends
and Happy Birthday to my hubby, Jr on the 25th!

When I first started my webhome over 10 years ago, I wanted to express myself, meet friends and share my faith. A lot has been happening in my life the past few years that has tested my faith. I have been down a few times and I have had encouragement from my friends. Some have even reminded me that my faith will get me through it. God has shown me his faithfulness again and again. While I was on Facebook today, this came up:

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct[a] your paths." (NKJV) This is the 3rd time I have read this today. Makes me think of a song that Mandisa sings that is called "God Speaking". My physical ears have been bothering me, but my spiritual ears are listening.

So each day I am thankful for a new day. I am thankful for my many blessings. It is hard to believe that I have not worked in almost a year. Back then I was so worried about what would happen. On Friday I got "Congratulations on your Retirement" letter in the mail. So I am officially retired. Now I have to wait until December to get my payments. So I celebrated, I went Christmas shopping. I had a 30% coupon from Kohls and I went to their special early bird sale and got some great deals. I am buying for the great grand nephews and nieces and my grandkids. I am making gifts and I am going to hit some Black Friday sales. Looks like I will be watching Audrina until February now so I want to stay on top of things.




My dad, sister Terry, brother Scott and his wife Cindy on the cruise now. They left this evening from Barcelona Spain, sailing south around Sardinia.Not sure if they go under Sicily or above it in the narrow strip between Siciy and end of Italy. They will arrive at Dubrovnik, Croatia on Wed. Oct 26 (7:00AM 6:00PM) I never head of that place until 2006 when we were on our cruise to Alaska and our head waiter was from there. Dubrovnick is at the lower end of Croatia, on the Adriatic Coast. Makes me think of 8th grade geography and learning the major seas of Europe. I probably won't hear from them until they port when they will turn on their phones. International calling is expensive! Here is a map showing and Deubrovnivk on on the right

Today's Sayings: Family Activities Abounding Here!

I have been busy with the grand babies and enjoying them. Eddie started the soccer portion of his sports camp and he loved it! He was so proud of himself. After leaving there, we came home for lunch. Then Renee and Jazzy left for her gymnastics while I stayed with Eddie and packing to go to my dad's. Once Jr and Renee were home, I left. My dad was under the weather and stayed in bed getting over an upset stomach. We stayed in his room talking about his upcoming trip. My sister stopped by with passport items to show my dad. Then dad gave us money and told us to get some dinner. So Aerry and I went to Panera's. We enjoyed our soup and turkey, artichoke sandwich. As we were paying, we decided to get a cookie. Terry mentioned she need to stop at the market to get something for the brunch she was going to after the Temecula Race for the Cure. Well they just happen to have ribbon shaped scones with cherry and raisins. She got a dozen and they even put them in a special RFTC box. We talked for awhile and enjoyed our snack.



I told dad what we had and stayed with him for about half hour and then he was ready for bed. I know he was under the weather because he would normally want to go with us to eat. I went to my room and played my games on FV. I got to sleep until 10:00 and then dad and I went our for breakfast. We forgot about the race and got stuck in some traffic and the place we ate at was super busy. We stopped at Target afterwards so dad could get a few travel items. Then we went home so dad could rest. Later he came out with important papers. Dad went over his trust and will and talked to me about the things I would need to do in the event something happened to him and my brother. My brother is the one in charge, but since he is going with my dad, I am next in line. I will talk more about his travel plans on my next post. I gave him a long hug before I left. I am happy that he will get to go on his dream trip to Italy. He wanted to go with mom, but as I say, life happens and now he is going with my family. He hopes to leave flower at the cemetary for mom on Friday. Her birthday would have been the 19th. I left his house and drove to Winco to stock up on things we would need for the next few months like laundry soap. I got home late, but I am glad I went. Today's Sayings: Falling Behind!

We finally have some much needed rain last week. Just a taste because it will be in the high 90's again this week. I had a super busy weekend and I am really tired today. I had a short nap while Audrina was napping and refueling for her afternoon on the go regime. She is walking around the furniture and trying to take a few steps. She enjoys pressing buttons and putting small objects into large objects. She is a picky eater and it is a challenge to get her fed. Jazzy girl on the other hands has a great appetite and will eat anything. Eddie eats pretty well but is so active he doesn't gain much.

I love the fall and really enjoy all my decorations. Eddie asked me to put some scarecrows in the family room. Last year he was a little afraid of them. I told him they were friends of the pumpkins. Renee took him into a Halloween store to look for costumes and he ran to the front door because something scared him. He does not like scarry things at all.

Saturday our church held a bbq, chili, salsa and cupcake contest. By the time we tried everything, we were full. Daniel entered his salsa but he made it sweet and it did not win the judges vote, but and he was 2nd in fan's favorite. The night before we were at church for the 30th wedding anniversary of Pastor Jim and Olivia. It was a very touching ceremony. The dancing was fun, but I sure was sore the next day. I am so glad our church does fun things.

I will be going to my dad's next weekend. He needs to go over some thing with me before he leaves on his cruise to Italy. He will be leaving out of Spain. My sister Terry, brother Scott and his wife Cindy will be going. I know dad will enjoy this trip.

Today's Sayings: Happy Fall!

We are enjoying a few days of a touch of fall, but it is just a tease. We will be in the high 90's through the end of the week. This is So. CA and October is when our fall usually gets here. We will see.

Today my husband drew the name of the winner of my give away. It is Darylynn from Darylynn Com-ments. Congratulations! I know you will have fun with the program like I have been having!

I finally got my retirement papers in the mail on Friday. What a relief! I sure hope it goes well and quickly. I won't be getting a check until Dec! I sure hope I don't get them back because I left something out. At one time you could meet with someone that would help you out, but now it is all done online. I was on vacation and I felt a bit rushed. Well we will see.

Satuday Jr and I went to both Eddie and Jazzy's sports dates. Jr normally works on Saturdays and he goes back to work tomorrow after being off two weeks. Saturday evening we got together with my family to celebrate my dad's 78th birthday. My dad joined us at church and then we went out to lunch and my cousin Joanie joined us. Jazzy got here at 6:15 am today and I gave her a bottle and she slept until 9:30am. She must have been really tired from a busy weekend. She is going through a picky eating cycle now. She is a happy baby and reminds me so much of Andrew.

Today's Sayings:


I have been scrapping for several years now and I love being able to express the creative side of me. I have collected lot of scrap supplies to make pages. It just take time and a lot of moving around to get what I need as I work. My friend Judy is an expert with PSP and she has shown me some beautiful digital scrap pages she has made. Problem, I can't afford an expensive program or take the time to learn how it works.

Imagine how excited I was when my friend Denise shared her cute scrap pages created with a program called My Memories, an easy to use digital scrapping program. Here is an example of 3 pages I made of my grandchildren. The first is a ready made template. The 2nd is one I made adding what I wanted. I was happy with the results. Like any new activity, practice makes it easier. There are tutorials and the user guide is very helpful.

Today's Sayings: Great vacation, but no place like home!

I am sitting in the back of the Honda as I write this, on our way back from Las Vegas. We stopped at Los Domingos in Bastow for some great food. We had a great time in Las Vegas these past 6 days. Our son's time share was really nice. No babies this weekend and though they were missed, we did enjuoy the quiet. The Marriot Chateau is across from the Planet Hollywood and within walking distance of the Cosmopolitan, Bellagio and Paris. Hubby and I stayed in the 2 bedroom villa and Daniel was in the 1 bedroom villa. Each unit has a kitchen, dining area and living room. You can see the pictures here
Las Vegas is about 3 1/2 hours from us with no traffic and a couple of potty breaks. It is 7:30pm and I am looking out the window to whats left of the sun setting. The weather this past week in Vegas was in the 80's rain and clouds came and went, but nothing to stop us. The weather says we are warming up again with Corona at 75 today and heading back up to the mid 90's. Such is the way here in So. Calif. We talked about what we liked about our trip. Daniel liked having his own place in Vegas. His villa was next to ours. Villa sound so exotic, but it basically was a 1 bedroom apartment and ours was a two bedroom. I would say my highlight was meeting up with Judy. My hubby dropped me of at a Target outside the busy hotel area and Judy picked me up. Emily is just so cute and I love her vioce. I got to hold Trixililly, her beloved stuffed dog. She also has a poodle I have her a few years ago. Judy took me to a really nice scrap store and let me pick out some supples like paper and embellisments. Those of you that know Judy know her big, generous heart. We talked about the pros and cons of regular and digital scrapping. She picked out a few things so Elliot and Emily can make a scrap page for their art day.

I could totally see my hubby and I retiring with 2 bedroom condo. We will see what the future holds for us. I had my counseling appointment while on vacation and I need to finalize my paperwork and get it in. I found out my first check won't come until Dec. 1st so we are going to have a frugal Christmas. I am not upset or anything. I think that my way of thinking has changed over the years about wants and needs, about what is important and what is not. My family is healthy, and I am blessed with 3 beautiful grandbabies. Christmas will be for them. I plan to make most of my gifts this year. I do plan to make things with my scrap book stuff. Ok, speaking of scrapping, I found an easy to use digital scrap program called My Memories. I am going to offer a free give away starting on Monday. I will have the rules and samples of what I have done with the program then so please come back. Ok, time for me to work on my pictures of Las Vegas. Hugs and blessings.

Today's Sayings: Happy Labor Day!

Hard to believe Audrina is one now. Time sure flies!!! She had a super big party at Chuck E, Cheese. Andrew and Marina, Daniel and Nicole and a few other of Andrew's friends worked at Chuck E. Cheese. Andrew was able to get a good discount which was great for all the people that were there. After the party we went to Andrew and Marina's to watch Audrina open her gifts. She did a pretty good job with the presents and I am sure she will have fun with all her new goodies and mommy loves the new clothes. Church was great as always and we went to eat lunch afterwards. We had a nice relaxing day at home watching tv and a movie called Jumping The Broom with Angela Bassett and Loretta Devine. My family enjoyed the movie and Daniel said it was nice family time. Today's Sayings: Job retirement is just around the corner!
My eternal retirement is yet to come!

I have been busy working on my web pages and on my retirement papers. The new web page is listed to the left and is on our San Diego getaway. I miss working on my web pages. I can't say I enjoy the retirement pack. At one point you could There is so much to read and papers to be filled. It is such a big step and one I had not planned on this soon, but as I say, life happens. You just never know and you can have a poor attitude or a positive attitude. Like my friend Suzi who passed away on Saturday. It is so sad that is happened, but as a Christian, I know there is a better place to be. Her celebration service is on the 10th and everyone is being asked to dress in Hawaiian clothing to share in her love of Hawaii. She and her husband Randy went every January. I plan to wear the dress I got in Hawaii when we were there in 2009. That is if I still fit in it! Suzi is now in eternal paradise. People are signing up to bring food and I am going to cook white rice. My son is going to make a mango salsa and my daughter is taking a 35 pack of bottled water. A beautiful send off for a beautiful friend.

Today's Sayings: Life is always full of ups and downs.

Time goes much to fast. I thought I would have more time once I stopped working, but that is not the case. I am enjoying the title of housewife and grandma. Little Audrina is toddling along the furniture and getting into everything. She turns 1 on Sept. 3. We had a great get away weekend last week and I am working on a webpage for it. Life is precious and only God knows the number of our days. Saturday I lost my friend Suzi, after she struggled for 3 days from a possible lung infection. She was in a semi-coma most of the time. Then on Saturday as her husband was singing to her, she opened her eyes, smiled and took her last breath. She was only 60. I like to believe she saw Jesus and peace and happiness filled her heart. She was a beautiful woman with a bit heart and she will be missed. While this was happening, my husband and I were at the wedding of our God daughter. She had a small intimate backyard wedding wearing a Mexican dress. Her mom and I have known each other since High school, 1971. The really cool thing about the wedding was that as soon as they were married, the pastor dedicated their 5 month old baby girl. It was a first for me and so special.

This morning my grand nephew was dedicated at Crossroads church. After I said goodbye to my family, I left to my church. I have had a lot of blessings this weekend. I feel like I am ready to make some changes in my life. I got my retirement papers and if all goes well, I will be officially retired around Oct. 1. I need to cut back on Farmville time so I get get some more important things done. I need to really start exercising and cut back on carbs again! I also want to work on my website. So much to do and evenings work best but then I don't get enough sleep. So you can see I have a list and I need to serious with it. I would appreciate prayers and encouragement. Today's Sayings: Birthdays and more, celebrating life!

Last Friday Jazzy and I celebrated our birthdays. She turned two and I turned 56. We went out to Chilis for dinner and I got a free brownie cake. The servers came out with the cake singing and it scared Jazzy a bit. Audrina was having fun with my musical card that hubby got me.








Saturday was Jazzy's party and it was nice to have family over. Edward's family was there and Jazzy had fun and received lots of presents. I am working on a birthday page for Jazzy now and will post it by Friday. Sunday we went out to TGIF and I got another chocolate cake. I am going to have to go back on the South Beach diet starting Tues. I have a good 10 pounds to lose now. This going off work and menopause has been a killer but mainly I eat to much junk.

My family was very generous and I got enough money to get my IPhone. It took me awhile to make up my mind between the IPhone and Droid. My son and I went to a Verizon store and I asked a lot of questions. I finally ordered my phone Tuesday night. We had also gone to Kolh's so I could return a gift, and use a $10.00 Kohl's cash with my 30% off coupon. Daniel could not get over the saving. I got 2 dresses, 1 blouse, a shirt for hubby and a shirt for Daniel and it came out to $48.00 I saved $124.00! I was going to go back tonight because the store closed before I was through shopping, but after ordering my phone and accessories, I decided not to.

I use to think that once I was home and not at work, I could get more done. Well in a way that is true. I get more of a few things done. A lot of my time is taken by Audrina. She is on the move and my front room is her playpen. She is happiest in the morning. I love to hear her babble as she plays with her toys and moves around the play area. Then she has her programs like Mickey, Bubble Guppies, Baby Einstein and Dora. I am off and on the farm trying to keep up with the quest. Just when I think I have completed the quest, another one is started. I have to make sure I don't spend so much time on the games because I have housework to do. My floors are looking good and the house is pretty organized. I do have baby toys all over my dining table as I sort them out and clean them. Some of the toys may be donated to our church.

I finally made my decision to retire Oct. 1st. I called HR and they will be sending my workbook and I will have to move fast to get it in on time. Marina told me she plans to quit working in November so that will work. Then I will look for a part time job nearby to supplement my income. I have peace about it and I will trust in God that all goes well. Bye for now.

Today's Sayings: Happy Anniversary to my hubby of 37 years!

We have been having great weather this week. Cool in the morning and breezy and sunny in the afternoon. It has been great since I have been getting a lot done around the house. I have to wait until my medicine kicks in for my shoulder. Saturday is Jazzy's birthday party here and we will have a house full. We are going to have a tostada bar along with home made beans, rice, salsa and quacamole. We are buying the chips and small corn tortillas at Superior Market. They make regular and chili flavor. THe small tortillas will be used for soft tacos. We are going to have chicken, ground beef and carnitas for the meat choices. Lots of yummy food! Jazzy;s birthday is actually in Friday, the 12th, born on my birthday. I remember I was so sad when I could not be there because we were in Hawaii for our 35th anniversary. I did not sleep much our last night there but was excited to share it with strangers our last day in Hawaii. Jr and I are planning a get away next weekend for our anniversary. The Cabin In The Forest Creative Adventures #4

1. While in a forest, you see a cabin ahead, you walk towards it but get sidetracked by the cool rocks you see on the ground. They sparkle as the sun rays shine down through the canopy of pine branches. Finally you make your way to the door and knock and no one answers but the door opens up. Today's Sayings: Sun yes, heat ok, humidy no!

Hi friends,We have had some humid weather that we are not use to. Sat. evening I was sitting out by my friend's pool until midnight. Then we all went on a midnight run to Wal-Mart. Sunday morning we woke up to thunder and rain. It was actually pretty nice. Andrew dropped off the Audrina and we took her to church so they could go to their Monavie convention. Monday my sister stopped by and her son, girlfriend and baby stopped by. It is so hard to believe that my siblings and I are all grandparents!

Dad stopped by the other day after spending a couple of days in Vegas with his friend Richard. Richard lost his wife a few years ago from breast cancer. Richard was really there for my dad and has been. They went ont he Panama canal cruise and tease each other about how people must think they are "a couple" We all laugh about it. Dad is taking another cruise in October. Dad had wanted to go on a med cruise with mom but because of her Alzheimers, they canceled the trip and went on the New England trip. My sister Ann and I got to go on that cruise. So dad has invited my sister Terry to go with him and my brother and his wife will be going too. I am so happy for all of them. Of course I wish my hubby and I could go, but with my work situation changed things for us and we can't afford it. We will be taking a small family vacation in Sept. in Las Vegas. My son has a time share and he upgraded it to a 3 bedroom with a kitchen. Hopefully Hubby and I will take another cruise for our 40th anniversary or a trip to NY. We will see what the future holds in store. I am content with life and my family. Thank you Lord for that. Hugs

Today's Sayings: What's the Buzzzz, tell me what's a happening?????

Hi friends, another week has flown by. Speaking of flying, we have had some flying pest at our home this summer. I got in the spa last week with the grand babies and they were enjoying it. The spa lid was just half open until Daniel came home and then he and Renee opened it all the way. Suddenly all these bees started buzzing and I realized there must have been a nest. I thought they were yellow jackets at first. So I yelled out to Renee to hurry and get the babies out fast. We ran into the house and all wet and just watched the bees swarm. Daniel sprayed then and they were not happy. Jr came home the next day with bee spray and sprayed and they were swarming again. The next day Jr unscrewd the corner of the spa and removed it and there were the honeycombs. Jr had to spray again and run. I felt bad that we had to destroy the honeycombs, but we were thinking of safety for the kids. Meanwhile we were noticing little flies in our house and looked it up...fruit flies. We usually leave our bananas out along with the sweet potatoes. Well now everything is covered and we have a jar of apple vinegar out to trap them. Hopefully they will be gone soon.

We have been watching the news about the heatwave in back east and are thankful we have not has much hot weather yet. But our hottest months are yet to come. My sister came over Saturday as well as my nephew and his girlfriend and their baby. Ysela is 2 months old and I love seeing my sister Terry with her grand daughter who looks just like Diego, Terry's son. Terry has a lot going for her now. Her oldest son Sergio and fiancee are making the wedding plans now. Then Terry will take her state boards to be a marriage and family therapist. Pray she passes this test the first time around.

I sent some pics to be developed and I was in a hurry and instead of requesting 2, I hit 20 for 2 pics. What a waste! From now on I will select true digital size so I don't cut off people's heads. I took the bee picture with my daughter's cellphone.

Today's Sayings: Memories of the past are worth remembering.

Last Friday I was suppose to go to a Pool party with some women from my church. I had every intention of going, but I felt I needed to be with my dad for the weekend. Today would have been his and my mom's 58 anniversary. I called my cousin Joanie up to let her know I was not going and explained why. Then I asked her if she wanted to go and she said yes. So after Audrina was picked up, I picked my cousin up and we stopped at Ross and Kohl's for a little shopping. Then we headed to Temecula. We stopped at Rosa's tortilla Factory and got some home made tortillas and food to take to my dad's. We enjoyed our dinner and after a bit my dad went to bed since he had to get up early the next day for his men's Bible study. Joanie and I had out laptops and played our games and watched movies until 3:30 and we slept in until 11:30. Dad had been to his study and was taking a nap. we had leftovers for lunch and then we went out to the pool area. The water was so nice and dad said we were like little girls. It was nice to see him relax and doze. Later we got met my sister and her husband at Black Angus. They just celebrated 33 years of marriage. They usually celebrated each year with my mom and dad. Laster we went to their house and had a nice time talking and watching the Smithsonian on TV. They were showing an ariel view of Maine. Dad and I were remembering out time there in 2008. Once we got home we had a snack and my sister Terry came over. We stayed up late again and slept in. We had brunch at MCDonald's and then we shopped at Winco. Once we were back home Joanie and I went through dad's music cd's. and organized. We also downloaded a lot of them, mostly big band music. We had dinner, packed up and headed home. We hope to go back in a couple of weeks and maybe take Joanie's mom. She was my mom's little sister. I just did a Bible study and one thing it stressed was knowing your priorities. My family is a priority and I want to spend as much time with my dad as I can. I am thankful to have a husband that understands that. Have a great week! Hugs

Today's Sayings: On the Go!!

Last Thursday(7th)I went to Encinitas Beach with my friends. We had a great time eating and shopping. We stayed up late and slept in late. We stayed at the Moonlight Hotel again which is 2 blocks from the beach. Funny thing is that Joanie and I missed our walk on the beach because the Olivia and Alice did not want to wake us up. So I plan to go to the beach in the next few weeks with Renee and the kids. Meanwhile I am doing core exercises to get back into shape. I go to Las Vegas in Sept.



Baby Audrina is 10 months now and on the go. Her little character is coming out. She is a happy baby and learning so many things. I always have a camera ready to share pictures. Jazzy is talking quite a bit now and Eddie's new work is "actually". It amazes me how kids learn to talk. He is really into his cars because of Cars 2. Poor Woody and his friends are missing him. I am so blessed by all my grandbabies. They make my heart smile.

Today's Sayings: Too many things!

I have been going through boxes and throwing things out and getting things ready for pickup on Thursday. I brought several boxes home from work when I left the department. Each year I uppack the summer things and pack the winter things. This year I am actually getting rid of things I don't wear. It is hard to get things done with the baby. She is on the move, crawling and reaching for everything. I am trying to decide if I want to stay home this weekend or go to Temecula and visit my dad. I know Renee wants to go and take the kids swimming. Edward is visiting for a few days and the kids are happy to see their dad. I finally decided to go off HRT and I was expecting major hot flashes, but they have been mild. I seem to be a little more tired lately. I think that the farming is getting to me. Maybe I need a vacation from the farms to get other things done.

Last Saturday we took Eddie and Jazzy to see Toy Story 2. Jr sat with Eddie. Then there was Renee, Jazzy, Daniel and me. We share popcorn and the kids did pretty well. The story was a little more in depth for Eddie but he wants to see it again. Maybe he can go with my sister and her son when we are in Temecula.

Today's Sayings: Happy Father's Day!

I had a great Father's Day weekend which actually started on Friday. Renee and I took the babies to the park and Jr and Daniel joined us. The weather has been nice in the afternoon until when the sun sets around 8pm. Saturday I slept in and it was great! I spent a couple of hours doing'housework ,then played on my farms for awhile. My dad and sister arrived. Then my nephew and his girlfriend arrinved wth the new baby Ysela. The Y sounds like an I and she was born on Memoiral day. Adriana is a studen at UC Berleley and it on summer break. It was really great seeing my sister with her first grand child. They stayed for awhile but did not join us for dinner because they do not want to take the baby out yet. Adriana had a home birth and she looks great. My brother and sisters and family met up at BJ's to celebrate Father's Day. Each dad got a drinking glass with BJ's Father's Day 2011 in it. The food is always great there. Afterwards Renee and I went to Trader Joes and Micahels. Dad went home with Jr and Daniel. Jr picked up breakfast this morning and we enjoyed our morning with coffee before heading off to church. The message was really good and at the end Pastor Jim had all the Father's go up for prayer. Then we went for lunch at Eduard's because my dad and Jr really like the food there. The rest of the day was restful. I am blessed to have my dad with me until he joins mom in heaven. I pray that will not be for many years. Renee and I plan to take the kids to the park several times this week. Have a great week! Hugs

Today's Sayings:Enjoying a relaxing weekend in Temecula.

Saturday-dinner at Terry's. Sergio made home made corn tortillas, grilled chicken, rice, beans and salsa. Then Terry and I went shopping. Dad and Sergio watched a movie. Today we went to The Manhattan Restaurant and Bakery for lunch. Later we are going to the movies to see the classic Gone With The Wind.

Right now it is a beautiful clear sunny day in California. The weather is in the mid 70's and just beautiful. I just came in from the backyard patio at my parents home. I know mom is in heaven, but she is in my heart forever. I try to come out here once a month to spend a weekend with dad. It is so peaceful here. I am listening to praise music. I really do thank God for all that I have. I have peace in my life and though there are things happening that will change our future, I am content, trusting in God to provide.

I am blessed to spend time with my family. I watched Audrina half day on Friday and had Eddie too. After she was picked up I told Eddie that we were going for a walk to the market and he said "and the park too Mema" I said yes. So he ran upstairs and came down all dressed up. He had put on jeans with a belt his dad bought him. He had his Mario Cart shirt and his Toy Story backpack. He had a hat on with his curls popping out. Finally he had out on his new tennis shoes on. I told he he did a great job getting himself ready. I told him to change his shoes and he looked down and said "mommy has to tell me that too sometimes" Then he said "that ok" I grabbed my hat, sunglasses, purse and Ralph's grocery bags. We walked to the partk which is just a couple of blocks from our house and Eddie climbed on the equipment. I even went up and then down the yube slide. Ok so this Mema is really out of shape but I just laughed at the site I must have been, holding onto my purse and sliding down. Then we walked through the rest of the park and got to the busy intersection. It was a good talk to Eddie about traffic lights and cars. I told him he could not go in the street by himself ever. Then he said "only with Mama and Mema" We got to the other side and headed through the shopping center. I explained what all the stores were. He knew about the bank already. There was a donut shop which we passed and he asked about it. I told him donuts had sugar and he said"mommy says sugar is bad for me." Made me laugh because a couple of weeks ago they passed out candy at Sunday school and he took it and put it in his mouth then spit it out and gave it back to the teacher and told her that candy was not good and "mommy says I can't eat candy, it is not good for me". The teacher told this to Renee and Renee told Eddie was a good boy for telling the truth. He does get healthy sweet treats that he enjoys like craisins and fruit roles. Things that have natural sugar in them. Ok back to our walk. We went into the dog grooming store and I showed him the dog that was getting groomed. When I got to Ralph's I deposited my money at the bank and then headed to the summer isle and there was a Cars 2 dispaly with cars. They had them on sale, 2 for $7.00. I told him he could pick one and so he did and then I got another one to give him later but he thinks it is going to his cousin Micah. He can hardly wait until the moive comes out. We are all going to go. Everyday he sees his "Ampa and says "Ampa, Cars 2!" Meanwhile he plays with his toy cars.




We walked home but this time both my hand held grocery bags so I told him to hold onto one of the bags. We stopped at the park so he could have one more climb on the gym. He was climing up one side while holding a rope and I told him that is how firemen do it. So he wanted to do it again now that he had a fireman hat from the Dollar Tree Store. This time a little boy was blocking his way on purpose and he looked me and then at the boy. I told him to say excuse me and then go. The little boy heard me so he moved. I was pretty tired when we got back. Renee drove up and Jazzy was all happy to see me and ran to me and said "Amma" So Eddie calls me Mema but for some reason Jazzy calls me Amma. I guess because Jr is called Ampa and she decided I was Amma. I am ok with either because I love them! My Grand daughters love Dora and Jazzy will have a Dora them party in August. Thank you Lord for my beautiful grand children. For the time I have with my dad and family. Thank you for my friends!

Today's Sayings: Busy Family Time.....

Sunday our family got together to celebrate the anniversary of my mom's death. The headstone was finally put in place and we thought it would be a nice way celebrate the holiday weekend and birthdays that were not celebrated last year. My sister Terry and her family were not there because they were up in Berkeley awaiting the birth of a new baby in the family. Isela Gabriella arrived 5:25 am on Monday morning. My sister texted through the hours of the morning with updated so I slept in on Monday and then went to dinner with my friends. I could not get my computer to work all day Tuesday. I tried one more before I went to bed and it started up again. I am afraid to turn it off. I have been saving things to flash drives. The computer works well when it is one so I am baffled. I do have my slow desktop that is my back up. I have enough things to keep me busy. I took Audrina for 2 walks around the block today and it was nice. I hope to walk again tomorrow if I can. I need to find time to color my hair too so we will see. I am going to dinner with my friends on Friday so we can plan our 4 day get away in July that we do every year. Well I better get ready for bed. Hugs

Today's Sayings:My computer has crashed and won't come back.

Yes my laptop is not working at all. I think I downloaded a few things this past week and I think the problem comes from that. My dad gave me the name of his computer guy and my dad even offered to pick it up and drop it off for me on his way to OC. So now I am sharing the old desktop with Renee. I have limited use during the day because of the baby. Then I have to wait until Renee has done her homework before I check it at night. It was easy to use my laptop and still be in the room with the baby. So I made it through the first day. I only wish I had backed up more things but I have most of what I need.

I really enjoyed this Survivor series and glad that Boston Rob one. I wish Matt had one the 100,000 dollars since he is a pre-med student. I made good use of my time today. I napped with the baby. Later I went through some paperwork and tossed out a bag. I need to look in the garage for the box my computer came in and I hope to do that tomorrow. Well I am going to check my farms and get to bed early. Pray I can get my computer back to working condition. Thanks

Today's Sayings:Not enough hours......

I try to post every Monday now, but the days just slipped by. I had a great weekend. Saturday I had my hair done my friend's daughter. It was a thank you gift for helping her with her bridal shower. She gave me a cut, color and style at no charge. I am not use to the darker shade but I will add some more red to it. After hubby came home, we stopped at the cemetary to leave my mom some flowers and a ballon. Saturday late afternoon we celebrated my sister in laws 50th birthday. My brother gave her a surprise party and she was so surprised! There was lots of good food and we had a nice time. Sunday we went to church and the two women pastors gave a great message on the value of a woman. Then we went to lunch with my inlaws. When we got home I took a much needed nap!

Good thing I was rested because Audrina was sick on Monday. She threw up 6 times and Marina came home and we took her to the drs. Good that I went with her because the baby threw up on the way there and then while the we were waiting for the Dr. and then again when the Dr. was checking her. We also found out that Audrinas cousin was admitted with rotovirus, a stomach flu. Marina brought her on Tuesday and though she had a slight fever, she was taking her bottles. Andrew and Marina kept calling me. Then around 2 baby got the runs bad so they came home and took her to the Dr. I was pretty busy but having been through it, I was ok. It was much harder on the new parents. So Marina took off work Wed. and Thurs. to take care of the baby and hubby who was now sick. I took the time to wash everything. They will bring her tomorrow for a few hours so Marina can get some work done. They were suppose to go to Sacramento for a 4 day weekend but called it off.

Friday I am going to Temecula to spend a couple of days with my dad. I haven't been there is awhile and I need a quiet weekend. I have some paperwork to do for my job so I can get paid. I really have to strech my hours now so I need to put down what days I want to use sick leave and what days I will use lwop-leave without pay., hence not enough hours, but I need last until the end of Sept. It is not the way I wanted to end my career, but as I was telling my friend Judy, LIFE HAPPENS. There are things we have no control over. We can only make the best of what we can and move on. Saturday we plan to go to the movies with my siters. I think we are going to see Jumping the Broom. When I leave Temecula on Sunday, I will stop by Winco to stock up on things. They have really good prices and I really have to watch my money. Oh Renee got her insurance money and got her new mommy car. I will post pictures later.

Today's Sayings: May the 4th be with you
and Happy Cinco De Mayo!

We have had hot weather the past few days and it will cool a bit. Today we are having Mexican food for Cinco De Mayo, A traditional Mexican holiday and a party day in the US like St Patricks Day. I am cooking a pot of beans now. I cooked a whole chicken last night and we plan to have chicken tostadas and Mexican rice, using the chicken broth. You will find some of my recipes Here

I talked about having to make a choice. Well I made it and her I am with my dad. He gave me one of mom's rings. Mom gave me a ring in 2004 that I wear on my left hand. I am wearing a cross she gave me when I renewed my vows at our 25th anniversary in 1999. I am glad all my sisters will enjoy her jewlery along with our memories.

Today's Sayings: April goes out with a royal colors.

I was one of the many that stayed up all night to watch the Royal wedding. It was just beautiful. I pray they get their privacy and that they have a baby soon! Speaking of soon, 21 days until the my sister's grand daughter gets here.

Like last year, the Easter weekend weather was was overcast and cool but it was still nice for the Easter Egg hunt at church. Areas are sectioned off according to age. 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-9, 10-11. The youngest go first and once Jazzy found one egg, she stopped to see if she could open it, not caring what was going on around her. Eddie was super excited and took off collecting as many eggs as he could. Then he showed us a gold egg and said this one is different! He had found one of the special eggs. He was really happy to get his basket and proud to show it to everyone. Sunday morning we gave the kids there basket and then we gave Audrina's at church. Renee and the kids went to Temecula with us while Marina and Andrew went with her family. Last year there was an earthquake on Easter. It is times like this when I really miss my mom. I will make the most of my time with my dad. He is looking forward to the family get together at the cemetary for a 1 year memorial with all the family. We will meet there to see her new stone and put flowers and share our thoughts and take family pictures. Then we will go to my brothers to celebrate Memorial Day. My sister may not be there because her grand daughter is due the 23rd. We will see!

Today's Sayings: Friends+Family=Love

The week sure goes by quickly. The weather changes as quicky as the days. It was so nice last week and this week we will have rain and cool temps are predicted for Easter. My sister called me after reading my last post. She help me make up my mind and I have decided what piece of jewlery I will be choosing. I suspect we will get our pieces on Memorial Weekend when the family will meet at the cemetary to honor the anniversary of my mom's death. Hard to believe almost a year has gone by.

I spent time with my family and friends this weekend and it was nice. It ended with me having lunch at Chilis with my friends Joanie, Alice and Olivia. We are planning a weekend to get away to my dads to scrap, and maybe swim and of course, eat! I better start thinking about bathing suits to get me motivated to exercise! I also need to call the HR department up to get information on retiring. I plan to retire by the end of Oct. We will see what happens. I will leave it in God's hands to help me with whatever I need to do. Have a great week! Hugs

Today's Sayings: Dates to remember...

This past weekend my husband and I had the house to ourselves. Renee and the kids spent Saturday at Disneyland, and Sunday at California Adventure. They had been planning this for awhile since Disney offers the "two for $99" Both parks at that price is a steal! So Jr and I went shopping and out to dinner. We talked about our future and our family and the upcoming dates. I know that we all have dates that we need to remember, a birthday, an anniversary, a death, a holiday. Tomorrow is April 12 and my niece Natalie's birthday. April 5th was my grand nephew's birthday and his party is onthe 17th. Then there are those obsure dates that only have meaning to you or a few. April 12th, 1980 was also the day I conceived my son Andrew. I know most women don't know the specific date, but I had been trying to get pg for 3 years and had already had 3 miscarriages. I was charting my temperature and knew I was pregnant and I called the drs for a blood test. Because of bleeding and my past history, I was high risk and had to be on bedrest and take hormone shots. Andrew was born Jan. 15, 1981. So what other dates are there. How about the day of your first period, your first kiss, or the first time you had sex? Then there are dates you don't want to remember. As I get older, I have to keep a date book to make sure I keep track of things. Now that I am not working or actively involoved in church, I don't have as many dates to keep track of. But I know one thing, time seems to be going by to quickly. I had a dream where I was telling someone I was almost 60 when I am still 55. But still, where did the years go? I use to thinki 75 was really old and now I say my mom was to young to die and she was 75. Time is not in our control as much as we try to control the things in our life. I am glad that I am more relaxed about things. Life isn't flying past me the way it use to when I had every day planned with something. Now I make sure I treasure the time I have and that is usually with the people and things that mean the most to me. Today's Sayings: Arpil fools, a few days of summer.

I only have a short time to make 2 decisions. The first is about retiring. I have to be ready to retire by the end of May when my sick leave retires. Hubby says that a buy out is boung to happen but it is only speculation at this point. I would hate to miss out on it but I can't go without any pay. The other thing is making a decision on what piece/s of jewlery do I want from my mom. My dad has listed the value and we can each pick a set amount. So if I choose the most expensive piece, that is all I get. Or I can choose several pieces that equal the amount of the one piece. I am the oldest and get first choice. I am not big into jewlery but I am sentimental. One of the pieces was a ring my parents gave my grandmother, my dad's mom. Another was my mom's watch. Each of us will submit our request. There are 3 of us girls and my brother's wife is also included and that is great since we love her like our own sister. My mom worked for Zales Jewlers for many years. She new her dimaonds for sure! My mom had 3 minks that went to my siters and I chose the fake because she wore it the most and my daughter hates dead things and it will eventually go to her. Somedays I really miss her. We will be having a small memorial at the anniversary of her death which happens to be around Memorial Day weekend. The newest member of the family is due around then too. I couldn't get a good shot but I wanted to share this picture with you.

Today's Sayings:Times moves to quickly!

A year ago today our family went to Disneyland. Most of us earned our way there through the Disney Program that gives back to the community. We are planning on going at Christmas this year. Though we live around 30 miles away, we don't go often because it averages $100 per adult and that is a low figure. I started buying a few things for the grands Easter Baskets. Our church has an Easter Egg hunt that our whole family looks forward to and that is in a month. We are going to my sister's house in Temecula. We were there last year and there was an earthquake that day. Speaking of earthquakes, I feel for the people of Japan. They have gone through so much. I have expereinced many of them and I never get use to them. My heart just races when we have one. I plan to add more pictures this week and change my blog to spring. With the weather really warms up, I even may spend some time in the garden. I plan to do something in memory of my mom and Reina. Have a blessed week. Hugs

Today's Sayings: Is it really spring? :)

Sunday was the frist day of spring and we got rain and this morning it is pouring and I hear thunder too.Friday it was so nice and Edward and I took the kids for a walki to the park. Renee was in a car accident on Thursday and so he was here for a few days to help out with the kids. She is pretty sore right now. The other driver took off but she has witnesses not to mention the person she hit. My sister Terry came over Saturday and we enjoyed lunch at Olive Garden before shopping for the baby shower. We did most of the decorating and cleaning then. Sunday we did the rest and everything looked great and the shower was a success. Terry's son Sergio made beans and shrimp ceviche, and spicy shredded chicken to go on tostadas. My sister Ann brought rice and my sister in law Cindy brought a fruit platter. We provided the shreeded pork and friend chicken, chips, quacomole and salsa. Renee made cupcakes and Marina made chocolate dipped strawberries.

Today's Sayings: Hats off to springlike weather

The weather has been great and so typical of March with rain and sun. I have started my spring cleaning but it takes time because I am so busy with Audrina. I have had a chance to take some walks with Audrina and Eddie. Sunday is the baby shower so I will be busy busy getting ready. I have a growing pile of give away and I feel good about decluttering. So here a few pics of the babies. They sure make me smile.

Today's Sayings: tears for baby and me.......

I had a nice weekend. I got to sleep in on Sat! Hubby and I went shopping for paint and a light fixture for the upstairs bathroom. The paint will also be used in the bedroom that Eddie sleeps in. Later I went shopping with my friend and then dinner. Sunday we went to church and then to lunch at TGIF. I went to Dos Lagos in So Corona. I discovered this kitchen store and got a few items. Then we walked to Trader Joes to get my favorite Jasmine Green Tea. Finally we stopped at Michaels and got a few more items for the baby shower I am having on the 20th. Monday was a busy day because Audrina did not feel well. The dr. feels she is still a bit under weight for her height so he wants her eating cereals 3 times a day. Problem, constipation. Monday I had her until 11pm since Andrew and Marina had a meeting to go to with Monivie. Today she seemed a little better and Mema(me) used AD ointment to help things along and soothe things, poor baby did cry out a few times but she finally did her business a few times. Okay, now the tears from me. Last Friday I got a call from my work saying they had work for me for 3 weeks, with the hours I needed. I told the girl I would discuss it with my husband but I knew in my heart I did not want to go back. I finally called the HR girl and as I stared to talk, I started crying. I think all the feeling I had gone through just surfaced. The HR girl was very understanding. She said that she would note that I was in the process of retiring and she would not try to find me work. I felt so much better and hubby and family were very supportive. So I have bypassed extra hours/money and I am happy with the decision. My family is what is important and I thank God everyday!

Today's Sayings: Happy 6 month birthday Audrina!

Time sure flies when you are busy! As I mentioned, I watch Audrina 10 hours a day. Lets see, that is 5-6 diaper changes, 3-4 bottles, cereals with veggies and at least one complete change. She is a pretty easy baby. She only whines when she is tired like now so I need to come back to this.

Today's Sayings: Special days a happening.

Hi friends, it has been another full week. Friday I watched Audrina from 6am to 11pm So it sure felt great to sleep in on Saturday. I enjoyed my morning, showered and fixed my hair. Then my friends and I went to Olive Garden for lunch. We always have the soup and salad lunch. I start out with the Zuppa Toscana. There is sausage, potatoes and kale in a light creamy broth. Then I order the Pasta Fagoli which is meat, beans and veggies in a hearty red broth. It is all the soup, salad and breadsticks you can eat. Afterwards we went to the mall and did a bit of shopping. My friend Olivia is getting the final things done for her daughters Vanessa's wedding. My cousin Joanie and I helped Olivia with the bridal shower. Vanessa gave us thank you cards that included a free cut and color. Vanessa is a hair stylist at a nice salon in town.
My cousin Joanie has a whirlwind weekend and some of you might have seen her post on Facebook. She was able to go with her aunt to Washington DC. Her aunt, Sylvia Mendez was honored at the White House for her role as spokesperson for her parents that has made history. To make a long story short, Sylvia's dad, brought up a case called Mendez vs Westminster. They won the case whick lead to the desegregation of schools in California. This case was used later in Brown VS the Board of Education at Federal court that led to desegragtion in the United States. Syliva travels all over the United States telling children that they are entitled to an equal education. My cousin Joanie has been very involved with her grandma and a school was names for her grandparents in Santa Ana CA. Another school in Los Angeles has been named in their honor. Pictures and the story can now be found in many places like the Museum of Tolerane in Los Angeles. My cousin Joanie will some day take on the role of speaker for the Mendez Legacy. Joanie and her family were invited to the White House and met the President and his wife. Joanie met several of the other winners like George Bush Sr. She showed us the program and shared her expeince of being able to have full clearance at the white House, enjoying the food and music and observing the President and Michelle Obabma. I am so happy for my cousin to be able to have had this experience. You can read about it here

The other highlight of my week was watching my grand daughter being dedicated at church today. It was a blessing. My son Andrew met his wife Marina at church when they were young. When she turned 16, they started dating. Andrew asked Marina for her hand in marriage one night at Bible study. They were married in our new church in 2005 and Audrina was born in Sept of 2010. Pastor Jim told the story of Hannah who was barren and asked God for a baby and God blessed her with Samuel(God has heard) When Samuel was old enough, she took her son back to the temple and he was raised with the priest to serve the Lord. Samuel became a wise spiritual leader/prophet. Pastor Jim said that we the parents dedicate our chidlren to the Lord. We bring them up to know God and to serve God. When a child is old enough, they make the decision to get water baptised and an outward symbol of their faith. After church my dad and I went to get some tacos and we were there for over an hour talking. Then we went to Andrew's house were the family had an early dinner. There are times I really miss mom but I know where she is and I will see her again. I know that her legacy of family carries on. I am blessed.

Today's Sayings: Changing weather, changing days.

Hi everyone, I can't believe how many days have gone by since I was last here. I have started a post a few time and then got sidetracked. Renee and I spent the weekend with my dad. The kids did well on the ride there with the ba ck seat tvs they got for Christmas. I dropped Renne and the kids off and my sister came to visit. I left to get a haircut because I wanted to add more layers. Then I went to a Valentine party with my dad that was given by his men's Bible study group. There were appetizers and deserts and it was all yummy. Sunday we went out to brunch and then we took the kids to the Temecula Duck Pond. The weather was perfect! When we got back I set my dad's new laptop up with his favorite places and Facebook. I will go back in a few weeks to show him a few more things. So now I am home emjoying the quiet in the house.

Today's Sayings: Bottles, diapers, soaps oh my!

I am almost retired but I am making/washing bottles, and mixing cereal and baby food. I get to change orange and green diapers and rock and rock. I am a grandma like my grandmas. My mom was always busy working in Real Estate and didn't watch my kids much. I didn't think I would be doing this but I am happy. I get to enjoy all my grandkids and even watch my long lost soaps. Before I go to bed I check on Eddie and cover him as he sleeps. I play dolls with Jazzy and pick her up while callimg me "ampa cause she can't say Mema. I love being home. My only downfall being home is eating and not getting enough exercise except for going around the house trying to get things done and taking care of Audrina. I suspect I will be helping Renee more to. She has signed up for 3 online classes and decided she wants to be a respiratory therapist. She has done all the paper work and is getting financial aid for books. Now she just needs to have the time to read and do her work on the computer. Renee has "preschool" for Eddie every day. She got a book and he likes doing his homework each day. He knows all his letters and sounds. He knows same and different. He pointed to the lights in the bathroom and said the light that was on was different. He pointed to the lights that wre off and said they were the same. He is potty trained now and quite proud of it. He still has his moments were he gets super mad if things aren't just the way he likes it. For example, Woody's hat has to be on just right. Jazzy likes to eat and has the chubby cheeks to prove it. She says eat, more. I ask her if she wants more and she says "ya, more" She plays with her baby doll now. Today I asked her if she wanted to hold Audrina and she sad still on the couch ans help out her arms. I helped her and she kissed Audrina on the head. I saw Eddie go over and kiss Audrina too. It is so sweat. With all that said and as much as I love my grandbabies, I sure do enjoy my quiet time. I started 2 new series this season, Hawaii Five O and Off the Map. Jr and I love to see the places in Hawaii that we have been too. We also like to see a program called Blue Bloods which is a about a family of Police officers in NY. Then I like to see the CSI's and other mystery programs. I never thought I would watch so much tv but with a DVR is is possible. I am ususally "on the farm" while watching tv. So the house is quiet, and now I want to make time to blog, well something this week! :)

Today's Sayings: Trying to make the most of my time. Need more sleep!

Did I mention I am a night owl? I love to stay up late and sleep in. But baby Audrina gets here around 6:15 and gets picked up at 4:45. I love wathcing her, just can't get a lot done because I love to hold her when she sleeps. I know I need to get her use to a crib. I can play FV with one hand and hold her while she sleeps. After dinner and watching the State of the Union address, I went and got a haircut. Then I stayed up playing and watching CSI shows. I woke up this morning when my son gently called me to say they were there. I guess I need to set my alarm and go to bed earlier. Today we tried Similac Sensitive after having tried two soybase formulas. We mixed mommy's milk with the formula and she took it! First we tried with the cereals. She made a little face but then took it. Then after our walk she took the bottle no problem. Yea!!!! What a relief because she needs to gain a little more weight. It was a bit windy but we decided to walk anyways and we all enjoyed it. My legs are sore because it is hilly here. I cooked beans today and made chicken tacos. Andrew and Marina brought desert and we had a nice dinner. Andrew gave Eddie a haircut and Eddie loved it. Renee dropped my camera and it broke, so no pictures today. Well I am happy being a housewife and "mema". Tomorrow I plan to make grilled chicken quesedillas. Off to watch American Idol now. Hugs

Today's Sayings: Spring already?

Hi friends, hope you all had a nice weekend. We had nice weather last week and will this week too. So I plan to take Audrina for walks everyday. I have to make sure I put sunblock on and wear a hat. I have a busy week ahead. I need to color my hair, hopefully on Monday after they get Audrina. Then there is women's Bible study and a praise and worship night this week. Friday I will be helping my friend get ready for her daughter's bridal shower which is on Saturday. I got to bring out my china so she could have what she needs for the shower. It made me think of the day long ago when my mom and I went shopping together so I could register for my china and crystal. I don't use it much, but maybe I should. Maybe I will for Easter. I was able to find pieces on Ebay and other centers. I will take pictures of the table setup to share her next week. Have a great week. Hugs

Today's Sayings: Happy Birthday to my son Andrew and Marin Luther King!

Andrew turned 30 on Saturday and my family met at Miguels in Corona for dinner. My dad was really happy to have most of his family there. It was the first time all 6 great grandkids were there. My picture did not come out with my dad and the kids. We also celebrated the rest of the January birthdays. After church on Sunday we went out to eat with my inlaws to celebrate my FIL's birthday. Marina has the day off so I am just playing on the computer today. It is in the low 80's outside and I am thinking of getting in the spa. I start my diet tomorrow. I plan to take Audrina for a daily walk so that should help too. Have a great week. Hugs

Today's Sayings: A touch of spring warms the soul!

We are having spring like weather so I thought it would be great to take Audrina for a walk. I guess I felt energetic since I had gone to bed at 8pm the previous night. I enjoy the quiet of the morning as I wait for Audrina to be dropped off. So my little walk around the block end up being a 45 minute walk to the park that we both enjoyed. I plan to do it again tomorrow since it will be warmer. I will need to leave earlier to avoid the heat. Playing with Audrina is like having Andrew all over again. Speaking of my firstborn, he will turn 30 on Saturday! Can't believe how the years have gone by. He was my first miracle baby. I had 3 miscarriages before him. I bled off and on for 4 months while carrying him and had to have shots to stay pregnant. I was on bedrest most of my pregnancy. I had to go back to work when he was 8 weeks old so I know how it was hard for Marina to go back. But with technolgy, I can send her pics and texts to let her know how things are going. My cell phone is over 2 years old and it is hard to take pictures outside because I cannot see the screen in bright light. Here are two from today's walk.

Today's Sayings: Planned Routines need to be flexible!

It is Sunday evening and I had a nice weekend. It was good to be at church after missing 2 weeks in a row. Last week I watched my grand daughter Audrina for 3 days and it was great to bond with her more. I held her, prayed for her and her parents, and just spent time being content as I refleced on the changes in my life. I will have a tentative routine as I watch her, knowing that I need to stay flexible.

Saturday I had lunch with my cousin Joanie and my cousin Lisa. Their moms are the younger sisters of my mom. It was great to share stories and memories of the past years. We all had great memories of times at our grandparents house. We met at the Orange Circle and ate at a Cuban placed called Felix Continental Cafe We stayed for a late lunch and then ordered coffee and desert. We plan to meet up again and see if we can get more cousins to join us. While we were there, we discussed health and Lisa brought up the benefits of Kale. I have never bought it until today. Turns out it is the green "stuff" in the Zuppa Toscana soup I like at Olive Garden. Here is some information on Kale.Here is a recipe for Bean with Kale soup

Now I need to get back to an early bed time schedule. Luckily Audrina still sleep a lot in the morning.I love to rock her and I see Andrew her daddy when I look down at her. This week I plan to get the rest of my Christmas ornaments put away. The tree will be the last thing to be put away. I hate to see it go. It has such pretty colored lights on it and just perfect for the early morning when the bring Audrina. Maybe I will leave it up longer. After all, I can be flexible. :) Have a blessed week. Hugs

Today's Sayings: Happy New Year!

I was able to spend the New Year weekend with my dad. We went out to Black Angus with my sister Ann and her husband Ernie. Dad and I watched tv in his room. I enjoyed the nearby fireplace at played on my computer while dad worked on his address list. Saturday morning we went to see dad's 6th and newest great grandson Oliver who made his appearance on Dec 21. So all the babies that were due when we got together for mom's last Mother's Day are here. Then another baby will be due around the anniversary of mom's death. So life goes on, a circle of love. The Monday after Christmas we went to the Los Angeles Farmers Market and Santa Monica Pier. The weather was so beautiful and hubby was enjoying his week off after the busy Christmas season. This new year will bring big changes for us. I will officially retire by spring time. I start watching Audrina tomorrow while I am off. Marina went back to work today and we mom's who have had to go back to work no how hard that first day is. It also means no more late nights for me since I will have to get up by 5:15 each day. It also will limit my day time activities on the computer. Jr's job was abolished and now he has to bid on a new job. He will have to learn a route scheme and do window training. The worse part is the new jobs all have split days off. Well whatever comes our way, we are trusting in God to get us through it.
