Today's Saying: Happy New Year!

It took me awhile to get this blog changed over to winter. Please pray for my cousin Joanie. She had a stress induced heart attack and I was with her. I will write about it more later in my next blog post. It is almost 4am!

Today's Saying: Relaxing and reflecting.

Christmas Morning.

It feels so good to just relax in bed. The nights have been in the 30's and the days in the 60's. That is cold for us in So Ca. I finally did turn on the heater right before Christmas, but I sleep better when it is cold. I have not done much shopping except for a few storage containers. I did find some ornaments for the tree in my bedroom. I did have stars on it but not I have changed it over. It has white, black and silver bulbs with small silver garland. I will have to take a picture of it. I am working on my Christmas page that I have done every year since 2002 and listed at my Christmas site. I better get bck to it.

Today's Saying: Busy, fun, days!

The days are just flying by!Saturday we went to Knotts Berry Farm and we had a really nice time. The kids enjoyed camp Snoopy. The day was cold but still nice. Right after we sat down for our chicken dinner, it started to rain. We loved the ice show and there was even a scene with Linus reciting the Christmas story. On Sunday my whole family got together for our Christmas celebration at Miguel's. It seems to be our new tradition. They give us 6 tables in the back of their large seating room. We bring our own dessert and the grands exchange gifts. We honor our parents by still getting together and we get to celebrate with our own families on Christmas day. After leaving there we went to our church to watch the Living Nativity. Finally on Sunday, my friends came over for Chicken Pozole. Hubby made the which is normally made with pork. He can't eat pork so he uses chicken. It was so good. Joanie brought rice, Alice brought chips and salsa and Olivia brought desert. We exchanged gifts and just talked about our blessings and the fact that we have been getting together for 20 years! I found one program that works for picture editing. I will keep checking.

Today's Saying: Oh Come Let Us Adore Him

I am on my new computer and it is so fast! I have had it a couple of days, but I was busy. Yesterday I went to the Chris Tomlin Adore Concert in Riverside. I bought the tickets back in September and I surprised my cousin Joanie with a ticket too. It was a great concert and it also included recording artist Lauren Daigle. She has a beautiful voice! It was great. Joanie and I walked around the Mission Inn before the concert and had a great dinner before the concert. Today I set up my new computer, another Toshiba. I have added Norton back on and I need to add my Office program next, but it can wait. Tomorrow we are going to Knotts Berry Farm with the family. Sunday we have my family Christmas gathering and there will be 37 of us! We will go to the Live Nativity program at my church. I hope to add more pictures with my next post.

Today's Saying:Dear Santa, I need a new computer please.

My dad's laptop will not work, and I am using my first laptop that only works occasionally. The fan does not work and gets overheated and shuts down so I have to be fast here. The days have been so busy! Hubby and I went to Disneyland's California Adventure on Thursday and I finally got him to go on the big roller coaster with me. We shopped on Friday and enjoyed some soup at a local Vietnamese place. Saturday I went to a Christmas party with women from my church. Then the grands came over for baking cookies. Today we saw Eddie play basket ball, Watched the Peanuts Movie and attended Audrina's Christmas program at church. Home now catching up on movies. Computer is hot so I am going to have to leave soon.

Today's Saying: Christmas Everywhere!

I have been busy decorating. I thought I could keep it simple, but I have so much and I enjoy what I have. As long as I am able I will have fun decorating because you never know what can happen. The grankids say it looks like a store. They told me how they decorated their own tree and I keep sending them home with more ornaments. We went to Old Town Orange and we found a few things we liked. We found an old Fisher Price train with 2 hippos and an elephant. The older grands played with it for awhile. Eddie wanted to know why the ear was missing on the elephant and one leg was missing on the hippo. I told him that it was an old toy we found in a store that sells old things. Even though it was missing a few things, the train was still fun to play with. I know Elijah will like playing with it. My siblings and I visited my aunt last Saturday and I hope to go today to see her. She is ready to go and she is in pain so we are praying for the same. If you go to my Christmas site, I have a page called Christmas in Heaven.

Today's Saying: It's beginning to look like Christmas!

We had a great Thanksgiving. We had a few fall things up but we had our tree up and then I added the village. In honor of the 50 year anniversary of Peanuts, we decorated our mantel with our Peanuts Family.

I finally changed my blog to Christmas so if you don't see it, refresh your browser. Please keep my Aunt Rosemary in prayer. She has entered hospice and has very little time left. My siblings and I and went to see her and show our support to our cousin. I know my dad will be happy to see his sister when she gets to heaven. I hope to post again on Monday. Happy Sunday!

Today's Saying: Happy Sunday!

My lower back is back to normal and thank you for the prayers. It actually felt better on Thursday and was fine on Friday for our 14 hour day at Disneyland!

Eddie had a great time and he said he would never forget his day with us. Disneyland is a magical place, but nothing is better than experiencing it with your grandchild. We have been very blessed to be there with all our grandchildren and to spend a day with each of the 3 older grandchildren. A day to give them special attention and create special memories. It was so much fun to experience the new Star Wars features that started this week. I plan to make a birthday page for Eddie. We also got to go to his last soccer game and see him get his trophy on Saturday.

I have been packing away my fall things to get ready for Christmas. I have a huge Christmas Village collection and no place to put them. I am not sure I want to put them on the mantle because of the weight. I moved a bookcase to the entryway thinking I might put them there, but still not sure. I would love to paint the oak case to white since the entry is so dark. We really need a new front door and that will come next year. Once I do decorate, I will know what I can keep and what I need to get rid of. That is not an easy thing to do, but it has to be done. Wish me good luck!

Today's Saying: Happy 8th birthday to my grandson Eddie!

We will be having the family over for dinner and Eddie has requested hamburgers. So Ampa bought most of the things for it except the meet which we will get today. We are having a Star Wars theme since it is his favorite now. I am also pretty excited about it since I use to play Star Wars with my sons when they were little. I have seen all the movies and will be going to the Force Awakens after it opens. I have purchased several Star Wars items for Christmas gifts this year and I was lucky to find several action figures at Walmart. When I was at Toys R Us on Sunday, I found a Lego Brick Christmas Story Book and it is the Nativity Christmas story with Legos. I grabbed a few to give out to each family. I was there to pick up a Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar for me. I will let the kids play with it but I will keep it here so I can play with it too! I got the last advent game and looked at all stores in a 50 mile radius. It is even sold out at the Lego site! Sure wish they made that Nativity set to sell!

Today's Saying: San Diego Family Fun!

We had a great time this past weekend with the grands in San Diego. My grand daughter Audrina just loves Pandas. He birthday was in Septemeber but we waited to go this weekend. Children are free in the month of October with each paying adult. I am working on a web page cause the grands love to see themselves on my webpages. But here is a picture to share for now.

I just love this picture!

We also celebrated my husband's birthday at Seaport Village in San Diego. Next year we plan to go to Sea World. My son Andrew and his wife have a time share so we plan to go to Las Vegas in January. They also hope to book a time share in Hawaii in 2 years. God willing it will happen.

I have a prayer request, my cousin Joanie's husband has bone cancer and it has damaged his kidney's. Please pray for Bobby and Joanie. Thank you!

Today's Saying: Trying to clear out things.

I finally made it to the eye doctor and the Kasier by where I live, just about 5 minutes away. She said my vision has not changed that much but my cataracts are worse, but still not bad enough for surgery. She said I need to wear glasses all the time now. I will go back next week to look for glasses. They have a lot of designer frames, but I think I can get a better price at Costco. Before the appointment and afterwards I worked in the garage. The nights are getting cooler and the garage is not as hot. Daniel's garage sale piles are getting bigger as I add to it. I still have so much to do, but at least I am making progress! Tomorrow I will get ready for our weekend get away to San Diego with the grandkids. The weather will be warmer for the weekend so nice in San Diego. I called the fireplace company so they could order the screen and come out and work on the hearth. The contractor who flipped this house did a lousy job on the fireplace. Our mantel is leveled, but the stone is not. So it looks off at times depending what you are focusing on. We will see what is looks like when we put the village houses on it for Christmas. Christmas is 2 months away and I have been buying things for the grand kids. I better get to bed. Oh but check out the links to the right. I have a couple of new pages. One is my 60th birthday celebration.

October 19, 2015

Outside my window...almost dark since it is almost 7pm.
I am hearing... Football game, want to watch the Star Wars trailer.
I am wearing... capris, tennis and floral shirt.
I am drinking...peach tea.
I am thinking...about my mom, it would have been her 81st birthday today.
I am thankful...for my family.
I am remembering...special times with my mom.
On my mind...our weekend trip to San Diego with the grands.
I am pondering these word..."Life happens"
One thing I am praying for....my cousin's husband fighting cancer.
One thing I am hoping for...a new car next year.
From the kitchen...Crockpot chicken my daughter made.
Around the house...fall decorations.
I am creating...nothing at the moment.
I am going...work in the garage tomorrow.
I am reading...the Bible, book of Romans.
I am hoping...to make wise decisions!
I am looking forward to...Christmas.

Our new mantle!

Life has been busy for sure. I have tried to blog a few times, but it has been hard. Not that I don't have things to say, but I am thinking it is time to stop blogging. There are so few bloggers now. I am thankful to those who visit and leave a tag but it just not the same. I feel like so many friends have been lost. Everyone is busy and life goes on. I have a couple of weeks before I have to renew my domain. We will see since it is a hard thing for me to do.

Today's Saying: Fall day in LA (Los Angeles)

I have been wanting to try Canters Deli for a few years now. When I was in NY I had the best Matzoh ball soup. Then I had some at a place in Temecula called Rockafellers. So my son Daniel and his fiancee Melinda took us to Los Angeles today and I finally had my soup. I actually had the Mishmash which is Matzoh ball soup with noodles, rice and a few other things. I t was really good. If I ever go back I will have the bagels and lox. After leaving there we went to Farmer's Market. We tried some pumpkin spice icecream and it was so good and creamy. Then we walked over to the Grove. I was last there is 2013 with a few friend after we had gone to a taping of American Idol. It took two hours to get back home with the traffic. After Daniel and Melinda dropped us off, they went to talk to our friends Alice and Richard. They have a time share in Hawaii and they are letting Daniel and Melinda us it for their Honeymoon next August. Well our few days of fall will be leaving and we will get another round of hot weather. On Thursday we are getting out fireplace mantle. Here are few pictures. My grandsons Eddie and Elijah.

Today's Saying:

September 22, 2015

Today's Saying: Happy Birthday to my dad in heaven.

I had a dream that had my parents in it last night. I found a picture of them while I was unpacking. There are so many things I have because of my parents. I mentioned the grandfather clock. Some things I inherited, but other things were gifts. I am waiting for my husband to hand up the wall mirror. It is pretty heavy and he has to make sure he has the write screws. I thought my parents gave it to us when we moved into Bloomfield in 1990. But I found the pictures from our first house and the mirror was hanging over the piano.

Besides being busy with the house, I was also hosted a table for a fundraising tea for Crystal Roses. My cousin and I did a table together. We have been in involved in many teas. I have several pages with pictures of teas I have participated in listed at my site map. I would love to have a tea with my grand daughters next spring. I will be making a page for the tea.

As I mentioned before, this house is a lot smaller than our previous home referred to the Bloomfield house. So I have had to order several things to give us additional storage space. Our new bed will be delivered on Saturday and my son and his fiance put it together for us a couple of days ago. I also ordered a new bedframe for the full size bed and we have to put it together. I will now have storage for under that bed. Hubby and I spend a lot of time in the garage today. I was going through boxes and he was organizing his work bench. Today is the first cooler day we have had in weeks. I am sure glad we are retired! Time for dances with the stars. I will leave you with a picture from the tea.

Today's Saying: Adding Decor and storage space.

It is kind of ironic that we worked so hard to "declutter our old house to get it show ready. Now we are trying to fit in the things we want to keep and it is now easy when you go from 2400 to 1400 square feet. We are making our home comfy for us. Hubby and I could not agree on the old kitchen table. We both liked the top but not the bulky chairs. So we went to shop for just chairs but end up getting the set because it was the only way to get the chairs. The table is in the garage and we will bring it in when we need it. The legs screw off so it can go in and out of the house easily unlike the coral top table. We bought bathroom over the toilet shelving for both bathrooms. I just got a small bakers rack for the kitchen that is laid out all over the family room floor waiting to be assembled. Our fireplace mantle will be installed on October 13. But first I need to go finish painting the bedroom. My son and his fiance took the queen size bed frame since we are getting new king size mattresses in a couple of weeks.

Hubby and I also started a healthy weight loss program. I don't need to lose but a few pounds, but he needs to lose about 20. So we are doing it along with my son and his wife. It is called the Core program and the first week is detox. So glad we got the bathrooms done since we are spending a lot of time there!

The Love Stamp picture will go on the fireplace
after the hole is made by the fireplace people.
The table under the picture was my parents, will be moved.

We bought the hutch when we moved into our old home, 1990
The clock was a gift from my parents and the lamp was my dad's.

We decided not to kwwo the rack for the tv. All the
stuff under the sofa table will be moved later.

Today's Saying: Happy Labor Day!

August 31, 2015

Today's Saying: Settling in.

Needless to say, I have been super busy! My sister came over and helped me unpack my china. Hubby set up the grandfather clock so things are feeling more homey. We are ordering a mantel for our fireplace and I am excited about it. We love our new mattresses, but we do not like the queen size at all! So we are exchanging it for a king set after the 30 days is up. We are also getting a low profile box spring because the mattress is so high. Our small bedroom will feel smaller, but we will sleep better! This past week was very hot, with several days in the 100's. It will be better this week so I won't have to wait to work in the garage just in the evening. Our garage sale pile is growing bigger each day! Fireplace lady is here.

August 20, 2015

Today's Saying: Happy Surprise
and finally in our new home!

Last Sunday on the 16ht, my kids surprised me with a 60yh birthday party. I knew we were getting our keys so I did not think much when hubby said we were going to meet them at Miguel's. When I walked in I heard Eddie say Mema and then I heard surprise. I saw my friends and family and it made me very happy. My kids all worked together to make it happen. Andrew made the reservations. Renee coordinated it, making sure my best friends were there. Daniel baked my Disney castle cake. Later Carl and Leslie left to see if the keys were there and then called us. My family all went with us to see the house. My brother had us get in a circle and he prayed blessings over the house. Everyone left except Daniel who started taking down the old storage cabinets in the garage. He finished on Monday and he and Jr took all the cabinets outside. Later I painted the place where the washer and dryer were going.

Our washer and dryer, couches and refrigerator were delivered on Tuesday. I love the couches, but they do not look well against the color of the walls. So I will paint two walls a lighter color. I also plan to paint the master bedroom to a light grey. We were suppose to have all things in storage moved in today but the date has been moved back to next Monday. So now I hope to get some painting done in the bedroom before the furniture arrives. I also want to get new carpet for the master bedroom. My next post will have pictures.

August 15, 2015

Today's Saying: Summer Blessings.

I really do have a lot to be thankful for. The house officially became ours on August 11. I had a blast on my birthday at Disneyland even though it got up to 90! Hubby got us tickets for the Walk in Disney's Footsteps Tour. We got to Disneyland and took pictures and I got my birthday button. Then we had a yummy salad before the tour. I hope to do a page on the tour. One more thing, my great nephew was born on my birthday too!

So thankful that we have been staying at my son's home enjoying the air conditioning since we are in a heatwave(103 today)We have enjoyed playing with the grandkids. We have been shopping around for appliances and found the refrig and washer and dryer set we want at Sears. Sunday is Friends and Family day with great savings. We are going to a party soon for some friends that have officially become new adoptive parents. We did the same thing 25 years ago with our daughter Renee. Her two kids started 2nd and 1st grade this week. Audrina started kinder at our church. On Tuesday we celebrated school and birthdays. So lots of busy things happening. This will be a busy week for us!

August 3, 2015

Today's Saying: Counting down the days.

Tomorrow is our walk through now that the seller has completed the task we asked them to get done. I will take some measurements to make sure the couches we want will fit. I have a coffee table that my parents gave me that will fit, but I really want to keep things open. I also want to keep it family friendly. I am giving my sister the coffee table. It is getting easier letting things go now and I know I will have a lot more to part with. Here are the couches we like.

I plan to put a large mirror on this wall.

Here is an older picture of our old living/dining area.
The piano went to a young worship leader at my church.
The mirror over the piano will go over the new sofa.
The dining table and maroon rocker stayed with our buyer.
The coffee table will go to my sister.
The maroon loveseat will go in my husband's
"man cave along with the end table.
The white leather sofa went with my daughter.
The matching loveseat went to my cousin's son.
The small curio next to my china cabinet goes to my son.

I was able to color my hair last night and I hope to go to the women's Bible study this evening. It is our last week of watching my daughter's kids. They were in day camp the last two weeks. Bye for now.

July 29, 2015

Today's Saying: A bit stuffy around here!

Last Monday my ear started bothering me. It felt like it does when you are on a plane and it closes up. I tend to scratch my ear when I am asleep and I figured I had another ear infection. I had antibiotic drops from last time and I started those. By the end of the week I felt like it was going to the other ear. The dry weather was not helping either. So this Monday went to the dr and she said I had an ear infection and prescribed more drops to take and to keep taking a decongestant. I am running my diffuser too which I love. I haven't lost all my sense of taste so that is good.

Today hubby and I went to Sears and looked at appliances, couches and mattresses. They will be having a big Labor Day sale so we will buy it all then. At least we know what we want. The new house will have all what we need for the kitchen except a refrigerator. The sales agent at Sears showed us the counter depth fridges and we thought it was perfect for us.

See how the refrig sticks out? The Counter depth one does not as much. But we will do a little more research on it. I would rather have what I need and it stick out than not enough space. We found the Serta mattress we both like. As I mentioned before, we are getting a queen size bed since the room is smaller than what we had. We also had a metal canopy bed, but we will have a lower ceiling with a ceiling fan so we decided not to get another poster bed. This is the bedframe we chose.

July 25, 2015

Today's Saying: Waiting and planning!

It is Saturday and I am doing laundry and enjoying the Pandora music station. Things are moving along with our escrow and it should close around August 13th and the sellers will move out that weekend. We are not going to rush in. We want to do some work in the garage first. Then we can empty our storage unit. We also have to order appliances and new couches. We are hoping to get some good deals as we approach the Labor Day weekend. We also need to order a mantle for the fireplace. I plan to put my Willow Springs Nativity on top of it at Christmas. It is a much smaller house so I will have to decided what I want to keep and what I need to let go. It is all a part of our downsizing plan. Today we will be going to Disneyland after the baby naps. Cooler there than here! Here is a picture of the fireplace. We will need to get a gas log set and screen. I hope to put my grandfather clock to the right of it.

July 22, 2015

Today's Saying: Paper work and planning!

Things are moving very quickly with our escrow. The escrow company uses a courier service to send us paper work and we are busy filling things out. Our inspection was on Monday and appraisal on Tuesday. The appraisal came in right at the amount we offered so that is good. We are buying an older home built in 1962. It is in a quiet neighborhood with single homes and large yards. Something we wanted for our grandkids. The house is 1406 in square feet and has what we need. The bathrooms, kitchen and flooring have been redone. We will have to do some electrical updating in the future and luckily my brother and his son our electricians. We know God is watching over us. We are so glad we did not get the Brittany house. Even the inspector who did Brittany and the Rancho said the Rancho house was a lot better. So here is a picture of our future home. The previous entry has pictures of our Disney Birthday visit.

July 18, 2015

Today's Saying: Happy Birthday to Disney
and Happy Anniversary to my parents in heaven.
The best is saved for last!

My parents would have been married 63 years. I sure miss them! We will be celebrating our 41st in a few weeks and we will be celebrating it at Disneyland. Speaking of Disneyland, we were able be there on Friday for the 60th birthday bash.

We left around 1pm after lunch because I was so tired. I did not sleep much the night before because I was decorating our new home in my mind. We end up getting the Rancho house! More details to come.

Today's Saying: Goodbye to our Bloomfield House!

Everyone has left and I have the radio on as I prepare to sweep and mom the house. All the utilities have been set to go off our name by this weekend and onto the new buyer. Our huge storage place is filled to the brim with the rest of our things are at my son's house. I am so thankful for all the help we had with this huge move! We got around $2000 more on our final escrow check so we will use that for movers for the next house.

We are not getting the Brittany house after all. We have made an offer on a another house that is a bit bigger with 4 bedrooms in an area we prefer. Pray we are accepted as several people are trying to get it. We will be paying about $10,000 more for this house, but it has a large yard and remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. So again, it is in God's hands.

I also was on Jury duty call this week, but luckily not needed as I called each night. Another prayer answered. My last 2 nights were spent sleeping on the floor on mattress pads and I actually slept well. We have also been in a heat wave in the high 90's and humid too. I am thankful to God for the many memories in this house. My kids all said goodbye today. But life goes on and and we will make new memories. The last thing I will do before I leave is undo the wireless receiver. Goodbye house.

Today's Saying: Storing away!

We were busy at the storage unit on Thursday. Thankfully Melinda was able to help. I packed a lunch and we ate there to save time. When we got home, we got a message from our realtor. Our buyer will pay for the deck work! We lowered our price because we could not pay for it. God is so good! The work will be done on Saturday. The buyer will have the walk through on Sunday and has requested we be there to answer her questions about the house like how to use the spa. She is coming from Orange Country and wants to know what cable company to use and water company. We will be leaving her some plants so it won't be so empty. Escrow should close around July 2 and we will need to be out on the 5th. We will be moving with my son until our house is ready for us. We will be busy busy the next few days. Oh and I have jury duty this Monday! Hopefully when I will call, they will not need me since it is so close to the holiday. The sellers of the house we are buying go to court on Thursday to see if they can get the lien taken care of. It is in God's hands.

Today's Saying: Still packing and trusting in GOD.

On Saturday or agents called to say that our buyers agent will pay to get our deck fixed so the sale will proceed. Thanking God for that. Meanwhile, the house we are buying is on hold because there is a lien on it and the sellers are trying to get it resolved. So we got a large ground floor unit storage and everything will go in it. This will begin on Tuesday. Today I got in the kids with the spa for what could be the last time. I sat on the swing while the kids played and thought about all the parties we have had in our backyard. I am trusting in God while we prepare to leave out home. We will be staying with my son. Here are a few pictures from Father's Day.

Today's Saying: Setbacks!

First I want to say I had a great time on my vacation! While I was gone, I was in touch with our realtors. 2 things have happened that are so discouraging. First the house we are buying has a lien on it and they are working to get it resolved. More serious, 1 week to close and the buyer of our house home lender says we have to have a clear termite on our deck. The house was approved and our buyer agreed to buying the house without it. We don't have termites but the deck still has some wood rot. So the walk through has been cancelled and a new termite guy is coming out on Tuesday. So please pray that it can be worked out. We don't want to put anymore money into this house. We already took a cut on the price. The buyer can pull out because of this. Then we will have to pull out of the house we want and start over. I know it is the nature of the business.

June 10, 2015

Today's Saying: In Limbo

We got the appraisal back on the house we are buying and it under appraised by $15,000. We talked with our lender and then our realtor. The seller does not want to budge on the price and we don't want to tap into our reserves. So our realtor will let the seller know we are pulling out. We should hear back later. Hubby and I discussed many things yesterday. We both like this house, but we have to make a wise financial decision. We are trusting in God through all this. Meanwhile, we must continue to pack as we have to be out of here by the 26th. Please keep us in prayer.

Update, once seller got the end of contract notice, he must have reconsidered. He actually went lower in the price. Now we can counter with a list of things we want done. So things are looking better. It means our payments will be lower too!

Today's Saying: Letting Go.

The house we are moving to is much smaller that what we have now. We new we were downsizing to a single story. The new house is about 200 square feet smaller than what we planned for. But we liked it a lot and decided we would make it work. So on Saturday I said goodbye to my piano. My grandparents got it for me when I was 8 and I am going to be 60. One of the young worship leaders at my church is getting it to learn to play piano. That makes me feel at peace with letting it go. Today we took my parents china cabinet to my sister Terry and put it back were it was. I got it after my dad died but there is no room for that either. I have my china buffet and that is bigger. Downsizing is not easy, but will be easier in the long run.

Last Thursday Jazzy graduated from Kindergarten. We went to her ceremony and then to Chucky Cheese. We stopped at Wal-mart and saw that they had a patio set we liked so we got it. Later we went with Daniel and Melinda to Long Beach to preview a place for their marriage. She has always wanted to be married by the ocean. Friday we had our inspection of the house and several things have to be fixed prior to move in. Renee took the kids to San Diego Sea World for the weekend since they have annual passes. She is happy she got moved out and settled. We will now have the kids all day since school is out. We still have a tv set up for them, games, puzzles and of course the backyard! Lots of boxes everywhere! We got the garage all packed and laughed when we realized we had packed the hammer because we still need it! It will be a another busy week for sure!

We put it in the kitchen for now.

Today's Saying: So many papers to sign!

Sometimes it is really hard to sign because of the arthritis in my fingers. But most of our paperwork has been done electronically. We have our inspection set up for Friday and we wired our deposit today. We have packed a lot and still have so much more to do. We are sorting through paperwork and shredding or filing as we go. There is a small room next to the kitchen off the kitchen and we are trying to decide if we want to put a casual kitchen table in there or make it a tv room and just have a cafe table. I also want to get new cloth couches for the living area, in front of the fireplace. We also need a new refrig, 3 barstools and we need to get window treatments and a patio cover. We will have to see what we have left after the down payment. We also are paying off two large bills. This will be our last home, and we want to make it comfy for us. Eddie wanted to know where the playhouse is going. When we get the new frig, we will let them have the cardboard box! Trusting in God for our new journey.

Today's Saying: We found a house!

The day after my last post, I opened up the newest listing and I saw one I liked and in our price range. When I started looking at it, I showed it to my husband and he really liked it. The garage is all fixed up to be a man cave! I sent it to our realtor and asked to see it. So he took us to see it and we knew we wanted it. There were so many thing we liked about it. Though it did not have grass in the backyard, we decided we would be okay with that. Now that we are under strict drought restrictions, it makes more sense. So our realtors drew up the offer and sent it in. That was on May 26. Our lender called me on the 28 to tell us the seller's realtor called him to make sure we were good for our loan. He reassured him we were good. I felt it was a good sign. It was also the 5 year anniversary of my mom's death. She sold us our first home back in 1978. On Saturday we got our acceptance and signed through Docusign. Our realtor talked to our lender about the counter on the offer and said it was a go. We go into escrow Monday, June 1st and hope to move when the house closes here.

Today after church we treated our kids to lunch to celebrate. Then we meet our realtors at the new house so they could see it. Carl took us on Tuesday but it was Leslie's first visit and she really liked it. We took a few measurements while Carl took notes on the things that had to be repaired. Okay, here we are in front of our much smaller single story, move in ready home. Thanking God for making the way. We had a lot of family praying for us.

May 25, 2015

Today's Saying: Renee is settled and we are looking.

The move went pretty well with the furniture all in by Friday. Renee and the kids stayed their last official night all sleeping in Renee's bed which stayed behind. Renee is sleeping on her comfy couch for now. She plans to get a sofa sleeper in the future. The kids room is really nice and all their things fit. Renee used a gift card she got from her brother Daniel to buy an adjustable clothes rack and a swifter mop. I got her some frying pans and baskets for her shelves. Her dad got her a microwave oven. The place is new so she gets to experience a new stove and fridge. She baked cookies with the kids on Sunday. The kids seem to be doing well. Eddie said he liked his new place, but he still liked living with us more.

On Monday we worked at the storage unit and then we went to Renee's place for Memorial day. Andrew, Marina and the kids were there also. The kids had a nice time playing in the new kiddie playground. Renee dropped the kids off early Tuesday before going to work. School ends June 4th and we have to be out of here by June 26. We did find a yesterday, a little farther away than we wanted to be, but still in our city. The place is nice and remodeled and move in ready. But as much as we like it, some people will offer more than the asking amount so we just have to wait and see. Meanwhile, we are still packing. We are trusting in God to provide us with the right place.

May 21, 2015

Today's Saying: Memorial Day Weekend Move.

Renee moves out this weekend. She gets her keys on Friday and should be all moved in by Saturday. We have been looking for homes in our price range and houses are moving fast! We want a single story. If we can't find one in time. we will live with our son until we find one. Meanwhile, we are happy to get Renee settled. It will be a big change for her and the kids. They still have 2 weeks of school and will be with us for the meanwhile. It is hard not to get discouraged/sad. But we need to move now while we can and prepare for our future.

Daniel and Melinda are planning their wedding. They want it by the beach and are planning for August of 2016. They will be able to use our friends time share in Hawaii, the same one we stayed at which is one block from Waikiki beach. I look forward to going back to Hawaii one more time in the future. We also have talked of taking the Disney cruise. Dreams and family keep us going! Have a great Memorial Day weekend! Hugs

May 15, 2015

Today's Saying: We are in escrow now!

The buyer changed there mind and came back with a higher offer and we accepted. No open house after all. We have to be out by June 26, so I will be very busy over the next few weeks. Renee is packing as I speak as she starts her move in 1 week! She is taking a lot of my kitchen things since I have so much and plan on getting a smaller kitchen. Daniel and Renee are planning their wedding and they will be able to use my friends timeshare in Hawaii for their honeymoon. It is at the same one we have stayed at and one block from Waikiki Beach. Our Hawaii pictures are linked at the site map.

I have been diffusing my essential oils to help with stress and sleeping. So now we need to start looking at houses. If we don't find one, we will rent. Thanks for the prayers and support!

May 12, 2015

Today's Saying: Moving forward.....

Well the offer on our house fell through so we will have another open house this weekend. Meanwhile we are packing and getting rid of things. We moved some thing to my son's house. Renee has been busy packing her things and staging them in the garage until her move next weekend. We need to find her pots and pans she got from my parents. A really nice stainless steel set. They are in the storage and we will have to look for them. She is so excited to finally be moving out.

I have been enjoying the use of my essential oils. I made some ant spray with peppermint oil. I have been using my bath salts in my soaking tub. I think I will miss that the most!

Today's Saying: May the 4th be with you!

Another busy weekend! Renee and I went to a baby shower for my nice who is having her 3rd baby who will be named Gideon. Then after the shower Jr and I went to Disneyland to meet up with my son Daniel and Mel and their friends. Jr and I sat in front of the castle for the firework show. But after a long wait, it did not happen because of winds. But something exciting did happen.

Daniel proposed to Melinda and she said yes!

Posing for the Mickey and Minnie pose kiss.

A happy celebration!

Jr and I got there 2 hours before so we could be the first in line to get a picture. We told the photographers our son was proposing. Once it was announced that there would be no fireworks, they normally take down the ropes and let the people into the castle. But they were told to keep the ropes up until after the proposal. It was nice to hear the people's surprise and clapping when Daniel went down on his knee. I just wish I had a better camera. Hubby went home after that and we on several rides. I was so tired all day Sunday. One more thing, we had an offer on our house, kind of low, so we will see.

Today's Saying: Busy Days and crazy weather

We had really nice weather all week. Then we went to Disneyland on Saturday and it rained! But it was still foun since our focus was to let the kids experience Frozen before it ends on April 30th. Renee's friends took her over night to San Diego for her birthday and we had the kids and she got tickets. When we checked in to California Adventure, they told us that hubby's ticket was blocked for that day. They had already scanned Eddie's ticket and so the manager was called over. Well they were nice enough to make an exception for us. We took lunches and ate them there. Later Andrew and Marina joined us for the rest of the evening.

On Sunday we went to a family birthday party and on Monday I was so tired! But it was a day of cleaning. I vacuumed all the closet and slider door openings and cleaned them. Later in the day I made some bath salts and body scrub. So you can see how busy I have been. We will have our open house next week. Bye for now.

April 22, 2015
Today's Saying: Countdown!
Count down to changes and Happy Earth Day!

Yesterday our realtor staged our home and the photographer took pictures today. The house looks so nice and yes it will be sad to go, but time to downsize. Speaking of down sizing, our daughter Renee and kids will be moving into their own place next month. She put her name on a waiting list for some new apartments thinking it would be months and they called her. She is excited and nervous at the same time. We will still be watching the grands for now. She will drop them off on the way to work. But things could change depending on where we move. We are not even sure we want to buy and we don't mind renting for awhile. Meanwhile we will be busy cleaning out the garage and sorting through things. So as you can see we are busy!

Elijah's birthday was a lot of fun and nice to see my family. We will be getting together for lots of things since there is another birthday party, baby shower and bridal shower coming up. Did I say busy? Renee's friends are taking her to San Diego for her birthday which was last week. So we will have the kids Friday and Saturday. We are taking them to California Adventure so they can experience the Frozen Fun before it ends on April 30th. My son Andrew will be taking his daughter. I need to upload some pictures for Elijah's party. Here is one for now. I sure wish we could have gotten one with his cousins, but they all spent a lot of time in the Mickey Jumper.

April 16, 2015
Today's Saying: Happy birthday Elijah and Renee!

April 14, 2015
Today's Saying: Countdown!

Our house goes on the market at the end of the week. Our new doors are in now. They just need to be painted. I shared a picture of the new dresser I got and talked about getting another dresser for our tv. We found the dresser but did not like the knobs. So we got new knobs and I put them on and it is so nice to have plenty of drawer space. Jr got his dresser too. So this is how it all looks.

We have really decluttered the backyard too and spruced up the front yard. We have a little painting to do outside. We had to secure our water heater for inspection. Besides painting the whole interior of the house, most of our deck was redone because of wood rot. At least we had no termites! The photographer will be here on the 22nd and take pictures for new house listing that goes up at the end of the month.

Our grandson Elijah turns one this Thursday, on his Aunt Renee's birthday. His parents are taking him to Disneylan on Thursday. Friday is the family birthday party. We bought some Mickey decorations at Party City. Now I have to cut out some large Mickey heads for his name. I will post some pictures of him in a couple of days.

Yesterday I met my friends for dinner before going to Bible study. As I write this, I am wearing the rubber band they passed out. The speaker talked about being stretched by God. Also to look at why we resist. A good message to ponder!

April 7, 2015
Today's Saying: April Showers on the way!

It is sunny as I write this but rain in on the way. We had a really nice Easter this year. Now we have one month until we list our house so we will be busy around here. The new doors will be delivered on Friday.

I think I overdid it this weekend so I am at bit sore. I soaked in a hot bath with Epsom salt last night. Then I rubbed on some essential oil cream I made for pain. If you click on the Essential girl on the left, it will take you to my Essential Oils page. My cousin Joanie came over Friday and I shared more about the importance of oils. She wants to use them with her Body scrubs that she sells. She also wants to find healthier ways to living.

Here are a couple of pictures from Easter. I will be adding more soon. Hugs

Today's Saying:

Spring is here and all that goes with it. The weather has cooled down and the tree is really getting leaves at a fast pace. Plants are growing and there are butterfly cocoons everywhere at the kids school. Now that things are freshly painted and clean, we decided to put on our new bedspread. Last weekend we went to the antique store and I got a dresser and two side tables. The print can be interchanged with the solid black. So what do you think?

I knew when I saw this that I just had to have it. The clock was my dad's.

See the little flower cart? Looks nice on the newly painted deck.

Today's Saying: Spring cleaning and organizing.

It has been a busy few days and still hot but I got a lot done over the weekend. I found several decorative storage boxes on sale at Michael's. I organized my closet too. The painter is basically done now except for a few last minute things to do this week. Our window coverings are on order and I can hardly wait to get them! We will be getting a new front door and a one for the upstairs deck too. I can finally put the new comforter set I got for out bed. But I am really excited about the new dresser we found this weekend at an antique store in Orange. It was made in the 40's and in really good condition. So we found some matching end tables to go with it. We also found a metal garden cart for our deck. We plan to pick up the dresser this Tuesday when Daniel is off work and we can use his truck.

My mother-in-law is still in the hospital and stable. Her short term memory comes and goes. Her cat scan shows previous brain trauma plus evidence of the recent stroke. Her heart has severe build up in the aorta and it is causing problems. We will find out more this week. Thanks for the prayers!

March 13, 2015
Today's Saying:

Please keep my mother in law-Movita in prayer. She had a mild stroke and they are checking her heart. We went to see her and she was having dialysis and was in good spirits. She is also legally blind. I am feeling a bit blue myself. Trying to stay positive. I am working on my oils page and hope to share it by Monday. I plan on going to the antique store tomorrow. to get some pyrex casserole dishes I saw. The Santa Ana winds have brought in hot weather and it will be around 90. I do not like this hot dry air. We hardly had winter this year. I will leave you with the loves of my life.

Today's Saying: Thankful for a great weekend getaway!...

After by Bible study last Friday, my cousin Joanie left to Temecula, about 40 minutes south of us. When we got there we stopped at Roots and shared a healthy turkey avocado sandwich. I got some beeswax for some lip balm I plan to make. We also stopped at JoAnn's and I got a some Mickey scrapping items. Then we headed to my sister Terry's house. Terry inherited it from my dad and it is nice to see how she is making it her own. After she showed us around, we headed to Rockafellars NY Deli for dinner in her new mini Cooper. I really felt like having some Matzoh ball soup. We enjoyed our dinner and took some pastry home for later. We stopped at the market after and picked up some goodies for breakfast. We stayed up late and slept in late.

On Saturday we went to see the movie

My sister Ann and her daughter joined us. It was a very good movie of a Columbia professor that gets early onset Alzheimers. After the movies we went shopping. When we got back, I made my sister some face cream with her essential oils.
On Sunday we decided to go see another movie called McFarland USA with Kevin Costner. It also was very good. We had taquitos for dinner and then headed back to my sister Terry's. Ann made a few things with her essential oils while explaining things. Then it was time to go home. Joanie said she had the best time and we plan to go back next month.

Today's Saying: Where have all the bloggers gone?

I really am sad that so many bloggers are gone. It is like having a friend that you talk to and share things with and then they just stop calling. You leave them messages and they don't answer. It makes me sad but that is why we need real live friends. My mom once told me that people will always let you down, even your friends so don't get to close. I have to remember that I blog for me and the memories. If I get a few friends to drop by,that is great.

It was a beautiful day today and I got a lot of things done. Lots of cleaning now that the painters are gone. There was an accident on the freeway and the traffic was affecting the main streets where I live. I end up parking near the school and walking a bit to get the kids. The road was so busy, we end up walking all the way home with a stop at the park. It felt good to walk in the sun and it was just cool enough to not get over heated. When I got home I finished making my lavender-orange bath salts and I am looking forward to soaking later!

Today's Saying: Rain brings the color green!

I love how the hills around are green from the rain. I love how I can see the white caps on the mountains from the snow. I love the blue in the sky after the rain. I love the how spring brings back colors. Though it is not technically spring yet, it is another new season coming our way. I have changed my blog to St. Patrick's design, so you may have to refresh your page and hit the welcome button.

The painting is coming along and I like what I am seeing. We spent some time at Home Depot today looking at new light switches, and window coverings. We will have someone come out to measure for new vertical blinds and a few blinds for a couple of windows. I sure look forward to doing this when we get our new home. Have a Happy Sunday! Hugs

Today's Saying: "Getting into Spring cleaning"...

In preparation for getting our house ready to sell, we are having the house painted and fixing a few things up. Today we had a new front window put in. I wish we had done it long ago, but at least we can enjoy it for a few months. We are also having the whole house painted and it is a big job. We moved all the furniture away from the walls downstairs and so I have started cleaning those areas. I made my own cleaner using baking soda, Castile soap, hydrogen peroxide and finally tea tree and orange essential. oils. I like most people bought what was advertised on TV. I also heard my friend Judy talk about using non toxic products. It seemed like so much work to make these things. But then my dad died of liver failure. The doctor said that liver disease was on the rise. Our liver is the main filter in our body and without we can't live. We think that just alcohol causes liver damage. But other health factors can lower our immunity. Medications, poor eating and chemicals all affect us. I noticed when cleaning in the past few months, I would get a cough and just feel yucky. Then my sister got into Young Living essential oils and shared things with me. So now I am trying to change the things I use on my body. Castile soaps don't add any synthetic detergents, skin-irritating sulfates or artificial colorants. No artificial fragrances, or preservatives or colors. Little by little I plan to make my own products. I enjoyed reading the information of soap making at the Bronner site.

This morning I went to my Women's Bible study. We call them life groups. It is taking what we learn at church and applying it to our lives today. In our group, we take turns bring food. Today Linda, one of the women made home made burritos. Home made tortillas filled with beans and cheese and chorizo and potatoes. She also made cream puffs. Time to go so have a nice weekend!

Today's Saying: Spring????

We are still having nice weather. We went to Disneyland yesterday and the weather was perfect! Hubby and I rode the Ferris wheel in California yesterday for the first time. All the water was out of the river at World of Colors as it gets refurbished. Then we ate the lunch we packed in our frozen lunch pail. We also went on the Tower of Terror ride. We really like that. Nothing like feeling lifting off your seat as you drop! Andrew joined us and we had fun in Olaf's Snow Fest. Audrina got to meet Olaf and sled with he Daddy. After having a pasta and salad dinner, we headed back to Hollywood land so Audrina could see Queen Elsa. Then we went to see the Frozen sing along show. Then we headed over to Disneyland. Sleeping Beauty Castle is getting a huge makeover and so is the Small World.

Today the kids were off so we had a nice relaxing day. They went to the park with their school friends. The mom said they would be there for a couple of hours. When they got back, we made Frozen play dough. I got the recipe off Pinterest. It was a little messy, but the kids loved it. I will post pictures of them later. For now, here are the Disney pages.

Today's Saying: A touch of spring.

We have had beautiful weather for several days. It has been in the high 70's and the nights have been chilly. Love this weather. With all the rain we had and now the sun, things are blooming over here. I got this Mr Lincoln rose from my backyard. It has a great scent!

The bunk beds arrived and it sure makes the bedroom bigger. Eddie gets the top since he is the oldest and he loves it. Jazzy was not to happy about it and not sure if she likes being enclosed.

I made some cream for my eczema and it works pretty well. I am working on a page to share what I am doing and a couple of other pages. Time to get Jazzy ready for school. Have a great day!

Today's Saying: For Today......

Outside my window...a little cloudy, but warm like a spring day.
I am hearing... the tv in my room and the grands in their room "cleaning."

Today's Saying: Moving a few things around.

The first thing I moved was me. I took of Saturday and spent a few days with my sisters. It was a much needed get away. We saw 2 movies, The Theory of Everything and Into the Woods. We ate out and snacked. Lots of shopping too!

We will be meeting with our new realtors next week so we have been busy moving things around the house and packing more things for storage. We are also getting rid of things!

I am also having a few people over on Sunday for an Essential Oils party. We will be making some health things with oils. I ordered several things I needed like shea butter and spray and roll on bottles. I also did some shopping today and it is never safe to take the hubby. He wants to add things to the basket that we really don't need.

I have a busy day for tomorrow so I better get to bed now.

Today's Saying: Getting ready for some changes.

We took our house off the market right before Thanksgiving. I did not want to have to have our house "show" ready. I wanted to decorate and enjoy the holidays. Christmas is all put away and back in storage. So now we have to think about getting our house back on the market. But we do need to do a few things first. We need to talk to a new realtor as our realtor is retiring. We need to get the house painted and a few things need to be replaced. We need to get some estimates first. I am ready to go now but my husband wants to wait until the first of Feb. I really can't push him because he just buried hid dad and he needs some time. Thankfully, his brother and his wife have moved in with my mother in law and my husband will have more free time.

Another thing I want to do is find more natural ways to deal with health issues besides over the counter remedies. My friends Judy and Pam have both talked about using essential oils. But it was my sister Ann that convinced me of the benefits of using them. My cousin Joanie started making facial scrub with natural ingredients and essential oils and now I want to learn more. I ordered a kit from Young Living and I am enjoying scents and learning more. I need to make some more changed, but that will be for another post. Have a great weekend!

I am thankful...for my family.
I am remembering...my parents.
On my mind...the last Christmas card my dad wrote as I re read cards.
I am pondering these word..."you can't trust your emotions."
One thing I am praying for...selling this house.
One thing I am hoping for... a productive week.
From the kitchen...ground chicken, veggies and pasta earlier, fresh popcorn now.
Around the house...look so bare now that Christmas is over.
I am creating...scented neck packs.

Today's Saying: Saying goodbye... for awhile

No I am not leaving my blog. I went to my friend's son's celebration service last night. Because his life here is over but he lives in heaven. So though he is mourned here, there is a big celebration in heaven. I looked at my friend Anita and her family and considering the situation and my word endurance came up. The pastor said though we mourn, we hurt, we have hope knowing that we are separated for a time. In spite of how we feel, we go on. The Bible says "Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy."James 1:2 NLT Joy is not the same as happiness which is based on emotions and situations. This joy is rooted in faith. This joy gives peace. It is making a decision to have faith in what you believe. So in spite of our human emotions that can go all over the place, we still have faith. I added a description of One Word to my Endurance page that is linked on the right.

Today's Saying: Saying goodbye!

I came here a couple of times but could not post. A few post ago I shared a picture of my friend Anita and I in front of Hobby Lobby. We had lunch the Monday before Christmas. We talked about our kids and grandkids. She shared how her son was in the Marines and surprised her with a visit for the holidays. He told his parents he decided to be a communications specialist like his dad. On New Years day, he died instantly in a head on crash. She texted me to pray, and I have been. I can't imagine the pain they are going through losing their only son. We never know how life will turn out. They will see their son again heaven, but they have a big heartache to deal with now.

Today my father in law was laid to rest. It was a cold but beautiful, sunny day. The service was nice and Smiley is buried close to my parents. My siblings were all there paying their respects and they also made salad. We had a chance to talk about us being buried with mom and dad in the future, but that is another days topic. I think one of the beautiful scenes today was seeing the grandsons being the pall bearers. They each wore one of their grandpa's hats. My son Daniel is in the front left in the picture below and my son Andrew is on the other side with the light hat. My daughter Renee can be seen behind at a distance. There was a nice gathering afterwards at Smiley and Movita's home with lots of good food. I thought it would be a good time to take a picture of Movita with our 4 grandkids.

Today's Saying: God bless us as we start a New Year!

The last day of the year brought snow to many areas in So Ca that don't normally have it! So the kids took the grands to play in the snow, a short 30 minute drive instead of the 1 1/2 drive to the mountains. Here are their reactions.

They went around noon and it was bright and sunny

Eddie and Jazzy went later when it was colder.

There will be a few things I will be doing to start the New Year. I have picked my One Word for the year. I have chosen the word I will write more about it at my next blog post. Have a great day! Hugs.

Today's Saying: Play Day

I forgot it was Monday today. guess my mind is just behind! I have had a congested cough and though I really don't feel to sick, I am trying to take at east. Today I took my grandkids to a playdate with the kids that live behind us. I could have just left them there, but the mom invited me in and I stayed and we had a nice talk. We both graduated from UCI. She made me a cup of Chai tea and it was so good, especially since it is cold for us, in the 50's in the day and 20's at night. So I am enjoying another cup of tea and thinking about taking Christmas down, a little at a time. I am also thinking of my One word for the New year. While I am thinking, I will enjoy my decorations.

Decemeber 27, 2014
Today's Saying: Taking a day to rest is good

I am listening to Christmas music on Pandora and enjoying the quiet while everyone is out. I had lunch with my friends yesterday and it turned to be an all day event. I have a chest cold so I am using my Living Essential diffuser with Theives while I enjoy some Bengal Spice tea from Celestial Seasonings. Will be working on my Christmas pages today.

Today's Saying: Counting down to a sweet holiday.

I am relaxing in my dad's recliner watching Holiday Inn after watching the end of White Christmas. It makes me think of my parents. Today we went to my grand daughter's ballet performance. She was so cute. Afterwards we went out for lunch. Then off to the boutique. I wish I could say I made a lot of money, but by the time I bought several things from my cousin, I end up with about $40! I did get so many nice things for gifts. I lover her new scrubs and got some stocking stuffers and a birthday gift for my sister. We also bartered some items. She got several of my ornaments and we were both pleased! We both love gingerbread and she bought several for gifts. I sold a lot of baby Jesus wreaths and gingerbread ornaments. The grands all end up back at Disneyland. Here are few pictures.

Today's Saying: Preparations keeping me busy.

So like most people, I have been busy wrapping gifts. I have completed a few more crafting projects because I will be in another holiday boutique with my cousin Joanie. Today we got everything ready. I made us cute little gingerbread aprons to wear. We both are providing baked good, tea and coffee. We have been having cold weather for So California. Down in the 30's and 60's in the day. That is our winter weather. Having rain is an added plus and we really need the water. Well I better get going so I can wrap some presents. Please click on the graphic below to go to a page on gifts.

Today's Saying:

Several weeks ago the women in my life group made wreaths. It was the first time working with mesh ribbon. The girl showing us came over to see how our table was doing. She pointed out that I was not doing it right. I was on a role with the way I was doing it and so I told her I was okay with it and kept at it. She just said okay and then went on to the next lady. I use to be a perfectionist with certain things and I would have been flustered if I felt I was not doing it the "perfect way" But I was at peace about it and actually liked how it came out. So did everyone else. I took it home and added the bells. My husband really liked it and we hung it over the tv in the living room.

Today's Saying: Breakdowns....

Yesterday I decided to go shopping and on my way, my car started sputtering. It was like the Autopia ride at Disneyland. The car would slow and I would hit the gas and it would not go and then it would lurch forward and then feel like it was going to die. I was able to get it to a safe location. Triple A rescued me again and then the auto shop lent me a car again. My hubby met me there and then left back to his parents.

My father in law broke his hip a couple of months ago. He went to a rehab place, then to an assisted living place. On Wednesday he went on hospice and is at home now. My husband is spending lots of time there and I expect this is the way it will be. Prayers appreciated. We had a stormy night and rain all day. We really need the rain since California is in a drought. Though it is raining, tonight I am having dinner with my friends. Life moves on in spite of the breakdowns of life.

Today's Saying: Reindeer Fun

I mentioned that we went back to the storage and I brought a few more containers home. I was happy to find my Rodney and Rhonda Reindeer. I have had them since at least the 80's but could be earlier. We have put them in various places through out the years. Last night the grands watched Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and again at school. Sometimes it is the simple things that make the holidays special!

December 10, 2014
Today's Saying: Moving forward....

After my post yesterday, I went out to rake the leaves. I felt much better except it was so warm. After we picked up up the kids, we brought them home and they jumped in the pile of leaves. When I asked them to put the leaves in the trash, they said it was to hot! It was, so I had them go in for a snack. Later the other grands showed up so it was a busy night. I did manage to get the trees decorated and things boxes put away. Today I will work on more Christmas cards. Rain is coming in for Thursday and Friday so the winter weather will be back, yea!

December 9, 2014
Today's Saying: Falling a little behind.

I got enough sleep last night, but still feel tired today. I want to go out and rake leaves because the gardener is coming tomorrow. Raking leaves takes me back to my childhood helping my dad outside during the fall. I have lots of memories of having fun outside with my dad. I was a tomboy and loved to climb trees, skate and hang out with boys. I think part of the reason I feel blah is that I miss my dad. My grief counselor said there would be days like this. But I have to remember that life goes on.

Judy has been doing some graphics for me for my annual family Christmas page. Last night we were up talking about the page design and the time flew. Judy has helped me over the years with pictures and my dad was so thankful. I remember when he asked for a a particular photo for his montage and asked that Judy remove the background. She helped with several pictures and dad was able to see his almost completed montage before he passed. Well I am going out to rake the leaves now in our 75 degree weather. Hugs

December 8, 2014
Today's Saying: Working on my cards a little at a time.
while enjoying the lights of my Christmas trees!

I got some shopping done Sunday and worked on my cards. So today I will try run a few more errands and do some laundry. Here is a page I made a few years ago. I listed it in my previous post but am including it one more time.

Today's Saying:

We finally got our storage unit taken care of. A man was moving out of his and had 6 metal shelves that roll and he asked us is we wanted them. They are really sturdy and will be used for my crafts. It is time for me to get ready for church. I would like to leave a link to my page I made a few years ago called .Christmas Blessings

December 6, 2014
Today's Saying: Moving things here and there.
Christmas treasures everywhere!

We got the bigger storage unit and started transferring things on Friday. We have so many boxes of Christmas things. Remember I mentioned the missing cards and rubber stamps? Well I found them! I found a few other things and that made me happy. Today we will move the rest with lots of help. I will treat everyone to lunch, color my hair and then be ready to watch the grands for the evening. Maybe I will be lucky and get a pictures. I also added a few more quilt squares. Do you have one to share with me?

December 5, 2014
Today's Saying:Remember when we exchanged quilts?

I am updating the Christmas Quilt page at my Christmas site. So dig up your old quilts and send one to me if you want to be added and I will add it. Click on the quilt above to go to my quilt page.
Thursday we went to the storage place and got a bigger unit. We will move things on Saturday. This will help me by giving me room to actually work in there and downsize. I also got my first group of Christmas cards done and I will mail them out today. I also did some Christmas tree decorating while I enjoyed listening to Christmas music. I still need to finish adding some more decorations. Then I will be taking a few pictures to share. Hugs

December 4, 2014
Today's Saying: Getting some much needed rain.

It is pouring as I speak and we sure have needed the rain. The kids have been happy to use their umbrellas at school. It is a little harder for me because they can't go out to play when they come home from school and they sure are full of energy. Today I let them decorate their small trees and they need some more small ornaments.

I sill have not started my Christmas cards. I was updating my address list to run labels. My son and his girlfriend also brought back a couch and my dad's recliner from storage. It feels good to sit in it again. and the room in more cozy. Our house is officially off the market and I must have received over 20 calls from realtors that want us to list with them. We just want to enjoy the holidays!

December 3, 2014
Today's Saying: A little behind schedule but ok.

The grands have been busy the past few days. Eddie and Jazzy went to the Los Angeles Museum of Natural Science this weekend with their parents. They had fun and loved the dinosaurs. I went to Disneyland on Sunday with Audrina and I bought her an autograph book. She had fun getting signatures. It rained off and on but we stil had a nice time. While we were at Disneyland, Eddie and Jazzy decorated their tree. When I got home the main slim line tree went up but the lights would not work and I sure did not want to get a new tree. I went up to shower and when I came down, Daniel and Jr put on the lights I bought for outside. A little big, but it works.

We had more rain today and the grands got to use their new umbrellas. I had to go to Hobby Lobby again because the mini vine wreaths I ordered came in and they were half off too! I was all set to work on my Christmas list, but I could not find my labels from last year. So I spent a few hours recreating my list. So now I am behind again. I use to have them all done by Thanksgiving but at least they will be out. Then I can finish decorating the trees!

December 2, 2014
Today's Saying: It is starting to feel like Christmas!

The boutique and going to Disneyland set me back a bit as fat as decorating. But both were fun days. I enjoyed the cookie exchange and though I am not much of a baker, I will be baking with the grand this year. I made it to the post office today to buy my stamps and I will start writing out my cards on Tuesday. I did some more decorating today and the house looks much better. I got a cute ornament from Chatterbugs and card and another card from Danna that depicts her town. On Monday evening I was able to attend our Women's Christmas event at church and it was nice. Here is a picture of me with my friends Alice and Joanie.
